I cannot imagine there are many homeowners who are experts when it comes to HVAC systems. I know…read morefor a fact that I am not, it was with great trepidation that I started our search for a new system since our 40 year old system was on it's last legs, and another Sacramento summer was at hand. So I reached out to three local companies, all of whom came highly recommended, for proposals to replace the entire system, duct work included. I then put all three into ChatGPT and here is the one comment about Phoenix Energy Solutions' proposal that was the most salient. "Those are signs that the contractor is paying attention to installation quality rather than simply replacing equipment." The price was also very competitive and when the entire scope of the proposals where compared, it was the best from a cost perspective. Of course a proposal on paper, is just that, words on paper. Now it's time to see if the work stands up to the words. Yes, yes they did. Five stars here. Communication was clear, scheduling the job was prompt. The job took two days and our new Amana 3-ton 17+ SEER Variable Heat Pump system was installed and working beautifully. Now, keep in mind this is a very intrusive process, but Micah and his crew were conscientious and careful in our home. I can say without hesitation, Micah and Phoenix Energy Solutions checks all the boxes. Knowledgable - Check Thorough - Check Competitive - Check Communication - Check Honest - Check Quality - Check

I first used Phoenix Energy Solutions back in 2013 when they came and turned a 'must replace your…read morewhole unit (that was then about 9yo)' into a well-explained $600 job. Quote from my original review: ******** "At some point, we will need a bigger unit to accomodate our actual square footage, but for now, the house is cool, comfortable (it runs warmer on the kid's side, but well below the danger point of when we didn't have AC-I used fans and kept the kids in the master suite with me). And when we DO replace our unit-I don't need Yelp-I'll just call Phoenix Energy Systems and you should too! PS-this is the service that made me join Yelp, so I can give Rich and PES 5 stars (and not 10 as others have noted)." *********** Since then, I've been on PES REST plan (their annual maintenance contract for 1 AC and 1 heater/furnace tuneup per year). I don't review routine service calls, but go ahead and imagine about 3 dozen 5 star reviews for keeping my systems running and functional as they met and then exceeded normal life for these units. Well, all good things must come to an end. The AC sealant gave out, flooding my attic and into my master bathroom. After much consideration, I came to realize that it was time to replace the AC, and possibly the equally old and increasingly troublesome heater. So Micah came over and presented several options and discussed which ones were SMUD rebate eligible. I went with the bundled (and SMUD rebate eligible) AC + Heat Pump combo. Micah and his son (already an industry veteran and very capable) arrived bright and early (e.g. right on time) and 10 hours later - old units removed, new units installed. The big surprise was *nothing* - e.g. none of the clunks grinds, whooshes, strained sounds of the old system. Just nice cool air evenly distributed throughout my 3/2 bungalow. The old system kept the master suite at temperature, but ran hot summers and cold winters in the kid's rooms at the other end of the house. Remember folks, true power doesn't roar - it whispers. And of course, thank you Phoenix Energy Solutions for fair pricing and top notch professional HVAC services.

It's now been over two years since our solar system was installed in Sept 2023. The installation itself went smoothly and the team worked hard to make sure everything was completed in time to meet the PG&E application deadline. Everyone I worked with was professional, friendly, and easy to communicate with. After the installation, I had a few questions and the team was quick to respond and genuinely helpful. I really appreciate knowing that their support didn't end once the system was paid for and that help is always there if needed. Since the installation, our electric bills have dropped significantly, and we haven't experienced a single issue. The system has been running efficiently and doing exactly as proposed. One of my biggest concerns at the beginning was having work done on our roof, but after two years and plenty of rainy days, I'm happy to say we've had zero problems. Overall, it's been a great experience, and I've already recommended Excite Energy to several friends.

I am hoping their workmanship and post-installation support is not commensurate with the customer service I've experienced to date. - My project was scheduled for installation on December 8. I was told installation would take 2 to 3 days. - Leading up to December 8, I was told installation would instead start on December 11. No explanation or apology was provided. I was at least reassured it would still be a 2-3 day process. - On December 17, installation remained incomplete. I was told installation would be completed on December 22 and that an inspection would be completed on December 23. - On December 22, I had not heard from Excite all day. It did not look like work had been done on my project. I called and asked if work had been done on my project. I was told that installation had been completed earlier in the day and that the inspection would proceed as planned. - On December 23, the inspector showed up. Excite did not. I called Excite multiple times and couldn't get anyone on the phone. I emailed and could not get an immediate response. The inspector left. Heath eventually called me and I learned for the first time that: (1) installation had not actually been completed, even though I had been told otherwise; and (2) the inspection should have been postponed, but wasn't. Heath took no ownership for the miscommunication about my project completion, the fumbled inspection, or my project generally. He would not commit to a firm plan or timeline for completing my installation or having the inspection done. - So 2+ weeks into a 2 to 3 day installation, my project remains incomplete. Other than my brief call with Heath, throughout the process I haven't been provided proactive updates about the prolonged installation time, updated timelines to completion, or really any pertinent information. The job site was also left unkempt on a day to day basis. A waste basket's worth of debris was left around my property and the interior of my home was left incredibly dirty. - As it stands would not recommend Excite to friends or family.

