Hadn't been here in a year, we were next door and hungry so we tried again. This time was much better, impressive actually. We ate there which was a bonus having the food freshly prepared & hot. Plus they have all the sauces in bottles if you request ( teriyaki, gyoza, salad dressing, hot sauce, katsu & soy). We each had a bento box which includes egg flower soup (delicious), salad, 3-gyoza (delicious ) and rice plus choice of 2 entrees $18.99. I had honey garlic chicken and general Tso's chicken. Loved the sweet garlicky moist chicken bites, but the Tso's was different than the norm, it too was batter fried (?) and no spicy kick or peanuts as expected. No real veggies either, just some diced carrots/peas in the middle of chicken. It was good but just sweet, too similar to the honey chicken without the garlic. Hubby had teriyaki beef and chicken katsu. Beef tender shreds, good but nothing memorable, but the katsu was the star, generous portion of juicy chicken strips coated in a slight sweet crisp crust. I'd definitely order the garlic honey chicken and the katsu next time! Must add again the soup, gyoza and salad all prepared great as well. Service pleasant. Teriyaki like everything now is getting pricey but the portion was enough for 2 meals so it works out. read more

Really disappointed with my experience here. I found a hair in my teriyaki while eating, and it completely ruined my appetite. It's honestly disgusting and makes me question how clean the kitchen and food preparation process really are. I understand mistakes can happen, but something like this should never make it into a customer's food. I couldn't even finish my meal after seeing it. Cleanliness and basic food safety should be the bare minimum for any restaurant, especially when people are paying for quality food and service. Amazing food!! The veggie yakisoba and Mongolian chicken were delicious! Food looked and tasted so fresh! My daughter, who had the yakisoba said that Teriyaki Town was now a favorite...she's really a picky eater, so that's saying a lot!! The Mongolian chicken has great flavor, and the chicken was so tender. I really enjoyed eating it! The price tag wasn't too bad..$37, but that's actually 4 meals because of the portion sizes! I just tried this place tonight for dinner and it DID NOT disappoint!! The portions are huge (easily enough for 2 people) and the flavor is delicious! My sesame chicken was SO juicy -- and even tho it was fried, there weren't any pieces that tasted burnt or all breading and no chicken (like when it comes out of a frozen bag). I went to order in-person around 5PM and only had to wait about 10 minutes for my food to be ready. The girl with the glasses who took my order was very friendly and courteous. It was really kind of unassuming in there. Clean but outdated in decor. There were tables and chairs but they didn't really give the come sit down for an hour type of vibe. Also completely empty -- and I doubt it's because of the food and more-so because of people not knowing it's there (you can easily miss it from the street view because of trees covering the door and sign). I just happened to glance in that direction while I was driving by and decided to check it out. I've lived in this area for 4 years and have never noticed it before today. Price wise it's comparable to the 2 other teriyaki places nearby (literally within the same intersection -- Suzy's Pho and Honto Teriyaki) but of the three, this one will be my new favorite for sure. I feel like I got the most bang for my buck and my food was 10/10. I also tried a shrimp roll (their version of a tempura) and it was good too. The only thing I didn't care for was the consistency of the roll -- it didn't have much of a bite to it because 3/4 of the ingredients were naturally soft in texture, but the flavor was there. And it did come with 8 pieces. I would get it again and also be willing to try a different roll next time. It's not the best sushi in the area but it's definitely above average. All in all I spent $30 on everything. If you're looking for a good spot in Puyallup or have been thinking of giving them a shot -- I say do it! I'll definitely come back again. read more

Surprisingly for a Korean owned Teriyaki joint.. their sushi is pretty good.. they pickled their sushi rice perfectly.. pretty good as there is more rice vinegar than needed but I like it.. ingredients taste good.. fried chicken inside roll is a piece of their chicken teriyaki with panko deep fried like tempura.. eel is tender and tasty with that avocado.. and great service And the other thing is I like their teriyaki already for years which makes this an already good place with their teriyaki now great with their take on sushi read more

While in Town we always try to find local places that are unique. Well you must try this wonderful place. We started with Shrimp Tempura. The batter on them was crunchy kind of sweet and delicious. Next we had Spicy Chicken Teriyaki. It came with a salad and white sticky rice. It was so spicy and good. The rice helped with the spiciness. The owner was so kind. It's a small world when we learned her daughter had been training where my son works. Part of dining out at least for me is meeting new people and hearing their stories. So try them out. My husband, & kids all got sick after eating here, we called them many times and they just said it's not possible to get sick from their food, which is a poor attitude to take instead for checking to see if mistakes could have been made or possibly refrigeration issues. We spent almost $100 on the food and to be treated this way is so wrong on many levels! We won't go back for sure. I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy. read more

