It's a small, hidden little place that I wouldn't have found if someone else didn't recommend it to me. Service and prices are pretty average. The food was great, I had the brown rice with pork katsu and a side of curry. The katsu was very crispy and still moist on the inside. It was also a pretty big cutlet compared to other places I've had it at.

My order: teriyaki chicken plate, steamed rice, potato salad & an extra side of veggies. Teriyaki kitchen offers a menu that is centered around well executed teriyaki meals with options like grilled chicken, beef & salmon. I've been here a couple of times and haven't tried anything besides their grilled teriyaki chicken plate. The chicken is grilled to perfection & then glazed with a rich & savory, sweet soy-based sauce. They also have spicy options. For the base, you have options between white, brown or fried rice. I've had both the white & brown rice and it's been great all times (yes, there is such thing as bad rice). As for sides; your options are potato salad, steamed veggies or broccoli. If you order to-go, ask them not to put the potato salad with the rest of the meal (unless you don't mind hot potato salad lol). I can't say enough about that potato salad, it almost carries the meal. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I would also like to note that this is a small establishment so there's not a whole lot of seating arrangements.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's located at the end of a shopping strip which makes it easy to drive by & miss. It does get busy during peak hours so call in your order if you're short on time. Ask for extra teriyaki sauce & hot sauce! Between my husband and I, we spend about $30.

It was just not to my liking. I ordered pork and got undercooked chicken. I took it back and they replaced the order due to it being undercooked and it was still not any better. It's an acquired taste so if you like it, you really like it if you don't you really really don't.

This small whole in the wall isn't much to the naked eye in terms of ambiance and it was a little bit of a wait in terms of service. The was absolutely worth it, they have a mouth watering bento box. I was pleasantly surprised by how amazing the food was, the California rolls were yummy. The Teriyaki shrimp and fried shrimp were absolutely off the chain. I would highly recommend this little gem for a great lunch pop in.

This has become our new favorite go to spot for some Asian food. We really like their Spicy Teriyaki chicken, it's packed with flavored the chicken is cooked to perfection sweet and spicy. The beef udon was a little underwhelming. It was packed it with more udon noodles with a thin top layer for beef, which was disappointing. Beef was flavorful however, I just wish there was MORE of it. The special fried rice is your combination rice of beef and chicken mixed nothing different from your usual fried rice that you get from there. I would say overall Spicy Teriyaki is our fav!

This restaurant caps the end of an old strip block. It doesn't look like much outside, but the interior is modern and pleasant. You order and pay up front and the food is brought out to you. We ordered a few teriyaki plates and the katsu chicken plate. For each teriyaki plate, you have the option of white or brown rice, and stir-fried vegetables or potato salad. Other options are available for extra cost. The teriyaki chicken and spicy teriyaki chicken has a smoky flavorful taste. Portions are decent.

Okay, I wasnt expecting that. We ended up getting the salmon bento, the seafood panjeon and chicken teriyaki. And two waters. My friend got something else. We sat down off to the side. They had a few sauce bottles. One was definitely teriyaki, sambal and this sweet but savory sauce. The food came out relatively quick. The portion sizes were a bit bigger than I thought they'd be (esp w/ the teriyaki). I thought the food was okay. I like the different textures the bento box offered, and the veggie deep fried choices were varied. The chicken teriyaki was savory. I really did like the seafood panjeon. It felt like the shrimp was stuffed and very hearty. This place isnt bad!

Stopped in to grab something for lunch before I got to work but I wanted something I never had before. This placed popped up as I was searching through yelp and of corse I look for the higher ranking stores. This place definitely fell in line of what I was looking for. I got the chicken teriyaki plate and it was just so good. It was definitely a simple plate like something I can make at home but this was something I'd definitely come back to get and tell people to stop by and try it it they like teriyaki chicken. Now of corse they have other options than just chicken, I also got a side of the egg rolls and they were perfectly crispy and warm. Can't wait for my next meal.

Shaggy dog and spider roll were great. Crab meat roll was a miss for me , too fishy tasting.

