Whether it's delivery or eating in, this place is my go-to spot. I've never had any problems with them, ever. I feel you get a lot for your buck and I enjoy that they have an avocado-filled menu. One of my favorite things to order is their breaded chicken wrap. Their fries are on point and crunchy. The salads are huge! I've mostly had, and enjoyed the Cobb salad and the Terrace salad. Burgers are very good. They have alternatives like turkey burgers and turkey bacon (for those who don't want red meat). The deluxe comes with lettuce, tomato, a pickle and coleslaw. I enjoy the coleslaw. For breakfast, I recently had florentine eggs Benedict. Holy crap that was a huge breakfast that came with yummy home fries on the side. Couldn't eat that all either. For deliveries, they fill your bag with salt, black pepper, utensils, ketchup and napkins. That always deserves a plus in my book. What if you don't wanna do dishes that day? Or ran out of ketchup at home? Or you're not at home? Ya know? In general, they have big portions, good tasting food, and are in budget. The delivery is timely, as well. The cafe is small, the service is attentive, and it's located in a quietly cute neighborhood. One thing, though, is that I wish they were a 24-hr spot or, at least, open late. Terrace Coffee Shop is really, solidly, consistently SO GOOD. We've eaten breakfast, lunch, and dinner here many times. We're not delivery people for Terrace, because it's a nice walk over for us, so maybe the complainers have legitimate beefs with that. But every dish I've ever ordered from them has been hands-down delicious. Oatmeal pancakes? Awesome. Patty melt? Score! Huevos con salsa? Chilaquiles? Onion rings? Smoothies? (Oh, that orange-like-a-creamcicle deliciousness...) Banana pancakes, omlettes, "regular" breakfast--make sure to try their multigrain toast and fresh-squeezed OJ--- spinach salads, chicken salad, cinnamon-raisin french toast, I mean *everything* has been as tasty as you could wish. Don't listen to the complainers. Give this place a chance. And maybe don't order stuff with avocados for delivery. Avocado is gross no matter who delivers it, in my experience. read more

Meh. I ordered a simple ham and cheese omelet w/ whole grain bread and a side of avocado from terrace coffee shop. When my food arrived, there was no avocado, no knife or fork for the food and no jelly for my toast (pretty standard items for breakfast foods). When I opened the container, my omelette had onions, peppers and tomatoes in addition to the ham and cheese. This was not at all what I ordered. I checked the online menu again and the ham and cheese omelette should only have ham and cheese. I usually ignore a small mistake, but this all added up so I decided to give them a call, just to let them know about the mix up and keep it in mind for future orders. The guy who answered the phone told me I did not pay for the avocado so he couldn't provide it. I told him that he could charge me for it as he has my cc info, but he said he couldn't. Not sure why but whatever. I dropped the avocado issue. When I mentioned all the extras that I didn't order in my omelette, he put me on hold for a few minutes. He returned to the phone and said "my chef said he made your omelette with only ham and cheese". I didn't even know how to respond to this except to say that it isn't true and I have a colorful omelette filled with all these extras that I did not ask for and did not want. I almost wanted to snap a pic and send it to him but this felt like it was dragging and I really just wanted to inquire about what happened to the side of avocado for my order. I finally mentioned in the end (because why not at this point?) that there was no fork, no knife and no jelly for the toast. He completely ignored it. To their credit, he did offer to send over a new ham and cheese only omelette (after insisting that this is what his cook made the first time around) and I thanked him and told him that it isn't necessary and I just wanted them to read the order more carefully for next time. After all of that the food was a bit bland. Not sure about those high reviews on Seamless. Maybe I just ordered on a truly off day? i have been to this place many times over many years. They have always been great. The thing about a diner/coffee shop is, you tend to go looking for a restaurant. Italian, Chinese, Indian? You know? So going to a diner isn't your first thought. But I have to say, the food here is great. I pretty much always get the fried chicken. While the pieces are kind of small, the flavor is wonderful and the meat is tender. It's a crispy honey tasting crust. Gotta love the fries. When I order for delivery the fries and the chicken is as crispy as you could hope for. The salads are as fresh as can be. Even the salad that comes with the entrees. (see photo). I have ordered food from many palces and you always get a sad salad with not a lot of exciting things in it. But this is crunchy and fresh with colorful veggies. There home fries as well. Not just greasy potatoes that you typically get when ordering breakfast. Colorful and delicious. I often order the corned beef hash so I can use it in breackfast the next day. Great stuff. Now they have hash browns. You know the shaped ones you pick up with your hand. When you walk in the place, the first thing you see is their selection of wonderful desserts. I am usually too full to go for it, but when I am with at least one other person, I have been able to sample the desrts by splitting it with others. The Mexican stuff is new to me, and I haven't tried it. I am more into diner food when I go there. My wife has enjoyed the pastas, and my sister and niece always do the burger and fries. The fries are wonderful and the burger is about what you expect from a diner instead of a burger joint. If I could change one thing, it would be to give the place a make over. Update it and make the bathrooms nicer. I think they would boost their business if they did. Be sure to try them out. read more

