------600TH REVIEW------ After having this bar in my bookmark for months now, I've decided to go with my friend especially since the 25 cent wings Wednesday enticed me. Yes, the deal is too good to be true. There's a catch: 2 drinks minimum per person. Initially, we went in after the bouncer ID'd us and walked around - it was full. We waited for about 5 minutes and then decided to bounce. We walked around, but there weren't any other restaurants or bars that appealed to me, so we went back. Luckily, after walking in, we spotted two open spots at the bar area and claimed our seats! I ordered 15 wings (5 buffalo, 5 sweet chili, and 5 BBQ) and two Modelo. We waited about 10 minutes for our food, which wasn't a big deal. We were having fun with the bar atmosphere. Overall, we had a great time, but I feel like there should be some sort of organization that should be implemented which is why I concluded this bar with a 3-star. Where can you find the most fattening food that only your adolescent mind could have imagined or dreamed up? Where can you find the cutest hipster girls and bartenders that are actually super nice to non-hipsters? Dr. Teeth! I love love love this place and frequent it often, from their fried pickles, sliders, and tat-chos (there's crack in the cheese) to their greyhounds, mason jars of Trumer, and bloody's!!! Whenever I'm in the mood to eat myself into a coma and then drink myself into a stupor, this is where I do it! It's also the best place to eat your feelings and relieve stress! Now this was one place I was looking forward to checking out! Heard a lot of good things about this bar, from its delish Tat-chos to the great drinks! Now I made the mistake of eating (I normally eat before I drink) before I made it Dr Teeth & The Electric Mayhem, just had drinks on my mind and thought oh better grab something to eat, so I full by the time I got there and I didn't get to try the famous Tot-Chos. We got there about 15 mins to 5 on a Friday night, and we waited outside for the place to open, lets just say this is in a colorful neighborhood with interesting people around. But it still didn't stop me from wanting to check them out! Doors opened and I got a good look around, this place looks like a lot of fun, bright fun colors, we were there for about an hour and that place filled up pretty fast. I ordered 2 drinks, a blackberry fizz, it had fresh blackberry's & lemon muddled together, then vodka & st germain elderflowerliqueur and something else added, don't remember, but do remember how fresh it tasted, also got an Azul something or other, it had fresh blueberries & lemon muddled together, lots of tequila and other stuff mixed together. Omg that too was fresh and delish! Wish I had more time to try out some other drinks! Our bartender was Mac and he was the man, he handled everyone's drink orders in fast timely matter and made all the drinks with care. Oh and found out they have Jameson on tap! THIS IS NOT A DENTIST'S OFFICE! I really want to love this place but MAN do they have terrible service! This place is more of a bar with food than a full service restaurant. The inside is really unique and I love that it's a true hangout spot with shuffle board inside and skeeball outside. The food was pretty decent too. Nothing majorly exciting but I did love that they have tons of options for the tater tots like sweet potato tots, truffle oil and Parmesan tots and tot-chos. I had the wake and bacon which was just cheese bacon and a fried egg. Nothing too exciting. The banana bread french toast was good but it was cold when it arrived. Not sure if it was supposed to be that way but it would have tasted better hot. It was also more of a bread pudding type dish so perhaps a name change might be in order. It didn't taste to much like banana which was good because I hate the taste of bananas. The bottomless mimosas were decent but were also super expensive. They weren't fresh either. $15 for pre-mixed mimosas served out of a pitcher. $15 would have been reasonable if it was made fresh each time with fresh squeezed orange juice. The orange juice tasted like Sunny-D. Now to the service, which is really what brought the rating down. We arrived and saw a sign to pick a table. No one greeted us for at least 10-15 minutes. Our waitress finally came over and took our order and other than bringing the food over and refilling our mimosas, we hardly saw her and we were never asked if we were ok or if there was anything else we needed. We asked for boxes, which we never saw and had to ask another waitress to help us. Sarah (I think her name is) was very nice and courteous, she just wasn't very attentive. The table right next to us had their own waitress which seemed very attentive. It's was strange that 2 tables right next to each other had different waitresses. Mayhem indeed! I really wanted to like this bar, but it was absolutely DISASTROUS. Still trying to decide if the deal is worth it: Thrillist SF (look it