My husband was nice enough to book us a table here on Kentucky Derby Day. It was a great experience. It is the upstairs indoor restaurant overlooking the racetrack at Gulfstream Park. For Derby Day they had an all day buffet available. It included salads, oysters, shrimp, bourbon meatballs, bbq pork, fried chicken, potatoes, deli meats and cheeses, macaroni and cheese, and a carving station with ham, turkey and prime rib. There were also about ten different desserts available, as well as a pasta station. Service was great from the servers. They also had individuals walking around to take bets at your table. They also had a nice balloon backdrop to have your picture taken and then sent the picture to your phone. A great experience overall. read more

We spent No Kings Day at the Sport of Kings and had a great time. Most of the reviews here focus on the buffet, but it's worth noting that you can also order from the à la carte menu. We chose the Ahi Tuna Bowl -- a vibrant mix of cucumber, ogo, sticky rice, edamame, avocado, radish, furikake, sesame soy dressing, and wasabi mayo -- and the Faroe Islands Salmon Bowl, which featured the same fresh and flavorful ingredients. September 1, 2024: Unfortunately, I was unable to stay for lunch with my widows group because I had my registered service animal. We travel on Brightline from Palm Beach.. In the past years I've had an inviting experience. He's trained and lays on the ground never barks etc.. Love the food, ambience and service staff! Unfortunately, my understanding is they had a negative experience with a service animal (a little peeing accident) and now you must keep them in a carrier only. Went there on a Friday. The website indicates and hostess told us there is a $45 hour minimum per person on Fridays. They do not tell you that there is a 20% service charge added to the bill. This is neither on the website, nor mentioned by the hostess or the server, but instead is listed on the bill at the very bottom in small print. Our server was pleasant and incredibly slow. He struggled at times and was helped by his co-workers. Appetizers were good, main courses were mediocre. I did like the key lime pie. They had local craft beers on tap which I thought was nice, though the first craft beer I tried was flat. Go there for the view of the race track. Tried to find a menu online but couldn't find one. A friend made a reservation for us and we chose the buffet as opposed to the regular menu. Beautifully displayed food! Bread station, salads, meats and cheeses, 3 different carved meats, hot food buffet , an omelette station and desserts too. 1 mimosa per person included with buffet. We sat by the windows with a great view of the track. There was also a table side tv, so we could see other views. People came by to take our bets but we used the app and there were computers around to wager with a voucher. Nice place read more

I recently went for the brunch buffet here and had a great time! The food was good and service was excellent from the moment we walked in to when we left. The restaurant has great views of the track with the tables by the finish line having the best view. Their prime rib and shrimp were my favorite part of the buffet but they have so many other offerings. The carving station had prime rib, ham and turkey. They also had an omelette station and things like platters of grilled veggies, ribs, mahi, charcuterie board and other goodies. They had many different desserts with something to please everyone and they had another section with just different types of bread, scones etc It's not a large buffet but what they offered was good. The cost is $50 per person and includes one mimosa per person with the opportunity to purchase more drinks if you'd like. They also include a 20% service charge of which this staff was totally deserving of. If you like watching the races and want to have a good meal at the same time this is definitely a fun place to do both. I can't wait to go back! read more