Terrace Coffee Shop is a great spot when you can't make up your mind. They literally have everything on their menu...it's a bit excessive but I do love choices. Also what's not to love when it's just across the street from me? They do breakfast, lunch and dinner. I usually order out for dinner and have dined in for brunch. They're nachos are pretty amazing and you get ALOT. I've got all the different choices and would say the Terrace Nachos are the best. The quesadilla is pretty good too and always get a Mexican Coke to go with! For brunch I had the waffles with a side of bacon, which turned into a side of everything but the kitchen sink! I got 2 sausages, ham, fried eggs and hash browns! Don't worry, I wasn't charged for any of those extras just the bacon! Sounds great to me! This place is really small and the staff always seems to be a little frazzled so be aware it may take awhile for you to be seated during peak hours and there's only 1 waiter who typically serves everyone so the service is a little slow. So i just recieved an order that i placed through amazon prime now..mostly because i thought i had a credit. I have ordered from Terrace cafe several times(always through the restaurant directly) and have eaten in the diner a few timea as well. THe Food we received was not described on the menu. I paid $5 for 3 peices of under cooked bacon. The wrap did not have most of the ingredients listed in the description and not on a pita but a crappy soggy tortilla The toast was not toasted and the fries were gross. I wonder if if the order was so bad because i got it through smazon and did not call the restaurant directly. If I could give this place ZERO STARS, I would! I have ordered from them online several times and they have miserably screwed up my order. Point in case is this morning. I ordered food and iced coffee and when I received my order, it was completely WRONG! And my iced coffee was not made the way it was supposed to be made and they don't carry soy milk. I ordered waffles with a side of strawberries and bacon. I didn't get the strawberries (which I paid FOR!) and my food came completely cold. When I called to ask for them to redeliver they would only deliver milk and strawberries even though my food was cold. Then I asked for a refund and they refused! This place is completely missed managed and they are racists because this is the 3rd time they have horribly mixed up my order and my friend said she received food poisoning from them after she ordered a burger. DO NOT GO OR ORDER FROM THIS PLACE, PLEASE! They don't know what they are doing and when you complain to them, they make it a point to antagonize you int he future if you order from them. This is a diner with a twist--a muy picante twist. As such, it offers better and cheaper food than the wretched though more trafficked Mexican joint and diner on Prospect Park West (Clemen's and Windsor Cafe, respectively). I tried the Terrace Burrito, which was a massive soft flour tortilla filled with shredded white meat chicken marinated in chipotle sauce with sauteed onions, guacamole, rice and refried beans and a side salad for only $6.95. The fresh tomatillo salsa served on the side was amazing. I went in here slightly skeptical of Mexican food at a coffee shop, but I was pleasantly surprised. On another occasion, I was a little less impressed with the Terrace Omelet with guacamole, cheese, and chopped bacon. Although the portion was ginormous and came with heaps of potatoes and tortilla chips (enough for two people or two meals), I didn't like that the cooked egg was used as a tortilla/wrap with all of the toppings rolled up inside--I prefer them to be sauteed with and integrated into the egg. Next time I'll try the hopefully more manageable two eggs any style. Service is speedy for both dine-in and takeout, and they accept credit cards here. read more

This would be the only place I would ever want to give 0 stars . How this place is still open is beyond me . They need to do the right thing and let this place go! Sell it. Give someone else a chance to sell food that would actually be of quality and edible. Your wondering what's so bad? Here's a list to hopefully prevent anyone new from trying this disgusting establishments food. 1)extremely poor quality food. Chicken was hard, rubbery, cheap, old and completely inedible. They charged $12.95 for their version of the New York grilled sandwich. 2) Bread was soggy, oily and tasted again- old. They most definitely cut corners on their food. I would be surprised if this was expired old chicken and oil we ate tonight. 3 Fries were made with the worst oil which made them so hard to like. How do you screw up fries? I will tell you how; old potatoes and oil. Eeewww. Even xtra salt and ketchup could NOT disguise the flavor . 4) wilted lettuce, tasteless tomato and even the raw onion were gross and slimy. Went in with very low expectations, was pleasantly surprised. The coffee shop is in one of those cursed locations, it's across the street from a small park but still low on foot traffic, parking isn't great. Was formerly "My Hero", but now it's a standard diner with some Mexican additions. Cheap prices and huge portions, super friendly service and free delivery, big selection in a tiny space. Everything we had was very simply done and surprisingly good. Turkey wrap was good, sweet and normal potato fries were undersalted but good, waffles are waffles. The chicken burrito is simple, rice, avocado, cilantro, moist chunks of chicken, a good salsa verde. The eggs benedict were the best I've had in a diner. Eggs were poached well, the hollandaise was bright yellow, super thick, and delicious. Home fries have big chunks of potato and pepper with really nice brown crusty bits. read more

