Texan Sizzle is a little place that serves big tacos. I got a breakfast taco with eggs and chorizo. It was filling and cost about $5. They have a few tables inside, a counter to order at, and two small tables out front. Next time in in the area, I'd love to visit and try some other items.

This morning, I got three breakfast bean and cheese tacos. They were good with lots of beans and cheese. The tortillas were crispy. This is a rather small restaurant, but it's clean and inviting. It's conveniently located to the Riverwalk.

We were in town for the weekend from N.Texas. I knew that SA was known for their breakfast tacos and found two favorites in the downtown area. Yelp helped us pick the two best choices from their reviews. So we came by just before 10am on a Sunday and found the owner waiting for his help to arrive. Poor guy was at the mercy of this generation that shows up when they want. He asked us to come back in a few minutes, so we ventured around the corner and stopped by a local coffee shop. Sure enough, he was open around 10 when we walked back by. It's a small dining room with only a few tables but already it was almost full. We ordered our tacos and got one of the last tables. You can't beat the price. We got four tacos and a side of hash browns for just over $20. That was amazing alone. The cashier brought them out about 10 minutes later and they looked AMAZING ! We also realized these are huge breakfast tacos and we could have ordered just one each. Well they didn't disappoint. The tortillas were so good and fresh. My first bite was the sausage and egg. OMG it was good! He even seasoned it well. Hot and tasty! Then my bacon and egg was even better. Loved that he uses thick cut bacon and it was crispy! You hit these tacos out of the park! The customer service deserves a 6th though. He came out of the kitchen and thanked us for coming back like we said we would. If we come back to SA, this will be our place for breakfast tacos!

Texas Sizzle - Downtown San Antonio This tiny mom & pop spot has only about four tables, but it's packed with flavor and charm. For under $20, I got a hot cup of coffee and three huge tacos chorizo & egg, potato & egg, and carne guisada, all delicious. My favorite was the chorizo & egg, recommended by the friendly guy at the counter. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with locals constantly popping in for tacos to go. Great food, great conversation, and definitely a place I'll be coming back to probably tomorrow for round two!

Found this little spot while walking around, it was really crowded (small place) and we weren't going to go in but several patrons coming out highly recommended that we eat there. The food was really good, burgers were delicious! It is a small place but we found a place to sit inside. The owner came out and was super nice and thanked us for waiting (the wait for food wasn't long, maybe 10 mins) and for coming in.

An oasis of Great tasting food at a reasonable price, in a sea of touristy priced food . Workers are nice too. It's a little "hole in the wall "that seems to make people happy . You can BYOB , or go next door to the convenience store and pick one up. The drinks are bottled sodas and water all priced at 2.59. No cups no ice .

I was looking for a quick lunch while staying in the Hyatt Riverwalk and this place was just down the street. This place went from a table of locals to standing room only before I could finish my cheesesteak. The cheesesteak all the way and side of hashbrowns really hit the spot. Very friendly staff. WOW, AMAZING TACOS!!! Found this place on Yelp. Was looking for a place to grab breakfast, this is IT! Very welcoming staff. Easy menu to order from. I grabbed two breakfast tacos, Egg & Chorizo and Egg & Cheese with a side of Avocado. Large portions. I got it to go and they give you a side of delicious salsa with a hint of spice. A must try if you are in the area. Quick service too!!

Found this on our way to the convention center. Cozy space with good tunes, amiable host, quick service, and most importantly, the food was excellent. Reasonable prices. If we're in San Antonio, we'll be back. I'd have posted a pic of my Texas breakfast but I ate it completely a before I thought about it. It was that good.

