I saw this place pop-up on Yelp with great reviews and I thought: Territory? Tapas? Never heard of it! It's located inside the Embassy Suites hotel, the one next to Qdoba. I went for lunch, and I think they may have been under-staffed. The lone server there was incredibly friendly, I just didn't see her all that much. There was a table of 8 ahead of me and it took a while (~30min) to get my food. My food wasn't that fancy. I got a turkey sandwich and some French onion soup (I settled on this because the lunch menu was pretty generic). It was A-OK, but I could probably have made a better sandwich at home. The soup was lukewarm. I wish they could've brought the soup out first, would've made the wait more bearable. I'll probably come back for dinner to re-evaluate. For lunch, they're hard to recommend.

We ate here while staying at the Embassy suites. Our server was super nice and quick. We had some steak bites that were on the appetizer menu and they were good. Kids liked their chicken strips. It was a good meal.

Good service, food just average. Halibut fish and chips. Was hoping for better being in Alaska!

Was hoping for better food! Halibut fish and chip fell a little short being in Alaska!

Good food and if you stay at the hotel, the omelettes are the best in the morning for complementary breakfast

For me, coming here in the future my place will be at the bar with appetizers. Bar environment is 5/5 As far as the rest goes I think the food is good, not spectacular. 3/5. In the future I think I'd come for an appetizer and a couple of drinks and that's it. I felt the veal was tough on both ordered plates and potentially I would have preferred chicken. That being said the sauce was great. The grappa sauce had amazing flavor and the Marsala sauce also had great flavor. Plus the funghi appetizer was great with the bread. All of it was enjoyable enough for a return visit. This spot has very friendly staff, they move at a classic Alaska pace. Meant for sitting down and enjoying the company of someone you're eating with but not designed for getting in and out the door quickly. Come with the intention to get things as they come and enjoy the ride.

I was looking for a quiet place to eat good food, have a beer, and zone out for a minute. Sorrento's at lunch is the spot.I happened to be the only dine-in customer, so I basically got first-class service, which I have a feeling happens no matter how busy they are. The place is clean and a little dated, but in the absolute best, nostalgic way. It feels like an old-school neighborhood restaurant that has earned the right not to reinvent itself every five years. No trendy gimmicks, no loud music, no rush -- just a comfortable place to take a load off in the middle of a busy day and actually enjoy lunch. And the food fit the place perfectly: simple, quick and flavorful. Not a lot of frills, but that's the thing about consistent, old-school eateries -- they don't need them. I had the lamb gyro with a fresh salad, and it was exactly what I wanted. Fresh, satisfying and just plain good. This was my first time at Sorrento's, which seems almost ridiculous considering how long they've been part of Anchorage. Now that I've discovered lunch, I guess the next order of business is coming back hungry and tackling a big pasta dinner. Great food, great service, cold beer, zero pretension. Perfect. Try it for lunch!

While we were in Anchorage, Sorrentos came up as a suggestion for an Italian restaurant to go to…read moreand the ratings were extremely good (4-5) so being a seasoned yelper, writing many reviews, I wanted to give Sorrentos a try. The restaurant has a nice set up with tables a booth's. We were a party of 4and our server was Marylou. Marylou s great handling our table making suggestions and with her timing of our food. We ordered fried calamari appetizer which was good. It wasn't a large dish and there were no Calamari "rings" on our plate, only strips which was a little surprising, but we enjoyed them. We also each got a nice salad before our dinners. I ordered the Ceaser salad which was delicious. I asked Marylou for a small (3) amount of anchovies to put on the salad. She came with a dish with I guess a can full of them. Not her fault, she stated that she had to make it a side order do that was hire it was done. No problem, I love anchovies and since they were there, I was not going to let them go to waste!!! lol! Dinner then was broght to the table, here is where the review is lowered to 3 stars. My wife and friends ordered this chicken dish (sorry don't recall the name, I think it was Marsala) and it was delicious and a nice serving. My friend also got the chicken parm which he enjoyed. However, my order was nothing like I was expecting. When I go to an Italian restaurant, I usually order Veal Parmigiana. This is my go to favorite. When my veal arrived, it looked totally not what I was expecting. The menu says veal scallopini lightly breaded and fried. Scallopini is a thing cut of meat. What I got was 2 ground veal patties (like hamburger) covered in sauce and topped with cheese. I started to eat it and immediately safe that this was not veal cutlet (scallopini) and ground veal. For the price I was paying, I was not going to accept this so I sent the dish back. Marylou was so nice about it and took care of me without a problem. She was kind of surprised about the dish as well. She gave me reasons why it was served the way it was but I will not share them here. If the menu says Scallopini (cutlet) then that is what should be served. Don't change it up on the customer hoping to pass it off as a Veal Parmigiana dish. Maybe being from NY I have a different expectation about this but I don't think that is the case here. I ordered the lasagna instead which was ok. Again, our service was great and the food was good as well except for my dish and this is why I am giving them 3 stars, which I rarely give.

