Icy Bubble had a lot of people going in and so we spontaneously went next door and put our pizza on one of their small tables. It was game over. My mini was throwing a tantrum and wanted to eat asap, so we quickly ate our food there. Then we walked around a bit and I kept seeing all the treats everyone was going in for and walking out with. Coming from Honolulu where we're spoilt for choice with a variety of bubble teas from and/or inspired by Taiwan, I was a little underwhelmed. IMO, the boba was unflavored and a touch mushy but the kid says his were sweet and chewy (?!) so he theorized my tea was sweet to begin with. On the other hand, he says the brown sugar syrup is not as intense as the ones he's had before. My Thai tea tasted Thai tea-ish. On hindsight I probably should have ordered the classic or Jasmine milk tea. (Also the Thai food truck next door offers Thai tea... ) Service was friendly and competent though. The young man rattled off their bestseller (avocado ice-blended), explained the difference between brown sugar milk tea and lava tea (lava tea is tea based), and what Milo dinosaur is. (I'm familiar with Milo dinosaur in Southeast Asia but am curious if it's the same here; sounds like it is). It's in a cute little compound with a few other "food trucks" and tented eating areas and a DJ? Parking is plentiful since it's basically at the edge of Maui Mall. As that's where we stay, it was extremely convenient to get my daily matcha. The way they make the matcha is legit. Water in the right temp? Check Whisk until foamy? Check The flavor is great, it is not water downed and you can tell it's true ceremonial grade matcha. Lastly, I saw that they have hojicha and they whished such a great cup of hojicha as well that it inspired me to buy some. I hope they stay in Nanea because I know I won't have to go far for matcha when I'm in Maui.

Ordered an acai bowl & 2 scoops of gelato. The acai bowl only took 5 minutes to make but the 2…read morescoops of gelato took 20 minutes to make? There were three people working behind the counter. One was taking orders, another was making the tickets & the third was stocking. But instead of completing our ticket they started making everyones orders that ordered after we did. Confused if they needed to make the gelato from scratch or just couldn't find the scoop. We went back to the counter to ask what was taking so long. The three employees ignored us walking back and forth to keep working on the other orders. Once we finally got someones attention the person that took our order then pointed out to another employee that we were still waiting on the easiest item to make. I however would recommend this place. Both the acai bowl and gelato was delicious. Just not the greatest customer service.
