The first thing I noticed were the prices, really high! About everything was $20 and over. I got the Denver Omelette and pancakes breakfast platter. The Denver omelette wasn't anything to write home about. It was decent, fresh veggies, and ham. The pancakes however were something to be less desired. They weren't fluffy and kind of tough to cut through with just a fork. Other than that a very mediocre restaurant. I would say you'd get more for your money going to a Denny's or IHOP. Not saying the taste will be or won't be better, it'll just be more reasonable upon paying. The place wasn't busy on a Tuesday morning around 10 am and we were seated right away. The service was fairly decent. We didn't sit around too long for our orders to be taken. Just hearing the name you would think oh this might be a bbq place but nope. Came into the restaurant this morning it was empty. I ordered the "Small Breakfast" two eggs, two slices of bacon hash browns and toast. I ordered the eggs "over medium". When the meal arrived the eggs were cooked over so hard they were practically scrambled. The hash browns and bacon were under cooked badly. The only thing that was acceptable was the water and toast. This place re opened recently and it is sooooo cute! We popped by on a rainy day, and it was so warm and inviting. The decor is so cute, awesome music (90's country) and friendly staff. I had the Portuguese skillet which was perfect size for me. The kiddo had the burger and said it was delish. It's very nicely remodeled inside, clean and cozy. Check your steak carefully. Our table was served four steaks that were clearly spoiled, with a strong rancid smell noticeable immediately when the plates arrived. It's unbelievable that anyone could cook and serve food in that condition without noticing the odor. Two of these steaks were meant for children, which is extremely concerning. The waiter was polite and attentive, and the pancakes and biscuits with gravy were very good. Unfortunately, half of our party could not eat. The wife and I came in fairly early on a Saturday morning, as we have been on a quest to find the best chicken fried steak in the central valley. It's a pretty clean place, it seemed to be understaffed, but it's not very big either, the waiter was very pleasant and his timing was perfect. The food is incredibly hit and miss, as they served the most pathetic ribeye I have seen outside of a Denny's, eggs were perfect, potatoes were cold. Both my husbands steak and my country fried steak tasted like the meat had turned bad. Our eggs and biscuits and gravy were good but country potatos tasted frozen. Girl refilling coffee walked right by me and my empty cup on edge of table and no one asked if i wanted a refil until we asked for the bill. Owner came out to show us his packaged meat but didnt seem to comprehend he was showing us an unopened bag and both my and my husbands meat tasted bad. I always pay attention to food costs. I understand the breakdown and how to price quality food for a menu. We had just been in South Lake Tahoe and had Steak dinner and my wife had Salmon and the total of our meal was $6 less expensive than our breakfast. This place is in Manteca folks. Found this place by accident. Renovated, new owner and recently reopened. Server was very gracious and friendly. Food came quickly and everything was delicious! We had omelette (fresh veggies, light and fluffy), Portuguese breakfast and various pancakes.
