Recently played a tournament here, which was my first time at Journey. For the moment, you drive up, employees from the course are asking to help you with your bags. Love that kind of customer service. The check-in process was quick and easy and then it was off to the practice facilities. From the driving range, chipping area, which included well kept bunkers, and the putting green, it was incredible. Some of the nicer practice facilities I've seen. As for the course itself, it was in really good shape. Not gonna lie, not knowing the course, it chewed me up pretty good. People who knew the course definitely had the advantage that day. There are a ton of elevation changes, elevated tees, and the greens were quick. It took me a while, but I finally started rolling putts much better on the back nine. I would love to blame the course for my high score that day, but I know better. Lol. In full transparency, at times a few holes felt gimmicky, but I think that just comes down to my own personal preference. It's an expensive golf course but you are getting a quality golf experience when playing at Journey. The GPS on our cart did not work for the front nine which was a bummer, but when we made the turn, they happily traded carts for us and got us up and running. The staff really did make this course stand out. I'd be happy to play there again. read more

Great Driving range - Journey at Pechanga. We stayed at the hotel and brought a few clubs to hit some balls the next morning . Golf cart was complimentary with the room and came with cold waters in the cooler. Plenty of balls available to hit as many balls as you wanted. There was also a chipping area to practice on and a putting greens area. Beautiful golf course as well as a snack/lunch area for drinks. Menu for food and drinks was a good selection. I went off solo, early on a Wed. It was like walking around in heaven for 3.5 hours. Challenging for sure. Drives are critical on some of the holes. Greens were immaculate. Fairways nice. Traps soft white sand. Hell I wanted to land in them. They were perfect. Now it was lonely out there. Didn't see to many people. No rangers. I think it's worth the big bucks. read more

Promptly greeted upon arrival and told 'just grab any cart'. Cart included two towels, full ice-chest with water and ice, GPS and Bluetooth stereo sound for your phone. Practice facility included with fee, and it's the best I've seen. Driving area, pitching, putting and multiple areas to do that pitch practice. Well done. Course is in great shape. While fairways are open in some areas, don't be fooled, there are bunkers, creeks, rivers, lakes and more to challenge even the best players. Greens were wicked fast on some, and also unforgiving. Bring your patience and watch those lies. Lots of elevation, be sure to bring dry shoes for early morning gold. Dew point leaves moisture everywhere, something I didn't consider. I wore athletic golf shoes, got some wet socks. Ice stations and restrooms throughout, good to have. Refreshments at the turn get you moving through quickly. Be sure to take two minutes to enjoy the spectacular views, scenery and ambiance. Take some pics, so you'll have plenty of great memories. Journey at Pechanga is still as good as it ever was. Arrived and they took my clubs and loaded them in the cart. Then had a delicious breakfast by fireplace. Nice locker room to get ready in. Carts are plush, seats were padded so it was like a vacation for my ass. Practice is area is for guests, so it's open. Course was open, no one in front of us, no one behind us. Friends wanted to try Pechanga on our San Diego stop from the cruise ship stop. We had to rent a vehicle from the San Diego Airport. It was only a short ride from the port to the rental. The drive from port to Pechanga was almost 1 hour. We didn't have a players card, so registered for one where we were given a free spin to see how much they will add $25 to $100 on your players card. All 7 of our spins only got us $25 free play. No one won anything with our free $25! Place was nice because all smoking is upstairs do if you play downstairs the are was very breathable without cigarette smoke! Place was huge and lots of slot machines. The food court was roomy with lots of tables for seating. We did not eat there but saw many different choices of foods to choose from. Our group was mixed gamblers and non-gamblers. Nice place to try your luck, but if not a gambler, not much to do but walk around the casino and get lost. read more

Epic views, epic course, epic service. If you're going to play a $200 course you want to feel like a VIP. Journey does this in spades. (Casino pun). From the moment you drive into the parking lot, someone is there to grab your clubs and greet you. The clubhouse is clean and loaded with top notch gear. The restaurant makes a great breakfast too. The carts are top of the line. The practice facilities are extensive and in perfect condition. They have tees, towels, water, divot replacers - all available for you to grab as needed. They also bring water and ice around on super hot days. The course is beautiful. I did not see one piece of ground under repair. The greens were soft, but rolled true. Some people whine about it being a gimmicky, resort course - those people are snobs. This is a fun, challenging course. It has scenic vistas, elevation, flat holes, long holes and everything in between. Worth every penny. Hit 'em on the fairway for your best chance to score. read more