The brunch buffet had literally everything. The charcuterie boards had selections of cheese - from Gouda to cheddar, the meats were prosciutto to hard salami, fruits from melons to strawberries, crackers of every kind, salads then on to appetizers - meatballs, crab cakes, oysters, shrimp and more. Then main meal entrees- fish to roast beef. Vegetables to Mac and cheese. The dessert table had chocolate covered Oreos and cakes from cheesecake to fudge cakes. Something unexpected! Ten Palms was an absolutely delicious brunch which provided various options. The menu included hints of a local touch with the Creole black rice, mojo seasoned vegetables, and macaroni and cheese croquettes. Trust me there is plenty more. They had a charcuterie board with cheeses, meats, nuts, dried fruits and fig preserves. Outside of the buffet area they had an entire pastry, bagel and bread area freshly fixed. There was a fresh omelette station, Italian food, soup, and dessert station. Oh, a must mention, the horse races are visible from the buffet. You can get a window view inside in the air conditioned dining room or you can sit outside with track viewing. Those who are enthusiast of the race betting is available from your table seat. I would definitely come again and I'm glad we decided to stop in and eat. Impeccable service, the employees were extremely friendly, attentive and the food is fresh. They rotated everything out. Ten Palms is a one-of-a-kind restaurant right at Gulfstream Park Race Track in Hallandale. There is ample seating available inside and outside. Plus there is a full bar inside right beyond the hostess stand. Prices are moderate; however there was a $45 per person expenditure requirement that we were unaware of when we made our reservation. Kind of feel like someone should have informed us of this when we called to make our reservation. (We were there on a weekday and I believe it's even higher on the weekends.). It's not a bad value if you plan on watching or betting on the races and staying for quite a while; unfortunately we arrived at about 2:30 and we were lucky to get a dessert order in right as the kitchen was closing. Views of the track are incredible from inside with the a.c or outside in the fresh air. You can place bets from your table, (cash only, but there is an ATM inside.) We weren't big gamblers; just $2-$10 per bet; so the gentleman taking bets didn't stop by very often. There are also closed circuit t.v.s at the tables that show odds & race info. And if you want to get really close to the action you can walk downstairs and check out the races from right along the racetrack. My husband and I started out with drinks and the red pepper hummus appetizer. It came with with carrots, cucumber, celery, olives, and some pita pieces. It was good and reasonably priced at $14. For lunch I had the bacon cheeseburger. It was good; but nothing special, and was priced a little high at $17. My husband had the mahi-mahi sandwich and he said it was good, but not spectacular, as well. Instead of french fries he substituted tostones which he liked but he said they could have been a little saltier. The mahi-mahi sandwich was also a little high at $19. The best part of our meal was the key lime pie. It was a little mini pie with just the right amount of tartness, baked in a graham cracker crust and garnished with whipped cream and blueberries. It was $9 snd we finished it off quickly! Delicious! Ten Palms has a big menu with food that was pretty good. I would definitely give it another try and make a longer day of it. The Independence Day celebration at the Ten Palms Restaurant was well organized with plenty of food and dessert choices available. It was buffet style and all you can eat too! I would have given 5 stars however the food was cold and I would have preferred to be served on the buffet line for sanitary precautions. The price point of $35 dollars per person was a great deal and the servers were attentive to our tables needs at all times. Listening to the music and watching the jugglers, stilt performers and the fireworks show from the Ten Palms Restaurant was nothing short of spectacular! read more

This buffet wasn't worth $50 0r even $20. Luckily, we walked out before we paid for their weird assortment of dishes. The pastries and bagel area looked like a child made these and were very unappealing. The entry started with a rude manager in a 1980's style vest interrupting his worker taking our reservation. Then we had three rude workers telling us to use certain plates and others saying we needed a wristband...all very annoying people. Came for the Kentucky Derby. OpenTable listed this as "An Experience" @ $75/pp + 20% auto gratuity. An hour and a half after walking in, our tab for 3 people was $285! This was a complete joke of a buffet which offered a salad table, raw bar with stinky peel and eat shrimp and oysters, some "not so hot" side dishes, entrees included beef stew, Turkey, prime rib and chicken legs. Also there was a pasta table with cheese wheel and a dessert table. Soft drinks were also included. Do yourself a favor and run away!! This buffet was maybe worth $29.99/pp. My guess is they allow people to stay the entire day, watch the races and graze. At this price you can go to the finest Brunch places in Miami- Zuma, Ritz, Four Seasons etc, have bottomless drinks included and impeccable service at that price. If you're here for the races, you can even go downstairs to the Carousel Club for better food, alcohol and more importantly atmosphere. Even if you are not into horse racing, Ten Palms is still a cool place to go for a Sunday brunch. For the price and what you can do, it is totally worth it. The Sunday brunch buffet is $45 per person. The buffet did have a variety of foods to eat. However, it could have offered just a bit more especially once it starts to go into the afternoon hours. Perhaps switching out a dish or two with something else to give the ppl that were there early a different dish to entice them to stay and gamble more. One of my not so favorite dishes of the buffet was the french toast. Way too thin. I get that it is being produced for mass production but quality should be there. This is a dish that could be rotated out after a certain time. Should you choose not to take advantage of the buffet, one must still spend $45. There is a regular menu that consists of buffalo wings, conch fritters, etc. Each of the aforementioned were delicious except for the sauce provided with the conch fritters. Drinks are included in this $45 requirement. So with an app, entree and drink, you can easily reach this. Overall, I would come back. I am not into horse racing but being at Ten Palms peeked my interest a little bit. Enough to at least watch. Lol. read more