up, thank me later) is offering bottomless mimosas, entrees, and shots for $15 per person every weekend of January. I tried to call to reserve a table, and they said they only do that for groups of 10+. The guy promised me that they were "very good" about getting people in and out. We showed up, and literally got shoved around for 20 minutes before someone told us that it would be an hour to get seating inside, but if we wanted to sit on the back patio, we could put our orders in at the bar. There was no list to sign up to wait for a table inside - one of my biggest pet peeves at restaurants. The back patio is nice once you get past the weird area that looks like a scrapyard. There are only 3 long tables with benches, and then some cement steps you can sit on. I wish they'd taken the money and area they put into having a nice astro turf lawn and bean bag games and put it towards more seating. The waitress never came to our table to take orders, check on us, or even get us waters. We were the table between the other two, so she was very obviously skipping over us. What the hell? The bar back was out there and more attentive and helpful than she was, so we ended up tipping him only. He seemed really frustrated and apologetic with everyone else's performance. It took us an hour to get our food, and it was cold and incorrect. Everything tasted alright for a few bites, until we realized everything was way oversauced and felt queasy. 97% of the time I soldier through some pretty terrible dishes to the finish, but even I gave up. Our friends never even got their food. When they tried to ask for a refund because it's just damn ridiculous to wait 2 hours for food, the manager tried to charge them $15 each for a couple of sips of mimosas. Uh, you should be paying them credit for the horror you put them through - not that they would ever go back again though. I've never witnessed such a shitshow! Sorry this is so long, but I'm trying to save you the trouble. Tips: Show up before 11:30 am, order with the guy who has a curly moustache at the bar (he was nice and gave us pitchers of mimosas that were 80% champagne, damn), make sure he knows you're sitting outside, don't hope for anything from the waitresses, flag down the ginger bar back, and bring entertainment to last the hour it'll take to get your food. read more

This place is so "Mission". The eccentric name comes from the name of a muppet rock band from the Muppets Show. Enter the divy bar/restaurant and you see some headless mannequins adorned with rave like accessories or attire. -interesting accents amongst the otherwise dark and austere interiors... There seems to be a variety of characters in here too. All good vibes, but yes, everybody's got character in here. The patio has an upper level that, at the time, was occupied by a crazy fun birthday celebration full of bear costumes and alcohol. My go to happy hour and wing Wed place. 25 cent wings and margaritas?! What more could a girl ask for lol. They have daily happy hour deals on food and drinks during the week. I also recommend trying their garlic crab tots! It can get pretty crowded though, and hard to snag a able. Recommend getting there early. TL;DR: The menu is wild, the drinks flow freely, and the bar itself is cool. Neighborhood is sketch. Came here for a livingsocial brunch deal, and man, totally worth it. The neighborhood is totally sketch. We BARTed here, got off at 16th street/mission, and walked down to where the bar was. A word of caution, I probably wouldn't feel comfortable coming here at night without a group. And I'm a big guy. With a fair bit of fighting/training under my belt. (only reason it gets 4 instead of 5 stars) If you are feeling adventurous, consider bringing some 'rock to throw at all the crack heads and distract them. Anyway, once you get there, its a great place. Decent size bar and seating area in the front, and a nice outdoor patio in the back. We kinda tooled around for a bit and played some shuffleboard while waiting for a table (place was PACKED when we got there). Met a guy in a bear suit, had some laughs, and a bunch of Mimosa's (bottomless on weekends $15). We get seated about 40 minutes after getting there, have a comfortable buzz going at this point, and am ready to eat. Server was friendly and relatively fast, considering how busy they were. I ordered the jelly donut-fried chicken sandwich, because, why the hell not. My lady had the eggs benedict. Both came with a choice of home fries or tater tots. She chose the former while I the latter. Food was good! Not mind blowing, but I certainly enjoyed it, and am curious to sample many of their other offerings. Such a delicious restaurant with amazing drinks! I'd definitely recommend if in the mood for Peruvian food. Like I said, their drinks are absolutely delicious! This is a great spot to go an a date to. I got the pisco sour and lychee sour... id definitely recommend the lychee more. For food, we got the ceviche and it. Was. Soooo. Good! I will never go in this bar because it is not a place I would feel safe. Tonight when walking by I witnessed the bar's bouncer body slam a man's head onto the pavement to the point where he was knocked unconscious and would not wake up and an ambulance had to be called. There is no reason for a bouncer to escalate violence to that level and it was disturbing to see. read more

