Visited Texas Roadhouse 7/14 in celebration of my mother-in-law's birthday. This experience was really different than previous experiences...... What we ordered: * Combo appetizer * Sirloin Steak 12 oz * 4 pc Catfish * 12 oz Strip * Strawberry Cheesecake Alyssa was our server. We shared with her that we were celebrating my mother-in-law's birthday. She even wished her a happy birthday. Aside from our ordered items listed, I had also requested a side order of grilled bread (like how they serve with their shrimp). I've ordered it before..... When our food was delivered I reminded our waitress about the order of my grilled bread. She left as though to go get it. She then came back saying that they don't do that..... What!? I've ordered it before. Did our waitress forget to put the order in and just didn't want to deal with it? I said it was fine & continued with dinnner. When we were wrapping up dinner I had asked our waitress about the birthday treat options provided. I was then told that they no longer offer that. I then advised the waitress that I would just go ahead and order a dessert for the birthday celebration. The dessert came. No candle or HBD acknowledgment.... We were a little shocked since we had seen a group of employees singing HBD to someone else earlier. Not sure if our waitress was having an off day.... But it felt like we were pulling teeth to try and make this dinner memorable for a birthday celebration. We asked our waitress what had happened to the saddle and HBD celebration? She then said she could bring the saddle if we really wanted her to..... REALLY!? She was almost bothered by the request. Eventually my mother-in-law was able to sit on the saddle and a group of employees came to sing to her. That's all she really wanted..... Everything was sweet except the "sweet tea"! The food was good and huge portions but everything had an oddly sweet flavor for Texas BBq. My prime rib tasted like it had a sweet rub encrusted on the outside. It was a very loud and interactive experience so if you are looking for a quiet conversation or even hearing any other conversations at the table I wouldn't count on it. This was my husband's first time and we had a pretty positive experience. The server was amazing despite how busy this place was! The rolls are pretty freakin amazing! Service was super fast and friendly! Would definitely come back when craving some meat. I haven't been to a Texas Roadhouse in many, many years and this visit did not disappoint. We started with the Rattlesnake Bites and they were not worth it. They were nice and crispy and the flavor was good (jalapenos and cheese), but they were WAY too salty. To the point I couldn't finish them and I pretty much never leave unfinished food! But the rest of the meal was on point! The rolls were delicious and warm. Also had a small caesar, the porterhouse with mushrooms and the fries. The steak was cooked perfectly and was seasoned well. I LOVE a thick fry and these were crispy and nicely seasoned. This chain is my favorite! Streaks taste great!! They are the delightful blend of tender and over the top tasty, if only I could get my grill to be as seasoned! Staff is friendly and available. Great prices for what you get and plenty of parking. It can take a while to get a table so try to reserve a spot online to save some time and go by home coffee for a treat while you wait. Sometimes the food can be a bit salty and hot and miss on taste, but still worth it. Also can be on the louder side so be ready for that. If you get to sit more towards the middle the staff does a little dance about every hour or so and every 30 minutes you can expect the team to sing their version of happy birthday. read more

All around a happy camper with the food. The only snafu was when you ordered the food you get a text when your food is ready and the text says to wait in your car. I thought somebody was gonna come out and bring me my order. It said to wait in the to area and you have to text them that you're there. then I got another text that said to go to the pick up area again. I thought they were gonna bring me the food, in actuality you have to go up to the pick up window and pick up and pay for your food. Anyways I would definitely order food from them again. Seeing all the hype around the city, we finally got the chance to try this place! It's still very popular, with a daily waitlist. Since we didn't have a reservation, we waited about 40 minutes, it well worth it. The moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt like a ranch-style sports bar, which we really enjoyed. We ordered the T-bone, New York strip, and filet mignon, each served with two sides of our choice. Everything was incredibly tasty. The steaks were tender and literally melted in our mouths. Even the bread and butter stood out, so so good. Service was excellent as well. Unfortunately, we didn't catch our server's name, but she was blonde and very attentive also so sweet! Came here New Year's Eve, with my boyfriend ( it was his first time to txrh ) and we had a couple margaritas, appetizer, and our meals. We got sat within 5 mins, on a clearly very busy night. The rolls were FRESH out of that oven, we had chicken, filets, and shrimp- everything was