Let me preface this by saying, it wasn't a bad experience (music and atmosphere were perfect) but this place overcharges for every single dish. You will not get your money's worth and would be better off going to the grocery store and making something yourself. I ordered the szechuan chicken given that the reviews and photos were so positive on here. My dish was 90% rice and 10% chicken for $18. My friend also ordered the NY strip which is $40 something and it was tough to cut and chewy. If you are looking for a well-cooked and sourced filling meal look elsewhere. Our waitress rarely checked on us and took 20+ minutes to deliver our $10+ drinks. I really had higher hopes and was sorely disappointed. read more

I really like this place. The indoor / outdoor bar is great. My visit this Saturday night was not great. The bartender thought it would be a good idea at 8:30 on a Saturday night to clean! She cleaned the mixing bottles and containers. I sat with my drink empty for a while. But with her back to me most of the time cleaning, I guess she didn't see my glass. I would have ordered a couple more drinks and dessert, but I left. The bartenders are nice, but no bar etiquette. read more

I've been wanting to try this place for months and all the reviews were great and when I finally do I had the worst experience. The ambience is great the menu looked amazing, but the overall service and meal just was disappointing. I ordered the 8 oz steak (dairy free - allergy), the waiter comes back after the food is ready and says "sorry I put in the wrong steak (the more expensive one $20 more) and says is that okay...I'm hungry at this point so I say okay. Then I'm 3 bites in and it just tastes too good to be true...I moved the veggies on top and it's dosed in butter .... I'm lactose intolerant hence "dairy free" and so that's a huge red flag that between the waiter and kitchen not only was the steak enter wrong but that it wasn't dairy free. In times like this when you're dealing with severe allergies making up for the meal by giving a $4 sorbet (which was really good) for free doesn't really cut it for me. Overall I'm Very sad and displeased after being so excited to come here and probably won't be back from having 2 mess ups in the same night and 1 that made me very sick. Restaurants should be more accommodating when they mess up someone's meal for an allergy cause quite frankly you're dealing with someone's life. I expected more than the waiter blaming the chef for the butter, when the steak was wrong too from being entered wrong. At least the broccolini was good read more

Awesome spot. Great value and a vary diverse menu with a lot of great choices. Haven't eaten here other than to go but everything we've gotten is spot on and some stuff is at an awesome price. This is my go to breakfast/brunch spot. The avocado toast is absolutely amazing. It's a large serving with perfect portions of avocado on tasty bread made to perfection. Not soggy at all, bread stays crisp and warm. The ingredients always seem like they were home grown. Steak and eggs is always tasty as well. Seasoned just right with crispy potatoes. Always looking to discover a new gem. Found out Southern Rail closed permanently and replaced by Tesota. We rallied up on Saturday night for dinner. Missed Happy Hour by 15 min (definitely stopping by another night to try the charcuterie board and wings as both are featured on the HH menu. 2-6:05pm). We ordered the rice paper spring rolls to share. It was more gimmicky than expected. The rice paper wrapping definitely gave it a unique, crispy yet chewy texture. However, the filling had a very bland taste, lacking in flavor (keep in mind, this will continue to be a trend as the review continues). It relied too heavily on the seaweed inside and the overly pungent ponzu sauce that accompanied it. The sauce had 1 dimension, and that was just tart. It lacked a sweetness to it. Ponzu should be tart yet sweet. The sauce hits you really hard and suddenly, not in a pleasant way. The fish katsu sandwich was cooked to perfection. Ingredients were fresh, the bread was soft and cloud-like, fish fried up masterfully, and whatever mayo or dressings added was yum yum! But, like the rice paper rolls, it lacked flavoring or seasoning overall. I'd rank this fish sandwich in my top 10 of PHX if it just satisfied the taste buds a bit more. I'd also recommend opting for the side salad instead of the fries. They serve a waffle fry that is way too thin. Waffle fries should be thicker so that one can taste and notice the potato more, ya know, the "waffle" aspect. Theirs are too thin and therefore, too crispy. I do not even remember there ever was time I thought fries were "too" crispy. Well, never say "never." My sister tried their Summer White pizza. Which I tried a slice and can only describe it as someone went into their home garden and picked out whatever veggies are fresh at the moment, slapped it on a pizza, and added cheese. Fresh, well baked, nice dough texture, but again, no real flavor or taste, just a tad bit bland. 2/3 of had a hard time picking up any of the truffle. Overall, the 3 of us did all quite enjoy their featured pork special though. Pork was cooked perfectly, juicy as could be. The jam they added on top made the dish unique and memorable. And the risotto, wow, the real star. Lots of places screw up risotto by over cooking it. Not Tesota, it was fantastic! Shame it's not a regular menu item. I don't think risotto itself is even featured anywhere else on their menu. This place is new and I hope they will find ways to improve and enhance their menu. I'll give it a minute and come back to try their wings and other menu items that piqued my interest. Tons of outdoor patio seating so will likely be an awesome place to hang out once weather is friendlier. Their inside bar seating looks fun too. read more

We hosted our rehearsal dinner here and it was AMAZING. The restaurant itself is so beautiful-- toile wallpaper, oversized planes and portraits by Phoenix artist Abe Zucca-- but the food is over the top delicious. Don't skip the harissa shrimp or the brie, my guests were still talking about them the next day. It was a pleasure working with Stephanie who was excellent when making recommendations and helping us navigate hosting a large party. Beautiful place. Loved sitting on the deck patio outside in the shade and just enjoying the atmosphere. Service was really good as well. Went for brunch. The menu is not huge but a decent variety of dishes. Food was good with a smaller portion that were not expensive. Other places overload you with food to charge you more and encourage you to overeat. The layout was really cool as one side of the bar was open to the inside of the restaurant while the other half of the bar was open to the outside. The food was excellent. I had the Half Bird. I finally got to check out the new digs last night after attending the educator Evening event next door at Changing Hands. So this place can become a problem I feel. Ha! In a way I am glad I do not live so close by anymore. The experience was superb. The food was delish. I got a white pizza and a side of fries. Every seat was taken, and Carlos and Rebecca were amazing. Great service, great food, diverse menu. It is not a Mexican themed eatery but a new concept from the people who brought you Otro Cafe and Gallo Blanco. I will be back. I was so thrilled to see some old favs like the amazing coconut pudding and Olive Oil Cake on the menu. Starting next week the pancakes for brunch. We were visiting for a music festival and I stumbled onto this place on yelp. There were so many options that seemed amazing on the menu it was hard to narrow down. So we didn't! We tried the dip sampler as well as the cabbage. The dip sampler was so light and fresh and a great start. The cabbage really stole the show and was such a unique dish. We split the Asian herb salad which was light yet filling, and a very fresh spin on salad. For dinner we got the Yakisoba noodles, a seasonal pizza special with chorizo and butternut squash and a side of the truffle Mac. We ended with the olive oil cake. I would literally order every single thing again. We ate the remainder the next day for lunch with excitement. Our server Eric was amazing and attentive. Even at closing time we didn't feel rushed or pressure to leave at all. The restaurant is also beautiful with the indoor/outdoor space. Something being from Indiana we did not take for granted. I would highly recommend this spot to anyone. Was a great date night spot for us but many guests were more casual as well. Definitely try this place on your Phoenix foodie journey. We finally made it to dinner at this new amazing spot! It's a great local/neighborhood spot but also a nice dinner date if you plan ahead. I love spots like that!
