I love you Teddy B's... This is the kind of place that you shouldn't judge by the looks because the outside and inside can scare you away but just give it a chance and you'll fall in love. Burgers were huge and juicy, totter tots also thick n crunchy! I'm so happy they re opened and honestly the remodeling is nice from the last time I've been here. Now peek at this shiny bun!

I tried Teddy B's after numerous recommendations from a Facebook group I'm in and it definitely lived up to the hype! The location is attached to a gas station. The inside has a few tables to sit at so it does get full fairly quickly. My only complaint was that the music was a little loud. The food here is delicious! I had a chili dog and fries. The dog was grilled and layered with a good amount of chili and cheese. My daughter got the grilled cheese that had a nicely toasted bread. We'll definitely be back and look forward to trying new items.

Wanted a burger and found this place on Yelp and decided to try. It is a food truck in a gas station parking lot with a shaded sitting area. I would say this burger falls within the top 5 best cheeseburgers IVE EVER HAD!! This place feels like a typical hole in the wall, but absolutely lives up to the hype! I decided to get the bacon cheeseburger with the works and tater tots. I added chili and cheese to the tater tots because frankly it's been a rough day. I got back to my home and realized they did forget it, but since I lived close I just went back. I thought they would just give me the chili and cheese in a cup, but they made me a whole new order of tater tots all together!! The service from the staff was absolutely amazing! They have some of the most friendly employees I have seen in food service in a while. Overall, I will be making this a weekly go-to!! Some of the best food i've had since moving to San Antonio!

First impression was thinking it's part of the gas station.. but it's not at all that. It was empty when we entered. We were able to read the menu with so much ease . Huge menu to choose from. We decided on Mushrooms Swiss burger with bacon and tots, as well as a Chili Cheese Hotdog. Everything was made really fresh but didn't take too long. They really didn't have a huge drink option as far as sodas. I loved that it was a juicy huge burger with lots of mushrooms lettuce and cheese just like I like it. My husband ordered the chili cheese dog. Very hardy beef hot dog with plenty of sauce. Love the food was hot and fresh. The only thing I can say is I wish my beef had alittle more seasoning but otherwise it was a very enjoyable lunch. There was music on but not to loud where you couldn't hear each other. Definitely would go back for a burger and going to try corn in a cup

Teddy B's is located pretty close to where I live and I never knew how much good food was just a drive down the road!! This place is very unassuming being attached to the side of a gas station. The isn't much room to sit down and eat and they've moved all of their dining tables due to Covid so Takeout is the best option. The menu here is crazy extensive. You can buy just about anything here it feels like. The food did take a while (40 min) from when we ordered but was worth the wait. Staff was kind of brisk when I asked them a few questions since it was my first time. Choose the Bristo Burger on sourdough bread with avocado and mushrooms. Yum! Homemade ingredients and you can taste them. The Mangonada was on point, alternating levels of chamoy and mango ice. And not overdone on the amount of chamoy. I'd eat one of these every night if I could. Worth the try!

Not going to lie this place is my guilty pleasure when it comes to cheat days. Their whole menu is amazing but I love the Texas burger. The burger is pretty big and juicy and all the flavors mixed in.. ugh.. Chefs Kiss. I love this little hole in the wall. It's literally located on the side/inside the gas station. If you're in the area, try it. You won't regret it. They also have fruit cups and dessert options as well. read more

In from El Paso, looking for the "Best Burger(s) in San Antonio, and FOUND IT! My wife, son (college grad living here who says he and his friends will now frequent Teddy B's), and I were more then pleasantly pleased with this place (a food truck now, with a small eating area outside, outside their restaurant while the remodeling gets finished)! We ordered the BRSKET SANDWICH (excellent flavor, cooked to perfection, hefty portion ), the BRITNEY BURGER (fabulous combination of a chicken breast, angus patty, bacon, cheese, avocado, and their fixin's ), the PHILLY CHEESESTEAK (cooked to perfection, great flavor, hefty portion of grilled steak, melted cheese, grilled onions and peppers ), which all came with choice of TOTS OR FRIES, and an order of their DORANITOS (outstanding and creative mixture of Doritos Nacho chips, nacho cheese, coita cheese, cut corn , and crema )! Got the bacon cheeseburger...EXCELLENT! Bun was toasted perfectly, nice patty, not overly greasy but not dry either...bacon was cooked just right...not 'wiggly chewy' but doesn't shatter when bitten and toppings were fresh! My greatest of grand children will eat here. Every time I pull up I get a hot Cheeto n cheese burger and it slaps every time. Around $20 for me and my girl to eat our cravings away ain't bad. We discovered this place after leaving Six Flags, it's a must try especially after working up an appetite. We tried burgers, fries, tots, nacho hot Cheetos, strawberry shaved ice and lastly the funnel cake. I preferred the tots over fries, because they were perfectly crispy. The funnel cake was BOMB! A few suggestions have some napkins out on tables and smiling and making suggestions on menu items goes a long way. read more

