I decided to give Teaspoon another try, but this time I ordered a matcha royale with strawberry, less ice (unfortunately you can't adjust the sugar level for this one). It does look nice at least since you can see the different layers of matcha, milk, and strawberry, and if you don't mix it, you can experience going from bitter to gradually more sweet as you go from top to bottom in the drink. I thought this was pretty good since I got enough of the matcha flavor to feel satisfied, so definitely an improvement compared to what I ordered last time (liquid gold). read more

I ordered the basic milk tea with boba. On a Saturday around lunchtime there weren't too many people here, just 1 party of 2 before me. My tea came out quickly. Flavor-wise it was decent, half sweetness was a good level. The boba themselves were on the soft side, still ok for me but I know people who prefer them more chewy. Came during grand opening weekend on Sunday a little after noon and only saw 2 people waiting for their drink orders. Decided to take advantage of the bogo and try drinks I had never had before--Tiger Chai and Passion Sunrise. The girl at the register was very friendly but actually needed me to prompt her about the bogo deal. No biggie though as she was quick to punch it in. I stopped next door to grab some breads from Tous Les Jour and came back to my drinks all set. There was a little line at this point to order and pick-up but it seemed like they were pumping out the drinks pretty quickly. Visited Teaspoon on their grand opening day for their deals! The first 100 gets their beautiful iridescent glass bottles and a free drink! It was also BOGO Free drinks the entire weekend. I honestly came like three times within two days. I've been to Teaspoon before at the Milpitas and Hostetter locations so I was pretty happy they brought a location to Fremont. Pretty good drinks but pricey. I would say that this location is still new so their drinks are somewhat not that consistent but it depends on the drinks you order. For me, I ordered less sweet for all the drinks (50% or below) and some of them were still a little too sweet. It doesn't bother me too much but like I mention the consistency is not always there. I've ordered the Grapefruit Garden (25% Sweet) three times this last weekend, and felt like it was the only drink that was consistent and delicious. It was literally so addicting. It's my new favorite from this place. Overall, sweetness levels are a bit not that accurate but drinks are still really good. THIS JUST IN! Teaspoon Fremont is finally open!!! I cannot tell you how long I've waited for this day. Teaspoon is my favorite boba place, and to have one closer to my house is supreme. My favorite Teaspoon drink is the Grasshopper. It is so refreshing and light. Milk makes me feel really heavy and full, so the crisp cucumber and green tea flavors of the Grasshopper is my go-to. The boba is always so chewy and fresh. It's sweet, but not overwhelmingly sweet. I hate when boba tastes like it's been marinating in sugar for days. Teaspoon boba has just enough sweetness for you to appreciate and savor, but not so much that it overpowers the flavors of your drink. The Fremont interior is so cute! Teaspoon takes over the old One Tea location in Fremont. I hadn't been in the Warm Springs area in awhile, and I learned that a new Teaspoon location had just opened up in the area. I decided to try it out. There was plenty of parking spaces available as I made my way there. There was one person ahead of me ordering, which gave me time to look over the menu. The staff were friendly and attentive as I placed my order for Strawberry Sangria. Social Distancing and Face Coverings are enforced. The wait was short, and I soon had the drink in my hands. For some reason ordering ahead was closed so I put in my orders with my friend once we got to Teaspoon. The staff told us that we needed to wait about 5 minutes for the boba which was fine with us, but we ended up waiting over 15 to 20 minutes for our drinks. We were fine waiting longer but the staff never gave us any explanation why our drinks were taking so long. The drinks looked quite aesthetically pleasing, especially the matcha royale with mango and the matcha royale with strawberry. The matcha royale with mango tasted delicious and sweet when I first started drinking it but the mango seemed to disappear as I kept drinking it, though it might've been due to the ice melting. Boba was soft and chewy so no complaints about that. Overall I would only visit this Teaspoon location if I really didn't want to venture further for boba. Their milk tea drinks are generally good but the matcha royale with mango was a bit of a miss today and their customer service could've been better since they didn't give us any explanation or apology for why the drinks took so long. read more

