Slater's 50/50 has a prime location right next to a large parking lot not far from the Liberty Public Market. It's a nice modern sports bar with indoor and outdoor seating. The food is mainly decadent burgers and hot sandwiches. I wasn't hungry but tried a milkshake and it was excellent: nice and thick with your choice of ingredients. They come topped with whipped cream and they give you a nice thick boba straw so no problems drinking it through a straw.

My fiance and I came here on a Friday night and it was EMPTY! (Surprisingly!) I thought it would be packed! We were seated immediately and the waitress took our orders quick! The food came out quick as well! THE VAMPIRE DIP was AMAZING! The pita chips were super crispy and I don't know what more to say but it was amazing, but if you're lactose intolerant, maybe stay away cause it has a lot of dairy. The Caesar salad was yummy as well! A little salty, but it was good and actually very filling! You can add chicken if you'd like but I didn't. Lastly, my fiancé said the smashburger was good, but wished that it was there was more flavor.

Came here because a friend was craving burgers and they had lots of seafood and turkey based options (our friends eat red meat, we don't) on the online menu. Screen shots attached. We're absolutely pissed and trapped when we found they don't have turkey or seafood (recent change to the menu). And we were picking up the food to take to our friend who was recovering from surgery. This was a truly disappointing experience. The only saving grace and reason this isn't lower is the chicken sandwich we ended up opting for was decent. And the hostess who helped us was at least apologetic. Regardless, this is the first and last time we come to Slater's.

03/02/25 - Sunday We came here for a birthday celebration. Nice location because it has a big parking lot close by. We were sat outside in the patio and there were around 14 of us. It was nice weather, but it sprinkled a little bit, but it wasn't that bad. They had a light cover, but I don't know that it would've helped if it rained harder. The only thing that kinda got to me was the sound of all the planes that kept going. It gets pretty loud. Clearly, I am getting old. lol Jojo was our server. Very friendly and she was Filipino, so she was cool right off the bat. She took our orders and made sure to keep checking on us. Great server. I finally ordered the PB&J burger, and it was the best decision I ever made. The sweet, savory and richness of everything was perfectly done. It was not crazy sweet, the peanut butter made it very rich, and the burger patty was seasoned very well. This is one of my favorite burgers now and I am glad I finally tried it. I was also able to try their chicken wings, and it was very saucy and delicious. It was a good time had with my family. Highly recommend this spot.

Stopped by this burger place on a weekday and it was pretty empty, so I figured service would be quick. Boy, I was wrong. When the food finally came out, the burger was honestly laughable for the price... tiny and underwhelming. I've had bigger, better burgers at fast food joints for way less money. The only plus is that it's a good spot to watch the game since there are TVs playing sports everywhere. Other than that, I wouldn't come back just for the food.

My friends and I came here for dinner because we heard they had the best burgers in town. My friend had called ahead to ask if they could accommodate my food allergies. They said that they could and off we went. The place had an awesome vibe. I had written down all of my food allergies for the chef to look at. You can never be too careful. They were able to make a cheeseburger in a lettuce wrap with a side of fruit. I have never enjoyed a burger so much. To drink I had a Strawberry Haze with vodka instead of gin. It was so good. Our waitress was phenomenal! If in San Diego, I highly recommend!

    Chicken n waffles to go

Came at the tail end of brunch because this was the closest spot from the park where the dog event was today. And chicken and waffles is at the top of the list? No bother hostess that's what I'm getting. Only thirteen bucks too. Idk where chicken n waffles originated, here or the South, but it seems like California can only get the waffle half right after I tried it in Florida. The chicken batter is super crispy bordering on burnt and the chicken was dry. It's alright but not the best. The waffle more than saved the day though, it has sugar granules in it that crunch and it was just awesome. They put bacon and an egg on top too. This should've been the remainder of what I ate for the day but it wasn't. I did eat it all in one sitting though. Service was kinda awkward since I came with my dogs, then returned them to my car cuz they were off the wall, then came back for takeout, and spent the rest of the time in my car with my dogs. While all the outdoor patrons who also had dogs barking just sat and stared like their dogs weren't doing the same crap. I wouldn't go back for that reason. Might've just been today cuz of the event.

