I recently visited this location and I had noticed when passing by the kitchen that no one behind the line was wearing a mask over their mouth and nose. A taste of Texas in Ann Arbor! Rolls are great and the peanuts are killer. Lots of country themed artifacts and sports on TV. Came here last weekend on Saturday night for dinner. Was craving ribs and the delicious rolls. There was a wait but I passed the time by eating the peanuts and picking out songs on the disc jockey. Our server took a few minutes to greet us after we were seated but she quickly redeemed herself by being super attentive and sweet. Our drinks were always full and we always had hot rolls, sooooo good. I had ribs and they were delicious the best part though was the super hot sweet potato on the side. Can't wait to go back. On a side note, the servers did a little dance when a certain song came on, they turned it up, it was fun. read more

Our first visit yielded a nice surprise. We snacked on peanuts in the shell while we awaited our order. Taylor was a very attentive server but forgot our rolls. Didn't matter as we had plenty to eat. The salty peanuts boosted the beer tab a bit. And draft beers were about a buck pricier than norm. The food arrived efficiently and was cooked perfectly. Taylor had us slice our steaks to ensure they were to our liking. I had a 12 oz ribeye of good quality and flavor and boosted this game by having the mushrooms as a free side dish instead of the 1.99 topping option. Assume it was the same quantity and sautéed variety. The baked potato was delicious with salted skins, loaded it with butter and sour cream. Next time I'll get it on the side. It was a very tasty meal and a high quality steak, but the sodium content was pretty high to push all that flavor out. The servers line danced every 45 min. Went around 1:30PM on a Sunday and it took forever for our food. We ordered two salads and the booth next to us (who had been seated about 20 minutes after us) received their steaks before we received our salads. Waitress was good, but I was so full on bread from waiting so long, I had little room for my entire by the time we received it. Chicken was luke warm on the salads so they had sat a while. Didn't leave until 3PM. For the price they charge, I'd rather have a nice dinner out than a crappy lunch here. read more

After a horrible and frankly, humiliating experience at Joe's Crab Shack, four of my friends and I came here to eat instead. I wish we would have come here 1st. Ok so admittedly I have never eaten here but let me tell you why. My son is turning 8 and chose this restaurant for his birthday dinner. We had 11 people so I called when they opened at 4 to get on the call ahead list early because our party is large. The person who answered told me that for 7pm I had to call at 6 or after but that when I called back I should speak to a manager due to the size of our party. Ok fine. I call at 6 and spoke to the manager who then informed me that they can not even seat a party that large. The largest party they can seat and guarantee that they will be together is six. That's bizarre to me but if that's the case fine but why did they not tell me this at 4?!! The manager suggested himself that perhaps he should inform the staff of this. Ya think?!? read more

This is the worst Texas Roadhouse we have ever been to. We brought 11 people at 4 PM (when it opened) and the manager acted annoyed. Cathy, the manager, didn't sit us at the same table. She gave us two separate booths ( behind each other). We had to ask to be moved closer together. Cathy said that she could not accommodate 11 people. Really? It just opened and there was not even a crowd. The manager was quite nasty that 11 people wanted to spend money at this restaurant.. Took husband here for his birthday the first time it was horrible and racist tool is 2 hours to receive are food. No one checked on us during that time we was the only blac k couple there they served like 4 people who came after us first before us. He didn't have a good bday we missed out movie also I was about to walk out but there was no where we can go that late. He was missed and I was too. They messed up his steaks and burned mine . My first visit to Texas Roadhouse was definitely a good experience. Upon arrival, it was very busy-but because there was only two of us we only waited about five minutes. (Friday evening at 7). We were seated and immediately waited on by a lovely girl who took our drink order. We each ordered frozen margaritas. Hers was a strawberry, extra shot on side of patron and mine was a raspberry. I really didn't like my drink-but hers was really good. (I think mine was week and hers, with the extra shot, perfect!) I believe they were about 7.00 (without the extra shot). We ordered loaded potato skins. They were pretty tasty-the norm-cheddar cheese, bacon, and sour creme. Oh I forgot the bread they brought when we were seated. Freshly made, biscuits, with an amazing cinnamon flavored butter! (If anyone knows what exactly the butter flavor is let me kno-as I'm guessing). This has to be the best bread I've ever had. I ate three rolls and had a hard time eating dinner!!!! Fast forward to dinner-my friend had a fire grilled t-bone. This steak was the biggest steak I've ever seen served in a restaurant. She allowed me a taste-and I'd wished I'd ordered that steak. Pricey at 24.99 but well worth it in size and flavor. It came with two sides hers were loaded mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli. I ordered the salmon and loaded mashed potatoes as well as steamed broccoli. Very good salmon, but it was on the small side, but I ordered the smaller one. I believe it was 11.99. The atmosphere was loud, music is country, and they play it louder when the servers dance! Yep good ole line dancing! Overall a great Friday night a great dinner and great conversation! This is as good as red lobster to us. The steaks are delicious, the sides and appetizers are amazing and the staff is incredibly friendly. Most places we go to do not properly cook a steak medium rare but this place does. read more

