I have been in this restaurant for so long, even since in their previous location which locates across the new location, their food was excellent, fresh and big portion, service was great, I don't live close by, but I would keep going back there just because of the quality of the food. But recent year, especially since last year, I realized they decrease the size of the food, especially the sashimi. I had been there again at the beginning of the new year, and now they decrease the amount of the food, for example, I always order the sashimi deluxe and every kind of sashimi comes with 3 pieces, now they come with 2 little pieces. And most importantly, the fish is not taste that fresh as before. I went with my husband last time and was celebrating his birthday but we were very disappointed. Their dishes and rolls don't stand out but I love the quality and the freshness of their sushi and sashimi. It's not easy to find Japanese restaurants that offer fresh sushi in the Brooklyn area! I just wished they would improve on their customer service. I've been there several times with my friends and we always get the party room for more privacy but the waitresses were always constantly bothering us. They were always rushing us like they couldn't wait for us to leave (there was never another party waiting for the room). I decided to take out instead of eating in their restaurant because of their horrible customer service but the person who takes orders over the phone isn't much better. I came here on a cold Saturday after looking for parking for about 30 minutes. As soon as we walked in, we were not greeted or even acknowledged for 5-10 minutes. As soon as a lady finally came to the front, she asked how many. She had he audacity to go around the tables where people were dining and rushing them. How rude can you be! The food was ok. It's a bit pricier than the sushi bar in Brooklyn. More importantly, they rush you to order. When I sat down for 2 mins looking at the menu, the waitress came and wanted us to order even they didn't give us tea yet. We said we need a moment. I've been coming here for a long time. The sushi is the best. The most freshest fish, always. The only reason that makes me go to other places is because they do not have brown rice sushi. They would make more money and appeal to more people if they started making sushi with brown rice. Nevertheless, it is still certainty on top of my best sushi list. read more

This place is great and the sashimi is always good except for the tuna which im not quite fond of. In addition i recommend the spicy mix which is full of small pieces of sashimi and sesame oil. One thing i dont like about the restaurant which has moved to a new place is that in the men's bathroom the automatic sink is too high and it sprays water everywhere. read more

However I came here today and was kicked out just because I had my dog.. in a dog carriage.. and they were really rude.. saying that it was against the law to have a dog in their restaurant. In addition, they told me to leave my dog in a small corner near the exit. I am like "Are you serious?". It was rude and they were literally kicking us out with mad attitude in front of everyone. I thought the sushi is very good, here. Especially for the price. My only problem is the service. The wait staff never seems eager to serve you. I sat at the bar last time and ordered sushi and the bartender started clipping his fingernails behind the bar while I was eating. Seriously? I know Tenzan isn't fine dining but c'mon, teach your wait staff some manners. If they do that in front of customers, imagine what goes on in the back where no one is looking. Won't eat here again. Their food was pretty good but their customer service wasn't that great. My family and I arrived in the restaurant, with nobody to greet us, not after a good 5 minutes. Later when we got our food, the wait was way longer than other restaurants. The waiter even had to ask us if we got our order yet (not once but twice)! The food here is pretty good. If your on a date definitely try to get one of the private rooms. You have to take your shoes off, sit and relax. You can close the door and not hear all the noise in the restaurant which is nice. Definitely a nice atmosphere when your on a date. Food was good. Green Tea cake is delicious. My first impression of this place was amazing they have incredible bar and variety of drinks the food is not bad accept the rolls I order a few different type of basic rolls (which are crazy expensive comparing to the other sushi places in the neighborhood ) which were so blend and the tuna in my tuna-avocado roll was not the fresher. Than me and my friends try to order champagne but they were out of it so we asked if we could bring your own bottle of champagne and they said sure but you will have to pay the house charge of $20 which was ridiculous because that bottle only cost us about $15 I get that every sushi bar has their house charge if you bring your own alcohol but it's usually not that high and usually the place don't charge you at all if they are out of something. They have to make some changes if they want people to come back to their sushi place since there is so many other sushi places around that neighborhood. read more

This place has the worst service in the world ! So i go in a while ago and i order salmon sushi sake.... and i got my order and i realized there was a red dot in the fish so i pressed it down with my chopstick and blood came out. It didn't bother me but i requested a new salmon. They had brang me a new salmon but i still found those red dots and this time i found two red dots. I requested another one for one last time and then had found 2 more. Yes i know its raw fish but that isn't suppose to happen if you clean it well . So then i complain who i think is the manger in there and he starts yelling at me telling me that if i die to call tenzan and I'm the only one who's ever had that problem and that i was lying when i have picture proof of the blood coming out of the salmon. I am never going back and i recommend everyone look at their fish before they consume it. disgusting service and it is expensive for low quality fish. read more

This place is really getting a lot sloppier!!!!!!!! The food quality is bad!!!! I just ordered a delivery from them today. Not only the food quality is not being controlled and so is their time management. I was told the delivery would be here within 35 minutes max 40 mins. My food finally came after one hour, not only that, I also asked the staff to put it through my charge card. But then the delivery person came to my face and asked me for cash in a very bad manner even though I told her that I asked them to charge on the card. Second of all, when I checked the amount was being charged from them on my credit card, it was incorrect! I felt like I was being charged upon their free will. We were 8 people and they tried cramping us into a tiny cabin that would barely fit 4. *** GET ON GRUBHUB *** This is a good restaurant, sushi is always fresh, nothing too spectactular but a definite safe bet for sushi in this neighborhood. The only problem is, "NO ONLINE ORDERING". Why? Why is it that pretty much every other restaurant in the area is on Grubhub - where I can order in less than 1 minute - but this place takes 10 minutes to take the order, because you have to repeat everything (too much noise in background). No stars for Tenzan. I am here now and my friend ordered the green river special roll. My friend had never had it before and she tried one of the pieces of the roll. It was not for her. She did not like it and had only tried one piece of the roll. She wanted the waiter to send back the roll and replace it with another roll. He straight out refused to accommodate her. He said she would have to pay for the green river special roll, even though she only ate one piece. He said she would have to also pay for an additional roll. I have never heard of such a disgusting policy. I have been to many restaurants, sushi as well as other cuisines, and they have never treated me or my fellow diners this way. Eventually the waiter relented and agreed to substitute the special roll for another. He had the audacity to tell my friend that next time she orders if she doesn't know about a roll ask him.
