I ordered fried rice and teriyaki chicken bento. Everything is so yummy and strongly recommended. The chef is a Japanese and i can taste authentic Japanese food here. I will definitely come back this restaurant for my lunch and dinner!

I had Tanuki Cold Udon, something I never saw before at other places. It was amazing. Highly recommended especially in hot weather.

    #3 Chicken Katsu

Teriyaki Tei is such a great find. This cozy, family-run spot has a warm, welcoming vibe! The owners are incredibly friendly and clearly have a loyal group of regulars, which says a lot. The food is full of flavor and care: the Chicken Katsu was perfectly crispy with juicy, tender meat, the Combo Fried Rice had a great mix of beef, chicken, and shrimp with well-seasoned, fluffy rice, and the Chicken Teriyaki with the chef's special sauce was unforgettable. Portions are generous, prices are fair, and everything is served in a clean, comfortable setting. I'll definitely be back to try the noodle dishes next time!

    Menu

Excellent food at a great value. The owners are authentic and clearly take pride in serving Japanese home-style cuisine.

It was busy inside but still got seated without waiting. Insane quality of fish not one single item I ordered had an off taste. The fast that my spicy mayo and ponzu was full when I left goes to show how insanely well they prepared the food sauce wise. Overall great place I will be back to try more things for sure. All this food double the salmon roe and scallop sushi because it was that good I had to go for round 2 but all this for 80$ was insaneeeee!!!!! And of course leave tip lol. For sure coming back!

We had an rsvp but wasn't busy when we arrived. Was sat immediately and served water. They have a pretty extensive menu of most things you'd find at a sushi cut roll spot. We ended up ordering the toro garlic toast, veggie tempura, ginza roll, and several pieces of nigiri sushi. The toro garlic toast was pretty good - sort of like a spicy tuna crispy rice situation ... but a little fattier and more garlicky than crispy. The ginza roll was pretty good too - a lot of fish in the roll and wasn't overwhelming with too much sauce. The tempura was good too- not super oily and all your typical veg involved. The nigiri sushi were pretty well prepared. The size was pretty good for the price - and each were accompanied by a small garnish on top or a little bit of sauce brushed on. All in all - I wouldn't say it's a date night place, but is a good easy eats sushi spot for rolls and nigiri for the price. Would recommend!

Upon entering, we were immediately greeted by the manager and staff, who were very attentive and happy to answer any questions we had. For our meal, we splurged on two lunch sets and one sashimi assortment. The portions were extremely generous for the two of us, and the freshness of the fish was incredible. I definitely recommend trying this place if you get the chance to visit Chapman Plaza. We'll definitely be back

After finding parking in the residential area, we walked to the restaurant and got seated right away. Note for parking: there is a lot available for all the restaurants in the complex ($10/car) but it may be difficult to find parking here during peak meal times. If you're willing to walk a bit, park up the street near the apartments. We chose to seat at the bar and had a wonderful experience talking to our sushi chef and Tiger, the manager. We were told that our sushi chef was one of the best chefs from their Japan branches, and that was evident in all of the sushi we ordered. Every cut of fish was consistently thin and crafted with expertise. We ordered quite a spread (spicy tuna crispy rice, albacore with crispy onion, eel nigiri, sweet shrimp nigiri, agedashi tofu, wild cod nigiri, etc.), and every dish was on point. The fish quality is unlike anything I've ever had before. In fact, Tiger told us the tuna is brought in from Japan. After ordering from our iPad, we started asking our chef and Tiger what their favorite dishes were, leading us to try all these different, off the menu customizations. Overall, such a fun dining experience and really solid sushi. We will absolutely be back.

There are many more flavorful authentic options throughout LA. The service was, well, nonexistent. The server never checked up on our table after the food was served. There's a strong possibility we would've ordered more food, definitely more beverages, had he checked on our table. At one point, a woman who appeared to be manager/owner walked into the restaurant, and her and server went to a booth at the back of the restaurant, closed the curtains and left the restaurant with no discernible servers for the duration of their "meeting". It took over 20 mins to simply pay for the meal. Overheard a table over confronting the server over a discrepancy over the tip amount, the 20% amount on the pay machine actually being more than 20% of the bill. This tracks with what others have cautioned. Location and ambiance is lovely, but not enough to warrant a revisit.

