This morning, I got three breakfast bean and cheese tacos. They were good with lots of beans and cheese. The tortillas were crispy. This is a rather small restaurant, but it's clean and inviting. It's conveniently located to the Riverwalk.

We were in town for the weekend from N.Texas. I knew that SA was known for their breakfast tacos and found two favorites in the downtown area. Yelp helped us pick the two best choices from their reviews. So we came by just before 10am on a Sunday and found the owner waiting for his help to arrive. Poor guy was at the mercy of this generation that shows up when they want. He asked us to come back in a few minutes, so we ventured around the corner and stopped by a local coffee shop. Sure enough, he was open around 10 when we walked back by. It's a small dining room with only a few tables but already it was almost full. We ordered our tacos and got one of the last tables. You can't beat the price. We got four tacos and a side of hash browns for just over $20. That was amazing alone. The cashier brought them out about 10 minutes later and they looked AMAZING ! We also realized these are huge breakfast tacos and we could have ordered just one each. Well they didn't disappoint. The tortillas were so good and fresh. My first bite was the sausage and egg. OMG it was good! He even seasoned it well. Hot and tasty! Then my bacon and egg was even better. Loved that he uses thick cut bacon and it was crispy! You hit these tacos out of the park! The customer service deserves a 6th though. He came out of the kitchen and thanked us for coming back like we said we would. If we come back to SA, this will be our place for breakfast tacos!

Texas Sizzle - Downtown San Antonio This tiny mom & pop spot has only about four tables, but it's packed with flavor and charm. For under $20, I got a hot cup of coffee and three huge tacos chorizo & egg, potato & egg, and carne guisada, all delicious. My favorite was the chorizo & egg, recommended by the friendly guy at the counter. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with locals constantly popping in for tacos to go. Great food, great conversation, and definitely a place I'll be coming back to probably tomorrow for round two!

An oasis of Great tasting food at a reasonable price, in a sea of touristy priced food . Workers are nice too. It's a little "hole in the wall "that seems to make people happy . You can BYOB , or go next door to the convenience store and pick one up. The drinks are bottled sodas and water all priced at 2.59. No cups no ice .

Found this little spot while walking around, it was really crowded (small place) and we weren't going to go in but several patrons coming out highly recommended that we eat there. The food was really good, burgers were delicious! It is a small place but we found a place to sit inside. The owner came out and was super nice and thanked us for waiting (the wait for food wasn't long, maybe 10 mins) and for coming in.

I was looking for a quick lunch while staying in the Hyatt Riverwalk and this place was just down the street. This place went from a table of locals to standing room only before I could finish my cheesesteak. The cheesesteak all the way and side of hashbrowns really hit the spot. Very friendly staff. I would definitely go back. There are a couple of tables outside if weather cooperates.

Tacos are nize size especially for the price. So good highly recommend. Wonderful customer service quick and affordable

WOW, AMAZING TACOS!!! Found this place on Yelp. Was looking for a place to grab breakfast, this is IT! Very welcoming staff. Easy menu to order from. I grabbed two breakfast tacos, Egg & Chorizo and Egg & Cheese with a side of Avocado. Large portions. I got it to go and they give you a side of delicious salsa with a hint of spice. A must try if you are in the area. Quick service too!!

The place itself may be small, but the food is definitely large! They are open for breakfast and lunch. Everything is cooked to order. We had the BLT sandwich (on Texas toast) and the Texas Cheesesteak sandwich. Excellent. Prices are very reasonable. They do a lot of takeout business, probably due to the small dining room. The place is on the street among other storefronts. Look for it. You won't be disappointed! read more

I consider myself a taco connoisseur, in this being my first time to San Antonio I was on a mission do you find the best taco of my lifetime and I found it at this place! I had both the Carne Asada and the short rib taco and I couldn't decide which one was better. They both had like as jus gravy that set them apart from any taco I've ever had anywhere else. Oh hell yea. Close to the Alamo. There isn't much to die for in life, but I could probably hold out long enough to get another Texas Bacon Patty melt until I was overwhelmed by sheer numbers. This is a great item. So good I can't try anything else. When I die, I'd like statue in the Alamo square detailing how I bravely fought for this food. I am here at 7:30 this morning to get the damned burger since they close at 2:30pm now. That's how good it is. When in downtown San Antone, take up arms and defend this place!! read more

