Alright. I don't even know where to start but let me just tell you, this was a great and fantastic dining experience! It's all you can eat. For the longest time, Texas de Brazil was the only restaurant in Ridge Hill I hadn't tried, so I was excited to finally eat here tonight. As the name (kind of) suggests, this is a (chain) Brazilian steakhouse. The look of the restaurant emulates that steakhouse feel - there's low lighting and dark wood tones matched with lighter granite and tablecloths. Upon entry there's an impressive wall filled with wine bottles which also serves as an impressive accent wall separating the dining room from the vestibule. Like most Brazilian steakhouses, Texas de Brazil is set up as all-you-can-eat. Each person is given a circular token with one side being red and the other being green. If your green side is up, servers will walk around offering you a variety of meats on skewers. If you are finished eating you can put the red side up and they won't offer you anymore. The meat was good, I especially enjoyed the Brazilian sausage and the filet mignon wrapped in bacon. Most meats are cooked medium rare and salted to taste, though you can request the meat to be cooked differently or without salt. In addition to the strolling meats, there's an impressive salad bar which also has a couple of hot sides and soup. They also serve these awesome cheese rolls at the table plus sides of mashed potatoes and plantains. Service was good - everyone was really friendly. I'm kind of on the fence with Brazilian steakhouses in general, I don't necessarily dislike them but I don't crave meat enough to go to them regularly. If you are in the mood for a Brazilian steakhouse, I would recommend this place over Fogo De Chao any day of the week. The service is always friendly, the cold bar has lots of great selections (make sure to put the marinated artichokes on your plate), and the meat is overall very good. I can't say that it's perfect though. Some meat is better than others and the servers can whiz by your table without checking if you are green. It's by no means a deal killer though. Still highly recommend this place. For the meat, go for the beef ribs, the skirt steak and the leg of lamb. I'd pass on the allure of the filet if I were you. If I could give a zero or maybe a half point. I had a reservation for 7:00 and they didn't seat my wife and I until 7:20. The salad bar was nice but not worth more than $15. The pork was dried out, the chicken was even more dry. If you can believe this a Mcdonald's burger is juicer than their meat. All the meats were dry except the prime rib. The ribs were awful. They were the worst ribs I've ever had anywhere in the country. I tried to call them to complain but they didn't offer to be able to talk with a human being. My wife cautioned me about complaining because they may try to give a free meal to make themselves feel better. I really liked Texas de Brazil as soon as I walked in. The decor was very modern and showy, and the place had a very nice atmosphere. The wait was very, very long. We had made reservations and arrived early, but were seated about half an hour after our reservation time (can someone tell me the point to a reservation if they can't keep it?). Now, I don't normally hit the salad bar at a churrascaria since I like to save my appetite for the meat, but I just happened to check out the salad bar here and noticed that there wasn't a whole lot of options. They had some interesting items (sauted potatoes are awesome), but not a lot of options for the typical salad bar items. As far as the meat, I enjoyed most of them. The Picanha was excellent, and so was the Garlic Sirloin. The filet was very good also. However, I wasn't a big fan of the Parmesan Chicken and the Lamb Chops. The meat servers were very friendly and accomodating to your requests, but the service was super slow. The wait time between cuts of meat felt like forever. Our waiter was also nowhere to be found most of the time. Also prior to the meal, our waiter had mentioned that they'll bring us sweet fried bananas (to cleanse our palate he said), but they ran out of them when we dined. Both my mother and myself bought a Groupon for Texas De Brazil back around Christmas time. It was a buy 1 get 1 free offer - spend $47 for 2 people. The rules stipulated Sunday-Thursday and limit 1 per table. We decided to go on a Monday night figuring it would be less busy. When we called to make the reservations for 7 pm we asked if we could sit at the same table even though we have 2 groupons (again which stated one per table) - the hostess said it was not a problem. We were seated along the right side of the buffet near the kitchen. Our waiter was very friendly and explained how the concept works. Flip your card to Green when you want meat and Red when you don't want meat. The salad bar is advertised as having a gigantic amount of choices. I honestly wasn't that impressed with it. Some of the sides were things I don't eat. But over all I did find plenty side to enjoy. My favorite cut of meat was those Garlic Picanha and Filet Mignon. Everything was simply delicious. They offer complimentary fried bananas at your table ... OMG - YUM! For dessert hubby and I shared the Brazilian Cheesecake - delicious.... Overall great experience. Texas de Brazil is unlike any restaurant I have ever been to. Since the buffet charges at $50 a head, it is hard to recommend for a date. In fact, it is hard to recommend for a family dinner too (Is mom and dad really going to shell out $300 for dinner?!) The food is great though. Before the main course, you are free to splurge on a gigantic appetizer bar. Salad, mash potatoes, soup, and even sushi is up for grabs. After a couple of appetizer dishes, servers come to your table and offer to cut fresh steaks, chicken, or lamb right at your table. I'll admit it is a little overwhelming since 10 meats came to our table all at once at one point! The service was pretty quick. Although I'll say that Texas de Brazil offers the highest quality buffet food that I have ever eaten, the insane prices makes it hard to give the restaurant