I had a co worker very passionately tell me this was the best burger in San Antonio. After reading the great Yelp reviews I decided to give it a try but I gotta say I'm not sure what the hype is about. At all. I would choose shake shack or in and (and many others) over this place any day. My biggest turn off was the cooking area looked filthy. I'm not sure how they scored 100 on their health score last month but they would notttt have been able to get that score today. One of the employees repeatedly touched his face mask with gloves on while preparing food. To add to the unappetizing cleanliness standards, the burger and fries just weren't good. It takes like it's been frozen and is comparable to something you would get at a hospital cafeteria. Will not be returning :( read more

I used to visit the previous place called the Shack and when I moved back to the area I was so sad to see that it wasn't there anymore. Still went in to check it out and was so happy to see that they still offered the same menu! The picadilly from there is my favorite, along with snow cones elote and hot Cheetos ! This place is the real deal. The location will throw you off with it being in a gas station. If your patient and really love a mom and pop style hamburger this is the real deal!! Everyone that we have recommended to Teddys has told me they agree it's the best burgers in San Antonio. I want to try other things on there menu but I cant get passed the double bacon cheeseburger with fries. The way it's decorated and painted just makes it a perfect hole in the wall and authentic down right bad ass place to eat!! read more

Oh my goodness . I'm still impressed , second time was even better than the first . And big improvement on the time it took to get my food . I'm not sure the name of the person that took my order but he was very nice . I also told him I had a service dog and it was best if I sat in my truck and he had someone bring me my order to my truck . That gentleman was also very nice . When I crave a burger, this is my go to place. They have a nice big selection and also carry a lot items you normally don't find in a burger place (raspas, corn in a cup, churros... I could go on and on). Don't let the location fool you (it's attached to a gas station). Worth the try! read more

THE FOOD: I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich deluxe with tots and a sweet tea. The grilled chicken was juicy and cooked well and the bun was lovely, slightly sweet and toasted. Overall, the sandwich could've used more flavor, like a creamy bbq spread and cheddar instead of the "Swiss" cheese that tasted more like American cheese. But overall, 7/10. The tots were extra crispy and the guy who took my order didn't take heed to my request for ranch. I was too lazy to get up again so I settled for ketchup. The sweet tea was nicely sweet and fresh, I'll be sipping this in my dreams. The hubby ordered the bacon cheeseburger with chili cheese fries and an Oreo cookie shake. The burger looked good and he ate it quick, so there's that. This guy can EAT so it surprised us both when he slowed down fast after eating that burger. Lol! He kept saying how filling it was, but then he also killed a large shake before the food arrived, so there's that. He ate most of his chili cheese fries, leaving me a few bites to sample. Not bad. I order a Coco Haven frozen dessert to go and omg is this thing delightful! Vanilla ice cream and coconut Italian ice (?) with a blue snow cone-like syrup drizzled throughout. I loved the texture of what I believed to be Italian ice. Smooth and flaky, a perfect icy dessert. OVERALL: decent eatery, the hubby said we can go back (LOL!) Shockerrrrr! But I recommend the staff tries harder to make customers feel welcomed and comfortable. The next visit will be telling.

Ordered the Wake and Bacon burger. I also ordered a Topo Chico, which was also met with a blank "are you from this planet?" stare. How do you not have Topo Chico or something similar !? The burger was just okay. Tiny, but tasty. Fries were so salty and over-seasoned as to be almost inedible. No one checked on me after bringing me my burger. Not one time. The only reason I gave the third star: neat, dog friendly outside area which would be cool for a group outing. Probably not going back.