Drove by this place while in town and have to say the food was excellent. They make their own teriyaki sauce (no MSG added) and even a spicy teriyaki sauce that is house made also. I appreciate that they gave me the option for brown rice instead of standard white rice. Try the spicy pork! read more

I love this place and come here all the time. It's very reasonably priced with generous portion sizes- I typically eat one serving over the course of two meals. The bento boxes are great bc they have a little taste of everything, the teriyaki chicken is of course delightful and I especially come here a lot for the Japanese curry which I don't see served in too many restaurants, at least not this delicious. They're also quick so I often come here before work to pick up my meal for the night! read more

Cheap, fast, friendly, and ridiculously delicious! Decided to take my brother here for a quick lunch and although the menu is small and not too terribly diverse after eating I doubt there is a single thing on the menu that is not truly exceptional. read more

Amazing experience. Firstly the area was not all that nice and did not expect what I saw. I searched up online for the closest teriyaki places near me since pei wei closed, and I drove. Firstly the manager of the store was amazing she offered free samples, a warm welcome and the samples were AMAZING. I got a plate with me and my friends and it did not take long and did not disappoint. Firstly the sauce was amazing, the chicken and rice was amazing and I am highly satisfied with what I got. This is my new favorite spot. Also it is very comfy and clean inside. read more

I've visited this place twice. The first time I just wanted to try it out. But I found bugs in my fountain drink. Took me some time to gather myself on it. So I went back to try it again this past Friday. And I order a dish, and found that were ants in my dish. I will never eat there again. I don't recommend anyone eating there. read more

I really enjoyed eating here! The service was great and everyone was very nice. As for the location, the inside was a lot nicer than expected (very clean as well). When I first met this restaurant a over a year ago I wanted to give it 6 of 5 stars. Today, I had a really hard time giving it 4 stars. Maybe I was spoiled because it was so good when I first started going there. As their foot traffic has increased, however, the quality of their product has dropped significantly. I hate to say it but I'm just being honest. I want to love it but I no longer do. I just throw it in occasionally to add variety to my week. Especially disappointing can be the carry out dishes. I know it's a mom and pop but with the numbers they see, they should really invest in hiring 1 more person to keep up with demand without sacrificing quality. read more

Very good food for a good price. The last time I went there I ordered Tonkotsu Ramen and it was probably one of the best Ramen I had so far. The menu has a big variation of food and if you are looking for something you can afford then this is the right place to eat. The staff is very friendly and serves you right away. 5/5 read more

We stopped by here for lunch around 2:00. We had to get our own menus and seat ourselves. After waiting ten someone came out of the kitchen and gave a to-go box to a customer, then went back into the kitchen. After another ten more minutes no one appeared. We then decided to leave. read more

I can't get over how great this place was. Amazing place, and the prices just make this even better. If you're not sure what to get, get the beef or chicken combo box! You'll get a chance to try a bunch of stuff from their menu. Great food. I can't wait to eat here again! read more

This place is great! I called and placed a to go order 15 mins before getting off working thinking that should be enough time but it was ready in 10! Luckily I work so close. I went in to pick up the order and saw a few people from my gym enjoying their meals. I went to pick up my order and was asked if I wanted extra sauce I regrettably said "No thank you", I will not make this mistake again. I ordered two orders of the amazing dumplings I read about and they really are AMAZING. Not too soggy and not too fried. I also got the teriyaki Chicken plate with brown rice and vegetables it was really flavorful. And the price . I will be going back to dine in soon! read more

This place is amazing!!! It's tucked away in a quite corner and I wasn't expecting much, but WOW!!! I got the teriyaki chicken plate and my boyfriend got the teriyaki chicken box. The chicken is so tender and the sauce is so perfect! And the box was a perfect size meal with a little bit of everything. This place will definitely become one of my regular spots! Tonight my wife and I decided to treat ourselves a little bit and go out to dinner after a long day of work. After placing our orders we sat down and chatted for 30 minutes or so before the waitress came out and tried to hand us an order that wasn't ours and rudely kept insisting that it's what we ordered. Finally after an awkward amount of time passed the couple at the table next to ours decided to pipe up and say "oh, I think that's ours" with their mouths full of food.... our food. It turns out that there was a mix up and they got our order instead. This is not a big deal to me, I completely understand that these things happen. The problem started when we received no apology for not getting our order and having to wait for another 30 minutes to get our food. Not only no apology to us but the waitress apologized profusely to the couple who ate our food, and kept eating it. On top of that, she brought them an extra plate on the house, both of their original orders and more apologizing on top of that! She refused to even look us in the eye or even acknowledge that we were he ones she should have been apologizing to. This made us feel unimportant and worthless and it was very upsetting especially since it was meant to be a treat for us to eat out tonight. This is a horrible service experience and I hope that they will read this review and take steps towards how to handle the situation better next time. I rated this restaurant 2/5 stars only because of the service experience. I would've given it a 4 if not for that experience because the food is delicious and I would definitely love to eat here again if I were only guaranteed to never be put in the same situation again. For now I would recommend ordering to go. read more

