Truly Outstanding. Excellent service - attentive without meddling. The pace of the meal was right on time - not rushed, plenty of time to enjoy our salads without watching our meal get cold. The food itself was excellent. My full rack of ribs was tender as could be. Wife's ribeye was cooked as ordered and full of flavor. Great sides, decent portions, plenty of free parking and a reasonable price. Add in the Military Discount, the free meal for Veteran's Day and the place gets two thumbs way up! read more

"Please Fire Manager Jeff". This was our second visit to Texas Roadhouse. My newlywed husband & I had had a date at this restaurant a week earlier and enjoyed the atmosphere and food immensely. However on our second date we had a an extremely disturbing experience. Like the previous week, I ordered a virgin Bloody Mary as I am a diabetic. I love the taste of a Bloody Mary even without the vodka. As our before dinner drink, my husband ordered Scotch. Unlike the previous week where we had sat at the bar to place our drink orders, this time we were immediately seated as it was not crowded. The young server (maybe his name was Wyatt, but I am not sure) informed me that the restaurant does not serve virgin drinks. I let him know I had 2 the previous week while sitting at the bar. He said he would check with the bartender. My husband and I enjoyed conversation while deciding our dinner order. We were stunned when the manager came to the table instead of the server. His demeanor showed he was ready for some sort of fight. Understand, we had never requested to speak to the manager nor expected any type of confrontation as I told him as well. In a tone of extreme authority he told us the restaurant does not serve virgin drinks. I told him I had no problem ordering 2 the previous week. He reinstated that it is "company policy" to not serve virgin drinks. I told him I am am a diabetic and cannot drink alcohol, but I love the taste of the drink, and I am willing to pay full price despite no alcohol. He angrily and forcefully reiterated the same response. I asked him why the bartender could simply not add the vodka to my drink. He sternly said it is not allowed. Then he got angrier and asked me to tell him the name of the bartender who served my virgin drinks the previous week. I told him that I do not know the name of the bartender, but if I had known, I would never have given her name as it is very unprofessional for him to ask a customer to "tell on" the bartender. He continued angrily asking so he could "take it up with the bartender". I was stunned that I was continuing to be sternly reprimanded by a manager who I had not even requested to see. I told the manager again that I am a diabetic. His condescending response, "Then you can order a soft drink!" Well. I was so humiliated about continually being spoken down to, I started crying. He asked if my husband and I will be staying. My husband told the manager that we would decide. I tried to keep from crying but the whole experience was so demeaning and humiliating. The only saving factor was a different server who came to our table. Her name is Shawn. She was very compassionate at how I was feeling. It is only because of Shawn that we stayed for our dinner. I ordered a soft drink as I had no other choice according to her boss. We gave Shawn a huge tip for doing her best to turn our date around. I am not sure if we will ever return to this restaurant, unless Jeff is no longer a manager. If we do, we will request Shawn every time. read more

This is the umpteenth time that we have gone to this particular TR and each time the food varies. When this TR first opened their steaks were of good quality, tasty, tender, thick, juicy, and correctly cooked. The past few times we have eaten there, the steaks were thin, tough, dry, tasteless, and not cooked to order. More importantly, it seems as though the quality of the meat has changed as well as the skill level and quality of the cooks. When told about the steak, the server was apologetic. A few minutes later a guy came to our table and asked how our meal was. I had the impression that he was the shift manager, but he never introduced himself. He asked if we wanted another steak, but since we were finished with our meal, why would we? So he just walked away. We are done with this particular TR. read more

This is by far the worst dining experience I have ever had. Our waitress (Shawn-female) basically would not serve us, we never got to eat. First of all, my son loves their rolls. They weren't going to serve us any, we had to ask for them several times. It took over 20 minutes to get an iced tea, a soda and a beer. We placed our order for our food at the same time we ordered drinks. We ordered a Dallas filet and a pork chop meal. After 45 minutes the plates were brought out. The helper tried to give us a sirloin and pulled pork. We told her this was not what we ordered. Then they sent a man out, in an apparent attempt to intimidate us into accepting meals that were not what we ordered! There is a big difference between a dallas filet and a sirloin, and that is reflected in the prices on the menu. An 8 oz dallas fillet is $18.99, while the sirloin is $11.99. A $7 difference, and yet it was insisted that we accept the lesser steak. Which by the way was not even cooked to how the Dallas filet was ordered. Then there is the issue that we ordered a grilled pork chop, not pulled pork. In this case the tastes are very different, and the pork chop was for a child that is a picky eater. There was no way he was going to eat the pulled pork. Plus, we went to dinner to eat what we wanted, not what the wait staff wanted to force upon us. We had to argue with 3 different staff members to try to get our meal. It never came. There were no managers to be found. We ended up leaving without eating. The waitress actually expected us to pay for the meal. She acted like she was doing us a huge favor by having us pay for the drinks, but not the food that we NEVER received. And that she obviously had no intention of serving us. Shawn needs to be fired, she is not even capable of working at McDonald's. I view this as fraudulent in nature as well, trying to switch out a lesser cut of steak for a more expensive one is a great way to increase profits but lose a customer. We had been going to Texas Roadhouse for years. We have never had this bad an experience. read more

