For my first experience here (even though I've lived five mins from here for three years now) I've never been to Texas Roadhouse but always noticed the packed parking lot. I heard good things about it from friends and family who have visited other Texas Roadhouse restaurant chains in diff states, so I decided to give it a shot even though I was hesitant with the reviews on yelp. Which is pretty surprising considering how many customers they get and there aren't many people raving or reviewing the food. We went around 4pm on a Saturday and there was quite a handful of people waiting. The hostess told us it'll be about 20 minutes or so. So we sat down and glanced at the menu they offered while you wait. Nice touch. After about four minutes our buzzer went off which meant a table had just become available. "That was quick!" I said surprised. The host greeted us nicely and asked if we've been here before as she guided us to our table. She told us to enjoy our meals and gave us our menus and bread. The place is well lit, not too dark or bright. Wasn't too loud and you get enough space from other patrons. I like that. The bread rolls were golden and warm, very buttery and perfect sized. We were starving so we ate that. There was also some sort of sweet cinnamon paste they give you with it. It was good but the bread was fine on its own too! Our server Shy showed up and introduced himself. He was kind and very accommodating. Whether we had questions about the menus or recommendations he really came through for us on that. I ordered the country fried chicken with white gravy sauce. Also a side of buttery corn and mashed potatoes. The mash was okay, it was good but nothing too different. The meal was nice, a little salty but I expected that from my fried chicken dish. I enjoyed everything and we were able to ask for more bread! :) The sangria margarita was sweet and bitter but great, it was also frozen. My friend ordered the salmon and that was cooked delightfully! Can't complain there. She ordered the Hurricane margarita, it was sweet but prob one of most enjoyable on the list, not tart or sour, just sweet. Our server came back and checked on us in good timing, overall we had a really great experience. Especially with it being my first time there. I definitely look forward to checking it out next time to try out their burger or catfish dish! read more

My hubby and I had a 5-star experience at this TR location yesterday. Stella was our server; she was phenomenal: friendly and efficient. My hubby got the ginormous T-bone, and I ordered the veggie platter with two loaded baked potatoes. Not only did Stella deliver on my extra butter request, but she practically Paula-Deened me! Stella is now my new girl crush! The atmosphere was nice, too. Definitely one of the cleanest TRs I've ever been to, and the bathroom was exceedingly tidy. I wasn't expecting much based on the 2.5-star rating, but I was pleasantly surprised. I don't want to minimize other peoples' unpleasant experiences, but maybe this location was just going through a learning curve? Anyway, I'm glad Middletown's TR exceeded my expectations. My family took me out for Mother's Day. 3 adults, 2 kids. We waited well over an hour for our main course. My kids were starving and impatient so I had to try to entertain the. When the food arrived my prime rib was room temp and my loaded baked potato was so cold that the cheese didn't melt. They still charged full price. I won't go back. read more

I would have gave this a 3.5 if possible but mainly to little issues. I was in town visiting family so we decided to go here since it was one of my favorites back in NC. The wait was quoted at 15 minutes but we were buzzed around 5 minutes later. We were taken to a table that was still dirty and our waitress handled it well but you could tell she was frustrated. She took us to another table and gave us our utensils and left us with our Menu . We realized this table was dirty as well so we had to ask someone to wipe it down. Our waitress was great and very attentive. Our napkins for our utensils were dirty , almost to the point that you wouldn't have thought it was washed. My mom ordered the pork chop and the loaded potato sweet potato with the caramel sauce. The pork chop was superb according to her but the sweet potato was a little TOO sweet. I had the salmon with the side salad and the loaded baked potato (hold the bacon). Everything was good but the potato was wayyyyyy too loaded with butter, sour cream , and cheese . Sunday 10/17/21 Came in tonight for dinner. Found seating at the bar. Bree was our bartender. She was efficient and friendly. The staff congregated at the bar and it looked like one of the bartenders (friend/boy friend) had taken up 2-3 seats of the bar and all the staff were coming over to sit/talk. The managers were in and out and part of that group as well. Not quite the enjoyable experience that we have come to expect from Roadhouse. I ordered the New York strip 8 oz cut and my spouse ordered the 12 oz ribeye. When the steaks arrived, my strip looked like a sirloin cut and was over cooked. The party to my left had also ordered the strip and experienced the same thing. A strip that looked like the sirloin. When I brought it to Brees attention she took it back to the kitchen. When my second New York strip was delivered by the manager, it still looked like a sirloin. I could tell it was the top half of the strip and stated as much to the manager. He explained that they take the whole strip loin and cut it in half down the middle. To get the 8oz strip. It looked more like they had started to run short on the strip and cut the 12 oz in half. He told me that Texas Roadhouse taught them to cut it down the middle that way. I told them that I didn't want the steak so they removed it from the table, but not my bill. We had to request it be taken off after the bill was presented. I guess they were to busy watching the Cowboys. As a side note, the Ribeye was delicious. read more

