Wow I love this place! Really fresh seafood and prices are reasonable. We made a reservation for 10 people and they were super accommodating. The server even split out bills individually. Will definitely be coming back for more.

Been to Temaki many times when visiting Vancouver. The aburi sockeye and blue fin o-toro are delicious. We ended up ordering it twice. Service: 9/10 Ambiance: 9/10 Food: 10/10

Tasty spot for sushi! Prompt service and food was quick to come out. Enjoyed the nigiri sushi, the fresh crab California roll and chef's roll. Food tastes fresh.

The lovely ambiance of Temaki sushi

This is my go-to place to grab lunch whenever I am in the area and I must say Temaki Sushi never fails to disappoint. Considering the noise and hullabaloo of the construction in the area, the welcoming and warm ambiance of Temaki offers a quite respire to clear one's headspace and enjoy one's meal in relative peace. The service is prompt even with the rush of diners and they are pretty quick to get you whatever you need. I have always dined alone here but have seen families, couples all around so it's a place for everyone and there's no preference for one set of people over the other which I appreciate. About the food, I have mainly had different sushi rolls and have liked everything that I have tried. The last time I was in here, I had a scoop of their coconut Mango icecream which was *Chefs kiss*. Highly recommend!

Hadn't been since the pandemic roof fell in and am Happy to say the place is better than ever-I'm a neighbourhood resident and used to work just a block away so I know. It's always been a friendly welcoming place and that hasn't changed-I arrived puffing & panting from doing the Arbutus bikeway so I didn't order much but what I had was delicious.

We've come to Temaki sushi twice in the past 10 days. Temaki sushi seems like a high quality high end sushi place but the prices are quite reasonable for the freshness and delicious sushi you get. On our first visit for my fiancé's birthday we ordered the chefs roll, toro aburi, 10 pieces of tuna and salmon sashimi as well as the roll combo that included a spicy tuna roll, dynamite roll, and chopped scallop roll. Everything was super fresh and tasty, but our favourite was hands-down the Toro aburi. We made reservations and got seated within a few minutes. We came by again last night and our wait was approximately 35 minutes. We ordered the snapper tempura and kanpachi crudo based on a recommendation from a friend. We just had to get the Toro aburi as a treat because who doesn't love aburi? We got a spicy salmon roll and a spicy tuna roll as something that would fill us up and they definitely hit the spot. Really recommend this joint as a fancier but not break you wallet Japanese restaurant with a huge selection of food dishes to try and many sake options too!

Nigiri from omakase

Best Omakase I've had in Vancouver!! Chef Hilary is brilliant! I've been here twice in the past 2 months with different groups of people and every time my guests loved it! Seafood is super fresh, well presented and everything is made with love and care. Each round of omakase was different so I didn't feel like I was repeating the same dinner. I love chawanmushi so I order it whenever a restaurant offers it. This is by far the best I have ever had with tasty big bites of prawn and scallop. Dungeness crab salad was amazing, fried snapper was so light and airy, tuna gomae had a nice kick of wasabi house made panna cotta was so delicate yet creamy. Honestly there was not one bad dish. I also love that they give fresh wasabi here. Service is awesome here, attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. Will is humorous and approachable. He recommended one of the best sakes I've ever had. It was reasonably priced and not on the menu. He even took the time to sanitize the highchair for my son. Make a reservation because this place fills up. Totally worth it. Can't wait to return!

If you're ever in Vancouver, you absolutely can't miss Miku, the Japanese restaurant next to Canada Place! The renowned Miku restaurant undoubtedly boasts a beautiful view from its windows, excellent service, and of course, delicious food. Their seared sushi is particularly famous. From appetizers to main courses to desserts, the dining experience was very enjoyable. Their signature dessert, Green Tea Opera, is highly recommended!

