    Hot and sunshine roll

We went in to celebrate on last night and everything was amazing ! We started off with sashimi sampler and the tempura sampler both were perfect then we had the hot and sunshine roll which was tasty and filling service and atmosphere also on point we highly recommend

This is our sushi go to place. The service is the best in the East Valley. No set of waitresses pays better attention to their customers than this crew. No one. It's not even close. It's noisy and the tables are pretty close together. The sushi is wonderful. We try to get here twice a month. We don't have a better sushi place in the East Valley.

Wow! Amy was such a great server and did a wonderful job being attentive to our table! Our sushi was out of this world! Every bite was fresh and fantastic! We'll definitely come back when I'm in town!

Sashimi here is great! We went here last month for the first time and tried the Love Boat, great for those who havent had anything to eat in the past couple of hours. It's def filling, but, also you dont feel guilty eating it, as it is all healthy!! We recently tried the sushi sashimi combo, great as well for lower appetite, but, just if you have a craving for good sushi. The quality is very fresh and amazing. Both the combo and the love boat come with Miso soup, which is great and their fresh wasabi is also excellent! The service has been friendly both times be it christmas day or a regular afternoon!! Ambience is cute and its always packed which is an amazing sign!

We are here from out of town and after reading all the amazing reviews we were excited to check it out. We aren't professionals by any means but know good sushi when we have it. This place was just meh. You could tell the fish wasn't super fresh and the pieces were so huge they were hard to fit in our mouths. Out of the four rolls we got only one was worth ordering again. One, in particular, was the Phoenix roll. The cream cheese was still hard like it was just taken out of the freezer. So disappointed, especially since a friend recommended a different place but we went here because of all the great reviews. On a good note, service was wonderful.

This was my first time here. Went during Friday happy hour 2pm to 6pm. Just ahead of the rush. Greeted as we came in. Cute decor with sushi and Japanese type decorations. Medium size place just right. Customer service included friendliness and respectful manners. Sat down and immediately our drink and food order taken. Fast service. Sushi so fresh and made perfectly into decent size pieces. Better than most happy hour menus. Servers always checking in and clearing empty plates. Explained which sushi or appetizer was being served to us. Kept our drinks filled. This is by far the best sushi I have had along with perfection of customer service!!!! Give them a try ! They will not disappoint. We will definitely be back again!!

This is one of the best sushi happy hour spots in Gilbert. If you are looking for a quick and easy drop in sushi spot, this can be your place. The cheese puffs and edamame are the perfect appetizers to start you off. I love their sweet potato roll, the Tootsie roll, and the creamy cali roll. The service is always great. They are kind and attentive. They get the food out very quickly and you can't beat the prices. If you are looking for a sushi place that won't break the bank but still tastes great look no further . Make sure to check this great sushi spot out.

Tuna Nigiri Sushi (2 Pcs) Sushi Burrito Blossom
    Peter P.

Food was good, service was great. Nice little place. Map didn't take me to the place directly so had to call and ask where they were located. Sushi burrito was a must because... it's a sushi burrito. It wasn't bad but don't think I would get it again as the ratio of crab meat was too high for me. Other roll and nigiri were really good, gyoza was good too. Would go back.

I figured a Sunday afternoon would be calm, so I decided to pop in for a solo lunch. What I Ordered: - Yuzu Mule: The drink was delicious and refreshing, so I ordered a second one. Definitely order if I return as well. - Hamachi Lime Roll: This roll had an odd texture to me, and ultimately, I grabbed the rest to go as it was a little off putting to me. The flavor was decent though I found myself wishing there was more crunch with tempura flakes or panko bread crumbs on top. - Crazy Roll: The winner between the two rolls in terms of flavor and preference. Though, I wish this roll had the spicy mayo the other one had. I'd definitely order again and ask for a side of spicy mayo that I could add to the roll. Love the soy paper option! As for ambiance? I thought country music was an incredibly odd choice for this establishment hence the 4 stars versus 5 star review. I'd prefer more traditional Japanese music, or heck, even some J-Rock over American country music. I'm guessing Sunday afternoon is a slower time, so it was employee choice. Overall, I'd visit again when in the area and recommend to friends/family.

Course 2: Spicy Scallop Futomaki/hokkaido scallop / benishoga / chili crisp/ takuan / wasabi mayo. This roll tastes great, scallop tastes fresh and I love the way it was seasoned. However the rice around it was too much that I couldn't taste the scallop fully. I wouldn't get this dish again because of the rice around it was too much. Course 3: Ocean Trout Mi-Cuit/ okinawa potato croquette / citrus cream/fried capers / crispy salmon skin. I love the cream and the capers in this dish. The fish is seared. Although not much flavor in the fish itself but because of the sauce, it complements the dish well. Course 4: Dessert - Yuzu Lychee Sorbet/vanilla whisky hojicha granita. Oh my gosh, this is my favorite dish! It was so good and refreshing! The yuzu sorbet was tart and creamy. And the hojicha ice underneath was delicious! I would come back to the restaurant just for this dish and the first dish!

She was super attentive too and kept refilling our drinks throughout the meal. We tried a mix of specialty rolls and more basic rolls. Most of the specialty rolls were around $15 each, while the basic rolls were under $10. The spicy tuna rolls were especially good for the price because they were cheap, but still came out huge. Overall the portions were very generous and the prices weren't bad at all. I got the Hell Fire roll and it definitely lived up to the name. I handle spicy food really well and even for me this thing was extremely spicy. It was almost painfully hot, but honestly I kind of enjoyed the challenge, It was also really good besides just being spicy, so I'd definitely get it again. The inside also had a cool vibe with all the colorful lighting and it wasn't too busy when we went which was nice. Most of our sushi came out almost immediately. The fried rolls understandably took a little longer since they had to be made fresh. My only small complaint is I wish everything would of came out closer to the same time, because some of us already had food while we were still waiting on the fried rolls. Overall, really good food, huge portions, fair prices and great service, definitely a spot I'd come back to.

