Tzt is my fave in the Bay area in CA. So when i saw it in Maui, i have to have my favorite boba drink, Mango Matcha Latte with Honey Boba and Popping Mango, 50% sweet. $12! i guess it is more expensive in Maui. Also, 50% sweet tasted like 100%. Hubby wanted a smoothie and they don't make smoothies. So he ended up with a slushie. Not his fave. The servers were very nice and answered all our questions. TeaZenTea is located at Whaler's Village in the old Maui Matcha spot. They offer a pretty wide range of boba with a variety of toppings like fruit jelly, popping boba, salted cheese foam, and more. They have your classic milk teas, fruit teas, slushies, and more fun, unique flavors. I have been here a handful of times now and I have to say, they are one of the best spots for boba on island. What's great is the drinks are customizable from the level of sweetness, milk alternatives, to toppings. I've tried a few of their drinks like their Thai Tea, Tiger Creme Brulee, and Lava flow slushie. All tasted good, but my favorite has to be the Ube Taro Creme Brulee. It's a nice blend of flavors that isn't too sweet. I'm not sure what they put on the bottom -- I'm assuming it's the creme brulee, but it's chunky, creamy, and delicious. I think that's my favorite part and it's what made me fall in love with their drinks. The drinks only come in one size and can get pricey if you have more add ons. They do validate your parking though so I guess that can offset the $$ a little? They don't have any seating inside, but there are tables and seats readily available outside or you can take your drink and enjoy it on Ka'anapali Beach. Overall, this is a great spot for boba. We spent some time in Maui and passed this place a few times. Okay boba. Not the greatest we've had. 3.5 stars on the rating according to one in our group. The young ladies were somewhat helpful in directing us what drinks to try. No where to really sit down and hang. Outside seating is really the only and best option. This dragonfruit tea must be 1000% sugar. Way too sweet I could not drink it. I asked for a cup of just ice so I can hopefully dilute it. So I opened the door and dropped the cup. The cup cracked and all the ice jumped out. I asked for another cup. It was given. It was still too sweet. I feel like I need to divide this into 3-4 cups of ice, then add water to the 3-4 cups of ice to dilute it. I give them an extra star for service, willing to give me ice cups even though they didn't look too thrilled about it. I did tip them (bought 3, which 2 were for my kids) beforehand. Went in on a hot day for a cool drink and picked a couple of interesting options. Even though we had kamaaina rates (10% off) it was still a bit steep for 2 drinks. Hubbs got the lilikoi butterfly tea, and I ordered the peach butterfly tea. Both were extremely sweet, extremely sweeeeet, I almost had to throw it away as it was just too much for my palate. The best matcha I had in Lahaina! I tried quite a few other places that were very watered down and very sweet but the strawberry matcha here is SO good! It's nice and strong. I have been to this location a few times. The quality of the drinks are consistent. I have tried the Okinawa milk tea , the strawberry fruit tea. The Okinawan milk tea is like a coffee type of tea. They also have different types of boba, custards and jellies that you can pair with your drink selections. I went with the honey boba in my okinawan milk tea. The second time I tried this place out I got the Strawberry fruit tea with the popping strawberry boba. Both were delicious just depending on what you're looking for. The strawberry fruit tea was definitely on the lighter side while the milk tea was heavier. So depending on your taste buds hope that helps in your selection. You can always ask the employees for recommendations also. The first time I went was on a Saturday and the service was good. The next time I went in was a Monday and the service was not as good. I will say they were much busier on the Monday but no real communication or friendliness. The two employees seemed overwhelmed so I wont hold it against them. Decor is simple and bland not much to it. Overall I will definitely go back because the quality of the drinks was great and the prices are not bad especially for the area.
