Several years ago, this was a coffee and pastry place that I guess just couldn't make it. The Tecopa Brewing Company is part of the Delight's Tecopa Resort which includes the hot springs along the main highway. After a four mile hike in the Amargosa River Canyon a few miles from here, we drove up to have some lunch. The outdoor patio had a fair number of diners--and some kids--so we opted to eat inside where there was no one but us. This is a small spot and the building has been around for a while but it's pleasant enough inside. We were told to sit where we wanted and look over the menu. Soon, the server came by to take our order. It's appears to be a 2 person operation. We each ordered the pulled pork sandwich. It comes with cole slaw, a small plastic container of BBQ sauce, and the pork. The slaw and pork are inside the bun and it makes a hearty sandwich. I am not a BBQ fan so I ate the sandwich without any sauce. The pork was tender and the cole slaw added the liquid I needed to make an OK sandwich. I also got an iced tea. Service was very good given she was responsible for the whole placed, albeit not very large. It's good to have a place to stop in Tecopa that is dependable in their hours. The pulled pork sandwich for $16.00 came with chips and a lovely vinegar BBQ sauce. A slaw was served on the sandwich. It was excellent with a local beer. We returned later that evening just to hang out and drink. Great little spot. I will caution that the chili here had what looked like the pulled pork in it but was mostly beans. Absolutely magnificent -- Joe has smoke in his veins! I was headed for an overnight at the hot springs and arrived too early for check in, so took a moment to hang out for a brew and a bite. Tiny little place with a 70s roadside vibe. I ordered the War Eagle IPA and a baked potato loaded with brisket. They totally delivered. That potato was moist and fluffy, and heaped with all the fixings, then topped with a juicy rich buttery 3/4" slab of brisket with a good 1/2" fat cap. I sat outside with a couple other fair travelers, and enjoyed one of the best meals I've had in weeks. The War Eagle was double hopped and I think the beast was an 8% -- absolutely snappy, dry, and delicious. Joe odd super pleasant, warm, and engaging. Oops! I just realized my last review was for the OTHER brewery in Tecopa --I got them mixed up. What are ya gonna do? There are more breweries per capita in Tecopa than any other town, so it's easy to get mixed up :-p I give this place five stars too, though!! I don't come here for beer, as I'm not a beer drinker, but they also happen to serve amazing BBQ -- which, believe it or not, I'm not much of a BBQ eater, either. SOOOO, you might wonder why I would give it five stars then?? Well, that's because of their amazing baked potatoes and sides! You can get a baked potato topped with any type of BBQ meat or chili, and I always get a side of coleslaw and a side of cornbread, too. And it's freaking AWESOME!! Seriously, one of my favorite meals, anywhere! They also have a nice outdoor patio where you can sit and watch the sunset over the old Quonset hut laundromat across the way --which the laundromat, and the busted old truck in front of it, are always ready for all of your Instagram fantasies. Google took us through Tecopa to avoid traffic on the 15 heading back to SoCal from Vegas today. Got lucky and saw John outside Death Valley Brewery so stopped and said hello. He was closed and suggested we take the fork in the road and when we see the windmill at 2-miles, if there's cars parked, stop in for a beer. We did, for a flight of all 5 on tap, a couple of pints, Belgium Witt, the best brisket we've ever had with beans and slaw. No luck in Vegas but we got lucky when we found this hidden gem! Would like to thank Jen for AWESOME service and hospitality, she recommended we take a walk up to the resort for a tour, thanks Mora. We booked a trailer and heading back Saturday. Small, unassuming barbecue spot. Prices are a little high for the portion size, especially with the mandatory 18% tip due to COVID (even for to-go orders). There was outdoor dining but the tables and chairs are pretty dirty. The tables don't get wiped down between guests even though it's "table service" and not counter service. The service was decent, there was one server handling the whole show and she was friendly/efficient. Unfortunately, they ran out of ribs when we were there so we didn't get to try it. We got the brisket and pulled pork instead. I really liked their barbecue sauce and how it wasn't too sweet/smoky like typical sauces. It was a little acidic and complimented the meats very well! Corn Bread 5/5 - Delicious! Pulled Pork 4.5/5 - Really good, moist and flavorful Brisket 3.5/5 - A little dry, I've had better Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream 3.5/5 - Very milky but not very vanilla-y. This