After discussing the project, I was required to leave a $100 deposit to order parts and was given a firm appointment for installation, with the promise that the work would be completed around 1 PM today. I dropped off my vehicle promptly at opening (9 AM) and returned at noon to check progress--only to learn that no work had even started on my van. With less than an hour left until the promised completion time, it was obvious the job couldn't possibly be finished as agreed. I politely explained that I needed to cancel and requested a full refund of my deposit, as they had not honored their end of the commitment. Instead, I was offered only $40 back, with the explanation that they had already ordered parts and that delays were due to other jobs running long--not their fault, according to them. I took the partial refund and left, but this left a very bad taste. If I had simply changed my mind without any issues on their side, I would understand them retaining some or all of the deposit to cover ordered parts or opportunity cost. However, they failed to deliver on the clear timeline they provided and never communicated any potential delay ahead of time, despite me checking in. Holding $60 of my money after breaking their own promised completion time feels unfair and unprofessional. Customer service should include basic communication about realistic timelines--especially when a deposit is taken and an appointment is scheduled. I expected better accountability from a business that advertises customer satisfaction as a priority. Unfortunately, this experience has made me unwilling to recommend HB Auto Sound. If you're considering them for audio or camera installs, be prepared for possible delays and inflexible policies on deposits/refunds. There are other shops in the area that may value clear communication and customer time more highly. 1 star - would not return.

I scheduled the appointment to have a 12.3 Android Car Play unit in my Mercedes-Benz. I showed up this morning and met with Arian, a true professional at his trade as well as a kind, honest and knowledgeable individual. The shop is meticulously maintained and has a vast array of tools, work bench areas, awesome LED ceiling lighting, a waiting area, front office and conference/training room. This shop and team of professionals are a class act. Arian explained the installation process and timeline and I was quite impressed. The Rolls Royce in the shop that was getting customized with lighting and sound was a testament to the quality of work that Arian, Sam and the other team members provide when you bring your car into the shop. Arian called me when the car was completed and when I arrived gave me a very thorough orientation on the features, modes and operational functionality of the new unit. Very impressive and truly a plus when you have such a professional take the time to show you the details and functions of the new unit. Sam was in the shop as well as was amazing. I am writing this to warn other consumers about my experience with Stereo Blvd. I paid $2,800 on 10/25/2025 for work that was never completed. As of March 2026, the owner (Hank) still refuses to refund my $1,800 balance and has tried to delay and postpone to complete the work on my vehicle for 5 months. According to the California Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA), this business is operating on a CANCELLED license (see attached screenshot from DCA archives showing it was cancelled in 2009). Additionally, they are performing tire and rim installations without the required Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) registration. A formal state investigation is currently active with the Bureau of Household Goods and Services (BHGS Case #252602346). BAR (The Bureau of Automotive Repair) complaint confirmation reference number 65CF-MQX7MX for performing Wheel/Rim without license. Please verify any business license at search.dca.ca.gov before handing over your money. Do NOT make same mistake like mine and DO NOT believe in the owner's sweet talk but DO your thorough research and shopping ahead. ***UPDATE: In his response, the owner blames my Tesla's "16V lithium battery" for his failure. This is a massive red flag for any EV owner. The 16V system has been the standard in Teslas since 2022. By blaming the battery now, he is admitting he lacked the basic technical knowledge to work on my car, despite luring me into a $2,800 "parts deposit" by claiming he had done many of these before. A true professional would know that specialized EV audio components (like Alpine's Tesla-specific kits) are designed for this exact voltage. He took the money for a job he wasn't qualified to perform, stalled for weeks, and still hasn't provided a refund. Stay away if you own a modern EV. ***Now since I have filed complaint with California Bureau of Household Goods and Services and Bureau of Automotive Repair, the owner Hank response with "wait and see" attitude rather than issuing me the refund!
