I had my first Sushi Rock & Grill experience last night and it will definitely not be my last! On the hunt for something healthy for dinner, my son requested a california roll and my daughter quickly followed that request with one of her own: "a salmon roll and a cucumber roll." I did a quick search on my Yelp app and saw that SR&G was not far from their pickleball training and decided that a nigiri bento box sounded good to me too... I went online to place an order on their website and was also pleasantly surprised with the prices - it turns out that this meal would not be that much more than what I would normally spend on dinner at a nearby fast food restaurant, yet so much healthier! The ordering process was easy and allowed me to pay upon arrival. I went to pick it up about 30 minutes later and everything looked and tasted delicious. Service was friendly and everything was packed well with the condiments and chopsticks needed for our order. The restaurant itself is in a shopping center and has a casual and welcoming ambiance. Tried this place over the weekend and the sushi is fantastic! I loved it so much that I went the following day to order some more. The sushi quality is nice and fresh, and the servers are kind and attentive. I also love that the solo fish rolls like the salmon roll or yellowtail are huge! I took off a star due to the lady with the silver chain around her neck, who was handling seating people/to go orders up front. She had an attitude towards me and other customers, and I heard her distinctly yell at one of the waitresses because she made a mistake. Sashimi here is great! We went here last month for the first time and tried the Love Boat, great for those who havent had anything to eat in the past couple of hours. It's def filling, but, also you dont feel guilty eating it, as it is all healthy!! We recently tried the sushi sashimi combo, great as well for lower appetite, but, just if you have a craving for good sushi. The quality is very fresh and amazing. Both the combo and the love boat come with Miso soup, which is great and their fresh wasabi is also excellent! The service has been friendly both times be it christmas day or a regular afternoon!! Sushi so fresh and made perfectly into decent size pieces. Better than most happy hour menus. Servers always checking in and clearing empty plates. I work in a freezing office, and needed something hot to save me. I found this place was less than 2 miles from me! Turns out this was an office favorite. I just ordered the tonkatsu ramen to go which had a great creamy broth, bouncy noodles, and great cuts of pork. They had my order all ready for me at the front! This is typically my family's go to spot to door dash sushi from but tonight's meal was so tasteless and underwhelming, like I was legit sad I spent money on this food. I ordered a tempura shrimp udon and instead received an udon soup with 4 pieces of small non breaded shrimp and the flavor was so bland. I added soy sauce and it was still so bland tasting-- and randomly there was sweet canned corn and green beans in my udon. I've never seen that before out of all the Japanese restaurants I've been to. The yellow tail nigiri was also so fishy tasting, I'll be surprised if I don't end up getting food poisoning from it. Wow! This place is popular and it is no surprise why!! I came in on a Saturday night and there was a wait out the door. Definitely a small place, but the sushi was well worth the wait! We ordered the sweetheart roll which is pink and cute but basic in flavor. The rock n roll with cilantro had a good kick to it. They have a good wait system so you can sit in your car and see where you're at in line from your phone. This was very fun for my daughter to see us move up the list. Came here for dinner and the place was packed. We called ahead to reserve a spot, but still had to wait for a table to open up when we arrived (would still recommend calling ahead). We ordered the salmon sashimi, yellowtail sashimi, blossom roll, and rock n roll roll. My personal favorite was the blossom roll but the salmon sashimi was also really good! It was late at night, I was withered, and I craved sushi.... I saw this place was open late and I went for it... It did not disappoint, walking in, the place seemed very casual and clean, with a low light type of vibe. The staff were very friendly, and even though it was a bit late they were happy to serve our table! I ordered some of the sushi that caught my eye and... it was all so fresh and amazing! No pics, but this place... wow. We stumbled onto it while in the east valley. Upon arrival there was a line out the door. Put our name in an waited about 40 minutes talked to others waiting which passed the time. The food was amazing highly recommend popcorn lobster roll! Jalapeño poppers yum with crab.... Then came the check and it was super reasonable like 4 $ at 2$ pricing. So the wait staff got a nice tip! It's a bit crowded but... Servers ask you what you want to order the second you sit down. Everything feels extremely rushed and the service structure is just a lot. Multiple servers are working on all the tables so multiple people are constantly asking you if you're ready to order if you want a refill it's just chaotic lol. Would be nice if the service would slow down. I feel like servers are trying to flip as many tables as they can as fast as they can. And trust me I get it! I am a server as well! After violent craving sushi, I decided to give Sushi Rock & Grill a try. The dining room is small but they turn tables quickly. The menu has a wide variety of options from basic rolls, fancy rolls, fried rice, etc. Appetizers: edamame, shumai, crab bombs, seaweed salad. The seaweed salad was very tasty! They put it over lettuce which was different for me but had great flavor. The crab bombs are there play on crab Rangoon. This was alright, needed more crab for me. Sushi rolls: Tuna roll, spicy salmon roll, shrimp tempura roll. The tuna roll is pretty big, I was pleasantly surprised with the presentation. The shrimp tempura roll had a crab mix in it which made it a bit different than the usual. The service was very friendly and very fast! At times I did feel a bit rushed. I recommend looking at the menu before coming. We were asked if we were ready to order probably 3 times in the span of 10 minutes. Because it's so small they want to turn tables quickly. For dessert we got the green tea ice cream. It was AMAZING! Probably the best item I ate there. Would go back just for the ice cream! read more

The sushi isn't drench in vinegar like a lot of other places do to mask how non-fresh their fish but THIS place their fish is the freshest I've ever tasted in AZ. Alaska Roll- this was so refreshing and the salmon was soo good! $13 Crazy Yellowtail- yellowtail with a kick of spicy from the jalapeño and sriracha sauce. $17 Lollipop Roll- this had a mix of salmon, yellowtail, and tuna so that you get a little bit of everything in one roll! It is wrapped in cucumber so it's refreshing and lite so that you can try more sushi rolls! $17 Blossom- this was very impressive with how much tuna it came in. Great little spot I've been wanting to try. Upon arrival, the parking didn't seem like the place would be filled but we opened the door to be seated and the place was full! The place isn't big but it was filled with big families to couples. We were seated right away and asked what we wanted to drink. Our server quickly brought us some water. my boyfriend and I came in at around 5 PM on Christmas. The restaurant is small and simple, and was pretty much packed (being one of the only places open on Christmas Day). The service was amazing, literally the best service we've ever had - and we're both servers ourselves. Everything came out quickly, the whole service staff was really kind, attentive, kept our table clear and clean, and was prompt about drink refills. As a sushi connoisseur, I try to find a good sushi spot every where I travel. My sister found this spot and we decided to hit it up. Seating area is small but typical for most sushi spots. We came in deep with a party of 6 and they were able to accommodate. Sushi: Everything was delicious. The main reason we came here was because we had seen the Blossom roll and HAD to try it. It met its expectations with presentation and taste. I also ended up getting salmon sashimi and it came with a side of picked wasabi that was the perfect amount of spicy to pick the smooth salmon. Chefs kiss! Everyone else loved their sushi. Baked salmon roll, sunshine roll, dragon roll, lobster roll, and tuna nigiri were all eating and plates were clean!
