Our 2 year old Samsung fridge was leaking water and the freezer wasn't freezing...looked on yelp for who to go to for Samsung refrigerators and Teckrom seemed to be the best choice. Called them up around 11am and was told they might have a tech available but would have to check. The called me 10 minutes later saying a tech would be by between 1 and 3pm. Gabriel texted me at 2pm telling me he was finishing a job and would let me know when he was on the way. Once he arrived, he took his shoes off. Didn't have to but appreciate the gesture. He saw the fridge, poked around and he said he thinks he knows what happened. After checking a few things he said it might be 1 of 2 things. 1 was easy(cheaper) and 2nd option could be more difficult(compressor). He took the freezer apart, steam cleaned it getting rid of the ice buildup and dried everything...after putting the fan back in, the fridge started working correctly again. Fan worked, compressor worked, fridge was doing its job again. That was it! No parts just some adjusting and cleaning. So happy with the work Gabriel did! I was referred to Teckrom by another appliance repair company that did not work on Thermador refrigerators. I called on a Sunday morning to leave a message as yelp said they were closed but luckily Cristian the owner picked up the phone. He asked what was wrong with the refrigerator, had me text him a photo of the Model and serial number. He said he would send someone out the next morning Monday between 10 AM and 1 PM. The repair was in a Downtown condo with renters in it. Joseph the technician coordinated with them and showed up on time. They said he was very professional and thorough, and he determined that it was a defective evaporator fan. Joseph texted me with that knowledge and the price to fix it and if I wanted to proceed. The price was very fair, and I told him to go ahead and fix it. The refrigerator was up and running Monday morning what service! I had my LG Dryer repaired today. I have nothing but good things to say about my experience with this company. Everything went smoothly making the appointment. Communication over text was good. We agreed on a 3 hour window. They updated me when the technician was en route. The technician was named Joseph. He went above and beyond to address our problem and more. In addition to replacing our faulty bearings, he thoroughly cleaned the dryer and snaked the vents, which hadn't been cleaned in many years. Update: Cristian reached out to me and made things right. He was able to work with me and reschedule the repair to fit around my schedule so I wouldn't need to take another day off. Honestly, still a little peeved that this wasn't resolved during my first exchange, but Cristian going out of his way and reaching out to me like that showed me that he really does care about his customers. My TV has a dead pixel and is still under warranty. LG sends Teckrom the work order to repair my screen. I get a call to set up an appointment for the screen repair and the appointment is set. I requested the day off from work so I can let the technician in. Gabriel shows up on time and is really nice and professional, however LG had sent a used screen and he didn't want to install a used screen. He said theres a possibly static could have caused lint or dust to be attracted to the screen and we would be able to see it after the installation. He says they'll contact me to reschedule the repair. Today I get a text from Sorina (no call this time) asking if I was available on Wednesday 8-10am. I told her I couldn't request another day off in such short notice. She said the TV had to be repaired within 3 days or they will send the screen back. I asked her if there was another time slot available in the evening. She ignores my question and tells me to submit another repair request to LG. I asked to talk to her supervisor/manager to try and get a repair done in the evening and she gives me the phone number to LG's customer service. I will contact LG and tell them the whole story. Hopefully they send the work order to another company. Or maybe I can just return the TV and exchange it for a new one. I would rather do that than deal with this company again. read more

Buyer beware. After contacting Techron we waited 3 days for service because we were told our washer would need a part . Radu arrived was professional and knowledgeable. He quickly diagnosed the problem with our Duet Washer and although it did not require a part we waited for, the repair cost was $75 for him just to show up and $100 for less than 20 min to complete the repair. The owner "Cosmin" called me after my review and still told me that the drain hose wasn't the problem, but he was sorry I didn't have a good experience. He then said he was going to refund me the $350 I had spent. It's been over 3 weeks since our call. Although, I was told what I thought I already knew, which is that I need a new washer, Christian was excellent. I texted him around 7:15 AM this morning and to my surprise he texted me right back saying he could come between 8:30-10. He came around 9, very professional, very nice man. He took off the back panel of my washer and explained to me the damage and that I would need a new washer. It had been rumbling for weeks, and the drum was completely disconnected and water had gotten into the motor. He gave me some suggestions as to where to buy a reasonably priced washer. I wish he could have done the work, because I had every confidence that he was fair and knew what he was doing. I had a rather disappointing experience with Tekrom for a washing machine repair. We had a Whirlpool top loader that had a couple of issues. First, it made an incredible amount of grinding noise during agitation, especially when loaded with blankets. Second, it would leak water onto the floor after every cycle. Not a ton of water, but a noticeable amount. Our technician Gabriel did an excellent job with the first issue. After coming by as a service call and a giving me a parts quote, I went forward with the repair which was somewhere in the $250 range. Keep in mind a brand new, state-of-the-art washer is around $1000 with normal models more like $700. However, after several follow up visits, the leak could not be repaired. Several trial and error attempts did not work. And I was assured that I would not be charged for these visits if the leak wasn't repaired. After something like six follow ups with no improvement, the calls and texts stopped coming and I decided to just replace the unit altogether. Then I received invoices from Tekrom on a couple of occasions. I emailed back politely that since the repair did not actually fix the problem, I would not be charged. A few months passed and again I received an invoice via email. I sent the same response. As of now, I have stopped receiving invoices. But wow, talk about disorganization. Now to everyone's credit, I will say that it seemed that the washer had literally just rusted through the bottom. Keep in mind this Whirlpool was purchased brand new and was less than 5 years old! So I can see the technician's frustration with trying to fix the leak given the that the unit was most likely unfixable. So I am giving a mixed review. One straightforward problem was fixed immediately, another was not and just fizzled out due to mutual frustration. The invoicing error is quite bad, though. read more