Both times we have been here the front of house staff- particularly the host/ess have been so rude and condescending that I was ready to walk out. Had it not been for the fact that my girls get a kick out of the races and this is the only decent place to eat at Gulfstream- I would never spend another dime here!! The options for their fresh seafood selection, cheese/ fruit/ meat trays and desserts are 10/10. Some entree items leave a bit to be desired but all in all good solid food. Ten Palms Restaurant is an awesome way to enjoy some horse racing with your friends in the comfort of air conditioning and an all you can eat buffet! One of my girls loves the races and casinos, so she coordinated a group of 12 of us to visit Ten Palms on a Saturday to celebrate her birthday. It was an awesome time. The way it works is you pay $45 pp for an all you can eat brunch buffet. The buffet is not the most inventive food you will find, but it is replenished often, and well executed. There's a carving station- with prime rib, chicken, ham, as well as a pasta station where you can make your own pasta creation. I loved the mushroom ravioli, as well as the make your own Alfredo pasta from the pasta station. (As you can tell I ate all da carbs) Other than that there's salad, latin inspired meats and sides and a nice mini dessert spread. The buffet includes soda and coffee. As for drinks- I enjoyed a nice Bloody Mary as well as wine. The service is attentive, and for a large group they did awesome at making sure our drinks were replenished and they also split the bill super easily. The wine was about $9 a glass and so was my Bloody Mary- not too shabby! My fave part about this is you can eat at your leisure as you bet on the horses. I am the worst gambler, and always lose, but it's fun to make bets and enjoy a nice afternoon with friends. We hung out for almost 5 hours so I also appreciated ten Palms doesn't rush people out. Would definitely come back to enjoy the track in the comfort of AC with as much food as you can eat while you lounge. read more

Decent buffet with a great spot overlooking the races. We came here with friends for the Sunday brunch buffet (made reservations) and sat at table #128 with a good view of the finish line. Food: the buffet includes 2 mimosas and you wear a paper bracelet to be identified as a buffet person. There's a selection of salads, cold cuts/cheese, grilled veggies, soup, entrees (chicken, salmon, green beans, etc.), meat carving and omelette stations and desserts - all of which seemed fresh and replenished throughout the day (we were there for about 4 hours.) The food was pretty good and I was extremely full afterwards but there was nothing outstandingly memorable. The only thing I got seconds of were the grilled veggies and mousse. I think I've been spoiled by buffets at Asian and Indian restaurants, and ones in Vegas, Thailand and Hawaii so this wasn't even comparable for me. Service: our waiter and waitress kept the mimosas and bloody Marys coming and cleared out empty plates regularly. I don't know if the people who take the horse racing bets are staffed by the restaurant but our guy Steve was really helpful explaining how certain types of bets worked. We don't really bet or know anything about horses but my husband did put a couple dollars down on a horse with a cool name. Experience: interesting way to spend a Sunday afternoon watching horses run and hanging out with friends. Multiple times of asking the bartenders for a drink was I brought something completely different and when getting the drink (I thought I ordered) it was wrong. What a memorable day we had celebrating my best friends upcoming wedding by having a girls' bachelorette party at Ten Palms! The wait staff (Antonio) was attentive, as were our wagering stewards Laura and Steve. All six of us had the Saturday buffet, although ordering a la carte from the menu is also available. Everything was delicious - prime rib, peel and eat shrimp, turkey, fish, charcuterie, salads, soup, pasta bar and deserts galore! Some places have a pretty display of deserts that look nice, but when you go to eat them, they're meh. Not here! We drank Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc throughout the day with a few cocktails scattered in amongst our group. You can imagine our surprise when the general manager came over and gifted us with two bottles of Moet and Chandon champagne! How generous and classy! We had such a good time, we couldn't believe where the day went when we realized it was the 11th race of the day. The 7 hours we were there just flew! Our bill was $600 for the six of us for all we could eat and drink. I'd say that's an outstanding value! Even after the $150 tip for Antonio and $100 for Laura, you can't really find a better way to spend a day celebrating your best friends wedding! read more