Via Facebook, I made a comment about wanting to get Sunday Brunch. Amongst my friends, John Z. was the only one that seemed interested. Originally, we were going to go to District, but John's friend wanted to have brunch in the city at Local: Mission Eatery. I was all for it. When we got near Local: Mission Eatery, we didn't realize that it was Sunday Streets so we decided on a different location. Dr. Teeth & The Electric Mayhem quickly popped into my mind because I had been wanting to try it out for quite some time. We get there and it's not super busy so we were able to sit down quickly. We ended up sitting on the patio. It did take awhile for the waitress to come back there, but she quickly took care of us when she did. There were a lot of options on the menu so it was very hard to narrow it down to one thing. I figured we had to start off with the Totchos (tater tots a la nachos) and I got myself the Jelly Donut Fried Chicken Sandwich. I couldn't pass something like that up. I don't remember what the name of the drink I ordered was called, but it was Bud Light and fresh grapefruit. Something I will be making at home. But for the record, not with Bud Light. We got our food and dug right in. The sandwich was really good. It's definitely not something I would eat all the time, but the chicken was crisp and juicy. I do think the donut could've used a little more jelly, but that's just me. I had also ordered the home fries, which were really good and had a great abundance of garlic. As good as the home fries were and as full I was starting to get, I could not stop eating the Totchos. They were so addictive and so good, that I ended up abandoning the rest of my home fries. Went last night with a group of friends on the day before the Groupon expires, which also happened to be trivia night. 30 sliders, 3 baskets of tots, 6 beers, and 1 pitcher of margaritas later (Total Bill if we didn't have Groupon: $115ish not including tips.), we left happy campers, even though we weren't one of the winning trivia teams. (BTW I blame the non-win on the fact that more than 1/2 the restaurant was there to redeem their groupons and not to play trivia, so it was a challenge hearing the questions and music.) We tried these sliders: Classic Sliders, Reuben (corned beef and sauerkraut), Meatball Parmesan, and French Dip. The Reubens were tasty, and the only one worth eating again for me personally. The other sliders were simply dry and overcooked. With the Groupon, we were only allowed to order the plain tots: Original, Sweet Potato, and Truffle. TRUFFLE TOTS!!! I'd come back just to eat basket after basket of these incredibly delicious bite-sized, deep-friend crunchy bites of happiness. I can't wait to come back to eat some of the specialty tots like Tot-chos and Buffalo Blue Tots! As for service, our waitress and bus boy were very attentive given the huge crowds, but I think that's just bad planning for them to only schedule the 2 of them and a bartender for the night before a Groupon expires. In sum, the sliders were really disappointing, but the truffle tots were amazing, and I'd be willing to come back and try Trivia when the people there actually want to play . . . so just 3 stars for now . . . maybe 4 stars if I fall in love with the specialty tots. read more

So this is the bar with the funny name that I can never remember. Angelo F. used to mention their Wednesday 25 cent wing deal to me all the time. We finally stopped in with a couple of other friends and we enjoyed our time here. They have cocktails with Saint Germain! They also have a full kitchen of food. We opted for the corn dogs with smelled like doughnuts but tasted like corn dogs. The food is totally greasy but it goes well with alcohol. Just eat it in moderation and you're good. They also had an awesome DJ when we stopped in and it was fairly easy to get a table if you go early enough on a Saturday night. It was starting to get much more busy closer to 9pm. I didn't go to the back patio because it was cold when we went but if it's a nice day, the back patio stays open until 10pm. I noticed they also do trivia on Tuesday nights and they donate proceeds to your favourite charity on Thursday nights. Oh and I think they do margaritas on Monday? The crowd is pretty mixed here. Prices were what you'd expect to pay in SF. Cocktails $10 and up, beer $5 and up. Theme nights are probably cheaper. You bet I'll be back with friends in tow. read more