delicious. My boyfriend said it was the best filet he's had. My boyfriend and I are both servers, at very busy places and have been for years. With that being said I'd like to shoutout our server: Andre was our server and he was on time with everything, refills, check in on food, was polite and hit all key points, he did a great job upselling to. Food was absolutely delicious! I have been here about 3 times now and all 3 times I was sat in a timely manner and served effectively and efficiently! Huge shout out to young lady Isela. Although some of the workers I have experienced at this location are know it all's she took the time to get to know us and explained everything perfectly! She had been running around but never ignored a tables request so far as I had seen. Came in this time and asked for her section but she isn't a server- tipped her on the way out! Only issue I had was that our server Cassie? (Not exactly sure if that was her name) checked on us only 2 times and disappeared when we had found a temperature pick in our rice. I get this is a popular restaurant but it doesn't mean you let service go to the wayside. Their website make you aware they do not take reservations but have a waitlist. When I was ready to activate the waitlist it would not take a reservation over 6 and they advise you to call and make a reservation? I was checking in at 5pm to be put on a waitlist hoping for a 6:30pm seating. When I called they said my reservation for 9 people would be at 9:00pm. I said it was too late so they said they would split my reservation in two with no guarantees that the two tables would be close. We were celebrating a milestone birthday, had a cake and it was too late to try to make changes as attendees were driving in from East, North San Diego. Checking in we asked the host if she could try to seat us together and she said no??? No flexibility at all. But in the end they sat us kind of close to one another. Our server was nice and when we saw the table adjacent to our party of six we asked if the 3 of use could move to it. We have not ordered yet. Our server said he would check for us and came back to say his manager said she couldn't work it out??? It was the same size table and they were next to each other. I don't even know where to begin. The waiters at this Texas Roadhouse location are so damn fine!!! I don't remember his name, but I know it started with an A, and ended with an E. He has a fat ass, and is the finest waiter I've ever seen! It looked like he was glowing! That guy with the tattoo behind his right ear, is stunning! I heard him barking because it was someone's birthday, and I nearly collapsed. The host with the mustache is so handsome, he should be a waiter. And Jaden. That man is one of the greatest looking men I've ever seen in person! On my way out, he said, "Have a good day!". I almost died! I know that's his job, but damn, he did it well! Every man working there is fine as hell! I couldn't catch all of their names but I figured it was worth to mention. The people I mentioned were the names/looks I noticed. I don't know where they were found. It was really hard to stay dry. I'm glad to have had those men as entertainment while eating because without them, I would've been bored out of my mind! First and foremost Rigo you the man excellent service . Right from the start. The food was amazing as always. You never have to ever bring A1 Sauce as that insults me and the one who prepared that steak. As if everything is done right no sauce is required. Are order and delivery of everything was faster than a NASCAR pit crew. We got the potato skins to start. The bread is on point as always. My wife and I shared the Ribeye and grilled shrimp combo. With our sides being the best salad I ever had with fresh veggies steamed to perfection. My son also got the Ribeye and Shrimp combo with also a salad and fully loaded Sweet potato which is the way. Rigo was attentive and our drinks were never empty. The Vibe is the real reason to make a stop through this fine establishment. Perfect place to celebrate any occasion. The one downside my wife tried to use the kiosk at the table. It for some reason didn't take the birthday reward and one of the gift cards. So I think it's better to pay the server directly. Not very happy with my first time here. Service was terrible. Wanted to check this place out cause I've never been and everyone seems to hype up their bread rolls. So my husband and I were waiting quite a while and were not even served water or drinks. There were many workers who passed us by who didn't bother to ask if we needed anything or if we've been helped. So I had to find someone to have someone serve us. Like why do I have to flag someone down? It was then when we were informed that the hostess that sat us, sat us in a section of the restaurant where the server was on their break. They sectioned off our area to not serve anyone, so why seat us there in the first place? Food was ok. I ordered ribeye but it was on the chewy side. Bread rolls were soft and fluffy. Our table shared the 3 item app combo with wings, potato skins & fried pickles [$14.99] We liked everything on that plate. The batter for the fried pickles was really light & good. We ordered the full