It's near a plaza so there is metered street parking in addition to a lot which was nice. The place itself is pretty small but they do have some space inside/outdoors for group tables. Come before or after the rush as it might be hard to get a table for a larger group. I ordered the rice bowls and thought the portions were massive. In addition to the sushi rice they include plenty of greens as well to add a nice crunch to the meal. I ordered the albacore and catfish bowls and my favorite had to be the bbq catfish like many other yelpers. The albacore was fresh as well but I wish the proteins had a bit more per serving to balance out the rice and price point as they come closer to $15+ a bowl. Overall, I thought Yuko's was a solid lunch option with an extensive menu. The rice bowls were hearty but also refreshing depending on the protein option you get.

4/27/2026 SHOYU…read moreRAMEN Deliciously addictive shoyu broth! Made with organic chicken broth and house dashi. The broth was deep, rich in flavor, yet not heavy. I could have drank the broth by itself! The ramen was wavy and thin and very slurpable. I wish it was slightly more chewy, but it was still good. The chashu pork was tender and juicy. Given half of the seasoned egg, which was soft and jammy. Perfect! Too bad they gave only half of it. Bamboo shoots and scallion were added as well Really enjoyed this ramen and would order it again! BLACK SESAME CREME BRULEE This was good, but the serving bowl was shallow and the portion was small. Strong black sesame flavor and the brulee top was crunchy with a lovely caramelized sugar, as expected. The one disappointment was that it was not custard that was served, but sesame cream. It was as though they added black sesame paste and whipped cream together. Then added the bruleed top. CUSTOMER SERVICE I was there for lunch on Monday. It wasn't busy nor crowded either. Only one server working. Everyone was already seated and eating. Since I was the only one that has not been served yet, the service was quick. Server was straight to the point too. She did check back during my meal, which was good. Given my experience, I would return to try other items on the menu. But most likely return to order their Shoyu Ramen again. PARKING It is a medium-sized parking lot that is shared with other businesses. Parking is free. They had a valet sign at the front, but there was no valet available during the day. I didn't have trouble finding parking, but I got lucky, as it was packed by the time I got there. There were maybe 1-2 other spots available, but they filled up quickly.

Solid 4 Stars for the Yuzu Shio Ramen & Incredible Service…read more Parking: If you're coming on a Sunday, just heads up that the lot is entirely valet. Skip the fee and look for street meter parking instead--it's free on Sundays. The Food: Yuzu Shio Ramen (5/5): Absolutely delicious. If you want a break from heavy tonkotsu broths, this is light, clean, and incredibly refreshing. The noodle texture was spot on (not too soft), and it came with four tender chashu slices with a nice hint of char, plenty of bamboo shoots, and a good amount of green onions. The half soft boiled egg was also delicious. Blossom Roll (2.5/5): This sounded amazing on paper, especially since I love yuzu and it was supposed to feature both yuzu and yuzu kosho. It did, and I like the subtle hint of it. Unfortunately, I ended up focusing too much on the sushi rice itself, which had a noticeably starchy texture and a light rice fragrance that wasn't necessarily bad, but it wasn't good either. It just made me question how they prepared it (maybe the rice wasn't washed? It almost reminds me of a risotto). Overall, it just wasn't as enticing as expected. Service: 10/5 stars! The service here is truly fantastic. My girlfriend ordered the Tai Spicy Miso Ramen but realized after a bite that the flavor profile wasn't for her. Even though the menu description was accurate, our waitress was incredibly sweet and swapped it out for a Yuzu Shio Ramen instead. Truly amazing hospitality. Ambiance: They play house music in the background, which sets a decent vibe, but there was a distinct chemical/cleaning product smell in the air when we walked in. It wasn't Pine-Sol, but it was a bit off-putting. Thankfully, it didn't interfere with the food but if you have a sensitive nose, this might bother you Verdict: I'd definitely come back if I'm in the mood for ramen and am in the area.