a perfect 5/5. Thanks to my cousin--heather, the clock struck 9:00 and off we went...appetite in tow. My friend and colleague, "Marnie" recommended it. The salad bar was no salad bar-- replete with a repertoire of various and sundry cheeses, lettuces, vegetable, soup, shrimp dish, sushi selection, etc. This is a salad bar like a Maserati just a car--there must have been over 50 items! The lobster bisque was something to write home about. It was fairly sweet but also velvety. I placed a piece of baguette into mine and was rewarded for my innovation by a real good taste. The bacon from the Salad bar sat in a wooden bowl and the fat ensconced the meat-- macabre. The shrimp was perfectly cooked and seasoned with a garlicky and sweet brew. The picked peppers were blah but not flavorless. They had a sushi sample, and it was not half bad. The au gratin potatoes seemed out of place and tasted ok-- they were not the fresh, steamy-cheese type you might have expected. That said, my tablet spoon taste was not overfly disappointing. The tomatoes were fresh, juicy and did not disappoint. The so-called fresh mozzarella was a little too firm, but nonetheless surprisingly good. Carnivores will undoubtedly leave satisfied. The meats that I defiantly gulleted [sic] included: 1. Chicken parmesan......which was a drumstick speckled with Parmesan--yep. I guess it's culinary license. In some countries calling this chicken parm could result in the chef promptly being placed into the stocks. It was ok, if not good, for chicken but call it something else. 2. The flank steak was spiced just right and cooked nicely. The server comes table side and you're asked to hold tension with your tongs. 3. The Tenderloin comes into types, the first is wrapped in bacon on the second page with a garlic butter. I got the latter, was not disappointed. 4. There was a pork dish that was served to the table. I did not try it and the people I was eating well were waffling on their review So I did not include it here. 4. They served some sausage, I tried that and it was neither spicy nor sweet and it was a little bit under seasoned 5. There was another sort of steak I think it was a ribeye and it was quite toothsome. It was cooked just right and seasoned perfectly. They come around brandishing skewers of meat. Either they take a knife and plop a section of meat onto your plate, or they beckon you to retrieve your tongs and ask you hold tension as they slice away a piece of meat from the skewered selection. I like my meat served well-done. Yes-- I know, its not all that refined. Whatever. Here, though, I strongly suggest not going any more than medium. The well done meats were noticeably rendered inferior by the extra cook time. Each time, I sampled the well done, I regretted it. When I then tried the same cut medium and it was a different experience altogether. They served some thoughtfully prepared mashed potatoes and some cheesy bread bites that were surprisingly moist and toothsome without globs and globs of poorly applied cheese. The waiter was awesome--super attentive and very hospitable. The skewer-servers were pleasant and always came by. They tell you to put a red paper disk on red if you want them to bypass your table and green if you want them to come over with more food to sample. Honestly, I think the skewer servers couldn't care less about whether your paper desk was showing red or green--they came by in any case. The desserts were....hello.....uh.....unnecessary? Ok, if you feel bad for the waiters and restaurant owners because you i) refrained from libations (that is where they make a lot of their money), ii) partook in the gluttony for longer than the average diner, and/or iii) bugged one too many waiters or servers with annoyingly cockamamie special requests; then fine, go ahead, knock yourself out and order the dessert as a balm to your conscience. That said, do everyone a favor--including your home-scale-- and box most of that baby to go-- trust me, that's one decision you won't rue the next morning. Think about leaving the box on some hapless neighbors stoop. My other suggestion is to fast for 1-2 days before you come. This place could easily cause your pants to go up a size or two, and even more if you're cheered on or goaded by your so-called friends who really are oblivious to your health and wardrobe issues. read more

I've eaten at Texas de Brazil a couple of times in the past couple of years, when it was open in the Upper East Side, in Florida and now twice here in Ridge Hill: last month for my dad's birthday and now for my mom's birthday. I had a great time both times I was here. This place has a variety of meats: different types of sirloin steaks (top and bottom), beef ribs, chicken wrapped in bacon, lamb chops (a personal favorite of my parents), Filet Mignon, and more. Although the price might seem a little overwhelming, the meat served is high quality, you can get it with all types of doneness and it is definitely worth its price. You can tell from the first taste, that this meat is high class and different from any other Churrascaria you would ever try. There is a salad bar where there is a good amount of food. Some other reviews say that the food in the salad bar and I agree to it to an extent. I think that the experience here without the meat is not complete, but the salad bar has a variety of food from jasmine rice, mushrooms, potato au gratin, lobster bisque, smoked salmon, prosciutto, other meats, cheeses, and more. I think that the salad bar is a fine meal by itself, but the combination of the meat and salad bar make this an amazing food trip. Along with the food you get in the salad bar and the meat, there are three side dishes: bananas, mash potato, and cheese bread. The bananas are one of my favorite foods made in this restaurant. It is a great way to really change the taste in your mouth if you feel like you've eaten too many savory foods. Every time my family eats here we eat through almost ten servings of this side dish. The mash potatoes served here are the best mash potatoes that I have ever tasted. The bread is fluffy, and addicting. It's