The food of the Local beef Sliders were excellent. Lobster Roll was small but good. Poke Tuna was OK The Margarita was small , made in correctly too strong & in a wrong rocks glass. The waiter was very inattentive & not very helpful or friendly. He got several things wrong. But the fix was in which explained his attitude. 20% auto gratitude on your bill. Other staff were nice that a helpful casino lady would come to our table & handle all of our gaming transactions including paying out on our winning tickets right at the table. Don't forget to tip her. They have many nice AV components through out the restaurant like many Martin Audio components Tops & Subs with BSS Distributed Processing & Distrubution, but they were not using it, just using the small overhead ceiling speakers. Tv monitors at the tables w/ CCTV of each horse race was informative & enhanced the viewing experience. This was our first visit to Gulfstream Park and we reserved Ten Palms Restaurant for an afternoon of thoroughbred racing. Charles Townsend and his restaurant team were so friendly and helpful throughout our experience. The waiters are magnificent and always eager to take care of anything you want. The food is excellent, above the "bar fare" a person normally gets at a race track. A Blackened Mahi Mahi sandwich was served open faced and not overdone. A limited but excellent wine list. Recommend the freshly made sangria! The weather and seating were outstanding and guaranteed a great afternoon, even if we didn't necessarily pick the winning ponies! read more

My wife, mother in law and I enjoyed Gulfstream Park as part of our sunday brunch routine. We had reservations at the Ten Palms Restaurant for lunch and enjoyed it very much. There was an outstanding variety of selections including prime rib, turkey, and pork at the slicing station. From the salad bar choices to the desserts, it was absolutely wonderful. The racing was great and the mimosas (14 of them later) even better. The restaurant allows you to overlook the track. If you would like, you can step outside to watch the race. When you arrive at Gulfstream Park, there are a number of choices for parking. We chose to park valet and skip the hassle and inconvenience. There is free admission to Gulfstream Park and a beautiful walking ring to watch the horses warm up before each race. The day started rainy as you will see from my two pictures, but the sun came out and it turned out to be a marvelous day at the track. April 2022, came here for a Sunday Brunch, our server Rita was FABULOUS! Plus all of the rest of the staff. The restaurant is large so no problem getting seated, but best to make reservations. There was a large group of us for Sunday Brunch and our deal came with one Mimosa. But be careful because they also have a brunch deal without the Mimosa. The food was ok and there was lots of it, from Roast Beef to Desserts, and all you can eat. The best part of the Brunch for me was the Horse Racing. All and all, it is a great way to spend the day with friends or family. One note walking around the outside area, it looked like a lot of the restaurants were closed down, so I would call ahead to see if they are open. Honestly, the outside area looked like a ghost town when we were walking around. Also, there is plenty of free parking, next to the restaurant which is upstairs, near the casino. read more