Came here on a Monday with a party of 4 for dinner. Plenty of parking in the lot outside. We were told it would be a 15min wait or we could sit right away at the bar. The restaurant was not very full but we figured it was the holidays and they probably were short staffed. We ended up choosing the bar seating as we wanted to also watch a game. We ordered a few appetizers: the frickles, Mac & cheese balls, Korean bbq wings and vampire dip. Everything came out in a timely manner. All the fried foods were just alright. I did like the dipping sauces though. The wings were decent and the vampire dip was definitely the best part. I haven't been to Slater's in probably over a decade and the vampire dip is the only thing I remember from it. We ended up also ordering the original 50/50 burger. It was savory and very tasty. Though also pretty heavy. With all the appetizers, we split the burger four ways and that was more than enough for me. I ordered a holiday cocktail called the Bugs Bunny. It was good but nothing too crazy to note. The bartender/waiter that took care of us was very friendly and helpful. Even though they were short staffed that night, she was attentive and never forgot anything. We also really appreciated that she was able to turn the volume on the tv so we could hear the game. Overall, I had a good experience here. The staff were very nice but the food was just okay. I would really only come back for the vampire dip.

Calling all vampires (and foodies)! Get ready to sink your teeth into Slater's 50/50 Vampire Dip--a mouthwatering blend of roasted garlic, artichoke hearts, and creamy melted cheese served TABLESIDE . It's so good, it's scary! Whether you pour it over burgers, drizzle it on fries, or smother it on any dish you crave, this dip will elevate your meal to fang-tastic levels! The vibes here are perfect to kick back and watch your favorite sports games on the TVS that surround the place. The burgers here are seriously delicious the best in town!!!!!! If you're into poke... also highly recommended!

Vampire Dip on top of my french fries. Also tried the Smashburger.

Going during October, you have the possible opportunity to have vampire dip, fondue table side. Lucky me I got to try some.! This was very exciting although we had to wait a very long time for our order. The service was good and the staff were very helpful. The drinks were sweet, but strong. I tried their Smashburger, and it was actually very tasty. The french fries were very well seasoned and nice and crispy. The sweet potato fries are very delicious and they are currently coming with a pumpkin dip sauce, which is next level !! And you can't go wrong with the fried pickles, the honey mustard dipping sauce that comes with it is absolutely delicious. They have outside and inside dining areas, and there's plenty of parking. I would recommend eating inside during the fall and winter as it gets a little chilly at liberty station point Loma at night. There's also a giant golden hamburger you can take a picture with at the entrance !

Vampire dip was great and creamy! The cheeseburger paired w the seasoned fries, and chicken&waffles was good--but no egg being served due to bird flu, so they ask which substitution you would prefer! The decor was cute and the vibe was casual for either brunch or just drinks and a bite. The total was 60$ before tip for everything: mimosa was only 1$ w entree for weekend deal! Overall good service, would go back again.

    Rebecca C.

Come here for the burgers, and to watch the game. There is a weekend brunch menu that offers special deals such as $1 mimosas and $7 bloody Mary's! However, the brunch vibes/aesthetic isn't really there. The indoor seating isn't the most comfy, and it's truly a good spot to catch the game on tv and enjoy a burger. Burgers 5/5, though a bit pricy. The burgers come with fries but you can upgrade for sweet potato fries or salad. The hi-brow burger was tasty, had a good balance of sauces and arugula, and a natural burger patty. The siracha burger was not cooked to a temperature because it had bacon mixed into the patty but it was tasty and had a good spice!

