Hibiscus Flower Tea with boba and no sugar.

This review is for the Arcadia location which apparently doesn't have a Yelp. I went to the location in Arcadia on a whim while waiting for food to cook in the food court nearby. I ordered the Hibiscus Flower Tea with boba and no sugar. It was divine! I highly recommend getting this flavor or if you're ever in Arcadia, hitting that one up

a cup of green tea with a straw

I'm usually disappointed by bubble tea places because the tea is never strong enough for the pricey cost. But an offer brought me here, so I tried it. Ordered a large bubble tea and requested it to be stronger and less sweet. The bubbles were just right in texture and flavor. The tea was strong and less sweet like I wanted. I would come back.

They definitely improved their customer service here. In fact, they're starting to recognize my partner and I that occasionally stop by there at least once every month. I can tell they remember our order! They've definitely improved since the last time we experienced their service. One thing I wish they had was consistent hours of operation. The only reason why this place is visited once a month is because it's such a gamble making the drive here for it to be closed; which in return forces us to go to a different bubble tea place and thus, waste gas and time.

The store is filled with aromatic tea. They sell tea bags, loose leaf tea, tea sets, strainers, etc. They also sell bubble tea here. I enjoy the bubble tea at Ten Ren Tea Time in NY. So when my friends from MD suggested we grab some bubble tea at Ten Ren Tea Ginseng Co, I was definitely curious as to how their bubble tea would compare to my usual NY spot. I ordered the Lychee Green Tea. The boba had a nice consistency. The tea was very refreshing. I haven't tried any of the other flavors offered here. However, the Lychee Green Tea tastes EXACTLY like the one I always get at Ten Ren Tea Time in NY. If you are looking for a nice gift for someone who enjoys tea or in the mood for a refreshing drink, definitely pay Ten Ren Tea Ginseng Co a visit.

    Taro milkshake with boba.

Wow. This place has a very extensive selection of teas. Me like. If you're a tea lover, I'm sure you'd be in heaven here. At different price points, I'm sure you can find something that you'd like. But alas, I came here for the bubble tea. I like how they offer a variety of drinks to choose from (bubble tea, milkshakes, smooties, etc.). I decided to take a chance and get a large taro milkshake ($5). I opted to add boba instead of the aloe. I've never ordered a boba milkshake before, so I thought I'd give it a try. For some reason I was expecting a thicker drink that actually resembled a milkshake. What I got was similar in consistancy to your usualy bubble tea, just with milk instead of the tea. It was good, but somewhat watered down and the taro flavor didn't through as much. The tapioca balls were cooked nicely. Not too mushy or hard. I liked my drink, but not sure if I'd get it again. Many people after me ordered the honeydew milkshake, so I'll probably give that try next time. Staff was friendly, although interaction was very minimal. $5 minimum is using your credit card (no Amex accepted here...boo!).

Cool tea store. Friendly service. Prices beat the chain tea store found in the mall. An assortment of tea leaves and tea bags are available. Just ask if you are not sure what to get. They are ready to assist you. Bubble tea is also served here. Menu is digitally displayed on a flatscreen.

I have never written a review of an establishment before even though I have had some negative business experiences none have motivated me to download yelp to warn other future customers like this. I ordered a starfruit bubble tea today and tasted it and it tasted nothing like the taste of starfruit. I am never a picky person and would be happy to drink a flavor I'm not fond of if I ordered it but this was absolutely undrinkable. I took it back in and asked if they could change it or if it was perhaps incorrectly made maybe the wrong flavor since it tasted more similar to their "smoked plum" flavor than starfruit. They told me I would know if it was smoked plum because it should taste almost like BBQ- why someone would want a BBQ tasting bubble tea I have no idea- and that starfruit should taste like a salty plum (i have tried starfruit itself several times and it does not). A woman across the shop (not the one who made the drink) proceeded to yell at me across other customers as I was speaking to the other women. I stepped back and waited for all the customers to be served and leave before reproaching the situation so that she didn't make a scene to others. I asked if it was possible to switch the flavor or be refunded and purchase another since I wasn't able to drink it. She told me no one would do that with a raised voice yelling at me even though I was right in front of her speaking calmly and softly. I had to ask her to stop yelling say that I was not and to please stop berating me. It was a horrible horrible experience I have no comparison to. She ended up adding black tea to the top and it was less strong but the same flavor. I hope no one else has to experience this!! I still had to end up throwing out the great majority of it after trying to force myself to get my money's worth by sipping a few times but just ended up feeling a bit nauseous and couldn't.