Provided my server with a great tip and thanked her for HER service but the management team needs to step it up please. 1 hour wait for food to arrive for 2 people is completely unacceptable. read more

Solid round of golf. They have a huge pro shop with all kinds of things golfers like to collect. Put it this way, they sell small flags for putting greens - not something you see in many pro shops so that should give you an idea of how much they carry. The golf course is a star as well, even in the summertime when it's blazing hot outside. There are incredible views on the holes at higher elevation and there's plenty of great routed holes at "sea level". If you have military status or are a veteran, the discounted rate make this a must play if you're anywhere within 45 minutes of the course. read more

Played journey today , and as a Temecula creek member payed 168 dollars. The range was closed, no chipping practice available and cart path only on a course they don't allow you to walk. No cart girl. And pace of play was so slow which you could of expected. Just saying at that price Maderas or such would of been so much better. Greens weren't great but not bad, fairways were so so. Temecula creek is in much better shape for half the price . Even cross creek is better for less. It was good don't get me wrong . Just not sure it's worth it. It used to be worth it at 125 as a member. Won't be back. read more

So I've been slackin' for a while and it's time I got to writing again. First and foremost, this course is pretty epic. Spectacular vista's abound throughout the course and it has been in nothing short of pristine condition each time I've played. There are a couple of holes that are, shall I say, "challenging" and / or "intimidating", to say the least. For a hacker like me, it's also a bit of a ball eater, as some rough and rugged areas of the aforementioned holes seem to just suck golf balls into their vortex. That said, the greens are typically fast, the fairways immaculate and regardless of what you think you are reading on those greens, everything runs away from the mountains. I've played here twice and my sorry arse has not broke 100 on here yet. But... I don't give up easily, lol. Some of the tee boxes can be tricky to find and the course is pretty freaking long to boot. All of the staff here are courteous and extremely helpful, the golf carts are of the "Rolls Royce" variety and their seats remind me of, (I'm dating myself here), "fine Corinthian leather". When you are on the green on the 18th and finishing up your round, the girls from the course greet you and clean your clubs for ya!!! (Try explaining that one to the wifey, lol). "Oh honey, the girls on the course scrubbed my clubs, putter and balls"... Yeah right. Can hardly wait to go back, but this next time, I think I'll try to avoid the 100 degree temps and enjoy my round even more, as impossible as that may seem. read more

The Good: Outstanding course layout and setting. Course conditions are top notch. Pro shop is stocked with some great gear and has a very friendly and inviting atmosphere. The Bad: The food service at the turn is terribly slow and causes the course to get bogged down at the turn. IT'S VERY SLOW! Green fee is a too much. I have been fortunate enough to play Journey at Pechanga numerous times and the ability to invite others who have never experienced it. From the moment you pull into the parking lot, you are greeted by a friendly staff member who takes your gear down to the cart staging area. The course from tee to green is always immaculate. The terrain for each hole changes from wide open to narrow oak lined fairways, water in play, elevated tee boxes, all requiring good shot selection. If you are in the fairway you'll be rewarded with a perfect lie, but stray off the fairway and you'll deal with thick rough, oak trees, and more. Greens always seem to be in ideal condition and pretty fast compared to other courses in the area. Hole #6 offers an amazing view of the Temecula Valley and a 200 foot drop from teebox to fairway. Early morning tee times are highly recommended as the afternoon can get very windy and make the back nine play brutally long on a few holes. After your round, stay and enjoy a drink at Journeys End on the patio. read more

