    Beef Yakisoba

Teriyaki town is so solid, every time. Especially, the beef yakisobi. The noodles are prepared just right. Excellent texture and flavor. The beef strips are nice and tender with good flavor as well. Such a perfect dish for a quick meal to go.

I'm hungry. When one is hungry one tends to go for Asian cuisine. Why you ask? Simple, they give a lot of food. Hollywood has its share of good food around and I really wasn't sure what I wanted but, Teriyaki Town was right across the street from where I was and it was looking good. It was after the lunch rush, of course I'm assuming there's a lunch rush, and I was just plain hungry. Many choices and I went with a chicken and beef teriyaki combo and it came with salad and rice. HUGE PLATE OF FOOD. Also a rather tasty plate of food. To make it spicy (of course I did that) tack on 50 cents. Beef, chicken and jalapenos kept me quite satisfied. Solid food to fill you up. I'd go back again on occasion. Enjoy.

Too bad I didn't see the spicy menu until after the fact...burn. Pricing is really fair. Chicken bowl for $5.85 seemed like a really good deal imo. $0.50 extra to make it spicy was worth it, if you like spicy. The decor and interior is nothing to write home about. The decor made it feel kinda like Waipahu for some reason. The full sized plates were reasonable prices as well coming in b/n $7.50-$9. No msg up in this biz which is a plus, right? To say the serving sizes here are generous is an understatement. So I got the chicken bowl. I stuffed my pie hole and it was bomb and I still had a enough leftovers for a lunch meal. Now for the actual grub. Okay so, I'm not sure what level of spicy he put my dish at b/c when he asked he only said "no hot, medium or spicy?" So of course I said spicy. I did notice there was the lowest level on the spicy chart that read "spicy" but if my food was the lowest level of spicy then these guys are running off a different Scoville scale but DAMN was it good!! It was SPICY but had great flavor that came along with that bite. I tasted garlic which I love. There was plenty of sticky white rice too which is really what got me through that heat. The steamed veggies were really good and cooked perfectly. They had some sauce on it that was good. There was plenty of chicken in my bowl as well. For the beverages... They've got jarritos, Arizona iced teas, Snapple, soda. Bottles of water are $1. It looked like they even offer complimentary hot tea. Service isn't the fastest but they appeared to be steady busy so understandable.

I had chicken yaki soba, medium spicy. It was spicy for me. And we had chicken teriyaki with all white meat. That was kind of dry. The bathroom is very nice. The service is super quick I wouldn't say so friendly though.

It is an okay spot for your rice and teriyaki lunch fix. The prices are reasonable at under $9. The best thing to do is get your item to go unless you like the uneasy quiet kind of places....

This place is conveniently located near my place of employment. We frequent here often and have always had stellar service and good food. Their portions are big and you can tell them the level of spice you like. The price is right and the ambience leaves a bit to be desired but it's better than my desk! I love their chicken Ramen! They put in a whole egg, two potstickers along with broccoli and ample chicken.. I have yet to finish it in one sitting. If you're in the 'hood give 'em a shot and enjoy a cup of their complimentary tea

Typical teriyaki joint menu but with huge portions and great prices. We all really enjoyed our food and the woman working was so nice and accommodating. The spicy bomb wasn't quite as hot as I would have liked, but everything was very delicious nonetheless! Will keep this place in mind when I'm working in the area! The complimentary hot tea was absolutely wonderful on a cold, cold day!

There are so many choices for Teriyaki in this town, this place is excellent! Don't let the exterior of the building fool you, doesn't look like much. Bottom line the food is banging, spicy chicken for life!! The couple that runs the place are very kind and a pleasure to interact with! Give it try!!

Aspen greets me like an old friend, a happy welcome into an expansive, ethereal space that feels more like LA than (perennially in the 90s) Portland. Low lounge & hi-top tables surround an open-air kitchen - transparency in the atmosphere as well as their "nose-to-tail" cooking techniques. The bar is long and dotted with glowing agate votives, vines extending down over a broad selection of booze (whisky & bourbon by style, including Japanese). One menu offers cheeky cocktails, mocktails, and a wide variety of Willamette bottles + a broad selection of European & South American wines. Another menu presents Cold dishes/RAW bar/Small Plates & Larger (sharing recommended). First course is a bluefin TUNA SASHIMI (butchered in-house with absolute precision) alongside a Serrano black sugar tamari (RIDICULOUS blend of salty/umami/spicy/sweet and smartly balanced by THICK-cut servings of tuna & chutoro (3x3). The fresh fish shines, as does explosive flavor in the sauce. Brilliant, bravo! Second, bartender recommends a house-favorite DUMPLING - this is one like never before, blending Linguiça (a Portuguese sausage), leeks, and cabbage that has a familiar texture within tissue-thin rice dumplings, but completely original umami, especially paired with the Japanese curry. It's wholesome and comforting, not too filling, and entirely new. THIRD if I MAE (pronunciation, questionable) - LAMB SPARE RIBS in a heaping portion with sweet/spicy tamarind sticky sauce that's barely reminiscent of BBQ, a perfect counter-balance to fatty, slightly gamey lamb. It's the cilantro herb salad on top & green olive tapenade that make it sing - textures and flavors are exotic, playful, herbal & funky (in a good way) all at once. Whether you're seeking a hot date night, a special staycation (right here in the Historic Arts District), or hosting a board meeting, there is space and plenty of taste for all, with a refinement in technique characteristic of larger cities. A sweet and savory reminder that family is a state of mind, and we're all connected for better or worse.

Momoko is a wonderful server, attentive, professional, and graceful in every interaction. The décor adds a playful charm without being distracting, creating a fun atmosphere to savor such high-quality food. My usual order * Uni * Ikura * Amaebi (sweet shrimp head fried, tail raw) I usually request no sauce but forgot this time. Even so, the sauce offered a soft, vibrant complement to the raw tail, though I ended up taking most of it off. Shredded daikon also pictured, a staple. Tried this visit * Crispy Rice Tuna I always like to try one item unique to each restaurant, and this was it. The rice was perfectly crisp on the outside yet still fluffy inside, topped with a generous portion of seasoned tuna. We both did the omakase, which is their coursed tasting menu, and it was amazing. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, balanced, and intentional. This was my first time getting sushi since moving to Portland, and it honestly made the experience feel really special. We also tried the house sake flight, which was a lot of fun since I'm not very familiar with sake. After that, we ordered another sake that my friend picked after talking with one of the servers, who seemed very knowledgeable and helpful with recommendations. One of the coolest surprises was finding out they use fresh Oregon Coast wasabi, grated to order. Such a unique and local touch. The ambiance was beautiful, cozy, and intimate. I also thought the music was kind of funny in a good way -- they were playing this soft disco-style selection, which I wasn't expecting for a sushi and sake spot. I thought it might be more traditional Japanese music, but honestly it worked. It wasn't too loud at all, and I could still have a great conversation with my friend.
