I cannot imagine there are many homeowners who are experts when it comes to HVAC systems. I know…read morefor a fact that I am not, it was with great trepidation that I started our search for a new system since our 40 year old system was on it's last legs, and another Sacramento summer was at hand. So I reached out to three local companies, all of whom came highly recommended, for proposals to replace the entire system, duct work included. I then put all three into ChatGPT and here is the one comment about Phoenix Energy Solutions' proposal that was the most salient. "Those are signs that the contractor is paying attention to installation quality rather than simply replacing equipment." The price was also very competitive and when the entire scope of the proposals where compared, it was the best from a cost perspective. Of course a proposal on paper, is just that, words on paper. Now it's time to see if the work stands up to the words. Yes, yes they did. Five stars here. Communication was clear, scheduling the job was prompt. The job took two days and our new Amana 3-ton 17+ SEER Variable Heat Pump system was installed and working beautifully. Now, keep in mind this is a very intrusive process, but Micah and his crew were conscientious and careful in our home. I can say without hesitation, Micah and Phoenix Energy Solutions checks all the boxes. Knowledgable - Check Thorough - Check Competitive - Check Communication - Check Honest - Check Quality - Check

I first used Phoenix Energy Solutions back in 2013 when they came and turned a 'must replace your…read morewhole unit (that was then about 9yo)' into a well-explained $600 job. Quote from my original review: ******** "At some point, we will need a bigger unit to accomodate our actual square footage, but for now, the house is cool, comfortable (it runs warmer on the kid's side, but well below the danger point of when we didn't have AC-I used fans and kept the kids in the master suite with me). And when we DO replace our unit-I don't need Yelp-I'll just call Phoenix Energy Systems and you should too! PS-this is the service that made me join Yelp, so I can give Rich and PES 5 stars (and not 10 as others have noted)." *********** Since then, I've been on PES REST plan (their annual maintenance contract for 1 AC and 1 heater/furnace tuneup per year). I don't review routine service calls, but go ahead and imagine about 3 dozen 5 star reviews for keeping my systems running and functional as they met and then exceeded normal life for these units. Well, all good things must come to an end. The AC sealant gave out, flooding my attic and into my master bathroom. After much consideration, I came to realize that it was time to replace the AC, and possibly the equally old and increasingly troublesome heater. So Micah came over and presented several options and discussed which ones were SMUD rebate eligible. I went with the bundled (and SMUD rebate eligible) AC + Heat Pump combo. Micah and his son (already an industry veteran and very capable) arrived bright and early (e.g. right on time) and 10 hours later - old units removed, new units installed. The big surprise was *nothing* - e.g. none of the clunks grinds, whooshes, strained sounds of the old system. Just nice cool air evenly distributed throughout my 3/2 bungalow. The old system kept the master suite at temperature, but ran hot summers and cold winters in the kid's rooms at the other end of the house. Remember folks, true power doesn't roar - it whispers. And of course, thank you Phoenix Energy Solutions for fair pricing and top notch professional HVAC services.

It's now been over two years since our solar system was installed in Sept 2023. The installation itself went smoothly and the team worked hard to make sure everything was completed in time to meet the PG&E application deadline. Everyone I worked with was professional, friendly, and easy to communicate with. After the installation, I had a few questions and the team was quick to respond and genuinely helpful. I really appreciate knowing that their support didn't end once the system was paid for and that help is always there if needed. Since the installation, our electric bills have dropped significantly, and we haven't experienced a single issue. The system has been running efficiently and doing exactly as proposed. One of my biggest concerns at the beginning was having work done on our roof, but after two years and plenty of rainy days, I'm happy to say we've had zero problems. Overall, it's been a great experience, and I've already recommended Excite Energy to several friends.

They listened to our priorities and were highly informative about multiple options for panels and batteries; offered the best pricing BY FAR among four companies that bid (about 15% lower than the next best!); and exceeded our expectations for speedy installation. At our request, they installed the wiring/conduit under the roof and inside of walls for a clean look, at no additional expense. They took care of everything that was needed with PGE, then set up the system operation per our preferences -- so we didn't have to do a thing. (Based on PGE savings, the system will pay for itself in just under 5 years.) A year later, when we had a few questions, Heath responded within minutes. An excellent company that we highly recommend to anyone!

