Texan Sizzle is a little place that serves big tacos. I got a breakfast taco with eggs and chorizo. It was filling and cost about $5. They have a few tables inside, a counter to order at, and two small tables out front. Next time in in the area, I'd love to visit and try some other items.

Good food, huge portions, amazing prices, made to order service, and great ambiance. What's not to like. We stopped by for breakfast and everything was great. Definitely recommended.

This morning, I got three breakfast bean and cheese tacos. They were good with lots of beans and cheese. The tortillas were crispy. This is a rather small restaurant, but it's clean and inviting. It's conveniently located to the Riverwalk.

We were in town for the weekend from N.Texas. I knew that SA was known for their breakfast tacos and found two favorites in the downtown area. Yelp helped us pick the two best choices from their reviews. So we came by just before 10am on a Sunday and found the owner waiting for his help to arrive. Poor guy was at the mercy of this generation that shows up when they want. He asked us to come back in a few minutes, so we ventured around the corner and stopped by a local coffee shop. Sure enough, he was open around 10 when we walked back by. It's a small dining room with only a few tables but already it was almost full. We ordered our tacos and got one of the last tables. You can't beat the price. We got four tacos and a side of hash browns for just over $20. That was amazing alone. The cashier brought them out about 10 minutes later and they looked AMAZING ! We also realized these are huge breakfast tacos and we could have ordered just one each. Well they didn't disappoint. The tortillas were so good and fresh. My first bite was the sausage and egg. OMG it was good! He even seasoned it well. Hot and tasty! Then my bacon and egg was even better. Loved that he uses thick cut bacon and it was crispy! You hit these tacos out of the park! The customer service deserves a 6th though. He came out of the kitchen and thanked us for coming back like we said we would. If we come back to SA, this will be our place for breakfast tacos!

Texas Sizzle - Downtown San Antonio This tiny mom & pop spot has only about four tables, but it's packed with flavor and charm. For under $20, I got a hot cup of coffee and three huge tacos chorizo & egg, potato & egg, and carne guisada, all delicious. My favorite was the chorizo & egg, recommended by the friendly guy at the counter. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with locals constantly popping in for tacos to go. Great food, great conversation, and definitely a place I'll be coming back to probably tomorrow for round two!

Conveniently located near the Riverwalk on Jefferson street. Ordered the sausage /egg/cheese breakfast sandwich on Texas toast with hash browns. Delicious Just a few small tables inside. But AC felt great.

Found this little spot while walking around, it was really crowded (small place) and we weren't going to go in but several patrons coming out highly recommended that we eat there. The food was really good, burgers were delicious! It is a small place but we found a place to sit inside. The owner came out and was super nice and thanked us for waiting (the wait for food wasn't long, maybe 10 mins) and for coming in.

An oasis of Great tasting food at a reasonable price, in a sea of touristy priced food . Workers are nice too. It's a little "hole in the wall "that seems to make people happy . You can BYOB , or go next door to the convenience store and pick one up. The drinks are bottled sodas and water all priced at 2.59. No cups no ice .

I was looking for a quick lunch while staying in the Hyatt Riverwalk and this place was just down the street. This place went from a table of locals to standing room only before I could finish my cheesesteak. The cheesesteak all the way and side of hashbrowns really hit the spot. Very friendly staff. I would definitely go back. There are a couple of tables outside if weather cooperates.

WOW, AMAZING TACOS!!! Found this place on Yelp. Was looking for a place to grab breakfast, this is IT! Very welcoming staff. Easy menu to order from. I grabbed two breakfast tacos, Egg & Chorizo and Egg & Cheese with a side of Avocado. Large portions. I got it to go and they give you a side of delicious salsa with a hint of spice. A must try if you are in the area. Quick service too!!

Found this on our way to the convention center. Cozy space with good tunes, amiable host, quick service, and most importantly, the food was excellent. Reasonable prices. If we're in San Antonio, we'll be back. I'd have posted a pic of my Texas breakfast but I ate it completely a before I thought about it. It was that good.