UPDATE: Management has made a good faith effort to rectify the problem. Will update again after revisiting. Well... I can't comment on the food, but it's not for lack of trying. On a Saturday evening, I called ahead at 3:20 to arrive at 4:20. Got there on time, got our pager, was told the wait would be 5-10 minutes. Sounds awesome! 25 minutes later, nothing. By this time, my young kids are starting to lose it. Checked in with the hostess and told 10-20 more minutes. How did the remaining wait time get longer than what they originally told me? 25 minutes later, my whole family is on edge. We've been waiting 50 minutes! Keep in mind we were told 5-10 and we called an hour ahead. I returned inside to hand in my pager and told the employee, "I just can't wait any more." Her reply was, "Ok, that's fine," in the most apathetic tone imaginable. Obviously, she didn't care. I get that it's Texas Roadhouse and the wait times are generally long, but they ought to be straight with people. There's no way your wait goes from 5-10 minutes to an hour and it's an estimation error. No one is that dumb. And what the hell was the point of call-ahead seating? If I go to Texas Roadhouse any time soon, it will be at the Bear location. read more

My son ordered a half slab of ribs that he couldn't even eat they were so tough, fatty & over cooked! I had ordered grilled BBQ chicken that was dry & served without any barbecue sauce! I WORK AT THE TEXAS ROADHOUSE IN NEW JERSEY. on my way back from vacation I decided to stop at the txrdh in Middletown Delaware. It was down right awful! The host did not make eye contact. No friendly greeting was made. They did not follow the HEART rules or the 10 and 5 rule. Our waiter, Wyatt, had a huge cut on his hand. It was not bandaged or covered up. The service was slow. I ordered the chicken critter meal and it was extremely skimpy! Usually the whole plate is full with fluffy breaded chicken and it was like they brought me a kids meal. (I'll post the picture below) and my girlfriend got the country fried chicken with a side of gravy and mash potatoes. By the time we actually got her food, her gravy had been sitting out so long it had a top filmy layer. And while leaving the restaurant, the hosts are suppose to say"have a goodnight" or "have a good day". Instead the two hosts up at the stand were on their phone and were looking down at the floor screen. Not to mention, I asked Wyatt to give me the employee discount (that is valid at any Roadhouse) and showed him my clock in card and he did not give me the discount. So I paid full price for terrible food that I know for a fact is cooked and served way better. All in all I will never eat their again. I'll have to get my manager to go in there and straighten them up. That was terrible and it gives all Texas Roadhouses a bad name. This was my favorite steak house but the last two times I was there I got a steak that was cooked for someone else & got wormed up for me. I get my steaks well done & for a well done steak it was to cold & they claim it takes 12 min for a well done steak to be ready but I got mine in a few minutes after ordering it. So if you are young & look a bit un experienced when it come to steak be ready to get a cold steak. This was my last time coming to this place. read more

Oh they will tell you they are sorry but after subsequent visits twice more it's the same problems over and over. Went on a Saturday night and the wait for a table was 60 minutes. We were told between 65 and 75 minutes. Once seated our waitress came right over and got our beverage order. Once she came back with our drinks we ordered. Everything was just as ordered and tasted great. I ordered a salad without cheese and my dressing on the side and that's how it came out. I liked that the salad plate was cold and didn't have a puddle of water at the bottom of the bowl. The steak was perfect and very reasonable for the cut (20 oz bone in ribeye). And who doesn't love a crispy bloomin onion. The bread was more like a donut, filled with sugar and the lemonade was mostly chemicals. I'll be back for the steak, however, the problem with this place is the service: clearly, the are struggling to read you the script they've been forced to memorize, and say things like "which from scratch dressing".. Their lines and the restaurant, in general, is filled with tricks to manipulate customers. It would be allot better if they dropped the gimmicks and let the staff be honest and natural and be themselves. Maybe let them dress themselves also. Having been to a few locations it is always a good experience. This was the first time at this newer location the service was good, the place was clean, and the food was very good. A general note about all the locations I have been too the tables are close together and are mostly booths which can make the ease of getting a disabled person comfortable can be difficult. read more

I hate to leave a bad review, but I feel like it must be done to ensure the staff and management becomes aware of certain issues. I went a few weeks ago with a group of my friends. We are young (under 21) and this is frequently an issue when going out to eat or even shop as servers and retail personnel tend to assume the worst, that you could be stealing or trying to dine and dash. Our server was friendly enough and the food was decent, however when we received our checks there was a large qr code and instructions to pay online. We waited about 7 minutes for our server to return, but after she didn't we just assumed we were meant to pay on our phones. We all paid and left fairly generous tips. As we were leaving, our server chased us down and accused us of not paying for our meal, even though we insisted we paid online. Not only did this cause a scene, it was incredibly embarrassing as well. She forced us to wait while she checked the computer to ensure we paid and after she realized she had been mistaken, merely said "oh well you weren't supposed to do that". No thank you, no apology for assuming we were kids trying to get away with a free meal. If you are going to have an option to pay online, please make sure you either explain it to the customers or train your staff on how to handle it to prevent such a humiliating experience. read more