guy doesn't need to be on a reality BBQ box show. No wonder he's way out in the middle of nowhere. You have to get out here because the brisket is the most insanely & tastiest ,most importantly the tastes buds just marries it all together. His Bomb dipping sauce is amazing & Chili is excellent along with the honey cornbread ,it's to die for, Don't wait too long because it's a 100% thee best BBQ I've tasted yet. There's another BBQ in Beatty NV and it holds nothing compared to Tecopa brewery BBQ. Try the healing hot springs & while you're out here, go out to China Date farms & get you a date ice cream shake. This is the best BBQ you will find in California. There. I said it. I finally found bbq in California that stands up to the Deep South standard. Granted, I have not had every bbq joint in California. But I have tried lots of them in SoCal...this place is, by a good margin, the best! Thank you for serving me your delicious pulled pork and brisket!!! For me, a bbq joint is judged on pulled pork. It's the reason I eat bbq. Their meat stands alone. You'll need nothing else. Their bbq sauce is very simple and light. The kind of sauce you want when there's no need to hide anything you've done poorly at the smoker. Plus, why take up any space with stuff that ain't meant?! My buds tell me: cayenne pepper, apple cider vinegar and sugar (which you could leave out ;-) are the heavy hitters. Which is a basic and near perfect combo for properly smoked pork. The brisket was incredible. Succulent goodness that will leave you desperate for more. Go to this place. It's in the middle of nowhere, quite literally. Bring water to your customers in the hot desert, please. Don't charge them $3 for a plastic bottle of water. You need to get a water filter and put water on the tables! Duh. Don't run out of stuff that belongs in the items on the menu and not care about that like it doesn't matter. You are 1/2 hour away from the stores in Pahrump... go there when you need stuff. People will come back if your portions are bigger. Don't charge a fortune and expect your guests to eat like birds. read more

Great bbq and beer place located in a pretty scenery area. The outdoor seating is the best. The indoor seating is classic. The meat was well prepared and the cornbread with honey butter was also good. There is no tap water by the way. Got dinner here one night while staying in Tecopa! I'm usually not a BBQ fan but this place was delicious! I ordered the brisket sandwich! The sauce they use is amazing! The brisket was so tender and flavorful. I tried the Corn bread and it was delicious. The beer was great as well! I can't remember the name of the beer but it was a lemonade and BudLight mixture. The server was very friendly and full of information. Keep in mind that there's no AC inside. They have outdoor seating and it was cool in the shade. Definitely recommend this place. read more

I discovered this gem on a tip from a friend who had stopped there after traveling through Death Valley. I love BBQ, and have had the privilege of eating BBQ across Texas. I have to say that the brisket at Tecopa Brewing Co was fantastic. We arrived late afternoon, which can be a bust at BBQ joints. Despite the late time, the brisket was tender and juicy, with a nicely spiced bark. We tried a flight of beer, which I'd say was average to decent for craft beer. The beans were yummy as well. If you are black, don't come here. The owners don't want their children associating with black people, so don't support them with your money. My wife and I were finishing our meal (mediocre and overpriced) minding our own business when the owners 3 year old daughter came up to my black wife and said "Don't tell daddy, but he said that I'm not supposed to talk to black people." This is a 3 year old child. I spoke to both the husband and wife owners about this and they both got defensive rather than concerned. In my experience with children, a 3 year old doesn't just come up with ideas like this on their own. She was taught it, and it's pretty obvious who taught it to her. Do not support this establishment. Racists don't deserve your money. The same people also own the adjacent hot springs resort, "delight." Avoid this place as well. Came here on our way back home from Pahrump. Glad we stopped in. The owners are very nice and greeted us right when we came in. The place is eclectic, clean, and casual. The menu is small and basic but really what they have on the menu they do well. We got the brisket sandwich (coleslaw included on sandwich) which comes with your choice of chips and the meat plate which you choose if you want the pulled pork or the brisket. The meat plate comes with a summer salad of blackberries, strawberries, blueberries, green and red peepers, pomegranate seeds, onions, and spinach with a herbed balsamic vinaigrette. Also comes with coleslaw and baked beans. They