Not just for great sushi, but really affordable prices as well. Yes, the wait for a table can get long. We waited about 45 minutes, and there's no area to wait except outside or go take a walk since they will text you when your table is ready. I also appreciate seeing where my place in line is through Yelp! First, a shoutout to the wonderful service here. Everywhere I go in Vancouver the service is great, but the server here was so friendly, helpful and efficient. The ambiance is really nice here and I love the place settings! We had a lot, so here is my breakdown: Spicy Agedashi Tofu - lightly fried tofu in a sauce that reminded me of gochuchang sauce. 7/10 Gyoza - crispy fried with a pork/veggie filling. 6/10 Karaage chicken - on the bone, but delicious nonetheless. Served with a mayo sauce. 7/10 Tuna Bomb - 10/10 this came out last because it takes longer to make. This is an absolute must-do. Crispy rice patties with a spicy tuna spread that you just place on the rice. Salmon jalapeno aburi hako - 10/10 I have been excited about this since I heard about it. The seared salmon on top of rice with a shrimp tempura running through the middle. The salmon and sauce on top melt in your mouth. Red Dynamite Roll - 9/10 this was my brother's favorite. I wanted it to be a bit spicier, but that said it's still so amazing. Mango Flower Roll - 9/10 if you like mango then you will love this. This also just melts in your mouth and that mango is just so fresh. California roll - 8/10 as great as a California roll can be! No complaints here! Rainbow Roll - I didn't get to try it, but my niece gave it a 10/10! I will definitely be coming back here again.

I counted maybe 36 seats. The interior is nice but generic enough to be just about any type of restaurant. The menu accessed via QR code. I ended up trying the following: - Assorted Tempura: Good. Light batter, but slightly overbrowned. - Miso Black Cod: Good. More elaborate presentation than most, but very small piece. - Salmon Belly Sashimi: Very good. Fresh and delicious. - Tom Special Roll Tray: Very good. A great way to sample all the different roll, all which are very good. I thought it was reasonably priced and could adequately feed 4 people. Service was very good. There are a LOT of staff, so we were constantly being checked on to make sure we were happy and got anything we needed. Overall a good meal. It doesn't classify as the best sushi in Vancouver, but I can see the quality-value ratio might be the best in the city. All the food was quite good and certainly not overpriced. I imagine the high staff count was due to the overwhelming amount of takeout orders. I would return.

Each piece gets torched over charcoal which gives it this smoky, melt-in-your-mouth quality, and the specialty sauces mean you don't even reach for the soy (they will also say to your face not to, so unless you want to endure their judgement--which my husband happily does--I'd stay away from soy sauce for the aburi. Their salmon oshi is well known, I love the ebi oshi the most but definitely get both and decide for yourself. The whole menu delivers though, from the sashimi to the rolls to the cocktails, all of it beautifully plated without feeling fussy. The space is nice too, took a big group of family here once after an event and they all loved it. And if you're here in the summer ask about the garden patio out back. It's an elevated experience but never stuffy. Perfect for a date night or when you want to treat yourself. Reservations are a good idea because it fills up. Easily one of my favourite spots in Yaletown though!

Okeya Kyujiro is a Michelin one-star theatrical omakase restaurant, and when they say theatrical, they mean it! From the moment you're welcomed by smiling ushers in kimono to the closing tea ceremony, every movement feels intentional, precise, and elevated. The ambiance is serene and anticipatory. At the start, guests sit in silence as a black screen conceals the chefs. You see their shadows moving behind it. A bell rings, the screen lifts, and the performance begins. Dinner is a 25+ course experience priced at $325 per person. It's undeniably a splurge, but for a milestone celebration, it feels justified. The menu is seafood-forward, with many ingredients flown in from Japan. Each ingredient is presented before preparation, then carefully assembled and served directly from chef to guest. Courses arrive one by one, never rushed. The service team moves seamlessly in the background, refilling water and attending to drinks (available as an add-on) without disrupting the flow. The finale is a matcha ceremony, whisked in front of you with the same quiet precision that defines the evening. When the final sip is taken, the bell chimes once more, the chefs and staff bow, and the screens close. It was a beautifully choreographed dining experience, perfect for marking a special moment, and one I'd gladly return to for the next celebration.

Total 10 guests today. Looks like 4 more guests can be served for the maximum seating. The server came by when the course is served to explain each item. The appetizers have three dishes. The tempura is freshly made and hot. The cooked fish tastes a bit fishy to my likely. The chawanmushi is lukewarm which I wish to be hotter. It then follows by 8 nigiri sushi with brown rice - really like the texture and (small) portion of rice with each nigiri. Fresh ingredients. I asked for low sodium option however the first few nigiri is a bit too salty and I have notified the server so the chef can adjust immediately. I enjoy the Hokkaido uni nigiri the last smoked fish nigiri the most. The fresh crab and salmon roe rice and beef soba noodles at the end have a nice touch of finesse. There are a number of birthday celebrations and they asked for names to acknowledge and celebrate the birthdays. A little musical piano "performance" for the happy birthday song. Matcha green tea is served at the end to wrap up the omakase. Overall an enjoyable experience but not necessarily impressive as a Michelin 1 star restaurant. At this price point it's worth a try however not likely regular visit.
