I went to this driving range on a Thursday afternoon around 3 PM to practice for a tournament the next day, and the experience was completely unacceptable. I was told I needed to wear a collared shirt just to hit balls at the driving range--something I've never encountered at any range. This is not a Country Club nor was I playing a round on the actual course. There was also no place outside to set golf clubs, so I brought mine inside, only to be scolded by an employee in a way that was rude and completely unnecessary. It was embarrassing and unprofessional. The tone and treatment I received were disrespectful from the start. I left feeling singled out and uncomfortable, and I can't ignore the possibility that I was being unfairly profiled. To make matters worse, the facility itself is run down and poorly maintained, which makes the strict attitude toward customers even more ridiculous. I work for a prominent golf brand and have spent a lot of time at courses and ranges--this was easily one of the worst customer service experiences I've had. I have been in the golf industry for 25 years. I will absolutely be sharing this experience with others. Avoid this place if you expect even basic respect as a customer. TCI will continue to get my business as well as all of my golf connections. read more

I should have read the reviews first. What a dump. The tee boxes are dirt and rock. The roughs are full of ditches and holes. Stupid tall grass. Lost 4 balls in these areas where the grass was 9" high! Some of the ponds are so low and unclean that there is a massive amount of scum floating on top. And the bunkers. OMG. Rocks hard pack dirt. Just horrific. We paid the twilight rate of $45.00 and it was a waste of money and time. Who owns this garbage heap? For shame!!! read more

Played here in the summer, wasn't sure I'd return only because the course was very dry and several areas were dirt. The staff was great, cart service was plenty, driving range ready for warmup, so my only 'iffy' was the course itself. The layout is fun, but the fairways, hmmm. I know the staff is working on refurb so I returned in January. Much nicer vs summer. Sure, some areas are still maturing, but I would say it went from a C/D grade to a B+ or A-, not a bad turnaround. Staff still some of the best around. Carts...GPS, coolers (get your ice from the bar), club and ball cleaners on cart (yay!). Good bang for the buck. Only drawback is we cant take the cart to the parking lot. read more

Has to be atleast top 5 worst golf courses I've ever played in my entire life, every fairway looks like a call of duty mortar strike kill streak absolutely decimated the ground, almost every green is as thick as a fairway but also brown and dead on the edges, bunkers are literally unplayable, please do not waste your money at this establishment, you could go and play Red Hawk for the same amount of money, as matter of fact they should probably pay you to pay here for the amount of suffering you will do on this course, Fairways Un-Maintained, Greens are horrendous, DO NOT PLAY HERE IF YOU ENJOY GOLF! About the worst kept golf course I think I've ever played. And I've played Oceanside municipal back in the 90s, so that's saying something!! Greens are terrible. Tee boxes are abysmal. I think there's more brown than green on this entire course. Fairways are terrible. No sand in the bunkers. The best part of this place is the food, and it's not like they're winning any Michelin stars anytime soon. read more

Very affordable tee time compared to what I'm used to (it was $80 per person and included the cart on a Saturday morning). The worker in the pro shop and starter were both real friendly & the starter was giving us a bunch of tips on the course layout since it was our first time. The course layout itself wasn't too challenging, the fairways were pretty wide . Pace of play was great (we started at 6:50am). I would say that there were a few tee boxes that were flat out dirt... and there were many patches of dirt along numerous fairways. read more

On May 31 at approximately 4:25 PM, a golf ball broke one of our windows near Hole 2. I immediately contacted the clubhouse and requested that a course marshal assist, as the individuals playing at the time appeared to be high school-aged minors. I was informed that the course marshal had left at 2:00 PM and that no one else was available. When I asked what information or assistance could be provided to help resolve the situation, I received none. I fully understand that I live on a golf course and that errant golf balls are an inherent risk. I also understand that accidents happen. However, golfers are responsible for their shots and any resulting damage. What is severely concerning is the apparent lack of enforcement and accountability when minors are involved. Allowing unsupervised minors to play without adult supervision and any process for addressing property damage creates a huge liability and leaves affected homeowners with no recourse. If an adult was with them I would reasonably expect an exchange of information and a straightforward resolution. Instead, there appears to be no accountability from either the clubhouse or the minors involved. No effort was made to identify the responsible party, contact parents or guardians, or address the incident in any meaningful way. I shouldn't have to involve the police to get resolution. It is frustrating that the course actively monitors and enforces nearly every aspect of play, yet when property damage occurs, even when the responsible individuals are caught red handed there seems to be no mechanism for accountability. This approach undermines the honesty, integrity, and personal responsibility that are fundamental to the game of golf. Unfortunately, this course appears to be suffering from the same problem on and off the fairway: weak management and greens that are far far below par. read more