also have a lot of drink choices to choose from. We felt the brisket was moist and tender with great flavor. The pulled pork was a little dry but still good and tender. I wasn't expecting the beans to be baked beans but they were good. Would love to see more of a smoked bbq beans but like I said before the baked beans worked. Their bbq sauce leans to more of a North Carolina style but very flavorful and worked with the meat. This is my favorite place to stop and eat when I'm staying at Delight's Hot Spring Resort. I love everything on the menu. Smoked ham, brisket, pulled pork, and their fancy coleslaw are just a few of my favorites. If you come for breakfast you have to try their pulled pork mcmuffin. If you like chili you have to try theirs. I have never tried something here that I didn't like. The service is amazing. The place is clean. I feel like I am home when I am here. Friendly family run business. I learn a little more about Tecopa every time I dine here. There are always stories being told about the history of the town. I have been visiting this town for years now and have always had to bring my own food because of the lack of good food in Tecopa. I am now pleased to say I don't have to pack my cooler because I will be dining here every stay as long as they are open. read more

Oh. My. WORD! THIS PLACE IS INCREDIBLE! This place legitimately had some of the best barbecue I have ever had in my LIFE. I was absolutely blown away. I don't know how a place like this opened in the small Oasis of Tecopa, CA but I'm not complaining. When we walked in the place was basically empty except for a couple at a large round table. They invited us to sit with them and we gladly did because we're always down to make connections. They ended up being a couple traveling together and they were staying at Delights for the weekend. Super nice people. They had a small beer selection. I ended up ordering an organic lager, but I can't for the life of me remember the name of it. We ordered coleslaw, the brisket, some chili, and the cornbread with honeybutter. Their barbecue sauce is vinegar based and thin, which is my favorite. I do not like thick, sweet barbecue sauces. The coleslaw was incredible, it was an oil and vinegar slaw. I've never had anything like it, and I am drooling now as a reminisce on it. The brisket was the most tender and succulent brisket I've ever had the pleasure of eating. A seemingly clean, casual, and relaxed place with a large flatscreen tv for sports in the middle. We arrived around noon on a Sunday. I tried the brisket sandwich first. It was piled high with a lot of delicious, juicy chopped up Brisket and coleslaw, it came with a South Carolina style vinegar bbq sauce on the side (5 Stars). Tried the baked beans and the corn bread with honey butter also (5 Stars). Tried the Chili (2 Stars) I prefer kidney beans or no beans over pinto beans and spicier, hotter chili, but it was fresh tasting with chopped tomatoes and red onions and cheese as toppings. At 7$ for a Bowl they should offer Hot Sauce (tip to owner). I took off a star because the server never brought my drink order...I had ordered their beer flight sampler which he neglected to serve, but however it still ended up on my bill. That was quite disappointing, I really was looking forward to trying their different craft beers, more than likely it was an honest mistake as it was quite packed inside with hungry customers and the only server did seem apologetic over it when it was brought to his attention. A perfect place to come if you're staying overnight at one of the hot springs. I was at the campground across the road. It's a short walk even lugging your laptop. Their beer is good. I had the chili, it was very good, and there was a Warriors game on the tv. The place has a nice, homey, community feel to it, as remote places often do. Not sure what she ordered but she was waiting ever since we walked in. We almost were about to leave when the waiter came to take out order. We ordered the 2 of the 1/2 lb of beef brisket plates with beans and corn bread muffins.The beef was a little dry. The beans were meh. The corn bread muffins were the only thing I enjoyed they came with homemade butter. Also the "waiter" was extremely slow and disappeared half way through our meal so the cook started taking customer orders and running peoples credit card/handling money as well as cooking all while using the same gloves. They do not have a credit card machine so they use a iPhone with a credit card scanner which I am ok with but the lady before us wasn't to happy about because they could only email receipts. We waited forever for the waiter to come back to get us some boxes for our food. We asked for a lid for our beans and they were out of lids. We wanted to order desert, brownie with ice cream, well they were out of ice cream and we ended up not ordering desert.
