Dr. John Chrisagis is a patient, thorough doctor. However, he is also very candid and funny. I only see him once a year for a check-up, but each time I am impressed with his clear explanations and suggestions. Only 4 stars because my appointment took an hour and a half and I was one of the first appointments of the day. Also, the support staff, while very friendly and accommodating was a bit all over the place. I was passed off to 3 different assistants during my visit. This seems to be unusual, but it was a bit confusing. Overall, the office is clean, professional and you can't find a better guy than Dr. Chrisagis - and he's the one you are trusting with your health. read more

Doctor is good. However, the eyeglass techs are not. I've been wearing glasses for years. Whenever I've purchased a new pair in the past, the tech has always checked and adjusted the fit of the frame to stop it from pressing my nose, rubbing on my ears, falling down... These folks just handed me the glasses. And this was three different frames with two or three different people. None of them checked to make sure they fit. When I explicitly asked one of the ladies to do it, she TRIED but was unskilled and unable. She did not know what she was doing. I ended up taking the glasses to a different eye center. The technician there helped me get them fitted. I will be taking my business to the new shop. Tempe Eyecare Associates needs to put their staff thru some basic training. (By the way, I bought glasses here a few years ago and had a good experience. The staff has changed since then. Looks like a lot of their good reviews are old...) read more

My husband is having an awful experience with ordering contacts with the person that is in "charge" of it, claiming that she is not being told when to order them, and he has to wait longer. This has happened twice with the same order. Not only is ordering contacts an issue, he had to wait 6 weeks to receive his frames due to them forgetting to order them. Hidden Fees!!!They charged me $125 for showing me how to fit the contact lenses, before they send someone to help me with that, no one ever told me there's a extra fees for that. I found this practice by an accident turn and it turns out to be the most pleasant experience I ever had, visiting an eyecare doctor. I was impressed by the cleanliness and organization of the office and friendliness of staff. It was easy making an appointment and having your insurance checked out right away prior to visiting the doctor. Dr. Kelsey is very down to earth and funny. He made it very clear and easy for me to understand his medical lingual. He took time to thoroughly checking out my eyes, listened to my concerns, explained things that I can understand and gave me the best eyecare options to choose from. He's ESPECIALLY FUNNY! I had been going to eye masters, then a friend recommended me to an eye doctor in Ahwatukee, right by my house who was all about the money and charged outrageously, put me in a toric lens.Then I found Dr. Chrisagis in my VSP insurance book, probably 3-4 years ago and recommend him to everyone! I came here because of the fact of its good ratings, they were obviously booked so it took two weeks to get in but it was well worth the wait. In the beginning the front desk ladies are pretty dry but the back of house staff is nothing short of amazing, and the doctor is also deserving of 5/5 stars herself. At the end of my appointment during check out the front desk women seemed more inviting and also were nice upon my return (check in appointment). I drive 20 miles to come here. I have had terrible vision my whole life, and I have seen many specialists. They were able to get by vision from 20/800 to 20/50. This is by far better than any other doctor has been able to correct my vision. Additionally I don't have vision insurance and they work with me and don't charge me for extra tests that are not necessary. I will come here as long as I live in Arizona. read more

My experience here was as professional as it comes. Everyone I interacted with in the office was extremely efficient with me. The initial technician administered all of my tests in what must have been less than ten minutes. I barely had time to blink and it was done (you can't blink, though). When Dr. Chrisagis arrived in my patient consultation room, all of my results were ready for him. I really appreciated that he explained to me how to read the photo he took of my retina, so that I could understand what he was looking for and how to identify it. He then asked me what my concerns were, a few related questions, explained the results of my tests to me, and told me what my options were. I really appreciate such straightforward and knowledgeable communication with my doctor, and felt well-informed to be able to make the best decision for myself. I have found that this kind of communication with a doctor can be rare, so I value it when I can have it. Even though he seemed to anticipate what kind of questions I might ask, he still asked if I had any other questions. I love that! The optician I worked with was equally knowledgeable and helpful. She explained the components of the glasses I chose, how they would be adjusted to fit, and explained all of my options to me without attempting to convince me about any product. I really think she went out of her way to be as unbiased as possible to allow me to make my own choice, which I really appreciate, because I didn't feel pressured at all to get something I didn't want. That was a relief to me to be able to take my time making my choice without any pressure. She really knew when to make herself available, and when to allow me time to think. She even helped direct an incoming patient to another available optician working there so that she wouldn't be interrupted while she helped me. This is a place where you can tell that the people there have experience and value professionalism. I highly recommend them. read more