I consider myself a taco connoisseur, in this being my first time to San Antonio I was on a mission do you find the best taco of my lifetime and I found it at this place! The place itself may be small, but the food is definitely large! They are open for breakfast and lunch. Everything is cooked to order. We had the BLT sandwich (on Texas toast) and the Texas Cheesesteak sandwich. Excellent. Prices are very reasonable. They do a lot of takeout business, probably due to the small dining room. The place is on the street among other storefronts. Look for it. You won't be disappointed! read more

Stopped in here for lunch with two friends. We were given a big, friendly greeting as soon as we went in. The man at the counter was really helpful - and super patient, answering my questions. And then the food came out. Wow!! I have never had a brisket taco before. It was amazing. The brisket was cooked perfectly. The tortilla was the right size and held up really well. One of my friends got the grilled cheese on Texas toast. If my taco hadn't been so delicious, I definitely would have been having FOMON It was a really great, really inexpensive lunch. Oh hell yea. Close to the Alamo. There isn't much to die for in life, but I could probably hold out long enough to get another Texas Bacon Patty melt until I was overwhelmed by sheer numbers. This is a great item. So good I can't try anything else. When I die, I'd like statue in the Alamo square detailing how I bravely fought for this food. In town on vacay and happened by Texan Sizzle when looking for a quick breakfast. The guys working were genuinely nice and focused on providing a great experience and the food was fantastic! Super tasty burgers and cheese steaks in the heart of downtown. Honestly one of the best cheese steaks that I've ever had! A very simple menu, but they do it all well. The restaurant is tiny and clean with friendly staff. Not much seating area, but it's just around the corner from Travis Park and the Alamo, so you can easily order food to eat on the go. read more

Torta with Asada was pretty good too. But the other items excited me more I think. The person at the front also gave us some samples of other taco fillings to try: the fillings of the La Ranchera: Potatoes and pico de gallo in salsa ranchera and also grilled nopales. My husband who is usually not as crazy as me about nopales liked them here. They have mole on the weekends but it's not housemade from scratch. They use premade mole and add some more things to it so we skipped that one. My general rating system: 1 star: I would stay away 2 stars: Has some good things about it but I generally don't recommend. 3 stars: Pretty good. Each time I've been here, I've ordered between 8-9 tacos as they are each $2.50. I've gotten a combination of pastor, barbacoa, lengua, bistec, and cabeza. I can't really select a favorite cause they're all so delicious with the meats tender and juicy with a heaping sprinkle of onions and cilantro. Make sure you squeeze the lime on it and mix it with the radish/cucumber garnish they'll throw in there. And don't forget to throw on that green/red salsa they provide. Either eat there or get it to go (which is what I did). Fortunately the tacos travel well as they were still hot when I posted up at my hotel to grub. Don't be discouraged of the long line if you see one as it moves quick. You walk up and place your order, then pay afterwards. It's somewhat of an honor system but there is security present when I went there so that eased my concerns. For drinks, it's either soft drinks, water, or mineral water. No alcohol is served here so if you want margaritas/micheladas/beer, you'll have to go elsewhere for that. No doubt I'm returning next time I'm in SA. Viva Taquitos West SIDE!

I loved that they were made with block ice and even embossed the ice with the Devils River logo. The mixologist explained they don't do smoked old fashions due to fire hazard and location in a historic building. But he still made an engaging presentation in creating our cocktails. There was no food offered but they let us bring in voodoo donuts. The two gentlemen at the bar were very friendly and attentive and made our late night visit a special treat. The recurring major flaw, is the way the restaurant inside was designed. It is beautiful but made with all hard surfaces. Nothing present to absorb sounds. As a result sounds inside magnify to a point our servers have had to bend over or take a knee to gather clients food orders during busy times. I feel like I am ar a big Spurs game with the sound bouncing around. Those at our table have had a hard time to have a conversation with each other at times. The small room up front is designed so sound bouncing off hard surfaces is worst in this room. I have had to ask to be relocated twice from this room due the sound level. The kitchen area in the front do not have doors to abd from the kitcgen to the dinibg rooms. Another design flaw, as a result the seating areas loud sound comes into the kitchen area. I can not imagine how the staff communicate to each other in this work setting.