I came here for a business lunch before I headed to San Diego for an evening event. This restaurant is located in the golf clubhouse. I ordered the baked salmon adobo w/ rice and beans (mixed) - $21. The salmon was just OK. It had a nice crisp to it, but the adobo flavor didn't really come out. Adobo means the dish should be salty, sour, peppery and aromatic. The rice and beans were just OK too. They really didn't have much flavor. Lastly, I thought the price was kind of high for what I received: 3 Stars. The ambiance is very nice. The clubhouse is very classy. There is a fancy private room, and the view from the clubhouse looking out to the golf course is fantastic (pic): 4 Stars. The service was OK. The waitress was nice, friendly and efficient: 3 Stars. This restaurant has a captive audience for golfers before and after a round. However, I would not go out of my way to come here. The Randy Chang Junior Golf Academy at Pachenga Resort, did wonders for my son's golf game, literally in just the evaluation phase before he even starts his lessons. Up to now he usually hit the ground before the ball. The coaches, Brandon and Calvin, were awesome! My son is hi functioning autistic so he will learn exactly what you teach him, but he doesn't like to be around people much. With these two, he was hitting the ball right away and his self-confidence improved tremendously. He was even joking around with Calvin, which is extremely unlike him with people he's just met. We are signing him up to start lessons immediately!!!! read more

We had a great breakfast here! We came in and it was a little busy but we were seated after about 15 mins. We had some time to chat while the staff grabbed coffee and they brought a kids menus for our little one. I was pretty impressed with the staff considering how busy it was. I wasn't going to write this until I saw other reviews, basically stating the same thing. #1, the course is beautiful and in great shape. #2, the carts and practice range are awesome. -BUT- #3, we had a 12:30 tee time and they decided to send a walk-on two-some out, right in front of us at our already delayed start of 12:40. #4, they send out groups every 10 minutes. What is this, a muni course? Should be a min of 14 min for a course of this price. #5, we saw ZERO marshals and ZERO beverage carts. #6, 3 hrs for the front 9 and 2.5 hrs for the back 9 is unacceptable. #7, NOBODY was around and the entire building was locked up when we finished at 5:30. Where is the hospitality? In short, we were HIGHLY dissapointed in the way the course is being managed. The green crews need to be complimented and everyone else needs a serious talkin-to. read more

immaculate greens, also a treat to pass through some of the structures left intact setup by the native people as you advance to the next tees. Interesting and challenging elevations, as well as deceptive slopes while putting around the surrounding mountains/hills/plains. Theres a bit of everything - a links style, a target style, and you've-got-to-be-kidding holes that takes you from the base of the starting course up through the elevations , to launching your shots over valleys and canyons. This course will require you to draw or cut your shots, and depending on where you land, that slice or hook shot can come handy as you weave your ball around large obstacles. The expansive space allows a few of the holes to played in different paths - some split - some lead to large oak tree obstacles, and some have 90 degree approaches. It's a lot of fun - I recommend folks having some experience in golf before playing here just so that the Tee fee's are worthwhile as it does run a bit more than your local muni course. You might be tempted to use driver on every hole but boring golf is a good strategy. Watch out for those gusty winds as they wrap around the mountains and across the course - they swirl and really do take off a lot of distance read more

We have not been here in a long time. The resort is under a lot of construction. They are adding a hotel wing and building a huge pool, resort area by the golf course. The course was in, as usual, fabulous condition. Recently over-seeded so it was cart path only which was a bit difficult given that I have a broken toe ( no reflection on Pechanga- more my own stupidity of playing with a hurt foot) It was a beautiful weather with a light breeze but sunny. It was like the golf course had ordered the weather. We had the course to ourselves. I love that because we are pretty fast players. This course is quite tricky and each time I play, there are always plenty of challenges to meet. The views from some of the tees are spectacular. Staff are friendly and helpful. Clubhouse is beautiful with a really nice restaurant adjacent. The locker rooms are beautiful and well maintained. Overall, you just can't find a nicer course in that area. It is worth the price. There is absolutely nothing to be disgruntled about at all!! Try it out. If you like to be challenged and enjoy a nice round of golf, then this course is for you. read more