not dry and it's one of the most unique things that I have ever tasted. The side dishes alone are amazing and really help you enjoy this place. Since we came here during birthdays, they gave us a cake on the house. Both times, we asked for their carrot cake and it is one of the best carrot cakes EVER. The ambiance here really makes you feel that you are eating at a high class restaurant. The place is dimly lit and there are candles lighting up every table. The salad bar has an eye catching design that you can't help but look at. There is a wine cellar and while you are eating there is a view of all the different wines that this place served. It's also not too noisy. This place is a good place to be in with groups of all ages. This is a good place to celebrate any occasion. The staff here is professional, really friendly, enthusiastic and tended to our needs very. Even the manager was working really hard, he went around, asked customers about their experience, and even acted like a waiter. The service here was impeccable. Thank you for a wonderful time! I came here for my birthday dinner. The place was very clean and the service was amazing. Megan our server, is the best, she definitely knows how to be hospitable and made my birthday dinner amazing. I have never been to Texas de Brazil so I didn't know what to expect. We had amazing drinks, and I didn't expect there to be a lot of seafood options! I loved the fish in coconut milk with rice and the veggies where fresh. The flank steak I had was delicious with the chimichurri sauce (my favorite). In the end, they gave me a chocolate cake which I got to take home (since I could not finish it) and let me tell you it was still good the next day. Came here for dinner with my husband and brother. We enjoyed our time there. The food was good. However in the middle of my meal I found a a piece of hair. I picked it up and threw it on the floor thinking maybe it's mine however my brother found a piece of hair in his green beans and I knew I wasn't bugging. We asked for the manager and he simply asked if he could take our plates, we agreed. He said he'll come back with new silverware for us and he never showed his face after that. Was disappointed because it felt like our concerns weren't important. I don't like playing the race card but I'm sure Caucasian's would have a better reaction to hairs on their plates. I love the buffet, it's so neat, pineapple carpaccio, the best scalloped potatoes, delicious salads, soups, beans, rice, it's all really delicious. For those that love meat, this is your dream spot, typical Brazilian steak house where the meat keeps coming. This is a place for big groups, or actually a quiet date. The thing about it, you have to pace yourself, the meat comes out so fast that you'll get too full too quickly. So, go easy on everything make your first place a sampler plate, then go back for the things you loved on your sample plate. That's how I am able to get through. This place also has really great deserts so after you are stuffed like you've never been before, make room for dessert. I have been a customer of Texas De Brazil since they opened in Ridge Hill. My wife and I would go every holiday season for a special meal and always have enjoyed our time there. Top ten restaurant for us. However our most recent visit was a sad disappointment. It really hurt because we love the restaurant. But like most businesses post Covid- it has been drastically effected. My recent experience when compared with past experiences was morbid. 1st We had a reservation and had to wait for other people to be seated a head of us who walked in after us. No big deal. I can let that one go. 2nd- Thier salad bar went from being a nice selection of fresh prepared food to a very limited selection of food that was no fresh. And what I mean is that the food tasted old. Like stuff left over from the other day. Rice and bean were not the same. Also tasted old 3rd This is the sad part. You come here for the meat. Right? Usually a nice selection. However this time hardly no meat came out. And what I noticed is that all inexpensive meats came out: (chicken, sausage, pork, flank). Usually the filet mignon and lamb chops are peppered in. This time they were non existent. I had to ask for lamb chops from our waiter about five times and he assured me they were coming. I Waited for 30 minutes so as. It to fill up on filler food. Finally a spit comes out and they deliver all the lamb to a table next to me that was just seated five minutes ago. Wow! I go to complain to a a manger and they doable Di bring me some lamb, but it was rare and almost raw. I ate it anyway because I was so hungry. Finally the filet comes out and when I taste it - it's sour. Yeah. Like liberally spoiled meat and raw. Then my wife asks for a better cooked piece and they bring her a brunt piece. On top of all that. The meat was poorly seasoned. At this point I lost my appetite and wanted to go. Nothing was good. I ask for the check and the waiter comes and offers us complimentary dessert for our troubles. Seriously? I just had a horrible meal and experience- and the waiter offers me cake? I didn't even have a satisfying dinner! I came for meat not cake! Manager apologized and said it was due to staff shortage. I beg to differ. This was because they are cutting corners. Lower quality food, limited options, spoiled meat, leftover food from day before...and on top of that they raised the price form $45pp to $55pp. Sadly I will NEVER come back here. This is a rip off and a shadow of its former days. Keep this up Texas De Brazil and I am sure like all other restaurants in Ridge Hill, you will close your doors for good. read more

I had a reservation for 7:00 and i got there at 7:06, the hostess didn't acknowledged us, another staff member came and took my reservation even asked if it was an special occasion and told me that it was taking care off to step aside so that he could help someone else. At this point it was still before my grace period. After 30 minutes of waiting for my table I approached the hostess and she has no idea about my reservation.