With 3 girls, we ordered 20 wings and the lobster garlic fries. Do not order the lobster garlic fries. I came here on Wednesday for .25 wing night...and it also happened to be happy hour. I squeezed my way into a table (the gentlemen there were nice enough to let me intrude). After they left I watched as a few groups fought over who's table it was next...so this place gets crazy packed! Food: I ordered plain wings with ranch, a chicken slider, and a black bean slider (all of which were highly recommended by server). She was not lying....it was all really tasty!! Service: For as packed as this place was, my server handled it like a boss! I think her name was Felicia (according to receipt). Dr Teeth has to be one of the most uniquely named places I've been to. The outside canopy has a picture of a tooth on it, which initially led me to think it was a dentist, but boy was I wrong. Both outdoor and indoor seating are available. The inside is dark, dimly lit, loud, and full of more hovering people than there are outside. At least outside, I can breathe and hear what my friends are saying, as well as be able to see the food in front of me! I honestly like the outside seating more, despite the cold outdoor feeling. There are lots of TVs inside and one outside, which is a plus for any sports fan. I seriously don't think you can get any better than 25 cent chicken wings (all night) and $3 PBRs (until 7 PM). We usually order about 90 wings and 1-2 orders of tots (don't judge), and for each person in our party of 5-6, it's only $7 bucks a person. The wings come in buffalo, original, barbecue, and sweet chili habanero (my fave). THE TOTS ARE TOT-ALLY AMAZING. Maybe it's because I'm just tots fan in general, but the different varieties of toppings (crab, taco toppings, etc.) you can get definitely bring them to the next level. GET THERE EARLY!! Or at least designate an early bird to get a table! By 6 PM, the tables are taken and there are already a good amount of vultures hovering around. Quick Review: A hipster hangout for Wing Wednesday.25 cent wings, need I say more. Great drinks, truffle tots and regular tots are also very good. Be prepared for a large crowd on this day though. FOOD: You can't go wrong with .25 cent wings! The buffalo flavor was super good and the habanero was tasty too, especially if you like spicy. I'm not a huge fan of truffle oil anyway so I could do without the truffle tots but the regular tots were good. They also have tachos (cheesy tots). My friends and I didn't order them but they looked good. SERVICE It's a bar and it gets pretty crazy so don't expect one particular person waiting on you. However, it was pretty easy to flag someone down. I suggest going directly to the bar and ordering your drinks there, much faster. AMBIANCE Once again it's a bar and it was pretty hard to hear unless you are sitting super close to who you are talking to or yelling. The music was more hipster chic than anything else. On Wednesday, they have wings for 25cents, with favors like bbq, sweet chili habanero, and buffalo. The wings come with celery and ranch too, which is pretty cool. Make sure to arrive early, as it gets pretty crowded (at least on Wednesday). It's also a pain in the ass to park around here after work but it's worth it. 16 wings for 4$?? Can't beat that. They have a 2 drink minimum requirement for the 25 cent wings, so the cheapest method is to order two happy hour beers. They have specials in terms of their drinks every day, when I went in on a Thursday it was a shot of Jameson and a tall can of PBR for 9, which was great! Their chicken wings are to die for with their buffalo wing sauce, but their famous for their Totchos are what makes this place amazing, it's basically tater totes instead of Tortilla chips in nachos, so good! Service was great our server was very nice and brought out our drinks and food very quickly, they also have 3 TVs so we would also watch the basketball games. read more

I came here bright and early to watch the 49ers-Panthers playoff game. I was surrounded by 49er fans and it got crazy busy during the game. My friend and I split the tot-chos here. Yes, Tater tot nachos. Let your brain process that goodness. The tots were delicious! They were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft and warm on the inside. My only thing is the the nacho toppings made the tots soggy eventually, so I think I'd prefer just ordering regular tots next time. The service wasn't fast, but it was crowded for the game, so I totally understand. The vibe in here is so 60s/70s and so funky. It'd probably be a great place to just come on a regular night of barhopping, too. read more

Came here because I was hoping they would have the whole Muppet band here. No Muppets. Just us lame humans. Homemade corn dogs, crab garlic fries, curly garlic fries with truffle oil (oh yeah), meatball and classic slider, and grilled cheese sandwiches for my mates! The food is just okay. I came here for the wings, but it is so dry and the oil they use to fry the wings are very old(used over and over) not fresh oil.