Stopped in here for lunch with two friends. We were given a big, friendly greeting as soon as we went in. The man at the counter was really helpful - and super patient, answering my questions. And then the food came out. Wow!! I have never had a brisket taco before. It was amazing. The brisket was cooked perfectly. The tortilla was the right size and held up really well. One of my friends got the grilled cheese on Texas toast. If my taco hadn't been so delicious, I definitely would have been having FOMON It was a really great, really inexpensive lunch. In town on vacay and happened by Texan Sizzle when looking for a quick breakfast. The guys working were genuinely nice and focused on providing a great experience and the food was fantastic! We had the guisado taco, egg and chorizo, egg and bacon, and egg and sausage tacos. All on point! Salsa was great, too. read more

Super tasty burgers and cheese steaks in the heart of downtown. Honestly one of the best cheese steaks that I've ever had! A very simple menu, but they do it all well. The restaurant is tiny and clean with friendly staff. Not much seating area, but it's just around the corner from Travis Park and the Alamo, so you can easily order food to eat on the go. read more

We were surprised by how much we enjoyed it. Their two self-serve complementary salsas were also fun and creamy. Concha- Delicious and we liked the top of it. Maybe one of our favorite conchas. Elote hot cake - Came out really hot and was delicious. These are only available on weekends. I was tempted to get more but we had lots more food targets on the schedule. Torta with Asada was pretty good too. But the other items excited me more I think. The person at the front also gave us some samples of other taco fillings to try: the fillings of the La Ranchera: Potatoes and pico de gallo in salsa ranchera and also grilled nopales. My husband who is usually not as crazy as me about nopales liked them here. They have mole on the weekends but it's not housemade from scratch. They use premade mole and add some more things to it so we skipped that one. My general rating system: 1 star: I would stay away 2 stars: Has some good things about it but I generally don't recommend. 3 stars: Pretty good. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back but a decent place 4 stars: Great place. I would go back. 5 stars: I highly recommend stopping whatever you are doing and making plans to try it out! The salsa you'll get at your table are two different types of green and a red one. The red one is hotter, but the green still has hints of heat. Both are delicious, but I could only manage to slather the green one on my food. At the end of your meal, you'll go up and pay at the counter by telling them how many tacos you had and that's it. There's tons of parking available, while the lights on the side may look busy they actually own the building next-door and all the parking in the back is available to utilize. I ordered the same order plus charro Beans, elote (corn in a cup) and 3 cans of sprite. This time we took literally one bite and the meat was DRYER than the Saharan desert both the carne asada and the chicken. (Tasted like some reheated old meat or meat that had been made days prior). We were already at the hotel at this point and was infuriated!!! We ended up calling and I believe I spoke to Julio (or whoever the cook is) over the phone. After lying saying that he cooked the meat fresh that day he stuttered I told him aint no way the meat was fresh. He then said and I quote " I cooked the meat "a couple days ago" then said "sorry I burnt it or overcooked it". (Knowing that why would you serve that to me?) I then stated "yes it tasted old period". I requested a refund in which he agreed to. Driving all the way back I brought the food back as well. Julio (or whoever the cooks name is) tried to plead his case to me saying that the meat is fresh and took a fork and tasted the food himself and then tried to offer me the food. I told him "no I don't want to taste it, just refund me please" in which he did. Dishonesty, Not handling food with care, lying. Is something that crosses the line and I won't be back. *Also if the owner is reading this I have the phone conversation recorded and the video evidence to show proof this whole interaction, so do not just glaze over this review* I don't like writing bad reviews, but this one is for sure warranted. Seems like they will dress up the taco and selling you some "old meat" people just be careful and mindful when coming to this taco truck. "The Earths Best Taco" they say... that's a stretch!
