On Sunday night Valentine's Day: there was no protocol followed at Terra Rustica Restaurat. They were overbook an there were a lot of people with no face mask on, it looked very busy unsafe, people in big groups at the bar with no social distance and no mask , very very disappointing, they make big partys over 60 people on one small room ???????? Hello are you serious!!!!!! I was wondering if they get the vaccine all ready? By far, the worst dinner experience I've ever had. The parking was terrible, our reservation was not honored causing us to wait a half an hour, our table was not set properly when we were seated, our waiter told us it would take an hour for our entrees because they were busy but it took much longer than that, we were told our drinks would be comp'd but when the bill came they were not, the ladies room was disgusting with one stall out of order and garbage overflowing. Went here tonight with my husband for dinner. As soon as the waiter came over we gave our drink, app and dinner order. We shared clams oreganata and oysters Rockefeller. The clams were okay a couple had sand and two had a shell while that wasn't such a big deal the oyster cream sauce had a bug floating in the dish. I was beyond disgusted. Not sure what kind of bug it was but it disgusted me so much I couldn't eat anymore of the oysters. Told the waiter and showed him the bug immediately all he did was apologize. After we were done with our apps we waited (45mins no exaggeration) for our entrees to arrive. We also had to inquire about them a couple times too. Not sure why there was so much of a delay as they didn't offer any explanation. They offered to give us a drink on the house which we declined as I don't drink and my husband already one drink. We will not be coming back to this restaurant. If you serve food with a bug in it the dish should be comped. Also don't keep people waiting 45 minutes between apps and dinner entree. What should have been a nice dinner out with my husband turned out to be a horrible dining experience. Would have been better off staying home and ordering pizza. read more

A nice, cozy, family-style Italian restaurant with good atmosphere and better food. As I'm currently living in Austin, I don't get the same level of Italian that you do in the northeast. As a consequence, whenever I'm in DC, NY, Boston or wherever I try to get some good Italian. I was grabbing dinner with a coworker and he said this was where he went for good Italian. I was not disappointed. At first I was shocked by the prices, but I found out that it was Wednesday and that was "pasta night" where they had a bunch of pastas and soup for $15 instead of the usual $19-25. I got the Linguini Berlin--but don't ask me what it had to do with Germany, I've got no idea--which was linguini with scallops and mussels in an alfredo sauce. It was stunningly good. The scallops were perfectly cooked, the mussels were delicious an the pasta was actually al dente. The other highlight was the bread that came out before dinner. There were 3 different kinds and all of them were clearly freshly baked. Dipping them in the olive oil with balsamic vinegar, black pepper, and pepper flakes basically served as a better appetizer than you can order at a lot of places. There are a lot of options here and the prices are very reasonable which is great! The cinnamon apple waffle was absolutely amazing. Really soft cinnamony apples covered a sweet crunchy waffle and I will 100% be back to eat them again. The sweet potato pancakes were also delicious. The servers were nice and attentive but our major issue was that an omelet we ordered had a ridiculous amount of egg shells in it. Like it really seemed like they just threw the entire egg in and scrambled it along with the omelette. Big chunks small chunks every bite had shells in it. We showed the waiter all the shells and the person I was with who ordered it said he was done he ate enough fries and didn't want a new plate (they didn't offer he just said this) and there was no apology or offer to comp the meal or even any shock that they served a plateful of egg shells! Like really just nonchalant like oh ok and he showed another waiter and they just walked away and nothing more was said about it. Very odd. read more

Have not been for dinner in a while, but I do enjoy very much going here for lunch as often as i can. The olives and oil on the table to go with the bread is great and the lunch salads are just awesome! Always fresh and warm( I usually have chicken or grilled veggies on my salads). Ordered off seamless/grubhub for pickup, I work nearby. Waited for 20+ mins before leaving on my break to drive there to pick up the food so I wouldn't have to wait when I get there. Man at the front says he's got no orders at all. Finally when standing there in front of the guy, I get a text saying my order was cancelled. I'm asking for an explanation from the man in the front and he's ignoring me and trying to seat other guest who walked in behind me then tells me there's nothing he can do? First of all. don't cancel so last minute. This place, and pretty much any place in this area is not within walking distance. People go out of their way to drive somewhere to pick up food, you don't cancel 20 to 30 mins later when they're already on their way or already there. its messed up and a waste of my break. read more