Very good place. I had a delicious 20oz bone in ribeye. They will let you pick your steak if you want to. Very friendly service with a smile. We used the call ahead seating from the app and only had to wait about 10 minutes once we got there. read more

If I could rate this location under 1 star I would. Trust me when I say I took Covid into consideration when writing this review. What I've experienced tonight is completely unacceptable service. I ordered takeout from here and was quoted a 8:07 pickup time for my 3 meals. My boyfriend went to pick it up and at 8:30 he was told it would be another 5 minutes for the food. I'm typing this post post because we did not receive our food until 45 minutes after our quoted time. Now I myself am a line cook at a restaurant and I understand how things can get during these times. However, 45 minutes over a Togo time is RIDICULOUS and UNACCEPTABLE. My brother had an issue with this location last year and i thought things would've improved but I was sadly mistaken. Now I love Texas Roadhouse but I will never go to this location again after this experience. Your staff is rude and the food took entirely too long. read more

My wife and I visited for a late dinner 2/9/19 around 9pm. We didn't even make it our server coming to the table. I think they were to busy talking with the table behind us. My family and I went to TR here in Middletown for the first time yesterday after a day of errands and it was one of the most maddening and annoying dining experiences of my life. Instead of having a pleasant dinner with my family where we eat together, we did the tango of "one parent eat while other parent soothe infant" because of the abysmally-slow kitchen and unresponsive manager on duty. Pros: the taste of the food, when it finally arrived, was fine; clean restroom; friendly waitstaff. Cons: Screwed up our place in the wait line; Kitchen was pathetically slow; Manager on Duty (male in blue ball cap) was completely unconcerned, unresponsive, dismissive to the problems we experienced with our meal... I'd even go so farther as to say he was kind of a jerk. Arrival & Ordering: We arrived at 5:25, were told it would be about 20-25 minutes, took the electronic thing and proceeded to wait. At about 6:10, with no "buzzing" for the table having happened, I went up to the host/hostess stand to inquire... Come to find out that the hostess who set me up with the wait marker thing never actually put us into the computer. She just said "It'll be 20-25 minutes", handed me the marker, and that was that... So we waited extra, which isn't a horrible thing, but when you intentionally went earlier because you've got a 5-yr old and a 7-mo old, time isn't a luxury. We sit down, server finally arrives, we place our order (6:35) and wait for it to arrive. And wait... and wait... and wait... and wait. A ticket time of 60 minutes is darn-near unforgivable, in my book. Food Ordered: Wife had the beef tips... They were fine and relatively unmemorable... This was our first time at this location, so I ordered what should be a pretty standard meal of Ft. Worth Ribeye, baked potato, and vegetables. Like the rest of the food, my steak arrived nearly an hour after the order was placed. The steak itself was approaching cool and had clearly been sitting too long. I complained politely about this, the waitress apologized, and said she'd get a new one ordered up right away. A minute or two later, the manager, in his baseball cap and fleece actually asked me if instead of a new steak, did I just want him to warm the now-cool steak back up! Management: I swear to God I'm not a dining prima donna... I'm not wealthy and dining out with my family is not exactly a regular occurrence. When things go south like they did with this experience (screwing up the seating; 50-minute ticket time; cold ribeye; management unconcerned/unwilling to extend an olive branch), I'm not a screaming jerk. That being said, I find it nearly unforgivable for the Manager's only action at making things right being asking "Sure you don't want me to just warm it back up?". No discount, no comping the kids meal, no asking if we want a desert on the house... Not a freakin' thing. Not even an apology for things being as screwed up as they were. Our waitress couldn't stop apologizing, but that manager acted like my family should've been grateful that he graced our table with his presence! It is highly unlikely that we will ever return to this Texas Roadhouse location. I hope my experience is an isolated one, but not sure I'll be willing to take a chance on that. read more