We wound up at Slater's 50/50 restaurant because we are going to a yacht Rock festival in San Diego tonight! Otherwise we would have never discovered it !! What amazing synchronicity,!! There are large screen TVs with college football all over them. The food is exceptional, Ryan. Our server is amazing! Right now on Saturday they have dollar mimosas for 1 hour with food purchase! Talk about a deal! Great music. Great vibes! 10 out of 10 it's worth the drive to Liberty station in San Diego if you're close! Tater tots to boot also btw

Great recommendations, super genuine and fun, had the best energy and was CONSTANTLY checking in on us; however, a couple of the other workers could have been a little bit more open with communication. We were sitting against the window at the high top wraparound bar tables (feels like an extension of the bar), so the bar is easy to order from and was our go to as soon as we arrived. The bartender took our order, but was standoffish as if we were doing something foreign or a big "no no". Finally the server in charge of our area told us that the bartenders are in charge of the bar and there are other servers for all the other tables/zones. One drink had a girl feeling tipsy. We ordered from the late-night "midnight Bites" menu, which was the only thing we could choose from at the hour of our visit. Everything we selected was really good. Wed got the Frito Pie ($12), Chicken thigh tenders ($7), and Tots ($7). The frito pie presentation was my second favorite part (after the bear glass drink), It came in a all-clad style bowl with the chip bag cut open inside, loaded with Texas-style chilli, melted nacho cheese, and shredded cheese. It was so good I even started adding tots in there too. The tots and Thigh tenders had the perfect crisp! They have sweet and sour chili sauce for dipping with the chicken which was fab! The retro decor made the place even better. I loved seeing the old Blockbuster VHS tapes and music cassettes displayed around the bar. My little eye also spot the Dallas Cowboys flag! Texas energy is definitely in the house. There's also a small arcade area in the back, and my eyes instantly lit up seeing PAC-Man. We didn't get to fully explore the game room because we were trying to make it to Ghirardelli Ice cream & Chocolate shop for dessert before they closed at midnight too. Thankfully everything worked out perfectly since our car was parked right in front of Ghirardelli. NO military discount was honored here even though the owner is a veteran, but overall I still had a really good experience and would definitely come back whenever I'm in the Gaslamp district in SD, Cali. Over the years, my wife, her girlfriend, and I have become frequent travelers to this culinary haven, beaming back for nearly 15 years--a testament to its enduring allure. The selection of IPAs and mixed drinks is impressive, catering to even the most discerning palates in the galaxy. The choices are vast enough to satisfy anyone embarking on this flavor exploration, whether you prefer a refreshing drink to toast a successful mission or something bolder, like a phaser on stun! The menu features a delightful array of options, including fresh salads, tantalizing finger foods, and, of course, their famed burgers. My wife's enthusiasm for the offerings has always been infectious, and during this visit, she and her girlfriend were on a culinary adventure of their own, indulging in the flavors that have made Nicky Rottens a local favorite. The burgers are truly out of this world--juicy, flavorful, and expertly crafted to ensure a warp-speed experience with every bite. You'll find that each dish is prepared with precision, as if overseen by a skilled chef with the abilities of a Vulcan and the passion of a true culinary Starfleet officer. In conclusion, Nicky Rottens is a prime destination for anyone seeking a vibrant atmosphere, stunning views, and a solid meal. I can confidently say that if you ever find yourself in Coronado, this establishment is a must-visit. After all, it's just one small step for man, and one giant leap into deliciousness! Got a paloma and the flavor was more intense than I expected, but it was pretty good…read more Tater tots are nice and crispy, great texture. Aside from that, they're generic normal tasting tater tots. For the burger, I liked the bun and other ingredients, but thought the savoriness of the meat was just okay. Also, can't say I'm a huge fan of the tiny lettuce whenever I see it. Overall, this joint is not bad, but I can think of very little about it that stands out. I don't feel that it fully leans into being a sports bar or dive bar or even as a burger joint. It's just.....a bar. Apparently, it prides itself as being an original coronado spot, but I didn't get that kinda vibe here. I don't know.