Went around 6pm for their Grand Opening deal and only 1 person was ordering in front of me. Service was very friendly here and drinks are bogo free 11/21/20 - 11/23/20. I asked if there was a limit on how many drinks we could buy at bogo free and the girl taking orders told me there's no limit. Also she saw that I had a list of drinks written down and instead of having me say them all with a mask on, she just asked to see my list. Made it much easier for both of us. I've enjoyed almost every drink I've had from teaspoon but my favorite is still the creamy jasmine 50% sweet with almond pudding. I also like the liquid gold, grapefruit garden, and grasshopper. Recently just tried some of their seasonal winter drinks and the gingerbread one was pretty tasty. Hoping the Tiger chai is just as good! Even teas(without boba) 1 or 2 days after you buy them from here still taste delicious because the tea taste just gets stronger. I have never tried boba until moving to California, I came to Teaspoon in Mountain View with my big and tried it for the first time and was sold. The first time I went, I got a sunrise drink that didn't really taste like tea, but it was super sweet and I enjoyed it greatly. I honestly chose it because it seemed like a safe option, and it had the jellies so that's what I really wanted. But it tasted like a juice and it was sooooo good!! The next time I went, I got the Taro Lover drink. I had never heard of Taro until moving here and I figured I had to try it. The drink tasted like a literal milkshake it was so good. The Taro chunks were amazing and this drink is incredibly sweet so if you're looking for something to fulfill a sweet tooth, this is the way to go. Usually, however I get a safe drink of the house milk tea with honey boba. I really enjoy it, and the more often I have it, the less sweetener I use, which I am assuming is attributed to me not being used to tea. Overall Teaspoon is a great place to stop in for a refreshing milk tea. They have a good assortment, and you can customize your drink as much as you would prefer to, I just think things like this are a little bit overpriced. read more

As for the drinks, I thought they were pretty, but mediocre otherwise (especially for the price) Strawberry sangria: 3.5/5 Black tea with strawberry purée-- the flavor of the tea came off very strong and fragrant, which I enjoyed. Paired with the strawberry, the drink tasted flowery and herbal, which is nice if that's what you're going for! Silky strawberry: 3/5 Came out a bit disappointed with the drink... it's essentially milk and strawberry purée with boba. I wish it had more strawberry flavor, or something more tart to balance out the creamy milk. Did we go to the same shop? I got two drinks-- the rose petal milk tea at 25% sweet and no ice, and then the thai tea at 100% sweet with 50% ice. Overall, drinks were watery and not as strong in flavor as I would have liked. The rose petal milk tea with creama didn't taste like rose at all-- not that it tasted like a black tea either. More of a non-descript tea-ish sort of taste. Their 25% sweetness was true to that sweetness so I will give them credit for that. Even their cream (which was very light) was a bit watery / not milky tasting when eaten on its own. 2/5 given that a rose tea should taste like rose? On the Thai tea, the 100% sweetness was actually not that sweet (we ended up adding condensed milk ourselves to up the sweetness), so I appreciated that. However, the tea taste could have been 2x what it was, and the drink itself was also watery / lacked milk fat for mouthfeel. 3/5 on this drink. The texture of the honey boba was a bit softer than I would have liked (I like a firmer middle) but overall it was acceptable. It didn't seem like they had been soaked in honey at all (or if they had, it must not have been for a long time, as it had no sweetness to it). 3/5 on the boba. Liquid gold diluted not particularly oolong in flavor altho not a black tea, crystal boba slightly sweet, watery Taro tastes almost marshmallow-y. Great quality (albeit slightly pricey) drinks, friendly quick service and both shops we've been to now are super clean. So many flavors and options to choose from and they all look soooo good it's so hard to choose. The strawberry colada is my son's absolute favorite with strawberry popping boba-he's got good taste! I really love Teaspoon and have tried 3 locations prior to this one (Cupertino, Campbell, San Jose) and they were all great. I knocked off three stars because customer service was not that great. I walked up to the counter to order my drink. Every question that the cashier asked me I could BARELY hear her (masks, a piece of plexiglass between us, and a blender going off...come on now) I had to keep saying "what" to every single question. She would not talk any louder and each question became more frustrating to answer. After putting my order in, I went to go stand outside. When my order was done she called my name LOUDLY (finally she spoke up). I walk to the counter and she slammed my drink down and tossed me a straw and yelled out, "HAVE A NICE NIGHT!" Wow! I got the strawberry matcha drink. It was okay but I got it way too sweet for my liking which was my fault. I've been a big fan of Teaspoon since I tried it 3 years ago so I'm really happen one opened up here in Fremont. My usual order is the Liquid Gold -- one of their specialty drinks which is a honey oolong topped with cream. It's one of my favorite milk teas b/c I'm a big fan of honey, and I really enjoy how subtle the honey flavor is b/c it's apart of the oolong rather than just added to the drink. The tea is also pretty strong (not bitter b/c it's an oolong but flavorful) so the cream (which basically makes it a milk tea) doesn't overpower the flavor. Their boba is also a good consistency, soft but with a good level of firmness. This time, I decided to get their House Milk Tea 50% sweet with boba. It was pretty bitter but the honey boba sweetened it up a bit, though there wasn't a lot of boba. The service was really good though, and the person who took my order recommend getting a lower sweetness level and offered to add more sweetener if I didn't like it. Now Teaspoon is definitely one of the pricey boba places, at least to me. My scale is a regular sized good quality milk tea with boba is on average $4-5, anything below is a good deal and anything above is expensive (this doesn't include matcha or anything like that). My Liquid Gold Order is usually over $6 after boba and tax, but I was surprised to find that this House Milk Tea order was $5.85 after tax. Though it was good, I don't think a basic milk tea should be worth that much. I've had good quality basic tea at other places for much cheaper. Overall, I do love Teaspoon even though they're one of the expensive boba places around. I will come back for sure b/c that Liquid Gold is something special, but I will probably not order the House Milk Tea or one of the basics again. read more