So happy I found this place! Real Northwest Teriyaki! I was complaining that Houston doesn't have Teriyaki restaurants like the ones in Oregon and Washington and was lucky to find Teriyaki Kitchen as my new favorite lunch spot! After talking to the owners I found out they are from Portland and had a Teriyaki restaurant up there so they know the style of rice and Teriyaki that I love! Great food, super clean, friendly owners and staff plus very responsibly priced. It's a little piece of home for me! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! read more

This restaurant was recommended to us from a friend and so we came to try it. But when we ate, the food was so much better than expected and the food tasted more homemade than restaurant food. Most fried rice I eat are really greasy most of the time but theirs was excellent and gave a homemade feeling. read more

Teriyaki Kitchen is a family owned restaurant located on Gessner and January 9th, 2017 was our opening date! Our head chef is a previous teriyaki restaurant owner of 15 years from Portland, Oregon. Everything we make at TK is made daily with fresh ingredients and we make all of our own teriyaki sauces from original, spicy, sweet and sour, and many more. We highly encourage anyone who is around the area to stop by and try our tasty and affordable dishes as well as enjoy the atmosphere of the modern look we tried to create for our customers here at TK! The serving size of the udon was a lot bigger than I anticipated so I feel like I got my money's worth. I definitely recommend coming for the lunch specials since they're good value.

I got their wagyu nigiri, which comes with two pieces, and their signature ramen. The signature ramen is well-balanced and is creamy. You can definitely tell that the noodles are hand-made. The noodles are curly and bouncy, and I really enjoy their texture. All the meats within the signature are tender and soft, melting in your mouth. The ramen here is a bit pricier than other locations, but I do believe the quality and freshness of the ramen really shows. The wagyu nigiri was good, but nothing special per se. The meat was quite thin and was a bit lackluster. The interior is quite small, which leads to some wait time. I recommend going earlier before they open to secure a spot and to avoid long wait times. Parking can also get crazy in the plaza during the weekends. Staff was quick and attentive. I definitely will be visiting more now that they are in Houston and look forward to trying their other ramen flavors!

Inside were tables with grills spread between 4 people of seating. There were both booths and tables. Everything was wooden and Japanese aesthetic inspired. You can control the grill flame with the knob next to your table, and it's completely self-serve they give you a couple tongs but otherwise you're all good to go. We ordered the meat lovers platter for 2 and it was more than enough food for 2 people. It came with rice, miso soup, a chicken, short rib, beef, edamame and a salad. This was a solid deal for 2 ($72 per person and $36 each). For two this price is reasonable, and more than enough food. Not included in this price, but offered at the restaurant are various options of soju, Sapporo beer and lychee cocktails. However, my only issue was that the other half of our party wanted to do AYCE. The AYCE starts at $45 and then goes up to $80. You have 90 minutes to eat this and they put up a wall between you and your party. For the cuts and meat, i doubt you'll get your money's worth unless you're willing to eat a lot,. This issue too is that the structure of the restaurant doesn't have a few hoods like other barbecue places. So it gets very hot inside as well as the smell of barbecue gets all over you. The parking situation is fine and there's probably around 50 people worth of seating inside.

I had decided to visit this place based on the reviews and a friend of mine highly recommended it. So I went. I did not get disappointed. The waitress was polite and friendly with us. I ordered the beef teriyaki. As I am a big fan of beef, I always try a beef dish as a gauge to see if the restaurant is good for my tastes. I have to say it was delicious! The whole dish was amazing! The sauce was the key and it tasted very good. Just enough to have a great taste on the beef and the vegetables. I highly recommend this place for the great food and the friendly staff! read more

This is a good stop for if you're looking for a nice, quick meal. From the outside, it looks like a hole-in-the-wall kinda spot. You walk in and order, then sit down and wait for them to bring you your meal. The wait time is pretty short. The price starts at $7 and they have a pretty extensive menu as this is a fusion place. The food itself is mediocre, in my opinion. Both the chicken teriyaki and soba noodles were on the sweeter side (I believe that they mainly cater to American tastes). The mom which is the owner came out and offered to replace it. Why im the hell would we want some more insects in our food.