Played here 2/28/22. We were treated like we were at a posh country club. An attendant greeted us at our vehicle, took our clubs, and loaded them onto a cart. Carts are Club Cars and the seats feel like sitting in a comfy recliner. Carts have a small ice chest on the side w/ ice. Water, ball markers, tees, and bag tags are available. 2 folded towels were on the seat for us to use. Even the restrooms on the course are nice, and the women's is stocked w/ hand lotion and sunscreen. At the end of the round, an attendant came to our vehicle to return the cart to the barn. We are experienced golfers, kept up w/ the group ahead of us, and it was still a 5 hour round. If you are a 2some, you will get partnered w/ others. We had a great time w/ the golfers assigned to play w/ us. No kikuyu anywhere on the course:):) Course is beautifully kept. Greens are in good shape with mown collars surrounding. Course is challenging and forgiving and loads of fun all at the same time. Got a lot of roll at this time of year. Greens are fast and don't always hold the ball. Bunkers have steep sides. Bunkers need sand. The dormant fairways weren't an issue although the golfer needs to be aware of possible slipping when swinging through. Beware of balls from other tees finding their way to your fairway. Many blind spots on various holes; use caution. Course is gorgeous, set in the mountainside. Many ancient oak trees. Spectacular, breathtaking views of the valley from higher tee box elevations. The natural flora is integrated into the course perimeter. Play in the morning if you can; the wind comes up in the afternoons. Would have liked to have lunch at Journey's End after, but it closes at 3:00 and we missed it. It has lovely views of the course and the mountains. Green fees are pricey; it was a splurge. Had a great time, will come back. read more

First off the course is great. That being said... you'd think that for 120 bucks you would see a cart girl more than once...which was on the 1st fairway... and the the snack shack would be open pasted 5pm. We teed off at 2:30 and didn't make the turn until 5:30. So basically no food or drinks for 5 fn hours and the 2 little water bottles they gave us didn't last long in the 90° heat. Completely disappointed and DEFINITELY wont be back ! read more

Beautiful course. Played the first 6 holes at a nice pace. Got to 6 and it started to slow down and by the 11th hole we were waiting on every tee and every shot. I called the pro shop to ask if they would send someone to try to figure out why it was taking so long and they never did. We finally had to quit after the 16th hole took 20 minutes and there were 3 groups on 17. For a premium course at a premium price they need to have rangers on the course so EVERYONE can enjoy their round. read more

Course as always is beautiful. Today I'm more annoyed about the staff in the pro shop. Terrible customer service.... 3:50 tee time Friday after work. I drove 2 hours to play this course... $ 100, you think customer service would be a priority. Anyway 4 groups backed up behind a terrible 4 some. I call to ask if they can do something, and they act like I'm the problem??? 5 hour round, and did not even finish. Nobody did anything, 3rd time there and probably my last time for a long time. This is the 3rd time I've played Journey At Pechanga and again, this course did not disappoint. We began our round a lot later than I usually like to play and the wind was definitely a factor for the 1st 12 holes and not calming down until maybe the 13th fairway. This golf course is in immaculate shape! The condition of their driving range, pitching/chipping green, putting green, tee boxes, fairways, greens, etc. are all in pristine condition. Even sections marked off for repair by stakes and sprinklers are in better shape than most other golf courses I usually play on. They also have one of the nicest golf carts around with semi-bucket seats, GPS, Bluetooth stereo speakers, USB charging outlets, and the carts are very well maintained. We were fortunate to not have any groups which we could see either ahead of us or behind us so we weren't being held back or pushed and was able to just finish our round before we lost the last bit of daylight. There were a few elevated signature holes which you're hitting from way up the mountain overlooking the Temecula Valley below. The windy conditions were the only thing preventing this round from really being enjoyable. That said, we were celebrating my oldest son's 23rd birthday playing with my brother, 1st cousin, and my son. The guys at the pro shop were all great, there were no real complaints and if you really want to play on a course which resembles a private golf club, book a tee time here at Journey! It's one heck of a golf experience. read more

Course is a 10/10! I had the pleasure of meeting Scott Mallory and he's super cool and down to earth and makes sure your day is going to go well. I was paired with 3 guys who should never have been playing the black tees. We fell behind and thankfully Scott came and sped them up at the end so I could get to my dinner reservation at the Great Oak. My only recommendation would be to ask a player to hit one for the Marshall on the driving range before the round starts and enforce the tee that said player/group should be playing from to speed up play. Also let players know not to spend over 2 min looking for their golf ball on errant shots. Overall a fantastic experience and I'll definitely be back! read more

Stayed at the Pechanga casino and had breakfast at the Journey restaurant, brought my Yeti coffee cup to the table. Forgot the cup and returned the next morning for breakfast and was told it was found from the day before. When the staff went to look for it they could not find it, talked to Richard the manager and he was very apologetic, but still they found it and then lost it, very disappointed. read more