This only the second month this location has been open so I'm giving 2 stars instead of one. First of all the staff is totally unprofessional I think our waitress was the only one there over 17 but she was pleasant. It's okay to have a high school crowd serve you as long as they are well trained but here there is a McDonald's party atmosphere. My chilly had some good seasonings but was lukewarm at best. I ordered a 16oz club steak Medium rare which was more rare almost uncooked inside but the steak was decent after dousing it with salt and pepper. Fries were cold and soggy almost under cooked. Perhaps they were made way in advance to save time. Country music was way too loud making it very difficult to have a normal conversation. I might venture there again in a few months and hopefully they will get thief act together. read more

Our server tried his best but it's obvious the management staff took the night off. Plus every 5 minutes the staff was shouting for someone's birthday "Yee Haw". Just an irritating experience. From busboy to management I have worked in the restaurant industry for many years, I know how stressful it is and typically cut lackluster eateries slack but I can honestly say this place is just an embarrassment. Being as they opened in October and it is now almost July, having "just opened" is no longer a valid excuse for why they do not have their act together yet. I have come here three times over the course of a few months hoping that my experience would be better after they have had some time to work out their kinks, but each time I leave very disappointed which is a shame because I LOVE TTRH. My goodness, where to begin: First of all, this place is filthy! The first time I came here my husband and I both got very dingy glasses, some unknown, light, sticky substance was at the bottom of my husband's glass which he didn't notice until he finished his sweet tea. The silver looked suspect too, but our waitress was more than happy to get us new silverware and clean glasses. If you come in near closing don't be surprised if you see tables full of dirty dishes and half eaten food over the course of your entire meal. Food is nothing to write home about and takes entirely too long. 2 8oz steaks with potatoes and broccoli should not take over an hour! Especially during the middle of the week, and for it to come over/undercooked is just unacceptable. Another time I came I got the country fried chicken, which was just so dry and pathetic not even drowning it in gravy could save it. I've been a server before and to hear the kids in there getting chewed out by customers for over/undercooked/WRONG/LATE food because of the kitchen just brings back bad memories. Management is a COMPLETE and utter JOKE. They seem to be more interested in hanging out around the hostess stand and YELLING at their employees in the back of the kitchen (which fyi can be heard if you're by the bar or the bathroom) than actually doing their damn jobs. Seriously? Only 1 manager on duty? My husband and I requested to speak to a manager once about our food and we watched our waitress walk around the whole restaurant and in and out of the kitchen looking for a manager on duty to come over. And the manager was a man who had the most nonchalant attitude on the planet, like he was doing us some huge favor coming over to our table. The nerve. I'd be surprised if this place makes it to the 5 year mark. If you go on any platform, the majority of the reviews are bad. Middletown TRH needs a complete overhaul, they just need to get rid of everyone, management included and start from scratch. read more

food great. service awful. if you sit down to eat at say....6:00pm. and are a party of 4 . it will take between 2 and a half to 3 hours to complete your meal. your server will never bring back your change. skip getting a table or even getting reservations. go straight to the bar. much faster. sure it's fun seeing your waitress dance with other co workers, it's something to take your mind off the fact it's been an hour sense you placed your starter and you've been out of beer for 20 minute's. here is my oath " if i ever win the lottery for $233 million. im going to buy into the lonestar franchise and open it next door to this place. the same food,same price,same peanuts on the floor. but half the time used for actual customer service. so a meal for 4 can sit at 6pm, drinks in by 6:05, drinks arrive at table by 6:15. dinner order in by 6:20. refills on drinks when needed. dinner arrives 6:45. waitress asks if dessert menu is needed at 7:10. if not, bill paid and walking out the door by 7:20. or stay for desserts and leave by 7:45. read more

Been driving by place waiting for it to open (Middletown Delaware). Had dinner there last night (Saturday) - didn't realize u could call ahead for reservations and so waited over an hour and a half for table. Service good once we got seated - shared "boneless" chicken wings- basically chicken nuggets - limp, not at all crispy. Wife had prime rib - ordered medium rare -came medium well - I had the 23 ounce t-bone- order rare - came medium - side salads were good as were rolls and drinks. Basically expensive for what you get, added to that is the wait and there are more reasonable places with better food in the area. Personally Outback is a favorite of mine for steaks and prime rib and I use as a benchmark to compare similar chain places like Texas Roadhouse - not even close. read more

Stopped in a Thursday night for dinner alone. Waitress was very clean and nice to me. I ordered a rare prime rib with veggies and baked potato. Everything was cooked to my perfection! Steak was warm and perfectly raw inside which is how I love my steaks, the potato and veggies were delicious too.
