I had to have 3 cavities drilled and filled with dr. K. I have a very pronounced phobia of needles and so the process was bound to be very traumatic as it required several anesthetic shots in my gums. Dr. K knew this and so he took extra care to make sure I was as comfortable as possible; we talked about the procedure and he was communicative and checked in with me a lot. He told me several stories of his time in Vermont to try and relax+distract me. I have never had such an attentive doctor. As far as super unpleasant dental procedures go, this one was as bearable as possible. I am super grateful for his willingness to put in the extra work to make dental procedures much less scary. In follow-up fillings and similar procedures, he has handed me a mirror so I could have the option to see what was going on, if I wanted, and also always tried to do it without anesthetic shots when possible. In terms of dental hygienist, Mai is great. I like that she is a pleasant conversationalist but also very straight to the point. She lets me pick what toothbrush color I want :) read more

My family-- young adult children and older adults-- really appreciate this doctor and his whole office. We have been coming here for about 10 years. The doctor does a great job with fillings and other fixes. We have one person who is super afraid of needles and Dr Ted was patient and gentle. She was totally fine through the whole thing. The doctor also fixed an uneven filling that another doctor had done poorly, and fitted me for an Invisalign retainer. Mai is an amazing dental hygienist. My teeth are clean and she is gentle. She's always on time, too Terri is the office manager and she rocks. She is pleasant, smart, helpful. She responds quickly to emails and phone calls and helps us navigate insurance ( or lack of insurance). read more

I don't know how to evaluate doctors. - Dr. Ted may not be the best/only good dentist that I know, but it's after him I finally started getting treatments. While many other dentists told me that my teeth had lots of problems, he is the only one who told me the good parts of my teeth and put them in step-by-step treatments. read more