GAME CHANGER! When…read moreI visit San Antonio Plantaqueria is an absolute must. I'm taken aback every time I walk into to this wonderfully positioned taqueria in downtown steps from the River Walk. The smells, the feels, the sounds- it'll set your senses on fire. It's ambience is nothing short of walking the streets of Mexico and stumbling across the best local food find there is- it's your lucky day. It doesn't end there, because I have yet to discuss the flavors that this place dishes out. If you can imagine that other taquerias in town as as good as mamma's cooking, Plantaqueria is grandma's cooking saying, " I taught them everything they know." The counter service, decor and neon lights transport you to a pueblo that you probably have no business being in but were fortunate enough to get lost in. I feel that the people working to advance this visionary concept are in love with what they do because you get that experience with every bite of fresh, homemade goodness, weather you dine in or take/order out. Dude, fresh corn and flour tortillas, C'mon, man!! And speaking of vision, the owner, Sofia, who looks like she would get IDd at a bar has created something truly unique and incredibly delicious. Plantaqueria has revolutionized modern, classical Mexican street cuisine. It's open 7am-7pm so you can literally have this all day and you might wish you did. Y'all need to get you some, and don't thank me, thank the purveyors of this Alamo City gem. P.s. I've brought my mom in to eat this stuff and she totally agrees!

(It had Just Egg but I think other things added with it. It felt that it was softer and lighter than if it was only Just Egg) and pico de gallo on handmade flour tortilla. We were surprised by how much we enjoyed it. Their two self-serve complementary salsas were also fun and creamy. Concha- Delicious and we liked the top of it. Maybe one of our favorite conchas. Elote hot cake - Came out really hot and was delicious. These are only available on weekends. I was tempted to get more but we had lots more food targets on the schedule. Torta with Asada was pretty good too. But the other items excited me more I think. The person at the front also gave us some samples of other taco fillings to try: the fillings of the La Ranchera: Potatoes and pico de gallo in salsa ranchera and also grilled nopales. My husband who is usually not as crazy as me about nopales liked them here. They have mole on the weekends but it's not housemade from scratch. They use premade mole and add some more things to it so we skipped that one. My general rating system: 1 star: I would stay away 2 stars: Has some good things about it but I generally don't recommend. 3 stars: Pretty good. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back but a decent place 4 stars: Great place. I would go back. 5 stars: I highly recommend stopping whatever you are doing and making plans to try it out! An Evie favorite!

That's exactly the energy at Los Weyes de la Asada. From the second you walk up, it feels alive. Not in a forced way, more like you've been there before, even if it's your first time. The kind of place where your stress, your diet, even your cruda takes a backseat. Now the food. No overthinking needed here. Everything coming out of that truck is a straight up pow pow of flavor. The carne is cooked just right, juicy with that perfect char, and the corn tortillas are legit, soft but with enough structure to hold everything together. I ordered the Mamón and the Chingón, and honestly, both lived up to the names. No misses. And the agua fresca de fresa? That sealed it. They serve it in a little bolsita, which somehow makes it hit even better. Simple, nostalgic, and just cool. As a fellow citizen of H-town, we have a vibrant taco scene and I would put this place up there with some of my favorite spots I frequented in HOU. Each time I've been here, I've ordered between 8-9 tacos as they are each $2.50. I've gotten a combination of pastor, barbacoa, lengua, bistec, and cabeza. I can't really select a favorite cause they're all so delicious with the meats tender and juicy with a heaping sprinkle of onions and cilantro. Make sure you squeeze the lime on it and mix it with the radish/cucumber garnish they'll throw in there. And don't forget to throw on that green/red salsa they provide. Either eat there or get it to go (which is what I did). Fortunately the tacos travel well as they were still hot when I posted up at my hotel to grub. Don't be discouraged of the long line if you see one as it moves quick. You walk up and place your order, then pay afterwards. It's somewhat of an honor system but there is security present when I went there so that eased my concerns. For drinks, it's either soft drinks, water, or mineral water. No alcohol is served here so if you want margaritas/micheladas/beer, you'll have to go elsewhere for that. No doubt I'm returning next time I'm in SA. Viva Taquitos West SIDE!