My wife and went here for the first time Saturday night 12-30. I ate the ribeye and must say it excellent. My on the other hand had a very different experience, she had the full rack of ribs. That had yo be the driest hardest rack of ribs I have ever seen (hell no I didn't eat them) my wife gave it a try but could make it happen. I one of those people that don't believe in complaining and sending food back in restaurants and have them bring me more. I much rather throw it away and move on. Because you never know what they do to your food when they are mad, so I just deal with it and keep it moving. anyway we talk to the waiter he brought us another half slab, but she didn't eat it she took it home and tossed it. Secondly we had little small creatures (roach) crawling around on our table. Good thing we didn't see it while we were eating we didn't see it until after we were getting ready to leave. I ended up using cocktail menu and smashing the critter. So look out for the little spot on the cocktail menu if you decide to eat here because it may be some bug juice. The manager was nice about it though he end up taking off her ribs and my beverage off the bill. read more

I believe this is the 3rd or 4th weekend it's been open, and it's new, and it's Texas Roadhouse, and it's Middletown, so it was packed. Parking lot was totally full.. we parked in a semi-muddy grass/dirt field next to the parking lot with about 40 other cars. We called ahead, were given a buzzer/beeper, and were seated within 10 minutes of arriving. CALL AHEAD!!!! The wait at 6:30 on a Friday night was almost an hour and a half. CALL AHEAD!!! Service was fast, efficient, and VERY friendly. Tons of bus boys walking around, the manager checked on us, our host was friendly, making small talk on our way to the table. Our waitress was good - got us what we needed and quickly. Can you tell I like efficiency? The food was OK. This is why it was not five stars. I ordered a simple 8 oz. sirloin steak cooked medium. It came looking great on the outside, but had to have been somewhere between rare and medium rare. I can do medium rare, but the middle was extremely red, soft and mushy... not how this guy enjoys a steak. This is Texas Roadhouse. They specialize in steak. I've been to the Dover location probably close to ten times, and they've never screwed up my steak. I think some of the reason it was under cooked had to do with the rush, but Texas Roadhouse, you are a steak place, among other things. Don't screw up my steak!! Got the side of corn and it sat in a puddle of butter and pepper? Loaded with pepper! My wife's food was good - the chicken critters are delicious at this place. Can never go wrong with the loaded baked potato and the caesar salad was good as well. I'll be back again - it's so close! Service was friendly, food was mostly good, and it's a fun place to be. The food tasted horrible. If you like a salt lick with a side of burger this is the place to go. I love fries and could not even stomach to eat them because they were so salty. It was also our first time which the waitress knew; she didn't explain any specials or even make sure we had peanuts, silverware, or straws. The service was really slow; here we're eating a TON of salt and get no refills, even when we asked she forgot. We got the onion appetizer and there was about half an inch of grease in the bottom of the bowl. GROSS, can't believe I ate that! It is a very mediocre experience here - the steaks are not always cooked to order, the staff tries - they are friendly but I don't think they are a very organized restaurant. First couple of times were ok experiences. This latest time we went was the worst. We waited FOREVER while EVERYONE around us got their meals. The waitress never apologized or even recognized anything was wrong and kept avoiding our table. Then when the food FINALLY came the steak was ok and dry. She didn't even take our drinks off of the bill as an apology for the service. I much rather get fantastic service and a delicious steak from the Bear location then Middletown's. Well despite all the bad review we decided to go anyway. Once again we have not been let down at all. Our waiter shy was a nice friendly guy and we were pleased w him. The atmosphere is loud but not so loud you can't hear each other. The prices are very reasonable!where else can you throw peanut shells on the ground and not get weird looks. I used to go to Texas Roadhouse in Bensalem, PA. I always had a great experience and our steaks we're cooked perfectly. I like a medium and my wife likes a medium well. I have been to the Middletown, DE location at least 10 times over the years, and they always get my wife's order wrong. My steak has been overcooked more often than not, and undercooked a few times, but never just right. My wife's steak is always undercooked, and her sides are always cold. It wouldn't be so bad if it didn't take so long to cook the food. By the time you get your over or undercooked steak, you don't want to send it back because you are so hungry. The location definitely needs better cooks and better management. read more