Update to first review below, rating updated from a 3 to a 5 star (drinks & bartender would get 10+…read morestars if we could rate that high): Saturday night: Went back for after dinner drinks at the Downstairs (a "speakeasy" throwback, look up the history of the place to see why). Drinks were AMAZING! Bartender Rob made the best Negroni I've ever had. I asked him to use whatever gin he thought best--result was an artistic smooooooth full-bodied drink. Told him when I was done I'd lick the glass if it wasn't considered so uncouth for a 'mature' lady like myself to do so Hubby's Buffalo Trace bourbon old fashioned was also outstanding. Rob was the bartender last night who did such a great job, and his work was even better tonight. We highly recommend The EsquireTavern for excellent cocktails. We love the long wood bar and high copper ceiling upstairs, but love the intimate speakeasy atmosphere downstairs even more. We'll definitely be back every time we're in San Antonio! First review, Friday night: Drinks were great (Manhattan and Bourbon Old Fashioned). REAL drinks, no complaints at all about those. And the bartenders were very friendly and helpful. Those aspects of the Esquire get 5+ stars from us. But the appetizers were not good, close to inedible. It was about 8:30pm or so, so maybe they were getting ready to close out the kitchen but the chalupitas with chicken tasted like rubber, and no flavor at all. The seafood platter had something in it that was breading with shell inside, but no meat of any kind. We couldn't figure out what it was supposed to be. The shrimp was good and the fish was good but those other things... We'll always love the drinks, the long wooden bar, and the ambiance at the Esquire Tavern, but we'll eat somewhere else and come here for before or after dinner drinks. Dan and the sweet old lady who has been holding the fort down for as long as I've gone. Sure there are no French fries; the burger makes up for it. They give you a bag of chips, have Mexican coke to wash your food down: there's 2 TVs which Dan will usually be airing whichever sporting event is going on. Dan puts a lot of care in his craft and the fact he does this as a side gig, is hella impressive! Come give this place a try! One of the best burgers you'll have in town!

The grilled veggies this go around were onions, mushrooms, broccoli, zucchini, red and green bell peppers and a couple of jalapeño slices. I remarked to the server that they should lose the bell peppers and beef up the broccoli and zucchini. He says it kind of depends on who is cooking as to what veggies you get. Hmmmm. Overall, it was pretty good. Give it a try.

This was good but lacking a bit of flavor, however she and I both agreed that was on her for taking the jalapeños off the dog. Both dogs were extremely tasty, and we devoured both. I also got an order of curly fries loaded with their chili and cheese. For me, these did not have to go as HARD as they did. The chili they are using at Dogfather is seriously good, with a slight tang and a good amount of spice. It thrills but does not take away from your meal with too much heat. Very tasty. My only feedback is that Dogfather needs a larger space! There's a good size outside seating area, but for times like today when it's raining people need some coverage. They're doing it right and the crowds want to come! As I have stated this is a local favorite. If you live nearby, make it a regular spot. If you live in San Antonio, do yourself a favor and make a trip over at least sometimes. If you like hot dogs you won't go wrong.

The recurring major flaw, is the way the restaurant inside was designed. It is beautiful but made with all hard surfaces. Nothing present to absorb sounds. As a result sounds inside magnify to a point our servers have had to bend over or take a knee to gather clients food orders during busy times. I feel like I am ar a big Spurs game with the sound bouncing around. Those at our table have had a hard time to have a conversation with each other at times. The small room up front is designed so sound bouncing off hard surfaces is worst in this room. I have had to ask to be relocated twice from this room due the sound level. The kitchen area in the front do not have doors to abd from the kitcgen to the dinibg rooms. Another design flaw, as a result the seating areas loud sound comes into the kitchen area. I can not imagine how the staff communicate to each other in this work setting.

I had the pleasure of dining at Teddy B's a few months ago, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The service was impeccable, with the staff going above and beyond to make sure every aspect of our meal was perfect. The ambiance was warm and inviting, making it a great place for both casual dining and special occasions. Now, onto the food - it was nothing short of spectacular. We are a family of six and the price is reasonable and the food is a 10 out of 10 but the wait time is a seven out of 10 pack your patience but it's pretty good if you're not in a rush this is the good place to eat but don't come here if you're looking for speed because this is not the place but there is a McDonald's right next-door Philly cheese steaks are awesome plus corn in the cup is an option instead of fries!! Went here for the very first time with friends and the food was awesome. It was probably the best burger ive ever had. They had a huge variety that would make anyones mouth water. They carried so much things thats hard to find. They had raspa(shaved ice), burgers, dogs, sandwiches, nachos, wraps and lots more. I would recommend TeddyBs to anyone and everyone. Looks are deceiving just because it is attached to a gas station doesn't mean it's not good. It has the best burgers in town, better than 5 guys and with the heat I added a snow cone I must say they didn't even mess up the ice to syrup ratio. I even took a large cup of fruit to go for a healthy snack while I ran errands, they cut up the fruit right then and there. Best part I found out as I left, they have a drive through window. This is easily my favorite burger place in town. We initially would only order for delivery, which was good, but when we actually decided to go and eat there it became my favorite. Don't be fooled by the gas station exterior, the burgers and fries/tots are the real deal- and crazy deliciousl! Super friendly guys, and they have every hot sauce you could want out for you to use.