If you've kept track of my reviews (but who is, really?), you know that I'm a huge, huge, HUGE fan of Teaspoon. This isn't to take away from my past review, and if you're looking for my review of the drinks and my past experience(s) there, please refer to my previous review...it's very long, so I won't post it at the end of this review. TL;DR: Drinks good (but a bit on the sweet side), mochi donuts not good. Anyway, this review is solely about their MOCHI DONUTS. If you were reading my past review, you'll know that I was interested in trying their mochi donuts! I had some from Mochiholic (nearby) a few months ago, and those were pretty good, so now I'm always on the prowl. This past trip, I tried the matcha mochi donut and the strawberry one. While I applaud the effort they made to keep up with the mochi donut hype, their donuts were simply not good. Usually mochi donuts are chewy and you can actually tell they're mochi donuts, whereas here they're just hard and you can't really tell they're mochi donuts at all! Honestly, the texture is how I'd imagine very dense, stale regular donuts would be. That being said, the flavouring on the donuts are pretty good, but that's all I can say about that. SO, next time I go to Teaspoon, it'll just be for the drinks because those are good! read more

I was so happy when Teaspoon opened their Fremont location! Now my friends and I don't have to go far to get our boba cravings satisfied. COVID-19 SAFETY The staff always wears masks and gloves and there's a plastic divider at the register to allow for even less interaction. They generally leave the doors open too so you don't even have to touch the handles. PARKING There are always tons of parking spaces so it's super convenient ORDERING I've ordered primarily through the app, but their in-person ordering is also super fast! Drinks are usually ready within 10 minutes and if you're ordering multiple drinks they also put it in a bag for you. I really recommend downloading the Teaspoon app since you can also get points and sometimes they send discounts to you too. DRINKS My go-to drinks are Silky Mango and Grasshopper! During Halloween, they also had the Hulk (green Thai tea) which I really loved (and hope it comes back soon). The boba at the Fremont location is always super super soft and chewy and fresh no matter what time of day, which I really appreciate. SERVICE The staff here are super friendly!
