Being a girl is hard work. You have to find multiple salons trying to find the perfect place and it took me a long time to find my perfect match. If any of you ladies are looking for a new hair salon, please give this place a shot. I promise you won't be disappointed. I absolutely love this place! I've been coming here for about 2+ years now and I always see Cindy. I try to come in about every 2-3 months to get a trim or conditioning treatment. The firs time I came here I got my hair dyed and she did a fantastic job. No pics sorry! Upon entering, I'm always greeted by a friendly host and then my most favorite hair stylist comes out and greets me with a hug and a smile. She sits me down at the wash station and washes my hair and then lays a warm towel on me while she's washing my hair. After the shampoo and conditioner, we go back to trim/cut my hair and style it. Service: My service fee for a hair cut is $85 and Kerasilk treatment for $45. Hair cut: Cindy does a fantastic job. She creates the best layers that fits my face and adds volume to my hair. Nothing negative to say about her. She's wonderful. Treatment: have pretty long, thin and fine hair so I try to get the Kerasilk treatment every time I come in. The treatment conditioning and moisturizes my hair because I usually come in with dry and tangly hair and the treatment helps with it. He is great and both cut and color. DON'T EVER GO TO JASMINE! She completely ruined my hair. She must be newer, but didn't listen to a word I said. The color was just a base, which I have no complaints about, but I absolutely would not trust her doing any sort of color correction/highlight on me. Instead of using a shinier black base age used a matte which dried my hair out and all the deep conditioning treatments won't save it. BUT When she started cutting that was the REAL disaster. First, my hair is uneven. Literally the bottom is two different lengths. Second, I asked for no layers - but yet I have harsh steps that look ridiculously trashy. The top "layer" she did to "frame" my face looks like a huge chunk of hair just on the top of my head. I'm embarrassed to wear it down right now. I've called the salon to try and speak with her, but this chick hasn't had the decency to respond to get it fixed. I'll be growing my hair back out again and going to one of the master/More experienced stylists. I've heard AMAZING things about Tease, and will give it another shot with SOMEONE ELSE! Tease is a fine salon for men and women with straight hair. However, they can not distinguish between curl, wave, and body. I specifically asked my stylist (Justin Myers) if he could cut curly hair. He insisted he could and then proceeded to completely destroy the curl pattern. He replaced 13 inches of ringlets with 6-8 inches of unruly and unmanageable waves. It was not until he had finished cutting that he admitted that he was not familiar with the carve and slice method of cutting curls. I requested a recut. The stylist and staff maintain that the cut is technically adequate and have asked that I not return to the salon. I have spent thousands of dollars in this salon over the years. Despite this, I got no apology. And no offer for a recut. Just a text message asking that I never return to the salon. Update: I was invited back to the salon by one of the owners who offered to try to fix the cut. However, the damage was not repairable and we agreed that I would need to wait for my hair to grow out before anything can be done to fix it. Avoid this salon at all costs! read more

After a subpar experience the last time I tried to get my haircut, I did my research this time around. I read all the reviews, I scoured websites, I made a list (and checked it twice), narrowed it down, and decided to try Tease. Based on the other reviews, it seemed like I couldn't go wrong with any of the stylists. I asked the receptionist who she would recommend based on my hair type and she suggested Roi. Roi was very nice, easy to chat with, and really took the time to ask about my lifestyle and effort I put into my hair (throw it up in a bun and zero, respectively) before cutting my hair both wet and dry. The cut has super flattering, face framing layers. I left with bouncy, flouncy, supermodel blowing in the wind hair. The reason I can't give it 5 stars is that I have never paid so much for a haircut in my life and I have lived in some expensive cities. Toto, I thought we left San Francisco?! I used the Yelp check in offer for $25 off which helped ease the sting a little, but triple digits for a haircut? If it turns out this is the only place in Houston that knows how to cut my super thick, wavy hair I'll make this my go-to place, but I have to believe there's something equally good and less expensive out there. read more

Found this salon through groupon, and scheduled an appointment with Sandra for a haircut and treatment. I've used groupon a few times now and know there are only certain days you can schedule. When I called to book my haircut appointment, I was given the option to schedule on a Saturday because Sandra had an opening that morning. Then at the time of my appointment while I was getting shampoo, they were confused and unaware I was a groupon client. So I guess the receptionist don't communicate with each other. However, Sandra was wonderful and gave me a great haircut and blowout. I get nervous switching stylists, because we've all had that one instance where you ask for a trim but end up with 5+ inches off somehow. I've been getting my hair cut at the same place for the last 5 years and always loved the service, so when my hair dresser, Cindy M. told me she was moving, I was a little sad... BUT. Tease is awesome, and now that I've been there twice, I can safely say that I'm happy for the change. Cindy has been cutting my hair for almost 3 years now, and not only is she the best hair dresser I've ever had, since she's moved to Tease it's been an overall better experience. It's a great, quiet, little storefront; no hassle with parking, and reasonably/consistently priced with other places (It's also closer to me, so that's a bonus...) Both of the times I've been in there, it's been very private and personal. Making appointments have been a breeze and the reception staff have been over the top friendly (always offer drinks, magazines, etc.)-- which is not a universal experience at other salons. Onto Cindy: If you're looking for a new stylist, you need to give her a shot. She's smart, super personable, passionate about her work and great with a pair of scissors. The location is very convenient and the salon is very cozy and very swanky. Travis was very professional and also made me feel very comfortable...like we'd known each other for a long time! I love my new haircut! I had gotten my hair cut last year by the artistic director of a major national hair product company when I did a show for them. It looked great at first, but when I styled it myself I did not like it at all, my head looked like a big mushroom. I had to cut it short to even out the layers a bit more and when my hair finally grew out enough I went to see Sandra at Tease and she was AWESOME! Contemporary, yet the windows allow you to see he movement of trees as you are pampered and taken care of. I was offered something to drink, and a blanket, when I was obvious chilly. Travis, one of the owners was my hairdresser. He was professional, calmly engaging, and highly knowledgeable. I CANNOT SAY MORE ABOUT THIS PLACE. I am from New Orleans and was in Houston for a concert about two years ago. I noticed how dark my roots are and immediately booked an appointment at the closest salon to my hotel. I walked in to Tease and was instantly welcomed. The work that they did to my hair was just incredible. My hair had never looked like that. To this day, I still show stylist back home pictures of my hair after Brandy did it and hope that they can replicate it (they never can). I have continued to go back here with every visit to Houston.