First time golfing here during the week and I regret paying $70 for the condition of this course. Please look elsewhere before booking your tee time here. Course was so bad; the rough looks like an abandoned yard. Patches of grass and dirt on the tee boxes and the greens are not well taken care of. Played 18 on Sunday with my teenage grandson. I hyped up the course as I have played it many times in the past. With that said, it is the most disgusting course I have ever played. WHAT HAPPENED? Are you seeking it to build Condos? The tee boxes have weeds, the sand traps have dirt no sand and many have weeds growing in the sand traps. The fairways are either dirt or dead grass... with either crab grass or weeds in them. The greens are so damaged there are areas that you can't putt from. I am sooooo disappointed! You need to rename your course because the Legends don't deserve to have their names tarnished with such blatant disregard for maintenance. I don't see how anyone would want to be a member there. At one time The Legends course was amazing, My have things changed. What a dump!! read more

I love to come here and play, the prices are fair and staff is always friendly and welcoming. I also enjoy the tasty food they serve in their restaurant. They have something quick for the turn around or they have something a little more elevated to sit and enjoy in the restaurant. Good selection of beer and alcohol as well. I recommend trying out this course and also eating some of their tasty food as well. read more

I have been here a few times during different seasons. The tee boxes are dirt and rocky. Maintenance is always being done on almost every hole. Once you get to the last 9, the grass is not maintained (Very long). The first 4 are pretty much dirt. Make sure you don't start falling behind pace! Otherwise the "Marshall" will come out to get you! But its ok, he leaves at 2pm so then you can do whatever you want. If you are a teenager looking to get away from your parents and cause mayhem, this place is for you! and the best part is, no one can hold you accountable! Load up those booze balls and away you go. Wish I knew this life hack when I was younger. If you want a better experience for the same price, enjoy a scenic drive down the 15 to Welk Resort. The staff is NICE. The course is MAINTAINED. Or even TCI. Way better and the food is great. Will not golf at Legends again. read more

I should have read the reviews. We paid $60 for this dump. Check-in was less than friendly. The tee boxes aren't manicured, they are just partial grass and dirt. The fairways are either dry dirt or broken sprinklers with standing water and mud. Some fairways have exposed electrical boxes. Some of the greens have large patches of dirt. The bunkers are not sand...they are dirt or overgrown grass. I didn't see rakes because why bother taking hard dirt? Good luck finding your ball in the rough. The facility looks abandoned with lack of furniture and green slime that should be ponds. Non-existent Marshalls to speed up play (but that's common most places). Only good thing was the newer golf carts (that you can't take to your car) and the golf cart staff. read more

This is by far the worst golf course in Temecula. I've lived on this course for 27 years and this is the worse condition I've ever seen it. I will never again pay my money to play this poor excuse of a golf course. To the owners please just sell the course to someone who knows what they're doing and can take care of it and make it a nice place to play. read more

See pictures just beautiful! It starts with the outstanding staff, DEAN who took our reservation, BILL the starter ERIN who drive the drink cart keeping us well oiled. ( she found my 3 golf clubs , on hole 14 the par 3 and brought them to me, thank you ERIN) Will I go back? Absolutely I think Better that Hampton Cove Highlands golf course in Alabama. Clean , fast, very fast greens, some with stair step levels on greens. Shots up hill, blind to the shot. Very good sand traps. Had 5 lakes in this course. Ask me what do u not like about this golf course. Carts had USB ports, ball washers & a cooler on them. See my pictures, wish I had taken more pictures. read more

What a poor excuse for a golf course. I can't believe they charge $70 on a week day. This place looks like it's abandoned. I've seen sandlots in better shape than this! The clover has taken over, I lost 6 balls today in deep clumps of clover just off the fairways. The Tee boxes are clumpy with mounds and dips, it's hard to find a level place to set up. The bunkers that do have sand in them are half mud. This used to be a pristine course with bargain rates back in the day. They need new ownership. I don't know how they stay in business! read more

Course is pretty average overall not bad, but nothing super memorable either. The carts are really nice though, and it's always a fun time getting out there with my buddies. Solid spot if you're just looking to have a good round and enjoy the day. read more

I know the course is not in the best condition but he atmosphere is fantastic. Being a member here for what we pay per month is hard to beat. The new manager is working night and day to improve the course and to make us members happy. The girls at the grill are absolutely fantastic. Golfers warning! I understand that bringing outside beverages is frowned upon. I do have to give kudos to the Marshall that stopped us from bringing beers in. He kindly asked me to return them to my car, which is not a huge deal, but when you purchase a six pack of beers at this course, be ready to spend $40 for regular beers at a sub par course before tip. If the course conditions were better kept this would make more sense. This is easily a $50 course charging top dollar for poor course conditions. This is just one golfers opinion. read more

