I recently visited HB Auto Sound in Huntington Beach to purchase a backup camera and new stereo system for my van. After discussing the project, I was required to leave a $100 deposit to order parts and was given a firm appointment for installation, with the promise that the work would be completed around 1 PM today. I dropped off my vehicle promptly at opening (9 AM) and returned at noon to check progress--only to learn that no work had even started on my van. With less than an hour left until the promised completion time, it was obvious the job couldn't possibly be finished as agreed. I politely explained that I needed to cancel and requested a full refund of my deposit, as they had not honored their end of the commitment. Instead, I was offered only $40 back, with the explanation that they had already ordered parts and that delays were due to other jobs running long--not their fault, according to them. I took the partial refund and left, but this left a very bad taste. If I had simply changed my mind without any issues on their side, I would understand them retaining some or all of the deposit to cover ordered parts or opportunity cost. However, they failed to deliver on the clear timeline they provided and never communicated any potential delay ahead of time, despite me checking in. Holding $60 of my money after breaking their own promised completion time feels unfair and unprofessional. Customer service should include basic communication about realistic timelines--especially when a deposit is taken and an appointment is scheduled. I expected better accountability from a business that advertises customer satisfaction as a priority. Unfortunately, this experience has made me unwilling to recommend HB Auto Sound. If you're considering them for audio or camera installs, be prepared for possible delays and inflexible policies on deposits/refunds. Absolutely 5 star!! I needed an alarm system installed on my commercial truck. They were busy at the time I'v had to wait about two weeks ( I think that's a good sign if their busy) Alarm system was installed, the installer tinted my sensors so it's not going to be visible from outside. 1 week later my siren went out, I stoped at shop they took care of the problem right away. BUYERS BEWARE!!!!!!!! I needed new alarm on my work vehicle. Gave hd sound a call and they said come on in. They were very nice on the phone. Once I start talking to the guy at the desk in person, thanks started to change quickly. I should of left then. I was in need of a alarm to protect my vehicle which has ten of thousands of dollars in tools in it. After about 6 weeks my alarm key fob stopped working. I stop hd sound to get look at and got the run around. Roughly a month later my other key fob has now stopped working as well. I was left stranded on a job with know way to get into my vehicle. Called hb sound again and he says have it towed to there shop. When aaa arrive he was able to by pass alarm and was able to continue my day. I called today to try and get resolve. Guy at desk gave me run around again. Not sure what his name is, but the guy at desk is a COMPLETE LIAR!!! Constantly talks in circles!!!!!!!!! hb sound did a horrible job on my speakers I payed $1,500 and my amp would shut off when it would get too loud. I took everything out and got everything redone properly and a little upgraded for $2,000 but so much better on Bristol sound Santa Ana Now my amp stays on and doesn't shut off the bass every minute HB Sound I still have my bunk equipment laying around if you want to reimburse me.. speakers are good just needed an amp with more wattage.. read more

Not only did they provide the lowest quote but also the fastest turn around time. Originally I was quoted 4-5 hours but they completed the install in 3. The back up camera works perfectly and so does the display. I'd also like to speak on their honesty. When I came into the shop, only 1 car door speaker was working. First of all, let me say that this place is great. Jayson was very professional and courteous to interact with, and although I had to bring my car back several times to diagnose a possible wiring issue / manufacturing defect of the head unit itself (not HB Autosound's fault) my overall experience here has been nothing short of positive and amazing! I replaced my 2008 head unit with a Sony XAV-AX1000 and I absolutely love the redesigned experience inside my car. The sound is great (and much louder than a mickey moused AUX port that I used to have) and the interface is convenient to safely attend to apps on your phone (with CarPlay). The installation was done professionally, and the overall look of the final installation is very clean, and I would definitely return here in the future for any other car audio / sound needs! They're usually pretty busy with various installs, so make sure to call to set up a time to work on your car - they're very accomodating! read more

Although they've provided good installations.... The time frame to get things done took forever. The first time I came, I was at the store from about 11:30am till they Closed (at 7pm) *They went and got a radio from another store But, I wasn't told (till I started asking about the time) that the other store was damn near going to Vegas (off the 15 freeway I was told). Due to this, and other reasons that I may not be aware of, made this installation an All Day Thing. First they had to order the radio and install kit, which they say will take over a week to get. Then they can't get to the install for 3 weeks... I spoke with the owner and he looks at my receipt and tells me there is a newer unit out then the one BB had suggested and they had the wrong wiring package listed since I had the Bose system 8n my car. They broke my Amp and then say it was bad. It was Brand new and was working when I dropped it off today 10-02-20 then tell me I need a buy a new one but thanks for the loaner Jay should just give me the loaner Amp since your tech broke mine. Full story First of all Jason the sales rep in the front is cool and polite, owner Jay was helpful but my overall experience with this shop as been a complete shit show. There is no Communication and lack of pride in the work they put out for some thing the techs. So my first time there I talk to Jason and tell him I need to have 4 speaker, 2 tweeters, 1 amp and 2 12in subs in a box already installed just need to be hooked up. He tells me it will be 3 hours and $275 for the work. Perfect good flat rate place looks great. BUT the job ended up taking 6 hours and mind you I never left the shop stay the whole time. Not once didn't anyone come out and tell me hey we are having problems hey we had to reword everything nothing. Then about 5 years in the Owner come back and sees I'm still there and says sorry and that the trainee tech is working on my car and that he had issues. First you guys should tell someone if the trainee is touching there car because I would have said no and I'll come another day but anyway so 6 hours and they are done Jay is nice enough and take $100 off the bill kool I'm still in a good mood and no problem we are at a 4 star rating at this point and only problem I seen was one tweeter was loose till but they said they will fix it next time I came by kool. So Few days go by and I go to clean my car and take a closer look and see both tweeters are loose and there not even wires under the dash are not tied up and put away so I look at everything and find out the tech didn't even hook up both subs he is a half ass job. So I call Jason and he ask for me to bring it in. I drop it off at noon. I don't get a call and anything all day I call Jason at 6 asking for a update he says it will be done by closing 7pm ok so now that another 7 hours I don't have my car. I get there and Jason tells me that my new off of the box Amp is bad. Funny it was working when I dropped off my car. So they put a loaner amp in my car and tell me I need to buy a new amp and they will install it. Ok but if your tech that originally installed my sound system seen that it was the wrong amp for the job why didn't you guys tell me so you break my amp and tell me I have to buy a new one or you could have just gave me the loaner for breaking mine and the wires under the dash are still loose and hanging down so yea basically a shit show I won't be coming back here for my other cars read more