The food was not at all enjoyable. their Cesar salad was lacking one main ingredient, Cesar dressing, tasted like a horrible ranch dressing. their loaded baked potato was empty dry and terrible, barely the hint of sour cream or butter and the bacon (the few sprinkles) were obviously not real bacon (a lesser quality than bacos) steaks were cooked and served cold. a manager came to the table and asked how everything was. We told her and she said wow, can I get you anything else? We said no, paid our bill and left a 20% tip (it was not our waiters fault that he works in a terrible restaurant) Be warned and stay away!!!! As if restaurants themed upon stereotypes had not gone out of vogue, here's one based upon the biggest cliches of Texas. Combine the flair of a 1995 Chilis with loud country music and the entertainment value of a Microsoft retail store, and you have Texas Roadhouse. Yes, the wait staff dances for you at the top of the hour. You'll know when it is happening, they crank up the music really, really loud. All that aside, if that's your thing, then you'll enjoy it. But I was hungry and the disappointments continued. In our party, we ordered beef tips, a couple burgers, an 8oz sirloin and catfish. The burgers were done as ordered, juicy and no real complaints. The fries were big thick steak fries, but over-seasoned. In fact, everything seemed to be over-seasoned. I realize this may be keeping with the theme of "everything is bigger in Texas including the tastes", but I've been to Texas and this isn't what it tastes like. I could smell the beef tips dinner on my partner's clothing on the drive home, and I inquired as to the taste of the meal. The response was "okay, but way over-seasoned, it was like they dumped too much beef bullion in it". The green beans had chunks of bacon and were cooked nicely so they were firm, but the smoke flavoring was simply overpowering and off-putting. The catfish was overcooked so the meat was a thin wafer on hard breading. The coating was good, and that was fortunate in that is pretty much all you had to eat. It had to be sent back, the diner opted for nothing else. The 8 ounce sirloin was cooked as ordered, juicy but it too was over-seasoned, and way way too salty. Waitstaff was attentive and actually very very good. There are some bright spots here but clearly food (aside from peanuts) isn't the primary concern. read more

My roommate and I went her one day after work. We are both servers and understand when something goes wrong or takes a long time in a restaurant. Typically I never send food back either. I ordered an extra-rare ribeye. I told the server it can be placed on the grill for a second flipped and server. after 30 minutes and having to ask twice (my roommate orders medium rare) our steaks finally arrive....both are cooked extra well. They make new ones and the manager runs them out and states to me, "normally when someone orders extra rare it is a big bearded guy." I just didn't even know how to reply and my food was still over cooked but I accepted it. I felt the experience was very unprofessional, and no one truly cared about their job, or worked for their money. I should have to tell you I need more to drink, or ask you to take stacks of plates out of my way. If it is slow, food also shouldn't take that long to receive. read more

Went here on only their 4th night open. It was very busy, which is not surprising for a couple of reasons. 1. They are situated in a very high traffic area right in front of Meijer and a big shopping area. 2. The place is lit up like a beacon on Ann Arbor-Saline road! You could probably land planes by the light of this place. You can't miss it! We got in and were told 15-20 minutes and that is just about how long the wait was. We were seated in the bar area, which was fine and got a large table for just the 3 of us. The server was friendly and attentive. She didn't miss any training sessions for sure. When our steaks arrived, she had us check the doneness to make sure everything was good. A small mixup with my friends steaks as they had ordered the same kind just different doneness, which they easliy swapped. Mine, however, was cooked medium well when I had asked for medium rare. She was right on it and took the steak to the back. I ate my baked potato and mushrooms and shortly the manager brought me a new steak cooked perfectly, a new potato, and more mushrooms, and apologized profusely for the error. I was extremely pleased with the way they took care of the issue immediately and corrected the error and gave me more food than I could possibly eat! They may be new and working out the kinks in the kitchen but they definitely won me over as a fan by the way they responded!! Bravo, Texas Roadhouse, keep up the superb effort!!! read more