Legends.....what a joke of a facility. Absolutely awful experience coming from a 30 year Temecula resident who plays once a week and visits all the local golf courses. Today's experience involves the driving range. I get to the pro shop at 4:10pm to find them already closed ( website says that they sell balls up to 60min before sunset which is 5:30pm). Although frustrated I said damn, I'll just practice putting. 5 minutes later an employee kicks off 2 guests who were still on the range even though again the website says they can use purchased range balls up to 30 minutes before sunset. The employee was incredibly rude. I decided to chime in and ask why they are closing so early and he proceeds to tell me to leave the putting green and that he wouldn't have sold me range balls because I'm not in golf attire (he said my Columbia Collared Shirt wasn't approved because it was a button down and not a polo). The rest of my attire was fine. Again, I was well put together and their website states a collared shirt (does not specify polo vs buttons). So....Customer Service was flat out rude and they make up the rules as they feel fit. Mind you, this is an average public golf course at best. read more

Legends Golf Club was a complete letdown. I don't recommend anyone waste their time or money here. The course conditions were some of the worst I've ever seen. Fairways were dry and patchy, the greens were damn near underwater on some holes because the sprinklers. The bunkers had no sand in them and also were going weeds out of 90% of them. To make things worse, every tee shot or approach shot seemed to come with a 30-yard uphill or downhill shot. There's no flow to the layout, it's just constant elevation swings that make the round more annoying than enjoyable. And just as we were finally approaching a green, the sprinklers came on. Mid-play. Completely soaked the green. At this price point, you could play literally any other course in Temecula and have a better experience. Legends is not worth it. read more

Very friendly staff from the pro shop to the starter to the snack bar staff and the ranger. They went out of their way to be helpful and welcoming and that set the tone for a very nice Father's day. Prices aren't cheap but also not expensive. Greens are not slow but certainly not fast, they are consistent and have tons of slope so that speed is good thing. Fairways had some thin spots and the rough was too deep or spotty in places or this would be an easy 5 stars. The layout is excellent but I was a little surprised by how sharp a couple of the doglegs were. We played the back tees and a couple were way back from the blues - a nice change of pace. Par 5's are reachable but the hazards make them inadvisable unless you killed the drive in just the right place. The par 3's were near 200 from there a nice challenge. Some of the bunkers are DEEP but what you see is what you get no surprise hazards....except how deep some of the rough is near the green - perfect for US Open week. Pace of play was very good for our early AM time, layout was consistently great with lots of varied elements and the position of hazards made perfect sense - enough to make you a little nervous on some of the approaches but gave you some choices. Will make time to play there again. read more

I visited this range primarily to work on my game. The staff in the clubhouse were friendly, and the staff at the bar and restaurant were fantastic when they were present. They seemed to spend a lot of time in the back. Looking out over the course conditions, it appears to be in terrible shape. It hasn't been my experience in the past which was couple of years ago, and then it was just okay. The course looks dry and resembles a dirt track. read more

Fast forward to 5 years later and it's gotten even worse. The course is in awful condition! It's really been let go. Even the driving range has issues as they don't have any tees on the mats so you can't hit your driver. I asked the guy in the pro shop if there was a reason for the condition and he just said that's how it looks in the winter. Play Redhawk instead... much better and about the same cost. read more

This used to be one of the premier golf courses in the Temecula area. I played there today and I've never been more tempted to walk into the clubhouse and ask for a sleeve of balls to replace a small portion of what I lost in the fairway. When I say fairway, you had one of two options either Shrek's swamplands or the barren, hard pack clay of China Lake. The greens had not been punched recently, but they still put it like they had and the pace of play was completely unmanaged despite a Marshall driving around and doing nothing now if I had paid $25 for this round and had an expectation of playing at a place that largely resembled a cow pasture then I would not be upset. However, I paid a premium price for an experience that I could've had in a dirt field. Do better Temeku you used to be great. read more

Gold course is a dump. Tried to use the driving range with my kids and was aggressively told that collars are required. First was told that it has always been the policy but once I challenged the proshop overlord he said it was new since February. Funny thing was when I told some friends they all said the staff is rude and part of why they stopped going to this train wreck. Bad greens and fairways that never seem to improve. read more

I guess there have been improvements done on the course as some of the reviews were not kind on it's condition. It's not the best and still needs a little more work but much better. Regardless of the 47° temperature, I really liked this course. It's full of challenges and keeps you on your toes, especially the par 5 holes. The staff are friendly and very accommodating. We had a group of 5 but we're split up; however, they didn't pair up anyone else with our two-player. I love that their carts have a built-in cooler for drinks as well as a ball and club cleaner.
