Randomly stumbled upon this place after visiting the aquarium. The had unique food options that were delicious. We got the smashed burger and buffalo caesar wrap. Our server was great and recommended putting an egg on the burger which was soo good!

    Mother's Day brunch

I have tried to write this review several times but struggled with how to accurate share. We made reservations noon at Terrace for their Mothers' Day brunch. Upon arriving we were greeted at the curb by a valet and guided inside by an employee. He pointed to the restaurant. There were two employees at the small hostess stand who I told we had reservations. They did not ask for our names, but told us to go upstairs for the buffet. We walked up the stairs and saw some food at the top of the stairs, but no employees. We walked into an open room with tables and food. We noticed another family getting food and drinks, so we asked them if it was self seating. They shrugged and said they sat themselves. So we sat down and waited for an employee. After 10 minutes we got up and made our own drinks. After several more minutes made our plates. The Mother's Day brunch buffet ad said the main meat would be ordered from your table. After another 5 minutes we heard an employee walking a family upstairs. He seated them and brought them menus and asked for their drink order. We stopped the server and let him know we had not been greeted, served, or anything. He said ok, but did not return to us or send another employee for 10 minutes. He continued helping the other table. We noticed more and more employees walking around, refilling the buffet, and assisting customers. When he finally came over and asked what drinks we wanted I pointed out that we were there first and most of all not pleased. We ended up asking for the manager because I was ready to go. Very disappointed in their lack of service. The manager asked us to stay and said he'd "take care of us". The service improved and the food was good, but I feel MY Mother's Day meal was ruined by the first 45 minutes there. When we were ready to leave and received the check it was the full price. We had to ask for the manager again. He took the check and came back after comping my daughter's meal and discounting mine by 50%. I guess this was taking care of us. Needless to say I will not return to this restaurant. I suggest you save your time and energy by choosing a different restaurant for special occassions.

The food was full of flavor but it is expensive in relation to the portion size of the dishes. I started with an Arnold Palmer which was light, refreshing and tasty. I had the grilled fish tacos for my entree. The tacos were wonderful and had a perfect amount of flavor, crispness and a nice presentation. They do not come with any sides and that was disappointing considering the price. I finished with key lime pie which again had a colorful presentation. The flavor was light and tangy. I have had better but it was a comforting taste on my palette. I enjoyed my meal and the staff was very kind and polite.

Really nice place. Food was great. Very fresh. Service was good as well. The gulf red grouper was succulent. I highly recommend trying that.

Food and service were great. Restaurant was very small--but is a nicely arranged and decorated space. Server was knowledgeable and spot on.

The meal last time was good - however - portion sizes were some of the smallest I've seen. In addition, the entrees have NO SIDES - not a little potato or veggie - which I find disturbing because the average price of an entree is between $30-40 - sides are $10-$15. Get it? Okay enough of that. I ordered the Blackened Red Fish. I didn't finish it - I can't remember the last time I didn't finish a piece of fish that cost $40!! It had no flavor - even a slight fishy taste! I was in disbelief! Luckily, my partner has ordered the Crispy Haddock - which she had the last time. It was amazing! Last time - the size of the haddock was as big as a McDonalds fish filet - there's a picture attached! This time, it looked like a piece of beer battered fish I would get in England !! It was as large as any I've seen - the beer batter coating was fried perfectly and the haddock inside was as tender and tasty as you'd expect from this classic white fish!! She gave me half of her order - and that was my meal!! We also ordered the thick chips (fries) that were very good - and the Hush Puppies. I'm not sure why the Optimist increased the size of their Crispy Haddock, but that's the dish you should order!!!

The space is clean but not sterile: exposed brick, warm wood, and a bar that glows like it wants you to linger. *The food* skips the tired "burgers and mac" checklist. Think short rib agnolotti with smoked corn puree, charred broccolini with miso-garlic butter, and a fried chicken sandwich that somehow stays crisp under a jalapeño honey glaze. Portions are generous without being wasteful, and everything tastes intentional like the kitchen tested it 10 times before it hit the menu. *The cocktails are the real flex.* The menu changes seasonally, but the bar team leans into flavor over gimmicks. I tried the *Oaxacan Old Fashioned* with mezcal, mole bitters, and orange peel that's torched tableside. Smoky, slightly sweet, zero gimmick. My friend went for the *Cucumber Basil Gimlet* and said it tasted like summer in a glass. No sugary syrup bombs here. Bartenders actually explain what's in your drink if you ask, and they're good at steering you if you're unsure. Service hit the sweet spot between attentive and relaxed. Water refills showed up without hovering, and the server knew the menu well enough to call out what's spicy, what's rich, and what's worth splitting. It feels like a place locals will become regulars at, but it's good enough to bring out-of-town friends to. Creative without being precious, tasty without being safe. Sorry I didn't take pictures,