Predictable but delicious take-out teriyaki - and really, what more do most people want than predictable when trying a new teriyaki place? The chicken was nice and flavorful, crispy on the edges, and juicy on the inside. Great rice. Do they push the envelope - no. It's also a bit hard to get and REALLY tough to drive out - you have to turn Right onto 112th with all the traffic waiting at the light. Honestly if not for that reason we would come here more often. Takeout service during covid-19 crisis was good, fast and efficient. Make sure that you order extra teriyaki sauce, otherwise the chicken is far too dry. The chicken was a little over cooked and we couldn't eat the katsu chicken because of how dry the chicken was and the breading was falling off. The lettuce for the salad had also seen better days and was slightly pink and slimy. I did not eat my salad due to this, but I'm sure if you weren't picky it would have been fine :) Overall: good not great. Recently my husband and I couldn't decide what to eat and so we decided to try this place. Close by and easy to get to. What a gem!! We ordered the family style meal, and I cant remember the last time I ate so much! It was absolutely delicious, and there was so much food we had it again the next day. Pickup couldnt have been easier. Order was ready when they specified it would be, and the portions were enormous! I think we had 4 different entrees, so selection was great. Great wonton soup! We order here often! Service always great! I mostly order take out but the ladies working there are always very friendly!

The food now is vastly different. The interior of the restaurant is vastly different. There's so many things on the menu, it's hard to do ALL of those things well. We had the basic teriyaki/katsu and Hot/Spicy Teriyaki. The Katsu was overcooked and dried out. The salad was dry, bland and not very crunchy like it used to be. The Hot/Spicy was more sour or vinager-y that it was pretty much inedible. The portions are considerably smaller and the prices considerably higher. To Yong and Jae, we miss you so! We miss your personal touch on the salads, the teriyaki chicken marinade and the soup! WOW! This place doesn't look like much from the outside(or even the inside really) but the food and owners are unbeatable. The prices are super affordable and you leave with your box full to the brim and overflowing. (At least the teriyaki dinner meal) every thing I've tried has been great besides my egg roll was fried in a bit too old of oil one time. My grandparents and I were regular customers here for many years, but the new owners have ruined things. Chicken was dry, portions were tiny and cut down with soggy vegetables. The sauce was extremely bland and the rice was dry. Sad to see our favorite restaurant go, but we will not be returning. read more

I was hoping that maybe they kept the same recipes but unfortunately not. Anyone that has ever gone here and knows the flavor of the spicy chicken and soup, knows that it is far superior to all competitors. Unfortunately that is no longer the case. Pulled into this Puyallup eatery, and found it to be a decent, albeit, run-of-the-mill teriyaki place. Wasn't particularly crowded, maybe I missed the lunch rush if any? Anyway, I figured I'd go with pretty much the gold standard of any teriyaki place in the Pacific Northwest... Teri chicken lunch special - with three gyoza. I took a seat in a booth, and the person at the counter promptly brought out some egg drop soup. Nice touch. Then out came the main event. Pretty much as expected -- the holy trilogy, Teri chicken drenched in teri sauce, a neat pile of white rice (which was cooked very well, btw), and the obligatory iceberg lettuce with the standard white dressing stuff. And, of course, the three gyoza. Gyoza, deep fried, tasty. Nothing spectacular. The chicken - cooked well, not dry by any stretch. Heavy on the teri sauce, though. I went here for lunch last week with my three year old son to make an order to go. I wanted to order a California Roll, but they said they were too busy to make it. That was odd because there was only two other people in the restaurant at the time, and only two more came and left while I was sitting waiting for my food. Disappointedly I said ok and ordered the chicken katsu and beef teriyaki instead. I've never been served beef teriyaki in strips, usually its a shredded beef, and I didn't like it at all. It was so tough I couldn't chew it, and the chicken katsu was even worse! I don't know if they fried it too long or they needed to change the oil but it was the darkest katsu I've ever been served and tasted so disgusting I only took one bite and threw the rest away. Its near the Deer Creek Apts that I called home for a while and miss the apartment due to the fact that my teriyaki place is no longer within walking distance. My brother got the spicy chicken/spicy pork combo and I got chicken and gyozas. Both were among the best teriyaki either my brother or I have ever had. This is probably the worst teriyaki joint I have ever gone to. My husband and I recently moved to Spanaway and was on the search for a teriyaki joint closer to home. Saw the reviews and figured I'd give them a try. We ordered Spicy Chicken and Pork combination, Spicy Chicken and Beef Combination, and an order of Egg Rolls. Pros: - Eggrolls, then again how can you really screw those up? Cons: -Portions are small when considering the charge for the meal. $11 for a combination meal is ridiculous! - Incredibly RUDE service. The woman at the register ignored us when we walked in, and even when we tried to get her attention. -I called in a to-go order. I had told her I would be there in 15 minutes, it really ended up being 20. By the time I got there, food was not done. Had to wait an extra 15 minutes for my food to be done. -When I told the lady "as spicy as you can make it" she attempted. It was spicy for my husband, and not even close to being spicy for me. -When we arrived home, boxes weren't labeled with the contents, and the two Teriyaki meals looked and tasted exactly the same! We couldn't tell which was Pork and which was Beef! And to top it all off, no silverware was given. I will NEVER return. And you should stay as far away from this place as possible. read more