Love the brunch here and can't say enough about the savory Terra Rustica omelet packed with fresh veggies and chorizo. Portions are large and also comes with delicious home fries and toast or choice of bagel or muffin. Service was excellent but odd. The busboy came to clear our table before we got our order. He didn't speak English so when I asked him not to clear it was a real effort to stop him. Anyway, the food never disappoints and the staff is very friendly and responsive otherwise. read more

I will never order food from this restaurant again. Both the chicken pesto pannini & the chicken francese were awful. My husband & I both got sick from their food. I don't need to be yelled at in broken English when I call the restaurant to confirm that the pesto & salad dressing were both on the side. The menu gave a choice including a side salad but I was told that it was too expensive & that they would be raising their prices soon & that the only side option was mashed potatoes. Then why do they list it on their menu. I had a similar experience when I last ordered from them a while ago but I was hoping the food would improve. We dined on their outdoor patio on a warm summer evening. They had a full bar, which we took advantage of...no beers on tap though. The wait staff was pleasant and never grumbled once to our requests of extra lime juice in the drinks or extra bread for the table. We hung out and chatted awhile before ordering our meals and after we finished our meals, but never felt pressured or rushed to get on with our evening. I got the pesto Jumbo shrimp in a tomato-y sauce with a small mound of orzo and stringy asparagus on the side. The shrimp was a little dry. The pesto was a little underwhelming. It would appear that I made a poor choice out of a fairly large menu. My husband got the mussels over cavatelli and it was garlic-y and taste-y. The pasta was cooked just right. Then I look around the table and the rest of our party each got a T-bone. They looked amazing. Perfectly cooked to a medium rare and shoe string potatoes piled sky high. I was freakin jealous. I'll definitely go back, but be more judicious with the menu the next time around. Hopefully I'll end up editing this review to give it an extra star. read more

This is my second visit with clients. Who have chosen this place both times. It is a local favorite. It is a nice place. Clean, efficient service and pleasant wait staff. Food is good and served quickly ( at lunch). At the most recent lunch I ordred a salad with grilled shrimp and was pleasantly surprised by the number of shrimp provided. Went here today with my friends for restaurant week. When we arrived we were seated immediately. The atmosphere is calming and romantic while there are candles at each table. The restaurant week menu was a variety of items however for the dessert portion of the restaurant week was a limited amount of items to choose from. But, I wanted to order a cappuccino however I was told that you can only choose coffee or tea and for the desserts, they didn't have tiramisu as an option. My husband made reservation at Terra Rustica for Mothers Day. We know restaurants are busy on Mother's Day so we were glad to have a reservation. We had a 6pm reservation, we got there are 5:50, waited about 10 minutes for the front staff to come and check us in. There were many others waiting to check in as well. We were told there would be a 45+ minute wait just to be seated, that was with the reservation and based on how busy they were we figured it would take even longer. WE HAD A RESERVATION. This is not a new restaurant, they should know how to take into account the holiday, and not overbook like this. We walked out and had a lovely dinner at Orfino's We will not be returning to them again. Try Orfino's it was delicious. read more

Absolutely terrible service. I understand that restaurants are understaffed during the pandemic. I am happy to be patient. This is not the first time that we have waited almost 2 hours for our meal. We decided to give them another chance a couple months after a very disappointing dinner. The service was the worst I have ever experienced anywhere. No acknowledgment that our drinks weren't refilled or that our meals took so long to come. We got there ton the early side too (around 6:00). We will obviously not be returning and hope to save someone else the headache. Please don't waste your time, there are so many great restaurants in Westchester. read more

