Wow! Amy was such a great server and did a wonderful job being attentive to our table! Our sushi was out of this world! Every bite was fresh and fantastic! We'll definitely come back when I'm in town!

We are here from out of town and after reading all the amazing reviews we were excited to check it out. We aren't professionals by any means but know good sushi when we have it. This place was just meh. You could tell the fish wasn't super fresh and the pieces were so huge they were hard to fit in our mouths. Out of the four rolls we got only one was worth ordering again. One, in particular, was the Phoenix roll. The cream cheese was still hard like it was just taken out of the freezer. So disappointed, especially since a friend recommended a different place but we went here because of all the great reviews. On a good note, service was wonderful.

Sashimi here is great! We went here last month for the first time and tried the Love Boat, great for those who havent had anything to eat in the past couple of hours. It's def filling, but, also you dont feel guilty eating it, as it is all healthy!! We recently tried the sushi sashimi combo, great as well for lower appetite, but, just if you have a craving for good sushi. The quality is very fresh and amazing. Both the combo and the love boat come with Miso soup, which is great and their fresh wasabi is also excellent! The service has been friendly both times be it christmas day or a regular afternoon!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambience is cute and its always packed which is an amazing sign![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Quality fish in the desert! The sushi is good and the service is fast and friendly. They have great lunch and happy hour specials. This will be my new go-to spot when I'm craving sushi.

This was my first time here. Went during Friday happy hour 2pm to 6pm. Just ahead of the rush. Greeted as we came in. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Cute decor with sushi and Japanese type decorations.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Medium size place just right.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Customer service included friendliness and respectful manners. Sat down and immediately our drink and food order taken. Fast service. Sushi so fresh and made perfectly into decent size pieces. Better than most happy hour menus. Servers always checking in and clearing empty plates. Explained which sushi or appetizer was being served to us. Kept our drinks filled. This is by far the best sushi I have had along with perfection of customer service!!!! Give them a try ! They will not disappoint. We will definitely be back again!!

This is one of the best sushi happy hour spots in Gilbert. If you are looking for a quick and easy drop in sushi spot, this can be your place. The cheese puffs and edamame are the perfect appetizers to start you off. I love their sweet potato roll, the Tootsie roll, and the creamy cali roll. The service is always great. They are kind and attentive. They get the food out very quickly and you can't beat the prices. If you are looking for a sushi place that won't break the bank but still tastes great look no further . Make sure to check this great sushi spot out.

Food was good, service was great. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice little place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Map didn't take me to the place directly so had to call and ask where they were located. Sushi burrito was a must because... it's a sushi burrito. It wasn't bad but don't think I would get it again as the ratio of crab meat was too high for me. Other roll and nigiri were really good, gyoza was good too. Would go back.

Food and service were excellent. I had the teriyaki beef bento box and my granddaughter had sushi. Large portions and at a fair price.

Ryu Sushi is a little unsuspecting; the location is kind of weird in the sense that the parking lot…read moreof small. We went here for a friend's birthday, and was it definitely a fun night! The restaurant is fairly large, and seems like a lot of people like coming here for family/friend dinners. Like the name insists, the teppanyaki is the way to go. Their menu isn't that large, so it was pretty easy to make a decision. I opted for the filet mignon (rare) along with shrimp. Teppanyaki is really more of a show/experience, so the food comes out to you in sections (versus all at once like at a traditional restaurant). The filet was so soft, and was perfectly rare, and the shrimp was so good. I think in the future I'd eat a whole plate of shrimp. I also got to try the yakiniku, and that was also pretty good but very sweet. Their Boo Yah Ka roll was also pretty yummy. It's essentially a spring roll, but with some spice and citrus to it. I felt that the portion was good for a large meal, but my friend who got the chef's combo definitely had enough for leftovers.

We arrived a little early, so they told us we could sit at the bar & have a drink. We sat there for 15+ minutes & the girl getting things ready for the bar totally ignored us. Right before we were seated someone else took our drink order & said she'd bring them to the table. Hubby got a beer & I got a Tito's & cranberry juice. We ordered an appetizer. While we were waiting they sat another 4 with us. We all expected dinner & a "show", but none of us expected the show we got. One of the staff started screaming at another staff member. We had no idea what the female staff member was saying since her words were not in English. She was so loud & screaming in the bar area so the entire restaurant could hear her. A couple of staff members tried to claim her dow. This went on for several minutes. It was crazy. All us customers were silent & just looking at the girl screaming & yelling. The next thing we know, round two. It was unbelievable. What was even crazier was they didn't send the staff member home! No one came over & said a word. No one apologized or said anything. After all of this, they sat couple with us. Finally the chef came to the table. By this time it was 20 til 6:00. Hubby got the filet with fried rice. I got the shrimp with fried rice. The food was good. However, hubby's steak was over cooked. Thankfully, hubby told the chef he wanted to change the steak from medium to medium rare, or it would have been even more over cooked. I also watch all of the employees but one prepping the food without gloves. This used to be our go to place for, but now with all this issues this time, we will probably have to find a new place.

I…read morepulled in just a little before 5pm on a Wednesday in July, and it was still popping with people parking and walking around. You'd think summer would be a slower time, but it didn't phase this location or others in this shopping center. When walking in, one of my friend's had already grabbed us a table. This place was packed and we were sat in the back room. I'm glad we were as it was even loud in there. Happy Hour prices are great, but may come right at the start to avoid some of the crowds as the noise level was quite overwhelming at times. What We Ordered (pictured): - Korean Fried Chicken Bao Bun: My friend ordered this, and quickly snapped a photo as I found it an interesting special menu item. He seemed overall pleased, but he was surprised they are served like a taco. He didn't know the difference of bao bun versus xiaolongbao. - Dean Martini (Vodka + Blue Cheese Stuffed Olives): $7.95 on happy hour?! Be rude not to, and surprisingly good! Maybe SKYY Vodka is growing on me, though Belvedere or Double Cross remain my top choices for a dirty vodka martini. - Chuck Norris: $11.95 on happy hour, and I was after a roll with shrimp tempura. The lemon juice was so overpowering that I could only eat two bites, and gave to my friend to try and ultimately take home to her husband. Definitely not ordered again or recommend. - Me Soy Horny: $9.95 on happy hour and allowed me to try soy paper as a way to hold the roll together. After getting over the color as seaweed is just so iconic for a roll, I actually enjoyed the roll overall. I think this roll could be majorly elevated with spicy mayo. Ultimately, the sushi isn't spectacular from the two rolls I tried; but for the prices, I think they are overall good. I'd definitely return again on a weekday at start of happy hour to hopefully avoid the crowds. Even if just grabbing a martini and gambling on a different roll to try.

We were excited to eat at this establishment upon seeing the good reviews. We ordered two drinks: Mowie Wowie & Heated Passion. Both tasted very good. We ordered a good amount of food. Miso Soups + Pork Potstickers, Rolls, and Nigiri. The best ones, without a doubt, included Tropic Thunder & East LA Roll, and Daddy's Tuna Nigiri. There are citrus notes in each of these that almost make it feel like a ceviche. We did have some not so good options and those are: beef nigiri, the smoked salmon (I'll get to that one) and salmon nigiri. Although the nigiri was tasty, the portion of rice on each was too much for my personal taste. Each bite felt overpowered and hid the true flavor of the seafood. I also lost a bit of my appetite when I saw the smoked salmon nigiri, and the black spots. Although it is safe to eat, I would expect back of house to serve a salmon piece as if they were being served themselves. Other than that, my date and I had a good time. We would recommend this business, amidst the hit and misses.