My old dentist retired a few years ago and I wasn't able to find a place I felt comfortable, but Ruth made me feel very comfortable for my appointment. I have had a lot of questionable experiences over the years at other places but this dental facility is clean, staff is friendly, professional and straight forward about pricing and requirements. I used to go to a dentist in San Francisco, but after a few family members switched to Dr. Ted and have raved about how great he is, I decided to jump on board. I walk in to the office.. A girl named Rachel greets me from the front desk with an "Oh my god you look JUST LIKE YOUR MOM!" Seconds later another lady named Terri walked into the room saying the same thing, and we were all nearly hugging. After getting set up with first time patient paperwork and chatting a little, I was led into one of the dentist rooms where I was to get my teeth cleaned. A hygienist named Mike cleaned my teeth. He was really nice, gentle and pretty funny. After x rays came DR. Ted! There is something about his voice that makes me calm right down. He did a very thorough exam of my teeth and then announced that i have 7 CAVITIES!!!!!!!!!! This is the FUN part of my review.. I had just BEEN to my SF dentist a little less than a year ago. So obviously, in shock, I asked Dr. Ted if these had formed in the last year... ...yes i love my sweets... but i don't run a chocolate factory..... and he said, "These have been here for a while.." I appreciate that he didn't trash talk my previous dentist, but everyone in the room understood that this was an obvious case of previous malpractice :( Anyway, the office was able to get me in for all 7 cavities in one week. Even though I spent most of my visit home as a chipmunk, I was very pleased with the work. Not that I am a cavity expert... but I AM a wuss... and they did a great job keeping me calm, not hurting me at all, and doing a thorough job on my teeth. Bottom line, I trust Dr. Ted. Everyone was super nice and so professional with all the procedure explanations to me. These guys are great!! I'm from Sacramento and got my wisdom teeth pulled and was experiencing some severe pain. Called Sunday night and they were able to squeeze me in Monday morning for an appointment. It was also in a very accessible location for me to get to because I work down the street. The receptionist was extremely helpful and friendly and I was so grateful that they were able to fit me in. I have this terrible terrible fear of dentists, but Dr. Krzywicki and his staff are WONDERFUL. From the moment I walked in they were very friendly and concerned. They have a very "welcoming" enviornment. Dr. Krzywicki was AWESOME he was very gentle, careful, and was friendly. He had to give me shots and I didn't even feel it. I had to go back to him 3 days in a row to get my sockets filled and every time he was friendly and gentle and the whole experience was very pleasant. His assistant was wonderful as well she even held my hand during my shots. :) (as i said before i'm completely terrified of the dentist) but Dr. Krzywicki and his staff really changed my view. I've been a patient here since I was 3 years old. As an adult and with a family of my own I've had difficulty keeping up with dental appointments and it has been quite a while since I was seen my Dr. Ted. About a month ago I had a bridge fall out on a Saturday. I went to another office and had a horrifying experience. Dr. Ted saw me right away and helped turn everything around. Dr. Kryzwicki is the original dentist with regard to service. Have a toothache in the middle of the night - he'll be down at his office. He really, really cares about his patients and his community. I was recommended this office by my daughters' pediatric dentist and I am SO VERY GLAD that I listened! Ruth usually does my cleanings with laughter and confidence. She gives me great advice, doesn't lecture me for not flossing enough and listens when I voice any concerns. Dr. Ted has a voice that will calm any ruffled feathers. I am not a fan of needles or those that use them in a professional way, but he keeps me relaxed and not agitated, which is a feat in itself. Was eating dinner on Tuesday night when I noticed that I had chipped my tooth and was really stressed out over the matter. Made a call to the Dentist's office on Wednesday morning and the front desk receptionist Terri was able to pull some strings and get me an appointment right away! Dr. Ted, Terri, and his assistant Rachel were very understanding, kind and VERY professional towards me during my visit and sent me on my way in a very timely matter. I had been seeing the same dentist for over 20 years in Fremont... The same dentist my mom and grandparents had seen. Eventually I got tired of driving all the way into Fremont (Mission San Jose) for my visits but I was hesitant to change. After reading some reviews and a referral by an orthodontist, I took a chance on Dr Ted. From the first visit, Ruth & Dr Ted were amazing and very personable (as was Terri who runs the front office). Ruth was gentle and she has a great personality, and she'll never ask you questions while the instruments are in your mouth... She actually pulls away so you can answer her :) When taking x-rays the equipment is in the same room as your cleaning so you stay in the same room for all your procedures. Dr Ted even fixed my broken permanent retainer once although I was there just for a cleaning. Here's where it gets better! During one of the visits to have my childhood silver fillings replaced with white fillings, I was also in the process of getting full custody of my nephew. The stress caused me to have anxiety over situations that were so easy for me in the past. While Dr Ted & Shauntelle were so good during that procedure, I did have a mini panic-attack at feeling trapped in the chair. I didn't tell them and thankfully I left the procedure just fine! Fast forward to my next scheduled cleaning. I canceled it, from the fear of another panic attack. Fast forward to the final appt to replace silver feelings. I canceled. Before I knew it, I had skipped 2 more cleanings in order to avoid the situation that brought about previous panic. Now, dont get me wrong, I love my teeth and am very good about taking care of them so I said "enough is enough" and made an appointment for cleaning (after more than a year!) A little embarrassed, I explained to Ruth my fear... and she was so reassuring! She asked me several times if I was ok, reminded me to breathe, and offered similar experiences. When Dr Ted came in to check my teeth she actually explained to him my anxiety issues and why I had been out. He stopped from examining me, took off his gloves & glasses, and also told me of his similar feelings during situations that he didn't expect. They found a way to connect with me and make me feel comfortable rather than a weirdo. Needless to say I did not have any anxiety during this visit. Dr Ted said he would change the local anesthetic used when I replaced my remaining two fillings. The other anesthetic will not affect my heart rate. This experience confirmed I made the right choice in choosing this office. I love them all! Oh, and my teeth were in really good condition despite my year hiatus. Woot, woot!! read more

Mai cleaned my teeth yesterday and found no work to be done. Dr. Ted confirmed my teeth are great, and no work needs to be done. It was just me. I wanted that mercury out, and I finally found a dentist I could trust to do it gently and correctly. Dr. Ted and Shantel numbed me up completely, and we had some fun with the little blue rubber sheet that was used to isolate my mercury tooth. They took out the mercury and replaced it with a filling which color matches to my tooth completely. Dr. Ted has a voice that can calm you down in seconds, and then keep you calm throughout. I highly recommend him and his impressive team. read more