I had a pizza Margarita. The crust was nice and crispy. The sauce was cooked down so much that the acid level was off the chart. I paid the price with terrible acid indigestion for 5 hours. If you have the least bit of acid reflux, stay away from their tomato sauce. read more

I used to love this place- great service and good food but it has gone WAY downhill over the past year. Manager and waiters are crabby and the food is meh....... Fettucine Vongole was great but now it's bland. Bread is cold and stale, frisole salad is anemic, substituted lettuce for the cooked escarole in the soup (because the manager made them do this when they ran out of escarole. Maybe a new chef? My family and I have been regulars here for many years, over 10 years now. We love the rustic look of the place and go here because it is local. We have had celebrations and many other occasions, sad and happy moments. However, todays experience has been a let down. I normally order the same dish and at times I am able to receive it as a lunch special which substitutes mixed vegetables for spinach. The lunch special includes an alcoholic beverage and appetizer in addition to your entree. Today the manager viewed the order and notified the waiter that substitutions were not acceptable. We were notified of this after we had received our complimentary drinks (that we did not touch) and soups. We were told that since substitutions were not allowed and since the drinks were already made and sent out, we would have to play an additional 7.99 per plate. An additional fee was not the issue for us, our problem was that they took the order without checking to see if it was okay, and then sending out food and drinks and telling us that we have to pay the full price after the fact. If we had known that there would be additional fees then we would have ordered the option on the regular menu because we normally do not drink. We eventually conversed with the manager and he acknowledged that the waiter had made a mistake however, he proceeded to go back and forth with us, explain that spinach is expensive and mentioned irrelevant stories about other customers and coupon usage which we had no idea that was a thing here. Instead of finding a solution that satisfies us both, he did not allow me to speak and explain my dissatisfaction. He continued to cut me off in front of my children and other customers. I decided to only pay for what had came out and he mentioned that the food was already being prepared. The major disappointing factor is that my family has supported their establishment various times and we have recommended it to others, and it was our waiters mistake. To receive this treatment was a huge shock. When working with people, professionalism and customer satisfaction are key and today we did not receive that. With that being said they lost a family of six, recommended customers or other potential customers that we would have bought with us for events. read more

We have been here a few times before, and have found the food is decent. However, it was not the case today, at least for my dish. I had the steak and sea scallops from the restaurant week menu. The steak was ok, a little chewy, but had decent flavor. However, the scallops were below average. I do not think they were cleaned properly, because it was sandy, and chewy. Hubby had the lasagna...the sauce was overly sweet, and too soft. Also, soda was $2.75 per glass, and majority of the glass was filled with ice. For $100 for 2 ppl, I expected better food, and service. Don't think we will be going back there. Too bad, this place used to be better. read more

We have been patrons of Terra Rustica for many years and the owner's nasty behavior today was SHOCKING. We had a 2:00pm Mother's Day reservation with my son and daughter in-law from out of town. When we called to make the reservation several weeks ago we specifically asked if they still would be serving brunch at that time. They said, brunch will be until 3:00. When we got there, the owner nastily said " We are only serving dinner now and no exceptions or special requests to our menu. We were looking forward to brunch, not dinner and we had to find another place to go to at the last minute on Mother's Day! Not only was it inconsiderate to change the brunch time "just like that", but the owner's attitude was so confrontational and mean, it was hard to believe. We will take our business elsewhere; owner has no regard for his customers - he is a nasty man! read more

Last night we arrived at the restaurant with our friends at 7:00 for our 7:00 reservation. The waiter told us they were running very behind. The restaurant was incredibly packed, every table was taken, at least 100% if not over. Guidelines show 75% for indoor dining due to Covid. We ordered our drinks and got them by 7:20 And immediately ordered our dinner entrées because he had said they were running late. By 9 o'clock we did not have our entrées yet which was absolutely inexcusable! We told them we did not want to wait any longer and asked for our check. That took another 10 to 15 minutes. We left at 9:15 without eating dinner. I will never return to this restaurant! read more
