The thing I was most impressed with by this cute little diner was how clean everything was. You might guess by the looks of things that they had their grand opening yesterday! I stopped in to check the place out and ordered the best chocolate milkshake I've gotten in Brooklyn so far. Large, thick, and wonderful, at a reasonable price. Makes me shake my head at burger joints in Manhattan. The servers were all nice, and paid us attention even though they were clearly very busy with orders from outside. I moved into the area about a year ago and was so excited about finding a coffee shop that has diner food. At first everything was great with my orders. Now they have become careless and messy and don't pay attention to any sort of detail. I am no longer ordering from them. The eggs were soggy and not egg whites. It has just gotten worse and worse. I ordered well done bacon and it was undercooked and soggy. After several attempts and hoping it was just that particular order. I have now given up. I spoke to someone who claims to be the manager, he told me his name was "papi". I am pretty sure that was not the manager and he also battled me over the phone. This place has become a joke. When I called to let them know, after passing me off to 5 different people, they were rude about it, nor did they offer me a credit for my wasted $30. The food here is delicious and the menu covers practically every type of meal of the day (and night). Prices are very fair as well. Delivery from Terrace Coffee Shop is also on point; my food always arrives a half hour before the estimated time and everything is still in one piece and my milkshake still cold. When this place first opened we came here all the time. The food was great, service friendly and fast and prices fair. We were so excited to have this place nearby and frequented their place almost every weekend. However, the last several experiences have left us with a sour taste in our mouths. We went in for breakfast a few weeks ago and found ourselves waiting almost an hour for our food. When it finally arrived, one order was incorrect and all of the eggs seemed overcooked. Our bill for two adults and two small children for breakfast was over $50. Not horrible, but you start to get used to what breakfast costs when the four of us go out...it isn't usually $50. Especially when you aren't very happy with any of the food you consumed even though you were starving by the time it finally came to the table! Today we ordered Terrace lunch delivery through GrubHub. One tuna melt with American cheese and one egg salad sandwich came to $12. That already seemed steep to me, but I went with it. Then I receive a call from the restaurant saying the melt doesn't actually come with fries, as it had said it did on the menu when I ordered it. He told me I could pay an extra $3.50 (on top of the $6.50 I already paid for the sandwich) if I wanted fries. I declined that, already frustrated that he wasn't simply honoring what was written on the site and then choosing to take up the discrepancy with GrubHub later. Instead, he was intent on me, the customer, picking up the slack from their mistake. (Side note: I then contacted GrubHub and they kindly contacted Terrace Coffee Shop to update their menu so that it was correct for customers AND offered us a small credit for the inconvenience. Thanks, GrubHub!) When the food arrived, there was barely any tuna on the melt. (and no side, of course) The egg salad sandwich was also lacking in the egg salad department (Maaaaybe there was 1/2 an egg inside? Maybe.) It did come with the (tiny) ramekin of coleslaw, but was missing the pickle it said it came with - my son's favorite part. All in all, this was huge disappointment #2 in as many weeks. I don't know why everything seems to have gone downhill there, but I hope they can turn it back around and return to the satisfying and delicious local coffee shop we were all so excited to have in the neighborhood! read more