So since we are all in Covid-19 and stuck in our houses and tired of cooking meals, people are utilizing restaurants to get quality food, which also helps these restaurants to stay in business. Texas Roadhouse fails to deliver quality foods in a consistent manner probably because they know people are not going to bring the sub-par food back to them. Mind you, their food is not cheap. If I was in the restaurant I'd have the option of telling the wait staff that my chicken is stone cold and dry and tastes and cuts like it was cooked yesterday. This has happened to me twice in a month's time and I guess I'll have to stop my patronage of the Middletown Texas Roadhouse. So very disappointing on a Sunday evening as this is the day we generally go to/order pick-up from them. read more

We have tried out thus newer Roadhouse about 6 times. not any of our dining experiences have been good or add up to the food and service at the Roadhouse on RT40 in Bear, De. not once has our steaks ever come out correct, not to mention, not once has the general manager / proprieter ever come out to speak with us about the food or the issues we encounter. I am sure this location will survive based on the traffic in this area of Middletown. Even though this location is convienent we will take the short drive to the Bear location over this one anyday. read more

You have to solve a rubix cube, drive around the building, go up 301, make a u-turn, sit through a red light, listen to Black Sabbath backwards during a lunar eclipse before an entrance appears for only a few moments. On the positive... plenty of parking, no wait, friendly & quick waiter/waitresses, plenty of seating and great location. Clean bathrooms, large selection on menu and awesome rolls with butter! Free peanuts too. On the negative.... salty chili, over cooked meat, sautéed mushrooms and onions were room temperature and bland. Loaded mashed potatoes were on the cold side. Celebrated my birthday there with my family. The service was excellent and we had a great waiter. He was very attentive and accommodating. However, I was disappointed with my T-bone steak. I requested medium well and it came out super well done. It was dry with very little taste. For a restaurant that is supposed to specialize in steaks it was a big disappointment. I let the waiter know about it and he was very apologetic. He sent the "manager" to our table. However they never addressed themselves as the manager and never asked about the steak. She asked about our waiter, who was excellent. I had no idea who she was. I thought she was another server who happened to passing by. I'm not sure I will return to that particular restaurant. I like Texas Roadhouse and never had a problem with their food in the past. I'll just go to a different location next time. read more

Well, even though I said my wife and I would never eat at this restaurant again, we did. As usual, they let us down. My wife ordered the ribeye steak, medium rare, and I ordered the chicken. Need I go on to say the steak was red raw. We told the Manager, who then ordered another one. The second one was well done. Now the Kitchen Manager comes out and we explain to him our dilemma. He said he would take it off the check and then brought out another one for us to take home. Even that was well done! For a restaurant to have as their core brand, why can't they cook steak according to what the customer asks for? The qaulity of the meat has gone down since we first started going there (4yrs). I love Texas Roadhouse and usually go to the one in Bear or Camden. Love both of them. Today was first time i went to one in Middletown and I wound up walking out and canceling my order Sat at the bar and ordered NY Strip, baked potato and a Caesar salad. Drank two tall beers and saw two people who ordered way after me (one customer wasn't even in the the restaurant yet when I ordered ) get their entrees and I still hadn't gotten my salad. Bartender was clueless that I hadn't gotten it yet and acted shocked when I told her. I have never been in a TR before that I didn't have the salad within 15 or 20 minutes..until today that is. They comped my beer but I'll never go back to this one. read more

Bathrooms were clean and it was really nice that the bathroom is designed in a way that the sinks and hand dryers work for both adults and children.
