Well we drove quite far to try this little place but sadly I could only give it a 3 star. We were not surprised to see the line out the door. They had a handle on how to move people in and out pretty quickly, I give them that. We ordered a burger and frito pie to share and a couple bottles of water. Frito pie was really, really good but the burger was so salty we had to throw it out. It left salt on your lips. May have just been an oops or an off day but it was not at all what we were expecting. We had the order to go and weren't close to go back. And NO SWEET TEA....who in Texas that has been in business that long and doesn't offer sweet tea. I'm sorry just stating my experience and hope that y'all try it for yourself. They were all very nice people. Small and Limited seating.

I drove all the way from Austin just to eat here. I heard about all the hype and thought there was no way it would live up to it.... boy was I wrong this is the best burger I've had in many years. My wife had the chili dog and I had a bite of it and it was amazing too. I do not like onions, but you could not taste the onions on that chili dog. I highly recommend this place. The service was great. The four people behind the counter all had a smile on their face. Get there early because it gets crowded and I love the tables there because they remind me of an old school school house. The hamburgers and cheeseburgers are cooked right in front of you. I definitely will be back.

Been a little while but I had to stop in and get my fix! This place never misses the mark. Food, service, and everything in between is always on point.

Great Burgers & a Nice Staff. We all will be back. 1-8-2026

First time trying this gem of a burger place, it will NOT be the last though! A true good old fashioned burger! Yummy! Great food, great staff & we all really enjoyed it! Will, Noel, Ty, Cade & Brandon were hauling cattle & said they got a awesome burger from an awesome place! Great to know about Tex Miller's!

    TexMiller; worth the drive!

Did not get a chance to take pictures of our food! But it was all good! Frito Pie, Chili Cheese Burger, Bacon Cheese Burger, Old School Glass Bottle Dr Pepper and Big Red!!! Service was good! Old school desk as tables. Small place but worth checking it out. Texas Bucket list did it again!

A solid old school (real old school) burger joint hole in the wall (literally can see daylight through some areas). Real fresh, real food cooked in front of you. Old griddle no doubt is the secret to some great seasoning. Don't expect to find French fries or anything else for sides except a plethora of chip bags. We tried pretty much everything on the menu: grilled cheese, chili cheese dog, Frito pie, cheeseburger, bacon cheeseburger (double pictured). Frito pie was LEGIT. The only thing kinda weird was the cut up weenies lol but that's their unique touch on chili dogs and Frito pie. For their chili dog think sloppy Joe style in a hot dog bun. Messy and delish. Again, not the biggest fan of the type of hot dogs used but it's unique. It's an experience and one I'd highly recommend. Checked off the TX Bucketlist, and one I'd consider stopping back by for when passing through again in the future.

Double Double burger and chili dog.

I cannot recommend Tex Miller's enough. I had recently heard of them on TV and we were road tripping for Spring Break so they were our dinner destination of choice. Only issue was we were 2.5 hours away and I wasn't sure of their hours during the middle of the week on a Wednesday. I called around 1:00 and asked their hours, which happened to be 11-5 today. I explained where we weee driving from, and it would be really close to 5:00 but we'd try to get there before. Their response: "Oh don't worry, we'll stay open for you. Just call us when you get on the road." I asked multiple times if they were sure, as I didn't want to make them stay late. I even offered to order ahead and they said "don't worry, you told us you are coming and you are worth the wait." We got in the car and our ETA was 5:01 PM so I called back and they assured me they would stay open for us. The anticipation of driving 2.5 hours for burgers and chili dogs with the family was tough. Let me tell you, it was SOOOOO worth it. We pulled in at 5:00 on the dot, and sure enough, Cindy (who I spoke with on the phone) and Gwen (the owner) were waiting for our family of 4 as if we had been personally invited to family dinner. They took our order, made us fresh burgers and chili dogs, gave my children the experience of picking whatever drink they wanted from an old school slide top cooler and we watched and chatted as they made us dinner. It was phenomenal!!! Truly homemade start to finish. The freshest fixings. The chili with hot dogs (yes...chili first, hot dogs in it) was amazing and like nothing I'd had before. The burger (Double Double) was so good and fresh fresh meat on a toasted bun. My kiddos loved their bacon cheeseburger and cheeseburger and my wife enjoyed her all the way cheeseburger. So spot on! And we talked like we were family the entire time. They tanked us and we thanked them and took pictures together. Such an amazing restaurant and experience. We will be back!

