The Beef Red Curry was rich and aromatic with a luscious coconut milk base. The red curry paste had great depth. There was layers of lemongrass, galangal, and spices. The beef was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the bamboo shoots, bell peppers, and Thai basil were fresh and plentiful. I loved how it had a nice kick that built up without overpowering the dish. The Chicken Satay came out perfectly grilled with beautiful char marks. The chicken was juicy and marinated well, and the peanut sauce on the side was creamy, nutty, and addictive. Finally, the Basil Chicken delivered that classic Thai street-food flavor. Plenty of fragrant holy basil, lots of garlic, and just the right amount of chili heat. The chicken was tender with great texture, and it paired amazingly with jasmine rice. Everything arrived hot, fresh, and beautifully presented. We ordered the Khao Soi Noodle Soup which was a curry based soup. In the order you have a choice of protein and noodle type. We got chicken and egg noodles. I did like how the chilis and noodles were separated from the soup so the noodles weren't saturated and you can control the spice level. We also got Pad woon sen and the crab fried rice. The pad woon sen had a good ratio of chicken, veggies and noodles. Our favorite though was the crab fried rice. It was nice and fluffy, lots of fresh crab meat and very tasty. I would definitely order the fried rice again. Next time maybe I'll try dining in as their interior look nicely decorated.

When I ordered cold sake, the waitress informed me they only had hot sake. Then she told me she will bring hot sake and I can put ice cubes in it, quite rudely. It seems she misunderstood my wife and pointed a finger at my wife and said, " I don't give a shit if you don't come here again". She walked away. Then the chef came out to ask us what the problem was. We told him we had no issues with the food was very good and we weren't sure why the Waitress was upset. Probably she misunderstood English or had a hearing problem. When the main course was brought to the table, our friend asked that another Waitress, who brought the food as to what she was putting in front of her. The second Waitress was not polite either. She brought a soya bean made dish. My friend had ordered a chicken dish. This Waitress took back the plate and she realized that she had brought the wrong order of another customer. Instead of apologizing, she just went to bring the chicken dish. Our evening was ruined by bad service and bad behavior of the staff. The chef came out of the kitchen and he told us that it's OK with him if we don't come back to his restaurant again. We were all stunned at what we were hearing. All six of us are of Indian origin. This was a classic case of racial discrimination. We would never visit Hug Thai if it was the last Restaurant on this planet, even if the food was free!!

The cauliflower used to be crispy and well glazed, but on this visit it was mushy and unappetizing. We asked our server if they had a new chef, he said same chief for 15 years and the new owners are back. Well have new owners tasted the food? There's no way the Chef was back. Perhaps that was a lie. Overall, the food did not taste as fresh or well-prepared as I remembered. It also felt as though the restaurant has made several changes that have taken away from the overall dining experience. They previously offered a complimentary appetizer, whereas now everything is à la carte. Even the napkins felt unnecessarily limited--we were initially given only one and had to ask for additional napkins. The restaurant also used to have tablecloths with glass over the table, which gave the dining area a more polished, welcoming, and comfortable appearance. The bathroom was acceptable, but it could have been cleaner and better maintained. I'm sharing this feedback because I have visited this restaurant before and remember having a much better experience. The food, presentation, and overall atmosphere used to feel more inviting and higher quality. Unfortunately, this visit left me feeling that the overall quality has declined and that cost-cutting measures may be affecting the customer experience. I hope the restaurant takes this feedback constructively, because I would genuinely like to see the quality return to what it used to be. As things currently stand, however, I would reconsider returning.

There is a very unique display of Lego set up there (see pix) and it seems the owners son made it at 6 or 7 years old. A sign request it not to be touched. The food was average and the chicken on the stick still did not seem to be cooked quite enough. Also I noted inside, christmas items, a humidifier and that the place could use a good cleaning.

What I want people to know is of my experience, especially after dealing with these owners after all this time and never having an issue. To be treated so disrespectfully, we will not frequent this place again. We've been loyal customers of this Chinese eatery for close to 30 years, ordering four or five times a month. Sadly, we won't be back. While the food is good, the service has become unacceptable. Our last several deliveries arrived long after the promised window and were lukewarm or cold. When I placed my most recent order, I declined to leave a tip over the phone. Personal experience has taught me that tips are for service that meets or exceeds expectations, which hasn't happened lately. When the food arrived an hour later--far past the 40-minute quote--and cold again, the driver verbally confronted my husband. (This was after confronting me on the phone). The driver, who happens to be one of the owners, demanded to know why we didn't tip. He said it wasn't fair that he had to deliver the food for nothing. He ignored my husband's explanation and started yelling in our driveway. The situation escalated to the point where the driver began walking back toward our door to continue the argument. He only stopped and left because his phone rang. It's disappointing to be treated with such disrespect after decades of patronage. This business offers free delivery, yet the owner acts entitled to a tip regardless of his performance. Having worked in service myself, I know that if you don't receive a tip, you look at how to improve your work. You don't harass the customer. We've decided to take our business elsewhere.