slab of ribs [$26.99] that came w/about 8 really, really thick bones. We had to ask for more sauce cause the sauce was lacking. While the ribs was thick & fall off the bone, it was dry. It was overcooked as I can imagine it's hard to keep such thick ribs moist. If they got that part right there would be no complaints here. The dish came with 2 sides which were all basic. We opted for buttered corn & steak fries. Got a taste of the rice & that I would say was the tastiest side of the night. Their mac & cheese didn't really have any flavor which was a bummer since it's an extra charge. Our waitress was awesome. She was one of the nicest waitress we've encountered. So shout out to her! My husband and I love Texas Roadhouse so much his mom always sends a gift card for Christmas! We usually go to the location in El Cajon, but my husband really wanted to check out the National City restaurant. We set our reservation online and waited the time it said, when we were driving to the restaurant it cancelled our wait time which was weird so I went back again and set up another request to join the wait. We parked and responded to the text from TRH that our party was ready and it added us to the queue, my husband went to talk to the host and let them know we were removed previously and as they were talking it again removed us from the wait. The host was gracious and added us manually and we were able to get sat at the original estimated time. Really nice of them, I know technical errors happen so we were grateful considering people were trying to walk in but their wait time was 1.5-2 hours. The layout for this location seemed pretty spacious, I even saw a table that could easily fit a group of 10. Our server was Alexa, she was so nice and since we are die hards we already knew what to order as soon as we sat down. For starters we ordered the combo apps just as their shown and I ordered the bone in ribeye and Bryan ordered the country fried sirloin. The food was really good, usually I mention that the apps are a little too salty but they actually came out perfect. I paired my ribeye with their rice and house salad and the house salad came in a huge bowl. I was stuffed just from the salad and apps so when I cut into my steak I saw that it was perfectly cooked. I usually get this steak because I share it with our pup at home. Bryan's sirloin was huge, I have never seen it that big before and he was so happy and it was perfectly cooked. We had a really good time at the National City location, everyone is so nice and they line danced for a good long song and everyone seemed so happy. Staff line dance during some songs as a form of entertainment. If its your bday they'll give you a fake horse to ride as they sing you a song and ask everyone in the area to cheer you on. Service is pretty standard. Because it's so crowded you wont be bff with them as they are bopping around. But they do a good job making sure you have everything you need from the beginning because who knows when you'll see them again. The food is not that good. There were 6 in our group and each one ordered something different. From steaks which was seasoned well but came to us cold. Loaded baked potatoes were decent (Most if not all the entrees comes with two sides). The chicken were a bit dry. It didn't really smack. But it was a lot of food so it did fill me up. Shoutout to the lady in the pink top, I think she is the manager, because she was everywhere at once. She was swooping around that restaurant like a mama eagle keeping an eye on her eaglets. The teamwork was impressive. They've got the system DOWN, bro. Now let's talk food... that bread should honestly come with a warning label because I almost ate the entire basket myself. Yes the wait is an average of 3 hours but if you sign up for a table on their app you can show up to Texas Roadhouse once you get the warning that you're up next. We visit Texas Roadhouse often, but unfortunately tonight's experience was so disappointing that I'm reconsidering coming back at all. From the start, things were off. There was no bread available--something they're known for--and when it finally came out, customers were getting up themselves to grab baskets, which is bit embarrassing for a restaurant setting. The food itself was also a letdown. Our steaks, ordered medium rare, both came out well done and dry. I didn't want to create a bigger issue by sending everything back, so I only asked for one remake, but it shouldn't have been necessary in the first place. On top of that, one of our side dishes never arrived at all. Throughout the meal, we repeatedly had to ask for basic items--like butter--which, even after asking multiple times, never came. Service overall felt disorganized from beginning to end. While the restaurant is marketed as family-friendly, even the high chairs were an issue--none of the buckles were working, which is a safety concern. What was most disappointing was the response from the manager. After bringing all of this up, the interaction felt dismissive--just a quick apology and acknowledgment about the bread, without any real effort to make things right. I rarely leave negative reviews, especially for places we frequent, but this experience fell far below expectations.
