Out with the hubby for date night and happened to see The George and the menu looked ok so we headed in. He noticed downstairs (it was Sat night) it was a comedy show night - so we ended up going downstairs... [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vibe down there is cute, couches, dim lit, comics, small stage[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], Ordered a ton of food. Got some drinks. It was a good night, the comics were funny, the place is small enough for lots of crowd participation. The food was just meh, but I imagine you dont go here for the food after having been in the club, [[HIGHLIGHT]]Loved the vibe and would go back for drinks and another show.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Would just eat somewhere else next time. The staff was all great, super welcoming and friendly!

2.5/5 stars [[HIGHLIGHT]]Beautiful venue I'm sure in the light of day.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We came here in evening for Valentine's Day and left a bit disappointed, especially given the $200+ bill. Drinks were the best part, and the crab cakes were fine, but my steak was cold and poorly presented, and the lamb chops felt overpriced for the portion. We were seated downstairs despite reserving upstairs, and valet parking wasn't mentioned, so we paid to park separately. Overall, I don't want to judge the entire restaurant by a single busy holiday service, but for the price, the experience left us underwhelmed. With better communication, attention to detail, and consistency in the kitchen, this place could be worth the splurge -- but unfortunately, Valentine's Day just wasn't it for us. Probably one of the only bad restaurant experiences in dealing with a restaurant that is in $100s of dollars in table price since I've lived here. Very underwhelming. Definitely couldn't risk going back.

This place is absolutely incredible! We showed up randomly on a Saturday night and they were able to accommodate us easily on the bar side. [[HIGHLIGHT]]From the outside the place looks a little divey, but inside it is beautifully decorated and furnished. Very colonial means modern, dark heavy wood, linen table cloths and cozy/comfy seating[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. The food and drink meanu is extensive and impressive! I got a major kick out of signature cocktails all being revolutionary wat themed. I ordered "The Pear-fect President" and it truly was a perfect cocktail. For dinner I ordered the surf and turf special. The filet was cooked and seasoned to perfection, the shrimps were large and you could tell the mashed potatoes were freshly made in house. This is place could go back and back to!

Check out their Monday night specials, entrées & a bottle of wine for $55. What a great deal in this day and age of dining prices increasing. We met friends there and all of us enjoyed our dinners. I have the slow cooked beef shank on the special menu, moist and tasty like grandma's Sunday dinners. It came with soup, salad and wine, tho not high end, but very drinkable. [[HIGHLIGHT]]George is reliable for a tasty meal in a swanky environment and very good service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

It is not The George I remember. Haven't been in a while and decided for a Valentine's Day dinner with my girlfriend. Well, the meal was not worth the money. Lobster was overcooked in seafood fra diavolo. The stuffed mushroom appetizer served on a bed of wilted lettuce? Are we in 2002 to put 5 stuffed mushrooms on wilted lettuce leaves? The lamb was actually good, so that saved it. I will say that it is unlikely I'll come back to the George. But, I used to love this place.

I was pleasantly surprised at this restaurant that is a block away from the convention center. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is amazing! It's a mix of high end dining with a casual feel.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The drinks were wand my salmon was so flavorful. The service was good and pleasant. I look forward to returning.

When dining out, if the food is fantastic, I can overlook mediocre service or ambiance. The George, on the other hand, provides great ambiance and service, but the food was nothing particularly special or memorable. Our favorite dish was the pork chop, which was paired with classic sweet apple and maple flavors, and a hearty mound of home style mashed potatoes. The French onion soup was sweet and comforting, but the focaccia used made me miss a traditional bread crouton that is better suited to soak up broth. Similarly, the salty toppings and flavor combination of the prosciutto and arugula pizza and garlicky Asiago crust was really good. Like the soup, the "bread" was disappointing as the dough showed no signs of being grilled, and it was tough and chewy like a store bought Boboli. * Note, they charge a 4% fee for payment by credit card, which seems excessive and unethical.

Amazing as always! The George is a consistently great dining experience. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is perfect for a romantic date night and we were seated near the bar where the owner and various other musicians played the piano.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] So many talented individuals! The dirty martinis with blue cheese olives and sangria were perfectly made. The calamari with the Thai chili sauce was phenomenal, it was crispy and tasty. My husband said it was the best calamari he has had. We both thoroughly enjoyed our entrees, I had the chicken francese and he had the short ribs. If you are going to a show at PPAC, this is the perfect location for a pre-show meal...then you can stop back for a drink and live entertainment after as well. I also love that the owner stops by tables to check on your meal!

