Filet Oskar Asparagus Hollandaise Mango and Sausage Mushrooms
    Jessica L.

Great local steakhouse! I love that it brings you back to a classy simple time, before Nashville had all these big chain steakhouses. The steak was cooked exactly how I liked it. I got the filet with their house steak sauce. We also got the asparagus and mushrooms. The mushrooms were so unique and sweet with the mango. I like that all steaks come with a salad. The service was super friendly and helpful on what to choose.

My Husband and I came here for our 4th wedding anniversary. They got us seated right as we walked in and we felt secluded and private even though the dining room was full. Our server was a long-time employee and was very knowledgeable and made our menu selection easy! We got our picture taken and a hand written anniversary card with the printed photo. We loved every minute and the experience was one we won't forget.

Delicious as always! We l love our waiter, he guided us to some great new options. It was graduation weekend, so nice a busy, but such a fun atmosphere. We will never not promote Sperry's!

It is hard to argue with a restaurant that your parents have been going to for 40+ years because they are obviously doing something right. Sperrys has long been a Nashville staple and will continue to do so for many years to come. Any place that has a cold, fresh, salad bar with all the "fixins' " gets my vote. As you can see, I am a crouton and thousand island fan. Not much more to say about the salad bar besides more restaurants should have them. The mango/sausage stuffed mushrooms were incredible. The sweetness of the mango paired perfectly with the savory and umami flavors of the sausage and mushrooms, topped with a huge helping of cheese. The steak, cooked perfectly medium rare was good, not my favorite steak in Nashville but very consistent each time. There is something to be said about a place that never gets the "cook" wrong. If I had any suggestion for the steak itself it would just be more flavor/seasoning (salt/pepper). Who can forget the bread? Pretty standard loaf, nothing groundbreaking, just a consistently good taste. You have to order the banana foster, prepared table-side and not pictured but an amazing show and bite. This is not a blow your socks off restaurant, it isn't trying to be. No loud blaring music, not inspired by a Miami or New York interior designer. This is the place your mom and pop went, and your son and daughter should try. Just a very good restaurant, with good food and great prices.

Nicely decorated and bustling atmosphere. The prime rib and lamb chops were both terrific. The appetizers we tried were the crab cakes and shrimp cocktail. The crab cakes were top notch. The salad bar was popular and prices reasonable. We ordered the bananas foster for dessert and enjoyed the show. They didn't taste amazing, but it's fun to have. Parking is a catastrophe. The spots are too small for a mini cooper. So don't bring the SUV or pickup. The hostess was quite prompt and friendly. However, our waitress wasn't top notch. We found ourselves waiting on her and being skipped by multitudes of times. She wasn't cordial until delivering the check. The tip she received reflected the quality of service she rendered.

An amazing no-frills statehouse in Nashville! Old school ambiance, friendly/attentive service, large portions, and great steak for a great price. My husband ordered the prime rib and loved it. I ordered the crab cakes - everything was tasty! Will be back.

My boyfriend surprised me with a Sunday afternoon dinner at Sperry's recently and it truly was a great visit. The food was hot and tasty, the bananas fosters was one of the funnest table side experiences I've ever had, and the service was incredible. (I wish I could remember our waitresses name, she was amazing!) This place is private and small, it felt a lot like the nice steakhouses from my hometown in Missouri, and not so much like being in the middle of a huge city, which I loved. I would say the seating is a little tight and there's not much sound absorption so it was kind of hard to have a conversation because we couldn't hear each other well. Additionally, there's supposed to be a dress code so we showed up dresssed nicely and pretty excited for a formal night out and almost immediately after we were sat, a whole family was seated beside us with hoodies and uggs, ball caps, and leggings on. While that was mostly on the guests, it was kind of a vibe killer and I wish the dress code could be enforced a little more strictly. For any visitors, just do your research first and keep classy places classy. I wouldn't suggest the salad bar, personally. It was pretty plain, I had hopes of a little more variety. However, the lemon drop martini, steak, and garlic whipped mashed potatoes were so delicious! Overall, this is a great option with delicious food and fantastic service. A wonderful place for a classy, calm dinner out.

Sea bass with crab & sautéed spinach. Husband got the Rack of Lamb Dijon
    Meena W.

Of course we had to come back for more. Luckily they had this beaut of a dish today. I tried the sea bass, delightful! Super buttery & flakey. I usually stray from fish at restaurants because they tend to over cook but this was perfection. Again customer service was a 10/10. From the hostess who complimented my ensemble, our waiter who was attentive, to the gentleman who filled our water. Everyone was on point tonight. First restaurant visit of the new year & very pleased we spent it at Sperry's.