Both times they were amazing. Hire this company for your solar project. Dejan and his team are simply one of the best contractors I've ever worked with. Communication is top notch and their attention to detail is fantastic. Professionally run conduit and minimal infrastructure led to a very clean install. We have a flat roof, so attaching the panels through the roof was taken with great care to ensure they only tied into the beam structure. Not only that, his pricing is incredibly fair and he coordinated with our contractor at every stage. Thank you Dan, Zack, Mike, and everyone at Laibach Solar.

We had the crew out again recently to assure no damage to the roof from the recent crazy storms and the team was able to troubleshoot even though it wasn't a solar-related problem. We really appreciate this business and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them as our top choice for local solar services.

We have moved to a new house in El Dorado county in 2016, and a month later realized that our…read moreelectric bill have tripled! We expected it to be higher, since we moved to a much larger house, but triple?? And that is with us being extremely conscientious about our electrical usage - all LED bulbs, timers etc. Nevertheless, after spending on average $600/mo in the summer months mainly due to AC/Pool/hot tub pump usage, we had to look for another alternative. And so our solar mission had began. For the next 6 months we had spoken to several solar companies and looked at every possible solar scenario. At one time, we had even put a deposit for the installation, but at the last minute, the company had informed us that they would not be able to put as many solar panels as we had agreed, resulting in us withdrawing from the solar contract. But as we know, whatever happens is happens to our best, so eventually, after an exhausting search for various options, we were presented by a proposal that we found to be particularly good. Now before I get to it, I have to say that each family may have a different situation which may justify different solar solution if at all. In our case, we were not able to benefit from the tax credit, so purchasing solar panels would not make much sense. At the same time purchasing solar panels would still be a more preferable option than leasing the same panels. We definitely did not want to get in any kind of equipment lease. That's when we met with Mike Zsoka (mzsoka@v3electric.com) and Jake MacNeil from V3 Electric, who proposed to us a hard to refuse option of buying power not from PG&E, but from V3 Electric solar company they worked at. In exchange for our long term commitment to purchase electricity from them, they would install the top of the line solar panels and equipment, and maintain it for the duration of the contract. Why we found it hard to refuse? Simple - our 20-year commitment to buy power was at considerably lower price per Kw than buying the same power from the PG&E. In fact about 50% less with no tiered pricing, no penalties for high usage, and a modest 2.99% yearly increases to keep up with inflation (the average PG&E price increase per Kw/h in 1986-2016 was 7%). So even 20 years from now, our electricity bill will be less than what we were paying last summer. On top of it, our ability to use power greatly expanded since the new solar panels are generating more power (~19-21K KW/h per year) than what we used last year (~16K-18K Kw/h). This will help us with the accommodation of an additional family members that are now living with us, and allow us to add more power using amenities in the near future. If we decide to sell the house and move, then the new owners can take over the plan if they are inclined to do so (and why would they not?), or we can buyout the panels at whatever the depreciated price would be at that particular time, and include it in the sale price. In either case, we felt the presented offer was an excellent deal and agreed to sign it, with no upfront cost of any kind. The installation process was fast and straight forward, and we got the latest 375W GE solar panels, with top of the line equipment. Now, almost a month later, we are very happy not to deal with the ridiculous PG&E tiered pricing system and start saving money. With that said, we can definitely recommend V3 Electric solar company, and specifically Jake MacNeil and Mike Zsoka (mzsoka@v3electric.com), who we found to be honest, punctual, knowledgeable, and very customer service oriented.

If I didn't know any better I would think this is part of their business model. Either way I would highly not recommend doing business with this company based on their lack of response, and their lack of follow-up.

On top of that, they're just good down-to-earth people. We hired them last spring to re-roof our home, replace some rotted eaves and fascia and replace our old solar system (it was inefficient and malfunctioned quite a bit). We are very happy with what we got for the price we paid, it was a good value. It looks so much better than it did before and is consistently producing more energy. I feel like they helped us make the right decisions through the whole process, especially for system size to be able to keep our NEM1 status. The new roof looks great and works really well.