There are 3 things you must know when you go here on a Wednesday (their 25 cent wing day): 1. The only sauce flavor you really need to get is their SWEET HABANERO CHILI SAUCE for your wings, because the flavor is EXPLOSIVE in your mouth. A little warning to the non-spicy food eaters--it won't burn, but it might still make you pant like a dog (just a little). 2. You need to order at least 2 beverages total (it can even be a non-alcoholic drink) in order to qualify for the 25 cent per wing discount. 3. If you cannot finish your wings, they WILL NOT give you a box to take them to go. However, they will give you a small container for your side dishes that you paid full price for. I mean, it's understandable...because you shouldn't ask for a to-go box at a buffet, BUTTTTTT....DAMN...I didn't want these tasty wings to go to waste! So...a little FYI--be prepared to eat all of what you order. My eyes were bigger than my stomach this time around, but nonetheless....LESSON LEARNED! Side note: I'm impressed that the waiters/waitresses don't ever write your orders down and they bring the right order out to you every time. Wing Wednesdays, oh how good you are to me. Although I hate how crowded it can get, I always appreciated 25 cent wings in their Sweet Chili Habanero sauce. YUM. On another occasion, I was able to try their crab tater tots (so worth it). Although their crab to tots ratio wasn't proportional. Too much tots. Their Reuben egg rolls are to DIE for. Wasn't a big fan of the onion rings (too big and too much batter). I still give this place 5 stars because the waitresses are super accommodating and its hard to find a bar with some darn good food. read more

Just found my new Wednesday night spot. 25 cent wings all night and my bottled beer was less than $3. Whatttt? I am still shocked about the prices. The wings are big too. Not the wimpy ones you usually get at some other places... I got 12 and was absolutely stuffed. Loved the habanero sauce. Friend got a couple of ghost pepper ones and was dying. They're called Death and the bartender actually told him he shouldn't order 6 like he originally wanted. Solid advice. My friends and I also ordered a totchos (tator tot nachos) to share. That was okay, but perfect beer food for sure. They push out their wings fast too, which was great because I was starving. Lighting outside could be better. I could barely see anything once the sun went down. Another bummer is that they pile all the wings on one plate so all the flavors were mixed up. To be honest looking into this place from the outside I wasn't expecting much. It's not until you go inside past the bar and out to the patio area you see the entirety of this place. It's SO CUTE! (Kinda hipsterish) I came here on a Sunday night, but even then there were good amount of people both inside and outside watching the baseball game hanging out (yes, there's a tv outside). There's park style benches outside with plenty of seating for groups with Christmas lights hanging. I didn't get a good look at the menu or order inside so I can't tell you their selection of drinks. But their food-- delicious! I'm not vegetarian but sometimes I crave the healthy stuff and then balance it out with a side of something better than fries TATER TOTS! Haha so my vegetarians, they have options for you! I got the pita sandwich with beets (lol I like how my autocorrect just changed that to beer) goat cheese and some other stuff, bottom line it's filling and good-- I eat a lot and I was only able to finish half.