Save yourself and do not order from here! I ordered French toast bacon and eggs as well as coffee milk and an English muffin. The French toast and eggs came mashed together and the coffee and milk were both spilled in the bottom of the bag! There is no way the delivery man didn't realize the cups had dumped. The also didn't send syrup or butter for the French toast. We finally stopped in today on Mother's Day after saying for months we should try the place. I have a friend up near Boston who judges diners and coffee shops by two things, the coffee and how long it takes to get water. Well, the coffee is excellent and comes right away and the water likewise appears without you having to ask. Most important is that the family who runs the coffee shop really wants you to enjoy your meal and the coffee comes until you tell them to stop! We split and order of pancakes and a feta and tomato omelet. The pancakes were average and the omelet was pretty good. The home fries were a bit bland and even after sending them back to be cooked more they still were not extra well done but I understand being afraid of overcooking them and then having the customer complain they were burned. Prices are reasonable (our breakfast included fresh squeezed orange juice) and the atmosphere is quite cozy. In short, 5 for service, hospitality and coffee and 3.5 for food but I need to try some other dishes such as the waffles that looked delicious! Visited this morning and it still is very good. No free OJ this morning but 5 stars for the bathroom...I wish my apartment was a nice! read more

After reading other reviews about how amazing Terrace Coffee's burgers were, I found myself rather disappointed. My girlfriend and I both decided to order from here getting their deluxe Terrace Burger. For starters the meat tasted cheap, like it was bought from a corner store market. It lacked flavor, simple as that. We ordered bacon with our burgers as well which was over-cooked and burnt. Another problem I had with these "amazing burgers" is that we both ordered Medium Rare, hers came perfectly however, my burger was much more on the rare side. Sorry but when you can taste the blood from the meat, it's not a good burger. Their fries were sub-standard as well. No seasoning at all and were completely mushy like they had been sitting around pre-cooked for awhile. Only things I found myself enjoying about this "amazing burger" is the fact that it had good onions and a lot of cheese. The thing I found real nice was how thick the juicy the patty was, but it wasn't enough to make this an "amazing burger" Would I give this place a second chance? Possibly. When I called to complain, the person I spoke to said he made the drink himself which made me even more uncomfortable as he clearly made a HUGE mistake. I have ordered food from here several times and I normally love it. After todays experience I will literally never order from here again. I ordered the $10 eggs benedict. When it arrived the eggs were so overcooked that they were basically like hardboiled eggs. I called the restaurant and the only thing they would do is send new eggs. Happy to say that the eggs were completely cooked, the pancakes were delicious, and my coffee was wrapped extra carefully. (Although just for the record, if you're making Challah french toast and you operate right near Midwood and Borough Park, you should be able to get actual Challah!). Ordered breakfast again this morning just to be sure: all the ingredients were correct and cooked, and coffee was once again delivered securely. Classic diner fare done right. The family owning the place is Mexican so their Mexican food is delicious and stands up to plenty of stand alone Mexican places. The terrace nachos (basically loaded up nachos topped with tinga de pollo) is not the healthiest choice but delicious to share with friends and family. I would be careful about some of the ntrees- I got the Chicken Marsala and it wasn't bad per se but it weirdly came on a bed of yellow rice like you'd serve iwht rice and beans. But get breakfast or salad or a sandwich or Mexican and gigantic portions of deliciousness await. read more

I've been here twice. Both times I got the Huevos Rancheros. The first time I got it, it was messy but tasty. And there was at least some use to the tortillas that came with the dish. The second time around, I felt like the guys at the kitchen just wanted to race and compete against each other to see who can push orders out the quickest. I was sitting right there, I saw them laughing and dogging one another about he's done and what not. I don't care that they were competing on who pushed plates the fastest. What I do care about is that my dish looked like a mess. The tortillas were buried. And there was pretty much no use for it. What's the point? I can't even grab hold of it. I was able to the first time I was here. The taste the second time around was also not as good. The service, to be honest, sucks. Both times that I've been here, the staff did not ask to refill coffee. Isn't this a common courtesy for a "coffee shop?" Every breakfast spot that I've been to in my life, refilled coffee for their customers. I stuck my empty cup out on the table. The guy slips a check on the table and just kept on walking on instead. My fiancee was the nicer soul. She wanted to give them the normal amount of tip even though they treated us poorly on both visits. I told her, hell no. Tips are earned. The menu is extensive and the prices, like it has been mentioned in many previous reviews, is reasonable. It's quick, the place is clean, and the service is friendly. When it comes to the food... you get what you pay for. You ask for a Grilled Chicken Club, you get a Grilled Chicken Club. There's no frills, bells, and whistles. But when I consider everything else, location, service, and price... It's not hard for me to keep coming back. read more