    Buns steaming

The Bacon Cheeseburgers we had were fantastic. Cooked to perfection with soft buns. Love the authentic atmosphere of the outside, but more so, the inside. Opened in 1937. No frills and close seating, so if you're not into the historical style, this isn't for you. We loved it and will be back.

If you're in the big city - your chance of finding a place like Tex Miller is somewhere around 0%. I stumbled on this place during a drive where Cameron was near the halfway point. Wanting a quick burger I went to my trusty Yelp app and this came near the top (but the app said it was closed.) I checked anyway and it turns out they had updated hours. When I walked in, I was taken back to an look and feel of when I was a young child. The seating was that old baskin and robbins type desk seating, which was really cool. The cash register's "born on" date was way before mine! There is a sign that says the place was established in the 1930's -- and it brought a smile to my face before I even ordered. I decided to order a bacon cheeseburger and a frito pie. While waited for my food, I took a seat and watched as locals popped in and out. The staff knew EVERYONE by name. At this point I think I was starting to have a crush on the place. Food came out and was awesome! Seriously, the burger was hot, flavorful, and juicy. The frito pie reminded me of my childhood. I loved everything about this place. I want to make the 2 hour drive again soon to take my son. Bottom line - if you're in Cameron, or anywhere close - this place is worth a visit. You don't be disappointed. And even though this place is 85 years old, they take credit cards. Super happy I stopped and will be back!!

Great Hamburgers and really cool spot. I was driving back home to Houston from Killeen and stopped at Tex Millers and really loved this place, quick service and simple menu to choose from. Very Nostalgic. Will definitely return when in the area.

    Chili Dog

I have not stopped talking about the chili dog that I enjoyed so much. It was an hour drive from Waco, but it was well worth the time! I can't wait to take my entire family to visit this wonderful place again.

Best burger I've had in a long time.

What a cool little hamburger joint. Stopped in while passing through and it was definitely a win! This is they way hamburgers are supposed to taste. Talk about Americana! The place is small, but the service was friendly. The old school desks harken back to simpler times and complete the experience. Highly recommend you give them a try. BTW, this place only serves hamburgers, chili dogs and frito pies, so don't expect a big menu.

    Chili dog delicious.

Great hamburgers with a long tradition in Cameron! The griddle has been there 70+years. Still the best in the county.

My first visit to T-Loc's Sonora Hot Dogs and wow, what a way to be introduced to this spot!…read more I met up with a fellow Yelper friend and we got there not long after opening, which turned out to be a very smart move. While we were waiting for our food, it suddenly became a whole scene, it was National Hot Dog Day, and the line just kept growing and growing. People were fully committed too, hot dog shirts, hot dog hats, I'm pretty sure I saw a walking hot dog at one point. Add in folks bringing their own ice chests of beer and it felt like a little hot dog party. We decided to go big and ordered every kind of dog they make so we could share and try them all. A super sweet lady brought our order out to us, which I loved. No waiting around trying to hear someone shout out your name. And let me tell you, every single one was damn good. You really can't go wrong here. My favorite ended up being the classic chili cheese dog, because apparently I like to keep it old school, ha. But seriously, Mr. T-Loc knows exactly what he's doing with his chili recipe! I also tried an agua fresca for the first time and now I get the hype. So refreshing and good. Next time, I've got my eye on one of those big burritos because they looked crazy good, no joke. Accessibility wise, they do have accessible parking, which is a huge plus. The seating is a mix of circular and standard picnic tables, some with shade, but not the most wheelchair-friendly setup. They do have a ramp up to the covered area and I made it work by parking at an angle at the end of a table, nothing was getting between me and those dogs. Bottom line, this is a must try spot if you're craving great food and don't skip on the fresh made agua fresca!