We had the crew out again recently to assure no damage to the roof from the recent crazy storms and the team was able to troubleshoot even though it wasn't a solar-related problem. We really appreciate this business and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them as our top choice for local solar services.

Communication is top notch and their attention to detail is fantastic. Professionally run conduit and minimal infrastructure led to a very clean install. We have a flat roof, so attaching the panels through the roof was taken with great care to ensure they only tied into the beam structure. Not only that, his pricing is incredibly fair and he coordinated with our contractor at every stage. Thank you Dan, Zack, Mike, and everyone at Laibach Solar.

My wife and I decided to get solar when we got our PG&E bills after moving to Cameron Park. My…read moregood friend worked for them and she made the whole process easy! She and Mike Lewis (who I don't recommend) both came out and talked to us, my friend answered my very detailed questions (because I'm an engineer and I get very technical), guided us through the application process, and I'm sure they will be very helpful through the installation process. Mike Lewis, on the other hand, missed every single appointment with us after the first appointment, made very sexist and rude comments, and wouldn't stop talking about how great he is and that he's the best solar salesman and that's why you need solar. V3 took everything into their hands. They upgraded our panel, got the permits, installed a Nest thermostat for us, and took care of all the PG&E business, which is great for me because I HATE dealing with PG&E. V3 has a variety of programs, but we chose the one that best suited our situation. Here's a basic explanation of our program: We signed up to pay ~$0.18/kWh for the next 20 years, which is lower than PG&E's lowest tier rate. This rate is what we pay for ALL of the electricity that we generate using V3's solar system. That's it... it's that simple. We will still have an annual true-up with PG&E because you have to pay to be connected to the grid, but if our system performs as well as they say it will, we will only be paying the ~$10/month at that annual true up because our system will supposedly cover 101% of our current electrical usage. I will update my review once the panels are installed and everything is up and working, but so far I am very happy with everything! A bit of a late update, but here it is. So our panels were activated on December 23, 2017. Everything seemed to be working, but after a couple of months we still weren't able to get our production numbers from SunRun. It turns out that the installers didn't flick a switch that would have enabled the communication with SunRun's servers. SunRun's information portal is very limited. There are other companies out there that are WAY ahead of SunRun when it comes to the data side. If you want to see your most productive hours or more detailed information, don't go with V3/SunRun. Through the installation process we had a few issues. When they installed the nest, they screwed the wiring up and we had to call them out again because our heater wasn't working. The new panel that they installed was half the size of our old panel, with every breaker in use. I had to call three separate times to get them to come out and put in some smaller breakers so I had room to expand, which was part of the deal. They asked us if we ever wanted to add a spa or other lines into our house and I said yes. Much to my surprise when they finally installed the new panel there was no extra space in the panel. They also installed a new grounding rod as part of the panel upgrade. I'm not sure why, but their electricians do not know how listen. They first installed the grounding rod so that it BLOCKED OUR GATE. We were unable to access our back yard with it installed. I asked them to just pound it down another 6-8 inches and put a box on it (like your water valve, this is common practice in the construction industry), but instead they cut it off, ripped up my siding, and installed a new one next to my rain gutter... I had to wait an additional 2 months for them to come out and paint our conduits to match the house. To add to that, once we had our first rain storm I came home to my puppy playing in a 10' diameter puddle on our hardwood floors. It seems that V3 forgot to fill a few holes that they drilled on accident.... Since then, we haven't had any problems. The only long term issue I see is that they are a partner with SunRun, so SunRun sends you an email that says you need service, waits three days to tell V3, and then they call you. Honestly, I'd say not to go with them, but it seems like all of these solar outfits are pretty difficult to deal with.

This company's communication was terrible. I dealt with three different people who are supposedly…read moremy project managers and had to reach out to them for updates. Getting the various approval levels was painfully slow in fact the time I had to cancel took much longer than the time they needed to get things set up. That being said once I notified them of my wish to cancel they reminded me that I had 10 days to cancel or I would have to pay $2,500 and cancellation fees. If I didn't know any better I would think this is part of their business model. Either way I would highly not recommend doing business with this company based on their lack of response, and their lack of follow-up.

I feel like they helped us make the right decisions through the whole process, especially for system size to be able to keep our NEM1 status. The new roof looks great and works really well.