I went here for dinner for my birthday I did not enjoy the meal but I was pleasantly pleased with the waiter which made up for the disappointment with the meal. I ordered the veal dish and the veal was very bland no flavor. My replacement dish was the beef short ribs which were okay. The beef short rib was cold but thankfully the mash potatoes were hot. My husband ordered the risotto and scallops dish. He enjoyed the scallops but the risotto wasn't fully cooked and some of it was crunchy. We also ordered the crab cakes and although the crab cakes had good flavor and seasoned well. The crab cakes had a lot of filler of breadcrumbs very little crab. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was beautifully decorated and the piano playing was lovely.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Best pork chop I ever had! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambience was nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Staff were super friendly and helpful. Everything on the menu sounded good. I got their pork chop on recommendation. It didn't disappoint.

Went here before the P-Bruins game to have a quick drink and wow what a cool place! The interior is a travel back in time, the Bartender was professional and courteous, will go back to try the food.....Definitely will go back!

Awesome Sunday brunch !!! The Bloody Mary topped with a lobster tail says it all.

Awesome Holiday brunch!!! Food, service, ambiance and if course cocktails were great.

Headliner for the night in a full house.

How difficult is it to get a seat near the piano for drinks on a Saturday night?

When I was there they were just starting out and it was easy to walk in with no reservations. My friends, who live in the area, tell me it is slamming busy now. Unless something has changed, the piano player is only there on Thursdays. Friday and…

I was lucky to have tried North when it was open so when I saw the former chefs were preparing the meal for Chef Night, I knew I had to sign up and was so glad I did. The meal was stupendous! The first course was shrimp and corn fritters. The fritters were filled with shrimp and corn and you can visually see the shrimp and corn. It wasn't overly doughy and the sauce was delicious! Chef Andrew described the dish and he told us that the shrimp was locally sourced from Dune Brothers. The second course was noodles with tomato and pepper dashi and grilled fish. The noodles were fresh, but it started to get a little clumpy. The dashi was really flavorful. The third course was miso tres leches cake with sakura whipped cream. This course I was the most excited about and it totally blew my expectations. Chef Andrew told us that they hand picked sakura petals and made their own whipped cream. The tres leches cake was moist, dense, and airy. The dessert was definitely the star of the show. Bravo to chefs Andrew McQuesten and Stephen Sternkopf for a wonderful locally sourced meal. Jean-Marc and the other bartender were also very friendly and accommodating. They checked on all the customers throughout the night and made yummy drinks. I had the Toasted Venture. This is one of the signature cocktails and has Toasted Pumpkin Seed-Infused Misguided Spirits Red Sky Silver Rum/Cynar/St. George Spiced Pear Liqueur/Rosemary Elixir/Mole Bitters. It was very good. It's best for small groups (no more than 4-5). I love the customer service here: our server explained the alcohol as we got each of our cocktails. I will admit, though, because I'm slightly hard of hearing, I missed a lot of the explanations, but that's ok. I came in a group of four and we all took sips of each other's drinks and that was really fun! Every drink was great, but I do favor my sake drink, white port/cream soda cocktail, the vermouth, and the one with the amaretto. Don't expect the menus to be the same as in this review! They do change it frequently and have non-alcoholic mocktails, too. We heard about this place from coworkers and that they had won an award for best new bar--an award that's well-deserved.

From our arrival, the hospitality was top tier. Warm, welcoming, unrushed. The space itself is cozy and intimate, with this beautifully curated burnt-orange vibe that feels a like a 1930s-40s Cuban lounge. Even the staff subtly matched the aesthetic and color scheme. You can tell a ton of thought went into every detail of this place. Every cocktail we tried was creative, balanced, and thoughtfully composed. Presentation was beautiful without being gimmicky. One of the hosts/servers took the time to explain each drink. We also tried the flan. It was silky, perfectly set, just sweet enough: 10/10. Once there, we learned that Loma's Latino-owned, and that heritage is subtly celebrated throughout--from their curated Salsa playlist on the high def sound system to their inclusion of Latin American flavors and ingredients in their menu. Oh and one of the details we loved most: there's no big wall of liquor bottles on display like you see in most places. They keep only a few featured spirits visible and tuck everything else away, which gives the whole space a more intimate, upscale, almost homey feel. In short: impeccable vibes, genuinely warm hospitality, gorgeous space, incredible drinks, and thoughtful details everywhere. Loma is exactly the kind of bar you hope to stumble upon when traveling--and the kind that makes you wish you lived closer. A must-visit. We'd come back in a heartbeat.
