Visited Tender Greens for the first time after 5 or 6 years. It was my first visit to this location. Previously have been to the one in Irvine. I ordered the Steak plate with side of brown rice and caesar salad. My colleague got the steak with the side of baby greens and baby spinach. The Steak plate is around $16 which is of course a good value these days. The server recommended medium rare, which is also how I usually order my meats. I was very disappointed as the steak was a bit tough and chewy and my colleague who had ordered it the same way was complaning as well. The side of the brown rice had a nice kick to it and I really enjoyed it. the plate is also accompanied by a pieace of garlic toast which was enjoyable. I placed a to go order a few months ago and when I got home, I realized that tender greens forgot to give me my soup that I ordered. I had to drive back to get my soup. I picked up another to go order today and when I got home, the bread was missing from my order! Tender greens should double check each order before giving it to customers! As many of the other reviews have stated, this location has severely declined. Aside from the constant menu changes this location is incapable of serving a hot meal or cooking protein properly. I love this restaurant. It is what I call upscale fast food. Everything is so fresh and healthy. The service is always prompt and polite and their food comes out quickly. They offer sandwiches, full plates, and salads with vegan options. I love fish and they have wonderful options of Trout, Salmon, Selva Shrimp and Tuna. They also have chicken and steak options for your protein. I love that they have a tasty selection of greens and vegetables, if you don't want starches,. My visit today had a bit of a problem. I ordered the trout. Unfortunately it tasted a bit strong and fishy. I took it back to the order desk and explained my problem. Not willing to take the chance on the trout again I asked for a replacement with salmon instead. The young lady at the counter didn't hesitate to take care of my needs and replace my meal. She was gracious and smiling the entire time. My friend and I both had the Salmon plate, They were perfectly seared, delicious, moist, tender and flavorful. They have an upscale cafeteria design. I have tasted all them and I would recommend all of them except for their falafel (vegetarian might love this though). As for the drinks, I think their Agua Fresca is great but can be a little to sweet for my taste. ****Beware*** just had lunch here and found a sharp piece of glass in my food. I approached one of the folks who worked there and showed them the glass which he took and showed it to his manager. The response I got was, " We will make you another bowl". Ummm, sure but aren't you concerned how it got there and Iucky for me I didn't eat it???? How do you know there isn't glass in other peoples food. If I was the owner, I would be very concerned but it seemed to be a non event here. This SPECIFIC location = trash I call in my food, I wait the 20 minutes, I arrive to pick up my food, I pay. I am THEN told they have run out of steak (@6:20 on a Monday of a holiday weekend). They tell me they'll refund it back to my card then ask what to swap to. They then charge me full price (no drink/dessert offered or meal comp). The customer service was the worst part. My meal, which should have been rushed, I watched them straight up ignore the ticket for so long that the cashier said something. The chicken is so dried out. The food is lukewarm and I know it had been sitting around forever. Any time after 8pm you pretty much get the vibe from some staff that they don't want you to order or even be there. The first time I ever had Tender Greens was at the Culver City location -- I had ordered a salad during high traffic lunch hours on a weekday. I wasn't that impressed -- it was good, but not memorable to the point where I had to go back, plus it was pricey. In the recent month, I've gone back based on a co-worker/friend recommendation to the El Segundo location where I ordered a really healthy and delicious meal -- seared tuna with baby arugula, brown sprouted rice and a slice of toasted bread. Since then, I've gone back a second time as a repeat offender and ordered the same dish because it was that good! I felt like the price for what I ordered was justified and it left me feeling good on the inside. This location has indoor and outdoor seating -- I prefer outside. I feel like they could utilize more of their interior by adding in more seating in the center since there is so much open space. Their to-go containers appear to be one-size? If someone has partial leftovers they still give you a pretty huge plastic container. Too bad they don't provide smaller ones. read more

Came to the El Segundo with my family on Saturday for lunch and the food was amazing. Most of us ordered the salmon plate with veggies which was all seasoned perfect. My son had the chicken pesto sandwich with a side of mac and cheese and he loved it. All of the staff was really friendly and attentive to our table throughout our entire visit. My wife had the salmon salad which you cant find anywhere else for that price and quality of ingredients. The overall ambiance was great with some great tunes playing while we ate. This was the 3rd time I ordered an almost $20 Salmon bowl to get an almost raw salmon filet. I chalked the first 2 up to flukes but now I've spent $60 in food that I personally couldn't eat. When I ordered the Caesar salad with caramelized steak he went to scoop up some grey meat that was cut into cubes. I asked for the steak . He told me that was steak. I asked why doesn't it have caramelization on it. He said oh that's only for advertisement. My jaw dropped. I said that's false advertising if your steak looks nothing like the photo. Ordered food from here with my office for lunch. For a place called tender greens I was so surprised there wasn't one vegetarian/vegan salad available! There was the vegan bowl but I was craving more veggies. I wasn't even able to modify to remove the meat from any salad from their online ordering. Anyway, I was starving. The panko eggplant caught my interest (even with no photo online!) so I took a chance and ordered it. It was a classic eggplant filet (think eggplant Parmesan without the sauce) but sooo good. Thick and the panko had a good flavor. The seasonal roasted veggies were also so great, I wish I ordered an extra side of those.
