Birthdays are special in our house and the birthday person gets the privilege of selecting where they want to go eat. For the younger ones, there is still a limit as to what choices they may have. For example, most fast food restaurants are NOT going to be an option. So, when our youngest opted for Texas Roadhouse, I figured that we were raising her right. Having additional family along, we were a party of seven and arrived exactly at 4pm when they opened. The country music was at the right sound level and the greeters did their best to make us feel welcome immediately. We had chosen not to do the call ahead seating, but we were still seated within 3 or 4 minutes of arrival. Our waitress was new and it was obvious that she was more than a little nervous. However, we decided to try and break the ice with a little humor. Each of our party had ordered and she dutifully wrote down each thing so she would not forget. I told her that I would like water on the rocks - shaken, not stirred. She proceeded to put pen to paper when she realized what I had asked and she started laughing. The drinks were brought promptly and the peanuts and bread rolls were available just for the asking. We each placed our order and it arrived quickly and was hot. I tried something different by ordering a baked potato without any salt crusted on the outside. It was PERFECT. I was even able to eat every bit of the skin. If you like steak, I would recommend spending a little bit more and getting the ribeye. It is well marbled and the outside edge of the steak had just a bit of a crusty edge along the fatty sides. The flavor was incredible and medium well had just the right amount of pink. You could cut the steak with a fork. Throughout our meal, our new waitress was a great sport putting up with the strange requests from our table. After expressing "disappointment" that the baked potatoes did not come with whipped cream on the top, she insisted that she would inform the management of this deficiency and she was "certain" it would be corrected on our next visit. Overall, the service was great, the food was incredible, and we walked away quite content. In addition, for the birthday girl, they brought the saddle for her to sit on and made a big deal about it by giving her a great big Texas Roadhouse "yee-haw!" I ordered a pretty basic meal earlier this evening. My plan was to get a rare steak and a side, when the meal arrived I was disappointed. The steak was well done. Very clean and super fast service despite how crowded they were! Our waitress was very attentive and kept our glasses full and made sure we were taken care of throughout our visit. Great place for kids because the music is loud so if your kids are loud no one will be able to hear them lol kids menu had options for all appetites and picky eaters. We love Texas Roadhouse but unfortunately last time we ate there we had an unexpected guest by our table... and it was really gross! I really hope they start spraying more often to get rid of them. Wasn't our best visit. My boyfriend ordered his steak well done and it came out medium. The manager lady didn't want to make a new one after we repeatedly asked.. She oviously hasnt eatin a steak the was"put back on the grill" before . You just dont do that! If she wasn't so rude it wouldnt be such a problem. This one of my favorite places to go for an off-busy hour meal. During regular meal times, forget it. It's too loud and crowded to be enjoyable. It can also be like the Restaurant version of Wal Mart, I'm honesty surprised I haven't seen somebody there eating while wearing pajamas and crocs. That aside, it's great food. We got there and it was busy, but the wait was very short. Got sat down and it took about 5 minutes for someone to come and bring drinks. The waiter was very nice and very thorough with everything. He made sure we had what we needed every few minutes. He apologized when we were getting ready to leave cause he hadn't checked on us for like 5 minutes. We had both ordered steaks and they were cooked perfect. We both had salads and I had some rotten lettuce in mine and that was gross. I had mashed potatoes and there was a huge chuck of black, rotten potatoes in mine. The Cheyenne Texas Road House is hit and miss. I have had some really great steaks there, and some really bad ones. Unfortunately in the last couple of months it's more miss than hit. They almost always they use too much salt. At least on the baked potatoes you can scrap it off, but the steaks are almost always too salty too. It's usually to the point that it can ruin a perfectly cooked steak. I order medium rare and 50% of the time they get it right. They do tend to over cook it a bit though. Tonight I had a 12oz New York and instead of the long, narrow, thick strip you usually see it was wide and flat. This must have thrown the cooks it off because the steak came out well done. Not to mention I like a nice thick NY, not one as thin as a sirloin. Even the salad tonight was meh. A caesar with no croutons and almost no dressing. (TRH croutons are great too, the best part of the salad.) On the plus side the service is usually great, even when they are busy, and they always seem to be busy. We went here in May 2012 and had the bone-in ribeye which was cooked perfectly. We had salads and the dressing was delicious and made in house. What I liked is that when they sit you they bring the bread and set it down on the table immediately so you are never left sitting with nothing. The service was exceptional. Our waitress was Jennifer. This was the best service we have had in Cheyenne so far. Jennifer was right on top of everything. I'm truly depressed. I left California for a lot of reasons and i don't regret any of them. But one thing i didn't expect was to come to the cowboy state and be let down by the one and only restaurant I've ever been to that has held a stable track record of outstanding quality and service. Of the dozens and dozens of meals I've had at California Texas roadhouse locations, only a few have had an issue and they were minor, and the managers all made a personal appearance at the table to make it right. Not here.... Not this location... 2 for 2 here, the worst steaks I've ever had from a roadhouse branch and they actually argued with me about my dissatisfaction! Take tonight for instance. I hand selected my ribeye to be the thickest one they had in the case. Must have been over an inch thick at least. When i finally got my steak it was no more than 1/2-3/4" thick at best. I'm a pitmaster at home. Steak doesn't get thinner, it gets thicker when you cook it... It shrinks up around the edges and gets fat in the center. Not this one.. I don't know what sorcery is happening in their kitchen but i was flabbergasted at what came to my plate. Thin, dry and tough as leather. Then she argues with me about how they made sure they gave me the right steak. Impossible! Not on your life sister! Not unless the chef took the steak in the back and threw it on a meat slicer and butterflied it in half! So disappointed. I may have lost my appetite for the roadhouse and that depresses the shit out of me... read more

Can't go wrong here. Good bar and restaurant. Always busy and has a fun/ noisy vibe. I go for the prime rib.

The steaks were not cooked to order and came out to the table at about room temperature. One steak was overcooked, another was undercooked. The worst part of the meal was the attitude of the staff. Kelly, our server did not solve our problem. So we spoke to a manager, Allison, who also did not solve our problem. We were not greeted on the way in or out. The expierence was so bad that I feel that the management has a new policy of sending customers away because they are not welcome at Texas Roadhouse. read more

I'm from outta town and wanted a steak. It was completely packed and we were able to be seated within 15 min. During the wait we got to watch a little goat farm behind the resturant. I've been to many different Texas Roadhouse restaurants, and I still have to say my favorite is this one. Each and every time we've been in here, the steaks have always been cooked perfectly the way we want them, the service has always been amazing, and I really can't think of anything negative to say about this restaurant. Wow! This Tx Roadhouse was the best! We had just moved to town and they asked if we'd ever been there before, so we said no. And they brought over a sampler of beans, mashed potatoes, and mushrooms and onions, then brought over some ribs for us to try. By the time our meal came I took half home. One of the best places to eat in Cheyenne! Delicious food and great service. We enjoy the food at Texas Roadhouse, the hot rolls with cinnamon butter are fabulous, steaks always good but just way to noisy.

We know we will get a good steak dinner whenever we go to Texas Roadhouse. We sit at the bar top and get prompt service. I noticed the bartender was grabbing the dirty glasses at the rim and then grabbing those tubes at the top from the plastic bag. Pretty gross. I also noticed the printed order for drinks is laid on the top of the drinks when completed. There is ink on those receipts. I would think the health department wouldn't approve of what I saw Saturday evening. read more
