I've avoided buying a car from a dealership for so long because I did not want the car payments. Well, my car started to fall apart on me and I decided it was time. I needed just a basic reliable car, so I looked at Temecula Hyundai's website and saw the least expensive Certified Pre-Owned Car on the lot and fell in love with it. A 2017 Hyundai Accent in my favorite shade of blue! I immediately emailed a sale rep and they got back to me right away. Rickard Dicksen was able to let me know how much my payments would be, how much I would get for trading in my old car, helped me get pre-approved for financing, everything! He even had one of his co-workers James bring the car to me to test drive! I felt like VIP. I decided to get the car the next day. Our Hyundai experiment is OVER! In the interest of full disclosure, my wife has worked for Toyota as a Service Advisor for over 20 years and I was an auto repair technician having worked at Cadillac, Chevrolet, and Saturn for a combined total of over 20 years. Between us, that works out to more than 40 years of experience in the auto repair industry. We recently purchased a 2012 Hyundai Accent from CarMax. The price was right and at 24,000 miles the car had low miles, the factory warranty was still intact plus we purchased an extended warranty so we were confident we would have no mechanical problems. Obviously the car needs ongoing maintenance. We prefer to have service performed at the dealership and went down to Hyundai of Temecula to establish a relationship with them. Unfortunately, they are a small store and service is by appointment only so we ended up having maintenance done at an independent repair facility. The Hyundai is 'my wife's' car, she is only off on Wednesday and Sunday, and to further compound matters, she drives from Riverside County in to Hollywood to work. It is far more convenient for us to just 'show up' for service when we have the time to do it. Fast forward 10,000 miles and a couple months - we started to notice the rear tires were wearing abnormally. Knowing the vehicle was out of alignment warranty and assuming we had an alignment problem, we took the car to a Goodyear store to have the alignment checked and corrected if necessary. The tire store informed us that the rear shocks were leaking and needed to be immediately replaced. They also indicated the car was unsafe to drive given the state of the rear tires and that the wear was a DIRECT result of the shock failure. Not wanting to pay Goodyear prices, we then went to three other tire stores getting tire estimates. All three tire stores, not knowing what each of the other stores had told us, advised us that both rear shocks were bad, that both rear tires needed to be immediately replaced, and the tire wear was a direct result of the failed shocks. Back to Hyundai of Temecula. The service advisor at Hyundai said that indeed both shocks were bad, however, because we had never serviced the car at Hyundai, he was only going to replace one shock under warranty. Never mind that we couldn't get in to the dealership to service the vehicle and had to go to independents because of their 'by appointment only' policy. Furthermore, he flatly refused to warranty the tires that, according to 4 different tire stores, the shock failure had caused. We then called Hyundai Corporation directly. Making a long story short, after a couple hours on the phone with several different people, Hyundai Corporation declined to repair the vehicle. Yeah, Hyundai claims they have one of the best new car warranty's available. Only one little problem - they refuse to pay for anything. Every vehicle manufacturer that either my wife or I have had direct experience with will send a customer satisfaction survey to their service customers. Hyundai does not! Clearly they don't care about the people that own a Hyundai and they certainly don't care what those people think. It cost us over $500 to repair a problem that clearly was a result of failed factory parts on the car. We are striving now to get rid of this car as quickly as possible before something really goes bad. We have completely lost faith in the car and more importantly, we have lost confidence in Hyundai. Do yourself a favor - spend a couple dollars more and buy a Toyota or a Honda. read more

This Hyundai dealership has horrible service they replaced the engine on my 2016 Elantra gt. The first time it took them three months. When I finally got my car back it broke down a week later and needed another new engine. They gave me a on site rental car to use and when I brought back the rental car when my car was finally fixed they contacted me a day later and said they were charging me 150$ because there were two nails in the tire. when I dropped the rental car off the car was fine with fully inflated tires. We have a 2011 sonata loved the car at about 68k miles the engine seized we were treated poorly by the Temecula hyundai they refused to replace the engine and said it was our lack of oils changes for the car which was not the case we take care of our vehicles and dont get our oil changed there it a not convient and more expensive. "Sandra" the service manager was very rude to us they had our car for wk wouldnt give us a rental because they said it was not their responsibility. They treat us as criminals like we did something to it. We then took it to someone we trusted and had him replace the engine all this out of our own pocket. Now they are recalling for that issue and the same symptoms we had are the one described in the recall we are fighting for our money back but will take a while Unfortunately it doesn't let me post without a star rating but it would be a negative 10 stars read more

I have bought vehicles in the past from them and got some fair deals. This time around with the Chip Shortage and the limited stock I was impressed that they weren't really putting a bunch markup dollars above MSRP as other lots are doing. It's the trade in value you need to worry about, I was offered 29K for my 2020 Toyota Tacoma SR5 with double cab V6 and the entire package with it (runners, tonto cover, bed lining navigation and alloy wheels) and only 16k on the vehicle. That is 11k below what they would sell it for per what Car Max and Toyota dealerships sell 2020's for used. Ensure you do lots of research as I have on your vehicle trade in and don't get caught up beauty of a new vehicle and get taken for dollars on your trade in. read more

UPDATE 2 - just received an email from the BBB that this dealership has failed to respond to their requests to resolve this formal complaint and recommend I contact the Attorney General. If they did nothing wrong why would they not agree to a third party arbitrated resolution? DO NOT BUY A CAR HERE. UPDATE - when you see 4 out of 5 stars for this dealership that's their historical rating. Click "details" to the right of the star rating and you'll see their 2018 rating is trending DOWN to more like 2.0, which I believe is still generous. As for the service contract, the dealer is not acknowledging fraud - they sold me a service contract for $1,051 and represented it as a full service contract. Never gave me a copy of the contract. I discovered later the contract only covers 12 regular oil changes, the kind you get for $25 at Jiffy Lube (so the contract was only worth $300). The new finance manager told me the guy no longer works there due to issues selling bad contracts. I received three oil changes (worth about $75). They did refund me when i canceled the service contract, but that was only $440 and a 45k service worth about $100. Not even close. read more