This is opening week for the A2 Texas Roadhouse. And, all I can say is WOW! We've dined at the Texas Roadhouse's in Westland, MI and Steubenville, OH and had very good experiences. But, our dinner this evening was way over the top. First, the wait was long due to the holiday rush and grand opening - they told us it would be 35 to 45 minutes - it was 32. There is a barrel of fresh roasted peanuts in the waiting area that you can munch on. While waiting I struck up a conversation with Kristin, one of the managers, she was super friendly and checked back on us when our meal was served. She treated us like family. I've put the review in numbered order to make it easier to read. 1. Check in. You can call ahead and get on the waiting list, not a reservation but saves you time. They give you a pager so you don't have to hear someone calling out your name. 2. When you're seated the host(ess) brings along fresh baked bread with their signature, delicious flavored butter. They make the bread right on the premises, you can watch them make it. 3. At the table there will be a bucket of those yummy, salted peanuts. You can't run out because the bucket is big enough and they'll bring more if you do. 4. The menu's are on the table, similar to a diner, but that's where the similarity ends. It's handy and easy to add something later if you want. 5. Our server was Sydney. Very friendly and super attentive. She took our drink order immediately. She didn't automatically bring ice water and we didn't want any, but I'm sure she would have if we had asked. Drinks came out very quickly. 6. When the drinks came out she took our order. We both ordered the sirloin steak and shrimp. Our sides were the baked potato, Caesar salad, green beans and mixed vegetables. 7. The steak was cooked exactly as ordered and covered in perfectly caramelized onions and sauteed mushrooms. It was tender and delicious. There were 5 large shrimp, grilled and seasoned nicely. The shrimp are served on a toasted roll, which was also delicious. The Caesar salad was perfect, just the right amount of dressing and shredded cheese. The green beans have bacon and a flavored broth on them - which of course made them very good. The mixed veggies were carrots and steamed broccoli. 8. Price: Very reasonable! Food and service quality are disproportionately good considering the cost. Our entire meal with soda and iced tea was $47. We took home enough for another large meal for one person. So, the food was very, very good. My wife said she can't remember the last time she enjoyed a dinner out as much as tonight. But, the food paled in comparison to the service. There had to be 60 or 70 employees working this evening. It became a game to see how long it would take before I put a dish near the edge of the table and when it was taken - it never went over 5 seconds - I'm not kidding or exaggerating. We must have had 10 different people take dirty dishes, bring drinks, ask how our meal was, ask if we needed anything else. And, Sydney noted that we really liked their bread and so when she brought our check she also brought us an order of bread to go! What a sweetie! We were very impressed with the way she served us. To top it off, every single person was friendly. We're talking about a packed restaurant in opening week with 60 people in the waiting area the week before Christmas - and everyone was friendly. That is not easy to do. So, hat's off to Texas Roadhouse. We will be back again and again. read more

They would turn the music up so loud intermittently that you couldn't even talk to someone sitting next to you. Small children in the booth next to us even started to scream because it was so loud. Not Celiac friendly. Managers were clueless and place was disorganized. We had a gift card so we thought we would try out the new Texas Roadhouse in our area. The line to be seated was extremely long even though there were many open tables so we sat at the bar. It didn't make sense because servers were just standing around. When I got seated I asked for a gluten free menu and the server said they didn't have one. Our server also told us nothing they had was gluten free. I should have just left then. I didn't because my husband wanted to eat there I ended up trying to look up the gluten free menu online. About five minutes later a manager came over with a "Gluten Friendly " menu. I eventually ordered a steak salad and as per the menu I was given reminded them of my gluten issue and ordered it without croutons, seasoning or dressing other than oil and vinegar. When my salad came I started to eat and found a crouton in it. For anyone who cannot have gluten, this entirely ruins your meal. When the manager stopped by to ask how our food was I told him what happened. He asked if there was just one or several. I explained that I only saw one so far but I couldn't eat it with croutons he said he could make me a steak since it would be faster. At that point I was just disgusted. I had ordered a salad but they messed that up and then couldn't make it right. I told him just to take it back and I didn't want anything else. I wasn't going to take another chance and didn't want to have to wait for more food to come out . I wanted to eat with my husband . The Manager did bring me a slip for a free entree for a future visit, but I will not use it, not if i can't even eat the food. After my husband finished eating it took forever for him to get the bill for his food and then he couldn't even get the server to bring him change. We eventually just left without getting change.