The family that owns and operates this gem is Greek and they are not only amazing cooks, but they care about their community!! I have been there eating several times this winter and obviously homeless people would come to the door and be given water, hot soup, half a sandwich, etc. that just made me love this place more. Now to the food. First of all I had the meatball sub which was not only delicious but super filling. The meat was very well seasoned, and the fresh basil just made the marinara pop even more, add the freshly shaved Parmesan cheese and you've got something special. The homemade bread puts this thing into overdrive! Crispy on the outside, light, delicate but not falling apart and heavy enough to hold together all that deliciousness without being filling like you just ate a large pizza. Now to the ridiculous tomato basil soup. I love the clam chowder but the tomato basil is my favorite. Savory, full of flavor, smooth, creamy and not greasy. This in my opinion is the perfect pairing to the meatball sub. You're welcome! The customer service here is amazing too just like the owners and the food. You will always be greeted by a smiling face, and treated like family. You will not regret stopping here. I've eaten the Meatball sub, The Philly, the lasagna and The Gyro ( lamb and chicken) all have been 10 out of 10. The ambiance is like a neighborhood dinner with a small dining room. You will love it!

Both are packed with flavor. Whether ordering in or ordering to go, keep in mind it takes quite a while--almost 10 to 15 mins--for the staff to make your sandwich, so I wouldn't recommend that you stop here in you're in a hurry because you're not going to get it out fast. In this case, call ahead about 30 mins or so if you're picking up. The prices are a little high, but it's worth the price for the quality of the food you're getting, which I can't say for most restaurants in the present era (2020s for those that are reading this in the 2030s and 2040s, if this platform still exists then lol!) Either way, the quality is HIGH and the flavor factor? HIGH! The Classic Piadina is very fresh tasting and comes with greens. It only comes in one size, so it's a little small for me. Still delicious! The Nonni is a pretty large sandwich, if you're getting the full sandwich. The onions combine with the meat enhances the flavors. The building that Originale is in presents itself as a very quaint and relaxed lunch spot with bright colors and large windows. It's a place you can go to sit and talk with friends. And the focaccia- fresh, herby, and perfectly balanced in thickness. It hugged the fillings just right without stealing the show. Also, the tomatoes- I did not expect them to be so buttery and delicious. I may have paused mid-bite to appreciate them. Yes, I'm that person. As a die-hard cheese lover, the little bonus cube of cheese on the side felt like a tiny gift--like the sandwich was giving me a wink and saying, "Hey, I see you." Originale, I'll be back. Besides this, everything else was great so I did not deduct any stars. Let me explain. We were a party of 4 and just arriving from NY, we were hungry. We walked in at about 4:30-4:45. We asked for a table for 4. We were told the wait will be over an hour. They asked if we would like to sit at the bar area, same food and probably would get service quicker. I said sure. We both want to look for a table and there were none, so I just told the staff that we will go to the bar area and wait while having a drink. We were given a buzzer. We came across a Maria bar table with a nice couple sitting there, and 2 open seats. I asked if we could sit there and they said of course. They then Deb moved over 2 seats arguing gave us 4 seats. I was do thankful for them being so nice that I picked up their bar tab. I noticed that the dining area has at least 5 open tables for 4 and 1 for 6+. I went up to the desk and told them this. I was told they were fit reservations and I couldn't have a table. Long story short, 45 min went guy and there were still open tables, I E's not happy and let them know. By this time though, our waiter Marco cans over to us and said he would take care of us, which he did. I told the front desk to forget our table and have them the buzzer back. ** My review starts*** Marco was a great waiter taking excellent care of us. We had a great time with Marco and our new friends next to us. I ordered the halibut stuffed with crab which was outstanding. My wife ordered the salmon which was delicious as well, I particularly enjoyed the crispy skin of the salmon, yum!!! Our friends ordered the fried calamari which he enjoyed and his wife had the salmon over a Ceaser salad. To finish it off, I had to get the lava cake for dessert.....hey, why not, I'm in vacation lol! Everything was great, the food delicious, Super Marco s the best!!! Great service and a great time. Just a shame it didn't start off on the right foot. Lesson: make a reservation!!!!!