We started off with a round of champagne and a bottle of red wine for dinner. We tried a variety of dishes since we were told that the set up is family style: Hamachi Crudo: 10/10 one of the best I've ever had! Super fresh and the sauce paired well with it. Bluefin Tune Crudo: 8/10 It was really fresh and well prepared, but I've had better elsewhere. I typically prefer bluefin tuna sashimi or nigiri anyway. Tuna Crispy Rice: 9/10 This was such a fun and delicious way to eat spicy tuna! All of the seasonings made it packed full of flavor. Tomahawk Ribeye 9/10: This was insanely tender, and well seasoned. Tip: ask for lemon wedges to sprinkle some lemon juice on it--thank me later. Broccolini 8/10: well prepared, and I loved the lemongrass garlic chili that topped it East Side Shrimp 7/10: These were well cooked and well seasoned. Loved the salad placed underneath it. Wagyu Tartare 8/10: It was well prepared and loved that it's paired with nori and rice. Wished it had a bit more punch to it in terms of seasoning. Crab Fried Rice 8/10: this was delicious but still say it's a solid 8. Beautifully prepared! Korean Hot Wings 2.5/10: I could tell that it was well cooked, but it was insanely salty; it was practically inedible. Hurricane Fries 9/10: These were so delicious! You are immediately hit with the smell of truffle, which made my mouth water. Packed with flavor! Brussels 7/10: These were well roasted, but the sauce was a tad too sweet for my liking. I highly recommend trying this place out!

By the bar we got to see some of the dishes being made. Great date night spot. Limited parking. This is a tapas spot and our serve did a good job recommending how many dishes to get. The only reason Noko is not getting 5 stars is because the server said that they would time out the dishes for us, so it was best to place our entire order all at once. However, we got 3 dishes and then it took about 30 minutes for other two to come out. Maybe we were eating too fast but felt like we were waiting a while for our food. The food itself was absolutely delicious. There was nothing we ordered that I did not like. Some favorites include the burnt ends lettuce wraps and Korean chicken wings. The Sando, shrimp and tuna crispy rice was also spectacular. The tuna was so flavorful and refreshing on the tuna crispy rice. The sauce of the east side shrimp really makes the dish. I'm not a huge shrimp person but this was really good. This is a must go to spot in Nashville and would definitely want to come back.

Next up was their Prime Skirt Steak and the sides I chose was their creamed spinach and mashed potatoes. The steak was cooked to a perfect temperature and the chimichurri was so very tasty with it! The bar has two hidden TVs that you can only see when you sit at the bar, which is such a cool touch. It keeps the space feeling upscale without sacrificing the ability to catch a game. The overall ambiance is great, and the music is always at the perfect volume for an easy conversation. The drinks have been consistently excellent. We've tried both cocktails and wine, and everything has been delicious. The wine is a little overpriced in our opinion, but it was so good that I'm glad we still ordered it! On our most recent visit, we started with the burrata. It was very good, but I do wish there had been more sauce and more cantaloupe. The sauce felt more like an accent than something that really tied the dish together. That said, the perfect bite was definitely the burrata with the prosciutto and cantaloupe! For our entrees, Jonathan ordered the pork chop, and I had the piri piri chicken. Both came with broccolini and patatas bravas. I was expecting traditional Spanish-style patatas bravas, so when whole baby potatoes showed up, I was initially a little disappointed. Don't let that fool you, though--these potatoes were incredible!!! Crispy on the outside, perfectly cooked on the inside, and packed with flavor! They ended up being one of my favorite parts of the meal! My piri piri chicken was fantastic! The portion was much larger than I expected, and the piri piri sauce served on the side was absolutely lick-the-plate good. I found myself dipping the potatoes and broccolini in it because it was just that delicious. Piri piri isn't something you come across often in Nashville, and The Finch absolutely nails it--and at a really reasonable price. Jonathan's pork chop was cooked perfectly with great flavor. It wasn't an over-the-top, show-stopping dish, but for around $30--including both sides--at a more upscale restaurant, it's hard to beat the value. One more recommendation: get the volcano rock shrimp. We had it on a previous visit, and we still talk about it! It's easily one of our favorite dishes we've had here. The Finch has been consistently good every time we've visited, and that's what keeps bringing us back! Great food, great drinks, a fun atmosphere, and solid value for the quality. We'll definitely be back again!