The second Porter I asked looked at me like he did not want to help me and so I parked and asked a third Porter who was also very rude and said next time just dive through the service area. This review is for the SERVICE DEPARTMENT, not their finance guy. I repeat, NOT the finance guy. He was enough to make us go elsewhere to purchase. Anyway, Trent in the service department always helps me out. They never push additional services on your vehicle and appreciate when you do maintenance things on your own. I've been getting (almost) all of my recommended maintenance done on my 2013 Sonata here and have had a fantastic experience. There were a couple services on the 15,000 mile that I skipped to keep the price down, and Trent even helped me select the services vital to maintaining a safe and efficient vehicle. I'm giving 4/5 stars because I've had some pretty ridiculous wait times here: 2+ hours. I find it strange that even when you schedule service, you end up waiting the same amount of time as (who I assume are) their walk-in clients. This doesn't stop me from going back because their complimentary shuttle will take you back to work or home while you wait. Thanks, gentlemen! read more

Then...wanting to be a "team player" and "keep my tax dollars local", I swung by Temecula Hyundai to simply ask if they could "match" the offer.... Of course, I was promised over 4 times that they could "match the price"....., but then they (including "the closer") started bashing True Car.....and the "matching" soon went out the window and ended with "well, we can't do that"..... Straightforward, honest and fast. Jason Mershon, the Internet sales manager was great. I turned in my lease and purchased a new Sonata all during lunch, well extended lunch but still very acceptable. Gave me a very fair price on my lease turn in and new vehicle. I was way over on the allowed miles, like 30,000 over. They gave me all the incentives available and didn't try to screw me out of anything. Even drive away with no money out of my pocket. Finally, Pedro in finance was also quick and easy to deal with. Ps. My other Hyundai lease was from Gosch in Hemet. Lease manager was lazy and lacked interest considering I was going to be a repeat customer. Still trying to figure that out? Took Hyundai Sonata in for AC repair at Temecula Hyundai. The repair person called to say the coolant hoses were bloated. Since I've not had any issues with overheating nor leaking or unusual coolant use from the reservoir, I declined the hose replacement quoted at $800. Picked up the car and parked in my clean drive way. The next morning there was a huge puddle of coolant under the vehicle. After inspecting the coolant hoses, I found 3 hoses had the hose clamps backed off their posts by an inch and a half causing significant leaking. I put the hose clamps back in place refilled the reservoir. No more leak. I won't be returning to Temecula Hyundai. read more

Multiple passwords, frequent screen freezes, took me over an hour and aI still ended up just picking up the phone. They've got a LOT of work to do to make this usable. The service department is infinitely better than Hyundai of Laguna Niguel. In general I am not a fan of the way Hyundai motors (not the dealership) handles warranties but Temecula Hyundai makes it as painless as they can while working within the restraints that Hyundai has on them. I am not going to get into the Laguna Niguel dealership here as I have left a review for them on their page... needless to say I will be going back to Temecula Hyundai despite the longer drive and NEVER set foot in the Laguna Niguel dealership again (for service or otherwise). Only word of caution I have is that they are pretty busy so plan for that... guess that is what happens when you are good and people want to use your service department! read more

I drove it home and later was going to go for a ride and the battery was dead. Jumped it the next morning and it worked but shut it off and it is as dead as a mackerel. They had to have jumped it off to get it started when they brought it out. That is pathetic and deceitful. NEVER BUY FROM HERE. Last Hyundai I will ever own. If it is not the fault of the car then it is the dealership. They were even wanting me to agree to buy the car before I saw it. Watch your car being worked on in the waiting room on a huge screen t.v. staff is very friendly and make sure to say hello as they walk by. On September 24th, I registered my out-of-state Santa Fe. The state I was moving from didn't require a front license plate, so I had to go to the dealership to get the plate. I met Gabriel Kotsay in Service, who was very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the plate holder was a special order. We talked to Daniel, who said it would be in by Friday and he would call. On Tuesday the 1st of October, we still had not heard from Daniel, so we called. He said he didn't know why the plate had not arrived, just that it hadn't, and he would re-order it to come in on Friday. This time it actually was ordered and arrived! We returned and Gabriel took control, getting the plate installed as soon as we paid for the plate (labor was NOT charged.) In and out! My free yummy coffee wasn't even cool enough to drink yet & my oil change was done! Wow, fastest oil change ever. The 3 staff members I encountered today were very friendly & helpful. I arrived ~10-15 minutes late but they took care of me right away. I used to go to Hardin Hyundai in Anaheim (where I bought my Elantra), but Temecula is now my spot. Faster service (hmm, perhaps because I no longer go on Saturday's?), better deals (I saved ~$60 on my 30K service compared to Hardin's special at the time), and I feel like my concerns are addressed attentively (1 staff member outlined my next few services when I asked). I love that they have a TV in the waiting room that shows them working on the cars, so you're not wondering WTF they're doing while you sit around. I've wasted a good few hours at Hardin a few times just for an oil change. Never again! 4 stars for now until they figure out my tire pressure situation. I've had a consistent issue w/ my tire pressure light coming/going (mainly on freeway inclines) for the last 1.5 yr or so. It improved slightly after they did my 30K. They adjusted my tires today but the light blinked and remained halfway home. I'm gonna chill on it for now, keep an eye on it, but I'm confident they'll take care of it next time. 4 stars. read more
