Asked me to pay a $100+ bill on the way out but was told on previous visit (by Lilly) there was no additional charge. I have since received a non-itemized bill in the mail & need to clarify. Also, what's with the v. short chairs in the waiting area no arms. It woud be impossible for me and many adults to rise from them so I have to stand & wait when I get there. They have far too many interns, and sometimes they let the interns practice on patients' teeth. One of the interns filed too much off the surface of my two front teeth, leaving them flat and damaged. I complained to the clinic and to my doctor, Anya, but she dismissed my concerns. Here are additional issues I experienced with AP Dental in East Boston: 1. During my Invisalign treatment, they initially gave me a few sets of Invisalign trays. You're supposed to change trays every 1 to 2 weeks. After about 3-4 months, they told me my Invisalign treatment was complete. However, my teeth were still not aligned. I had to push them to continue because I knew my teeth weren't properly aligned. I had braces about 10 years ago, so I am very familiar with the correct position of my teeth. This clearly shows that they don't know what they're doing. 2. During my Invisalign consultation at AP Dental, the front desk staff informed me that the treatment came with a free teeth-whitening package valued at over $300. However, at the end of my treatment, I was given only three small whitening tubes, which cost about $15 each online and are also sold at AP Dental for the same price. This was clearly a case of false advertising. Overall, I would not recommend getting Invisalign at this location. Achieving good, healthy teeth is a serious matter, especially when it involves procedures like filing teeth to align them properly. AP Dental specializes in dental hygiene and clearly lacks experience with Invisalign. It seems like easy money for them, but for patients, the results are what truly matter. If I could go back in time, I would pay a little more to get my Invisalign treatment at an orthodontic office rather than a general dental hygiene office. One small mistake can permanently damage your teeth.

I had a filling done this morning and I guarantee it was the most "care" a dentist has ever given a filling of mine. He made sure it was PERFECT before I left his chair. It's really nice to have a health care professional take time to spend with you to ensure you're getting the best possible care. His office is difficult to deal with administratively (at best). Technologically, they're stuck in the 1980's, both in dental equipment and office equipment. His hours are limited, even more so in the summer. And I always walk away from a session with the dental hygienist feeling like my mouth has gone five rounds with Mike Tyson, and with the same condescending, rote lecture about flossing more, every. single. time. When I left I asked for my dental records to show to my new dentist. They emailed them three days later, which was fine, except I asked for them to post my x-rays to me as well and it's been five weeks of me emailing every week and *not once* have they bothered to even respond, let alone post the x-rays. I paid for those x-rays. But no f*cks have been given, as far as I can tell. Probably for the best. My new dentist has uncovered multiple cavities that Dr. Depremio's office completely overlooked, as well as replaced my one silver filling, which was roughly three decades old and should apparently have been replaced after the first decade. Something pretty damn obvious to a competent and engaged dentist - you would think.

This was the worst visit I've had to any doctor in my life and I literally left in tears. After a slew of X-rays and scans, the Dr. came in with 0 introduction, looked at my teeth for 5 mins and proceeded to tell me I had a plethora of issues (which I've never had before). She told me I had "a handful" of cavities.. what doctor describes anything to a patient as "a handful" and doesn't give specifics? She also said I needed two crowns and had gum issues. I have never had issues like this before in my life so for someone to pop in for five mins with no further explanation and then leave was upsetting. The hygienist then told me that I needed a "deep cleaning" which would require two visits and for them to numb each side of my mouth. They actually refused to give me a regular cleaning. A front desk person came into the room with a packet of info about the cleaning and sat there and stared as she told me to sign - super awkward and made it uncomfortable to read through the info/costs. Finally after TWO HOURS I left with only HALF my mouth numbed and cleaned. I had to then come back at a later date for the second half of the cleaning. During both visits I asked for receipts to be emailed to me - I didn't get it either time. I followed up afterward and got one of the two receipts. I also had to email them five times to get copies of my X-rays. Oddly no one EVER followed up about making an appt for the so called cavities or crowns. If I had such issues, wouldn't it be imperative that I make an appt right away? The front desk only insisted that I make an appt in three months for my next deep cleaning. When I told her I'd check my a schedule and get back to her she said "no, let's make one now to get it on the schedule". I said no thanks and left. They are unbelievably persistent about scheduling in advance and will continue to hound you via calls, texts, and emails. Take a look at the other Citidental Boston location Yelp reviews where people have had very similar experiences to mine. Avoid this place at all costs. I have since gone to other dentists who confirmed the so-called work CITIDental suggested that I needed was unnecessary.

I can't say definitely they were taking advantage of me not being a dentist and charging me for unnecessary things, but it feels that way. The day that I had my appointment, the offices compressors were not working, which seemed odd at first that they would not call ahead to let me know. I was told that I could not get a cleaning that day due to this. I understand these situations can be stressful, so I kept a good attitude and accepted the care that they could provide (x-rays and exam). The hygienist that I had was so lovely, she was super comforting and bubbly. After taking my x-rays, she informed me that there were some spots that I had to watch out for, at the beginnings of a cavity. She told me that I did not need fillings at the moment. Those all went out the window after the doctor came in (cannot even remember her name because she didn't even introduce herself). Long story short, I was told that I need fillings immediately. I have heard from many others that this office is "drill happy", which seemedto be the case here. I still was in a fine mood, treating them kindly even though they could not provide all the services scheduled. Come to find out, this office has charged my insurance for a cleaning when I never received one, couldn't have even been possible to receive one since their compressors were done. I never would have thought to check this, but the new dental office I am going to flagged it and let me know. I asked this building to retract this claim (still have not done so). I also got attitude over the phone when I asked them to retract this claim. It felt very yucky.