The ordering system was simple and made sense, even featuring a robot food delivery when staff had their hands full elsewhere. The pricing was fantastic for the quality. Which brings me to my next and top favorite portion of this review, the QUALITY. So casually my lady and I order some sashimi and some of the delicious choices they have, and they bring a plate with a nice fake bonsai tree, they put some liquid into a little ceramic cauldron-esk "doo-hickey" on the plate and a fresh steam poured over the rotating platter the sashimi arrived on. The staff were excellent and extremely kind, and as workers, very on top of it. 15 out 10 Pakusan, would recommend to anyone who does not have overly sensitive allergies to environments of raw fish. As even if you had regular allergies, the cleanliness was very great as well, with myself witnessing the staff wiping down messes as they happened, not just spills. Messes of stray sauce or condiments, cleaned up the moment they were noticed. Color me impressed.

We arrived a little early, so they told us we could sit at the bar & have a drink. We sat there for 15+ minutes & the girl getting things ready for the bar totally ignored us. Right before we were seated someone else took our drink order & said she'd bring them to the table. Hubby got a beer & I got a Tito's & cranberry juice. We ordered an appetizer. While we were waiting they sat another 4 with us. We all expected dinner & a "show", but none of us expected the show we got. One of the staff started screaming at another staff member. We had no idea what the female staff member was saying since her words were not in English. She was so loud & screaming in the bar area so the entire restaurant could hear her. A couple of staff members tried to claim her dow. This went on for several minutes. It was crazy. All us customers were silent & just looking at the girl screaming & yelling. The next thing we know, round two. It was unbelievable. What was even crazier was they didn't send the staff member home! No one came over & said a word. No one apologized or said anything. After all of this, they sat couple with us. Finally the chef came to the table. By this time it was 20 til 6:00. Hubby got the filet with fried rice. I got the shrimp with fried rice. The food was good. However, hubby's steak was over cooked. Thankfully, hubby told the chef he wanted to change the steak from medium to medium rare, or it would have been even more over cooked. I also watch all of the employees but one prepping the food without gloves. This used to be our go to place for, but now with all this issues this time, we will probably have to find a new place.

The restaurant is fairly large, and seems like a lot of people like coming here for family/friend dinners. Like the name insists, the teppanyaki is the way to go. Their menu isn't that large, so it was pretty easy to make a decision. I opted for the filet mignon (rare) along with shrimp. Teppanyaki is really more of a show/experience, so the food comes out to you in sections (versus all at once like at a traditional restaurant). The filet was so soft, and was perfectly rare, and the shrimp was so good. I think in the future I'd eat a whole plate of shrimp. I also got to try the yakiniku, and that was also pretty good but very sweet. Their Boo Yah Ka roll was also pretty yummy. It's essentially a spring roll, but with some spice and citrus to it. I felt that the portion was good for a large meal, but my friend who got the chef's combo definitely had enough for leftovers.

You'd think summer would be a slower time, but it didn't phase this location or others in this shopping center. When walking in, one of my friend's had already grabbed us a table. This place was packed and we were sat in the back room. I'm glad we were as it was even loud in there. Happy Hour prices are great, but may come right at the start to avoid some of the crowds as the noise level was quite overwhelming at times. What We Ordered (pictured): - Korean Fried Chicken Bao Bun: My friend ordered this, and quickly snapped a photo as I found it an interesting special menu item. He seemed overall pleased, but he was surprised they are served like a taco. He didn't know the difference of bao bun versus xiaolongbao. - Dean Martini (Vodka + Blue Cheese Stuffed Olives): $7.95 on happy hour?! Be rude not to, and surprisingly good! Maybe SKYY Vodka is growing on me, though Belvedere or Double Cross remain my top choices for a dirty vodka martini. - Chuck Norris: $11.95 on happy hour, and I was after a roll with shrimp tempura. The lemon juice was so overpowering that I could only eat two bites, and gave to my friend to try and ultimately take home to her husband. Definitely not ordered again or recommend. - Me Soy Horny: $9.95 on happy hour and allowed me to try soy paper as a way to hold the roll together. After getting over the color as seaweed is just so iconic for a roll, I actually enjoyed the roll overall. I think this roll could be majorly elevated with spicy mayo. Ultimately, the sushi isn't spectacular from the two rolls I tried; but for the prices, I think they are overall good. I'd definitely return again on a weekday at start of happy hour to hopefully avoid the crowds. Even if just grabbing a martini and gambling on a different roll to try.

Miso Soups + Pork Potstickers, Rolls, and Nigiri. The best ones, without a doubt, included Tropic Thunder & East LA Roll, and Daddy's Tuna Nigiri. There are citrus notes in each of these that almost make it feel like a ceviche. We did have some not so good options and those are: beef nigiri, the smoked salmon (I'll get to that one) and salmon nigiri. Although the nigiri was tasty, the portion of rice on each was too much for my personal taste. Each bite felt overpowered and hid the true flavor of the seafood. I also lost a bit of my appetite when I saw the smoked salmon nigiri, and the black spots. Although it is safe to eat, I would expect back of house to serve a salmon piece as if they were being served themselves. Other than that, my date and I had a good time. We would recommend this business, amidst the hit and misses.
