A Salty disappointment....My wife and I were in the area from out of state. We had read that this was the local place to go for fish. I can summarize our experience with a single word. SALT! We ordered 2 fish and a chips and an order of fried oysters. The fish and chips were less than average, included was what looked like a low quality short hotdog bun and fries. My fish was salty. The fish and scallops were really good - the batter was nice thin and crunchy. It was all made fresh after I ordered. I gave 4 stars becuase it is complicated to get items without sides and we asked for double cole slaw and got fries. They dont have cocktail sauce but they do have an interesting chile pepper alternative. Great local business, we will go again. read more

A great fish fry - and I don't even love fried foods. We stopped here on our way to Montreal and enjoyed, well, fried fish sandwiches. There were 8 of us, so we tried a variety of items and everyone agreed that all was tasty. The service was also really commendable. Delicious fish fry!! I came to Albany to visit my cousin asking for fish tacos and she brought me to Ted's. I loved it so much that we came back again before I left. The first visit, we got the fish tacos which has the signature fried fish and the dinner plate. The fish is just so well seasoned that it can be eaten alone or with the tarter sauce. I found myself just eating the fish by itself without any sauce. The second time we came back we also tried the buffalo chicken and the loaded fries which are pretty tasty too but I personally don't care too much for it. The person at the counter is always friendly and makes conversation, and actually acknowledges the guests presence. There is one guy that knows my order as soon as I walk in the door! This is my second time going in on a Sunday and the girl they have taking orders is awful. She has looked miserable both times, never even said hello, and just stared at me when I was ready to order. I didn't even know she was done with the people in front of me because of this. I said thank you-nothing. I just think she is not bringing the reputation this business is known for whatsoever.
