First time here, I got the Hype coffee with coffee jelly - can adjust sugar level, but not the ice level on this drink. It's great, strong & bold coffee flavor. I also got the roasted oolong milk tea with almond pudding. Can adjust both sugar and ice level on this drink. The tea flavor on this drink could've been stronger. The almond pudding was delicious ... wish they added a bit more though cause I finished the pudding before I was even half way through my drink. This has to be hands down one of my favorite places to get boba in Davis. I have not been disappointed with a single drink from this shop and the service is quick. There is a self serve kiosk in the front of the store, this allows you to order and customize your drinks accordingly to your own standards, I ordered a custom lemonade with 75% sweetness and it was refreshing and perfectly balanced in sweetness. My friend ordered a dirty ube with boba and the ube and coffee were perfectly balanced, the boba itself had a great texture and amount of sweetness. This is my favorite boba place is Davis!! I would literally come everyday but the drinks are a bit more expensive as usual. The employees here are always super nice and helpful for when you have any questions about their drinks. My go to order is always the liquid gold with honey boba. You can really taste the quality of tea in their drinks which is probably what makes them a little pricier. The liquid gold has a rich and milky tea flavor while the honey boba is always cooked perfectly to be sweet and chewy. I normally get the standard at all tea shops to compare but honey oolong is special to me now :) I wish the sugar level had something in between 25 percent to 50 percent. I found it odd that they have 0, 10, 25 but it jumps straight up to 50. No 35? I guess you can up the sugar level by how much boba you want in your cup. I have used online ordering twice. So far, it's hit or miss. This shop is super small so it wasn't the best experience to have to wait inside, cramped while my order was 10 minutes passed the emailed time. Again, small potatoes. After looking at the menu I decided to get the "taro lover" and my boyfriend got the "strawberry sangria". The drinks came out pretty fast! We've been here twice and the Jasmine Milk Tea I got here was perfect, not overly sweet like so many boba shops make their drinks nowadays. This is my 2nd time at Teaspoon but at a different location. This location is much cuter than the other one I've been to. It reminds of me a nice and quiet neighborhood where you can walk around and feel safe. I tried a different drink this time which is jasmine milk tea. I ordered the California Snow - Avocado snow w/ mochi, shaved almonds, condensed milk topping. PERFECT for the hot weather we were having this summer. We ordered the Liquid Gold with cream and pudding and Creamy Jasmine with passion fruit popping boba, 25 percent sweet. The Liquid Gold oolong flavor was strong, more on the bitter side and we wish the drink was creamier. The creamy Jasmine was very watered down so it was hard to taste much tea. First off, I'd like to say that this drink is super vibrant and tastes just as good as it looks! Strawberry matcha milk teas tend to be a hit or miss whenever I order it at boba shops, but this one was a hit. The matcha wasn't too grainy and the strawberries weren't too overpowering, which is usually the problem I have. The boba was also cooked nicely and wasn't overly sweet. Another thing I liked was that their straws are eco friendly and don't get soggy immediately like paper straws do. The inside of the shop is a bit small, but it's still cutely decorated. I've tried this place 3 times to give it a fair chance. The drinks are hit or miss. Today, I got the strawberry sangria 75% sweet and it was way too sweet. The tea wasn't that strong for a black tea and the strawberries inside tasted like it was soaked in sugar for too long that it was like jam. It was too sweet for me to finish. Teaspoon has finally opened up in Davis! After trying to open since 2015-ish, they're finally up and running! I got the house milk tea and Hype (coffee) drinks! The cashier was super friendly, but there was a small wait for our drinks, despite not having that many people in line! The store is pretty tiny, with maybe enough space for 2-3 people to wait for their drinks and 3-5 people to stand in line and order. There aren't any seats or tables, but I did hear an employee mention they want to add a few outside seating options! House milk tea with boba: 3/5 The house milk tea tasted a little too artificially sweet, and the boba pearls were super soft and soggy. I got it with regular ice, but there was only the tiniest bit of ice in it! Hype coffee drink: 5/5 Wow! The "Hype" drink sure lives up to its name! It tastes like a more bitter version of a Vietnamese iced coffee and definitely packed a punch! I'm definitely coming back for this in the future! This is one of my favorite boba places in Davis. I like all of the drink in Teaspoon but I wanna write this review to talk about this Dirty Ube Latte. I have tried ube coffee in different places and to be honest, the ube extract is the hard part of the drink. Most of the places use really low quality ube extract but this place uses really good quality ube extract/powder and it blends really well with coffee. I always order this everytime I get a chance to stop by Teaspoon. The sad part is that Teaspoon opens around 12PM and I usually need coffee before that :( read more
