We ordered individual catered meals for our team lunch and I love how each item was carefully labeled! Made it much easier to figure out which meal belonged to who. Each meal came with extra teriyaki sauce cups, hot sauce, a utensil and napkins. I had the regular chicken teriyaki with white rice and veggies. I enjoyed it! Great flavor and even better portion. The bowl size seemed like a standard portion but the bowl was packed in and had a lot of food. Teriyaki madness was a hit for our group!

Food was fantastic!! It was so nice to have FRESH ingredients with quality. The men who helped me figure out my order were wonderful! 10/10 service and fast! The restaurant was extremely clean!!! I would 100% recommend!

Fast, friendly service, large portions. Chicken was cooked too perfection with a good portion of vegetables.

It's Crazy! Insane! Complete Madness! Well, it's Teriyaki Madness and it's a good fast casual place for a simple teriyaki meal. It's located in a plaza with plenty of parking and the interior has several tables including half a dozen booths. I came in on a weekday afternoon and ordered the chicken teriyaki combo which came with an egg roll and drink. The chicken was good quality, nothing chewy or unidentified. The rice was cooked perfectly. I like their teriyaki sauce but wish they'd give more than the microscopic container they provide. Since I ate there I could have asked for more but really, should I have to? Just provide a normal sized container. The egg roll was surprisingly delicious and my fountain drink was just fine. The fellow at the counter was friendly and I gave a solid 4 stars because I really appreciated that this place doesn't spin the order screen around and demand a tip!

I have ordered Teriyaki Madness via DoorDash about a half a dozen times, and my wife and I went to their restaurant today for the first time. Teriyaki Madness is a welcome change, in my opinion, to its bigger competitors, Waba Grill and Flame Broiler. I believe Teriyaki Madness excels by proving bigger portions that are cooked with more care. I typically always order the spicy tofu bowl. Further, I have ordered the regular tofu bowl and the tofu bowl with mad sauce. All three are delicious and I have come to like the amount of spice and heat that is in the sauces (other than the mad sauce, which is a bit much--more in this later). Also, to me, Teriyaki Madness's rice is fluffier than some of the competitors, which may be due in part to them using sushi rice, or some other stickier rice. One of my biggest compliments about Teriyaki Madness, however, isn't about the food itself but about its maintenance of quality and consistency. Each time I've ordered from Teriyaki Madness I have had the same great experience that I've come to expect. The one critique I have is that their menu can be confusing. The menu encourages patrons to order in two steps, but the steps have overlapping instructions. The conundrum I often get caught in is: if I order the "spicy tofu bowl" does that include mad sauce? Or is the mad sauce separate and "spicy" is some intermediate category? You never really choose a cause in their two step menu but you can ADD a sauce... even though each bowl comes with sauce already, though it isn't clear on the type. All said, I have ended up in situations where I feel I have ordered correctly but either ended up with all mad sauce or no mad sauce, and I believe it is because I am selecting the wrong option--not a matter of quality or consistency. To prove my point, scroll through the picture some have already uploaded... one has "spicy tofu teriyaki" on the menu but the other doesn't... which is it?! All in I love Teriyaki Madness, and I believe by simplifying its menu and making clear what the sauces and options are it could be a five-star fast food restaurant!

My experience and meal was five star!…read moreThough, keep in mind that my five stars is based on dining here only once and not at peak hours. We arrived just after noon on a weekday. The restaurant wasn't busy and we were seated right away. The vibe inside was authentic feeling Japanese style, smallish with several tables and sushi bar seating. My chicken oyakodon was a bowl of cozy comfort to me. It was topped with two slices of yellow pickled daikon. I'm sure it was homemade daikon, not like what you get in a jar from Tokyo Central. We were served their delicious miso soup as a starter. My sister ordered beef teriyaki and tempura. She said it was good. The restaurant started filling up as we ate our meal. A good sign of good authentic Japanese is when you see a lot of Japanese/Asians filling up the place, especially older people (haha, like me), because you know they know well prepared authentic. And that's the crowd that was coming in. Located in a busy center with limited parking, it must get crazy busy later in the evening because the sign outside the entrance says where to form the line. Anyway, my oyakodon and miso soup was so good!

I don't think many restaurants offers cold soba option so if you never tried it, here is the probably the best place in south OC to give it a shot. This restaurant is located in a large plaza so there are plenty parking. The wait is usually not long at all. I have been here a few times with my family during lunch and dinner and it is never that packed. I think it is located in a pretty secluded area so it is not busy but the food is very good. The decor is simple but clean and has many tables. This most recent visit I ordered the marinated beef hot udon and my daughter ordered the Kakiage cold udon. I didn't know what Kakiage is so the staff kindly educated me that it is a ball of Tempura vegetables. Please don't mix it up with Karaage which is Fried Chicken. They are two different dishes. The broth of my beef udon is deep with umami flavor. The soup base has a legit dashi flavor, not the instant udon flavor. You can tell the difference right away. We also ordered the grill squid. The grill squid is tender and has a unique tastes like the dried squid snacks that I get from the Japanese market. The staff even offered hot water for my daughter's left over dipping sauce. She mixed her dipping sauce with hot water to drink it as a soup. Overall the food is great and we'll definitely be back for more.

FYI -- no photos because we were busy with a cranky toddler. First, the service was genuinely great. The sweetest lady helped us with the menu and served our food, and we really appreciated her kindness. We were also given complimentary edamame, which was thoughtful, although it was bland, dry, and cold -- almost like it had been sitting in the fridge for a while. Since it was complimentary, we didn't think too much of it. For the mains, we ordered the beef teriyaki and chicken teriyaki bento specials. Unfortunately, both proteins were sliced extremely thin. The chicken especially had a jerky-like texture, and both the chicken and beef lacked flavor. After reading other reviews, they had similar experience. The teriyaki sauce itself was also pretty bland. The tempura was okay, but the tempura dipping sauce tasted watered down and lacked the usual savory depth you'd expect. The one standout was the roll topped with salmon and avocado with spicy tuna inside. It was presented beautifully and tasted fresh and well-balanced. Based on this, I honestly think rolls are what they do best. I really hope they improve the preparation and seasoning of the chicken and beef because it was a major turnoff -- and this is coming from someone who eats pretty much everything. It's hard to justify paying around $22 for a bento when the main protein feels flavorless and insubstantial. With so many good Japanese resto in Lake Forest, I would skip this until the proteins are fixed.

Highly recommend the chicken katsu and tonkatsu. Portion sizes are huge and you will get full! The katsu was so crispy, and the chicken katsu was still juicy and tender in the middle. I love that you can add a 4 piece California roll or curry to make it a combo. Service was fast and quick, with our server checking in for more water or if there was anything else we needed. The only downside is the wait, especially for Sunday lunch.