Absolutely the BEST dentist I've ever visited! We moved here from the midwest and I thought our previous dentist was good. That was before I went to Dr Krzywicki. He is the most professional, courtious and thorough dentist I've found. Everyone on his staff went out of their way to make me feel comfortable, and Terri was so helpful with all of the insurance concerns. I had a tooth break on a Sunday. Dr K took time out of his day off with his daughter to consult me and arrange an appointment first thing Monday morning. I went in, he set me up with an amazing temporary crown to last so I could get back to my travels. When I get back in town he will replace it with a new one. I was so impressed with the entire organization. lets just say for fun that it may have been several years since i really had had my teeth worked on and the last time I had prior to Dr Teds office lets pretend I had a Laundry list of work to do. Then add a few years and I came to met Dr Ted, Rachel, Ruth and miss Terri. Not only did the entire staff do an excellent job in repairing my almost unrepairable mouth they are doing and excellent job in maintaining them now and certaintly in the future. The entire staff is professional courteous and very skilled just nice people. I didn't have any dental insurance and chipped my tooth! I waited till morning and then scrambled to try and find a dentist to take me before work. After calling a few offices, I called this office and they told me to come right in. The entire office treated me like family. So warm and helpful. Dr. Kryzwicki came in the office from grocery shopping just to patch me up. He was gentle, fast and told me stories of his children while he was working. I am irrationally afraid of dental visits, because of unpleasant memories of painful dental treatments I received as a child. I floss and brush religiously daily, hoping to avert a visit to the dentist. Having transplanted from the Midwest and new in the area, we did not have a dentist. We were glad to get a referral from a friend when my husband's partial denture broke, for the third or fourth time since its installation. He had the repairs done in a well-appointed dental facility which boasted state-of-the-art equipment. Alas, a month later, the partial broke off again. This time, another friend referred my husband to Dr. Ted. Frustrated by the inconvenience, pain, as well as time and financial investment he had already endured on account of his ill-fitting denture, he braced himself for more of the same. The 'repair' turned out to be extensive, primarily because my husband agreed with Dr. Ted's recommendation and went for a new and more permanent solution. The work was done expertly and efficiently at a reasonable cost. My husband came home after each visit and sang high praises of Dr. Ted's experience and expertise. He was also very complimentary of his courteous office staff, among them, Terri and Shansel. So when I broke one of my crowns, Dr. Ted was my top-of-mind turn-to guy. The moment I sat in that dentist chair with the interrogation light focused on my face, I fessed up to Dr. Ted...I was petrified. The soft-spoken but confident Dr. Ted thanked me for letting him know of my concerns, and assured me with conviction that he would do everything in his power to make me feel at ease. Well, he did just that. He shared with me stories of his grandma, and even of himself being nervous when a dentist friend worked on him. Dr. Ted is a second generation dentist. His father was a dentist. His mother worked as a dental hygienist in the family practice. Dr. Ted lived and breathed dentistry. He has no doubt had his fair share of patients with dental phobia, a fact that made me less self-conscious of my irrational fear. Throughout the visit, with a relaxed tone, he explained each step of the procedure to me and the purpose of it, and made sure I was numb before the work began. As it turned out, the procedure was truly painless, and the result greatly enhances my smile. Is my apprehension completely eradicated? Not quite yet, but almost there. I am actually looking forward to my next visit to Dr. Ted! By the way, Terri at reception is one of the nicest persons you can ever hope to have working in a dentist's office--efficient, cheerful, and so accommodating. Also merit mentioning--while waiting for the local anesthetics to kick in, I was impressed with the small talk Dr. Ted had with his dental hygienist Shansel. It was not your typical boss to subordinate communication. It's more like a caring chat between family members. What great rapport this team must have. Judging from what I observed and experienced, Dr. Ted is a compassionate and skillful professional. Glad to have him as my family dentist. read more