I used the request a quote feature on Yelp and Teckrom was one of the first businesses to get back to me. Our clothes washer was leaking from the bottom so we were unable to do any laundry. YIKES!!! I explained to the scheduler that we needed our washer repaired ASAP and they were able to get us an appointment the very next morning. The technician that came diagnosed the problem and was incredibly helpful in laying out the next steps that we needed to take in order to fix the problem. Once again, it needed repair. i was blessed to have Joseph Nguyen come this morning EXACTLY on time to repair the unit. Clearly Joseph is highly experienced, very intelligent, friendly and an overall lovely person. Unfortunately the machine needs a part which he is ordering and will be back. Despite a higher service call fee I went with these guys due to their good reviews. I'm sure they're great if you don't mind being gouged. Guy looked at my fridge for 2 seconds, said he knew what the problem was, quoted $345 to fix it. Initially wouldn't even break out parts and labor, but after some pressing from me he said it needed a thermostat that was $100 (so $245 labor). I looked online, found the exact thermostat new from a number of vendors for $20-$35. Pointed that out, he wouldn't budge one dollar. Told him no thanks. Installed the part myself, literally one screw and about 10 minutes total and the fridge works great again. I don't mind paying a fair markup but these guys are a ripoff. Only redeeming thing was that he waived the service call charge because I was irritated, even though I offered to pay it. read more

Our Samsung refrigerator has had icemaker problems. We reached out to Teckrom based on their good Yelp reviews. Gabriel came out and after taking apart the unit found that the drain pipe wasn't heating properly and had frozen through, preventing water from draining and resulting in water settling in the unit and freezing the whole assembly up. Rather than charging us for an entirely new system, he replaced the drain unit. It's now working perfectly, and no more water overflow. The service was great, Gabriel communicated throughout, he cleaned up, and asked that I follow up with him afterward. Five stars! read more

I had a similar experience to another reviewer. They mis-diagnosed a washer problem and overcharged for unnecessary repair. I had to hire another repairman who determined it was an electrical problem (circuit board) and Tekrom made a useless repair. Normally I would call the original repairman for issues but something wasn't right about the repair and the second repairman confirmed it. I'll give two-star as a benefit of the doubt since the repairman could have honestly believed it was the right repair. But the facts are, is stopped working after 1 week with the exact same problem. A brand new part isn't going to do that. It's not about the money, but I would have been better served by a different repairman who could diagnose things correctly and save me that time and plenty of trouble. I'm sure Tekrom has done good work elsewhere but when they don't, I'm obligated to make people aware. It'll average out. read more

This time to replace a microwave light bulb that I broke off trying to replace and do a "service" on the 20 year old side-by-side Kenmore refrigerator/freezer. They carefully slid it out away from wall and vacumed and steamed cleaned out each nook and cranny possible, from the back side and the front. They checked everything else possible. Brand new LG refrigerator/freezer has condensation/moisture under the freezer door. LG gave me the run around and finally sent me a text message with three different repair places all with the same number, I'm guessing a call center. I called the number and of course no return phone call, so I looked up in Yelp the three repair places and Teckrom was the only one with all good reviews. I called the number listed in Yelp and got through and spoke to Cristian who was amazingly helpful. Cristian came out to the house the same day and explained the issues. Great service. Our LG frig went out stopped cooling both freezer and frig area. I spoke with Cristian via phone and he did a remote diagnoses. Since our warranty and extended warranty expired, he requested model, s/n, date of purchase with paperwork sent to him. He was able to get LG to pay for the needed parts and all I had to pay was labor. He scheduled an onsite with parts and Gabriel came to our home on time and he got to work with our frig. Whirlpool Front load: rubber gasket replacement I used the YELP to get quotes with the appliance # and received 4 replies within minutes. However, Christian was the only one who quoted me the price and labor immediately when I explained I don't need anything else, just replace the dirty gasket. I did not need an evaluation then a 2nd trip to replace the part because otherwise the machine worked fine. It came with the house and a new one costs $1K so it's worth replacing. Radu was the tech and he is also 5/5 stars. They had me waitlisted in case they can squeeze me in for any cancellations.