I really wanted to love this place. I'd researched it online and was excited to try it. I should note that I'm not a boba tea drinker, though that sounds like their specialty - I was just interested in traditional teas, with nothing added. One high point I will note was that they had very cool, elaborate teaware, worthy of a museum. It was fun just to be able to wander the shop and look at all the ornate, intricate kettles and cups. There was also a tea room at the back with lacquered chairs (see pictures). Although it wasn't available to use, it was a nice added touch. With that said, though, I was disappointed by the tea itself. Some previous reviewers have noted that there are some communication challenges due to the language barrier, and I would agree with that. The sales people were friendly and helpful, but we had a bit of difficulty sharing information. I ordered a straight green tea, and they asked me repeatedly about adding various sweeteners like honey or sugar. I did specify each time that I wanted plain green tea. When I got it, it was really hot, which surprised me, since green tea is usually prepared with water just below boiling temperature. After waiting for it to cool, I had a couple of sips, and it tasted really strange, definitely unlike any green tea I'd had before. I tried to drink it, but couldn't and ended up pouring it out, which I've never done with tea before. We had also purchased some loose leaf tea separately to try at home, but alas, it was no better. I noticed there were a lot of stems and the tea seemed a bit weak, in addition to the flavor seeming off. Perhaps this is because they usually serve boba tea, so the flavor of the tea itself usually gets drowned out in a medley of sugar and other ingredients. It's with regret that I write this, because I was excited about the potential this place seemed to have; alas, at least for my interest in basic tea, it was a miss.

    A (large) taro bubble tea!

Tables not cleaned and most uneven and wonky. Just one sad front of house employee working that I saw just getting through the orders that are self order. This place has zero ambiance. I went to the bathroom and toilet tissue was nearly out and there was no way to even get anyone's attention to attend to that. Employee just kept their head down working. Food- drinks were great. My favorite is the watermelon coconut jelly. We had the pork chop pineapple bun. This is still a good sandwich. Tastes like they used to make it. Juicy pork chop, sweet pineapple bun. The construction of the sandwich leaves much to be desired because all the wet veggie ingredients slide the entire sandwich. Once you start eating, you should not put this sandwich down or it will come apart. They should put the sandwich in a sleeve. We ordered the fried chicken bento box. This bento has changed a bit from their previous version. With the new paper packaging, there are less compartments for goodies. The fried chicken recipe is different as all the batter fell off the chicken and was just a mess. There was close to zero pickles greens. With the dish which I feel brings this kind of bento together. Conclusion is food is decent, ambiance sucks. Would order to go from here but any fried food from here will be a disaster after you get it home. Had high hopes as I loved the previous location's food. Now being able to "look behind the curtain" and see how everything is made, I kind of feel question the cleanliness of this place.

The place is clean and smells great from the waffles I think. Not too many milk tea options but the boba and drinks are good so I'll let it slide. My wife ordered a taro milk tea with a cheese foam cap and I went with a Vietnamese iced coffee with an ube cream topping. Both of our drinks were well prepared and had a ton of flavor. My wife liked that you can choose what kind of tea (black, green, or Oolong) for the taro drink, and we both found the cheese foam to be perfectly creamy and savory. Similarly, my strong iced coffee was prepared according to my taste with 0% sugar, and the cream topping had a discernible ube flavor without excessive sweetness. We both opted for grass jelly mixed into our potables and appreciated the soft, slurpable texture which indicated freshness. Our drinks averaged around $8 per, which is pretty standard. The interior of Ding was clean and bright, certainly pleasant enough in which to pass some time. We are glad we tried this place and can easily foresee returning when in the area.