I ordered food from them today .. and let me profess my hate for this establishment ... First of all I've been calling them all day getting different answers from everyone ... Customer service in my experience with them was horrific ... Second the reason I called was because of my eggs were green I was sick to my stomach when I noticed not only that, I had only one piece of bacon on my sandwich ... I ordered a scrambled egg sandwich and they gave me something different ... I didn't even mention it because an egg is an egg but it was green inside and out ... It freaked me out because I couldn't even imagine what was I could have eaten that was rotten ... I am now stuck with a pounding headache from trying to reason with them and a nauseated stomach from the food ... The owner knew I was over 2 miles away and said "if you want your money come get it" I expressed how I had no car or anyway to get there ... It was 30 mins on foot ... And after all I didn't walk to them to get the food so why would I have to walk back for my money ... It wasn't fair ..... I'm extremely upset and I guess I've lost out on 20 dollars ... But it's restaurants like this that makes me afraid to order again .. To be swindled out of my money without a second thought ... Please be careful ordering from this so called "establishment" I urge you to go else where before trying them as this is my last time eating out ... Scarred from a horrific and disgusting ordering experience and its disgusting owner !! great addition to our little zone. before this place, closest cafe was crossroads which I dig for the baked goods (when fresh) & daily soup but otherwise limited food options. TERRACE COFFEE SHOP just opened last month. these brothers are hauling ass to get their place noted for good eats & friendly neighborhood establishment. it has (IMO) both these things. for small joint in rather residential hood, they have a pretty impressive FULL diner menu. we've eaten in three times and ordered delivery once- for a place that's only been around for a month, amount of times frequented speaks for itself. food is simple but well prepared, well seasoned, quick friendly service and affordable. we've ordered egg dishes, burritos, wraps, fries, stuffed potatoes & filet of sole. I've liked everything I've ordered except for stuffed potato which could have been a little softer and had a little more melted cheese. I especially appreciate the friendly service & fact that I feel totally comfortable dropping in for lunch, babe in tow & they immediately grab me a highchair. their burrito is especially tasty & they will make the 'terrace burrito' vegetarian if you ask- spanish rice, beans, fresh guac, lettuce, tomato & they'll add cheese instead of chicken for $6.95 + comes with small mixed spring greens w light vinagrette. smokes the $8 burrito at clemens with dried rice that has been sitting for hours on end- terrace coffee shop spanish rice is the real deal! coffee is pretty good too- don't know what kind they use but it's rich & robust- no burnt diner coffee taste. bonus: free delivery within the hood! We have ordered here for years at least once a week, today we ordered online and when the order came one sandwich was completely wrong, okay no problem called them to ask them to please bring another. 45 mins later (were just two blocks away) he comes in with the sandwich and has the audacity to tell me he won't put the sandwich in my hand until I go get the other one out of the garbage and give it back to him. I told him to leave. I'm sorry but I've never seen anything like this and this is not the way to treat your loyal customers. The BEST BURGERS in the area, hands down. As long as you understand that you will have trouble picking up the burger due to all the meat and toppings, you will love them too. Just about everything on the menu ranges from "ok" to "awesome", but you can usually guess which stuff will be on the lower end. (Things like chicken fingers, wings, etc, things you can buy in big frozen bags, those things are what I'm talking about. The fries, which rock if you like them crispy, are the exception.) Some surprises: the small selection of mexican dishes on the back of the menu is fantastic, I hope they expand it in the future. The pasta dishes are surprisingly good, especially when the main cook is there. Also, this place seems obsessed with Avacado, so you'll never get a slice that isn't nice and fresh on any of their sandwiches. Finally, while the philly cheese steak is nothing like its namesake, it IS fantastic and massive. Order it if you want 2 meals worth of food. As others have noted, the staff sometimes charges the wrong price, forgets something, etc, but they've recently hired some new people (or they've always been there and I just never saw them), and already the kinks have started to be worked out. Overall, the food is great, especially the burgers, the staff is friendly, and the prices are moderate. Glad to have it around the block. read more

I would strongly advise against ordering from this place. My story - I ordered my food at 10:21 this morning (a Windsor Juice and a Garden Omelette). Delivery came an hour later, and the driver said they didn't have the juice so he refunded me the cost in cash (I paid online). Cool, no problem. When I opened the container with my omelette however, there were pieces of ham on and in it. I called the restaurant, and they said they'd send me another. Again, no problem. Mistakes happen. But then about another hour passes and no delivery, so I call and ask what's going on, and let them know that if its not on the way already I would prefer a refund at this point. The manager tells me I'll have it in five minutes (it ended up being closer to 15min). When the new delivery person arrived, I gave him the first omelette to take back as proof that I wasn't running game before he left. I thought I heard a thud after I closed the door but I didn't pay it any attention. When I sat down to dig into my new omelette, what did I find? HAM. AGAIN. So I put on my shoes, run to get my keys and then open my door to see if I can catch the driver. Before I can take two steps, I see the first omelette container with the first screwed up omelette that I gave to the delivery guy on the ground in front of my apartment. He didn't even have the decency to wait until he got outside to throw it away! He just threw it down on the floor! Two screwed up orders over 2+ hours and a less than gracious delivery guy. So happy about Terrace Coffee Shop - we needed a place like this in Windsor Terrace! Our only option was Crossroads which is overpriced, slow and unfriendly service - all of which the Terrace Coffee Shop is the opposite. Friendly service and great food! We have had breakfast to go and lunch inside. The breakfast sandwiches are delicious and the wraps are great. The Terrace wrap with chicken, cheese, sundried tomatos and eggplant was an amazing lunch. I wish these brothers the best of luck and we will be in there often! read more

I've lived around the corner from this place for almost two years, and I just tried it for the first time a few weeks ago. Boy, what a surprise! I think the first thing I noticed was how absolutely clean everything is! The counters, the tables, the grill, the outside patio area...all super clean! The service is quick, the ingredients are fresh (I see them carry fresh ingredients in almost every morning I stop by there) the service is super friendly and pretty fast. Another great thing about this place are the prices. I've never paid more than $10 for breakfast with coffee and juice. You just can't beat the prices here! I love this place and I hate that I've wasted almost two years not going here! read more

I came here on New Year's Day for something to help with my hangover and ordered a patty melt with waffle fries. The burger was HUGE but really tasted and perfectly medium rare, and the onions on the melt were very very yummy. The waffle fries were supposed to be "spicy" waffle fries; they definitely weren't spicy but they were still really good. I've been eating at this coffee shop since it opened up about 3 yrs ago. The food was always good but lately it's been declining. Today, when I entered the first thing I see are french fries all over the floor underneath the back table and debris underneath another table. In short, the floors were filthy! I told myself, EWWWW!! someone needs to clean that up. Then I looked over at the counter and there she was, the waitress, doing NOTHING but twiddling her fingers.
